Hey, guys this battery is one of the newer ones found in Ebay. I took a stab and went for it as it was only 10 bucks. As you can see in the video this Quality of the construction is very good for a plastic cover. The cover and the device is flush on the sides, which is is perfect for me and ITS THINNER THAN OTHER ONES THAT I HAVE SEEN ON XDA. KICKstand is great too.
Take a look at the video.(incomplete due to the 256mb SDHC card )

part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U66JxD75bWk
Performance: Still testing the battery. Not sure how to, but I will recharge the battery with the device shut off and open up android to see how good the battery actually is. Seems like its using only the first half of the battery(16hrs with 80% left - I was listening to music, texing my cuz who was at bestbuy line for 55" LED Samsung, while I was at sears waiting in line till 1am . My cuz got the tv for 1500 so ) But I will try to recalibrate it.
The interesting thing was, when i first tested it, it was with mdjeejay 2.3 clean with NON EXTENDED Kernel. So, Im not sure whats going on there. (MAY BE ITS A FAKE)
But I kinda need help about testing the battery. Cause Im not really sure how to recalibrate it.

UPDATE: This battery works with any kernal available, whether or not the kernel supports extended battery does not seem to matter.
May i have link to it?
Thanks

I have both the official and this 2600mah/2400mah (advertised elsewhere) with kickstand. The kickstand will fall apart after a short time... The hinges that keep them in place are very weak. Mine broke in less than a week.
The battery life is very good and doesn't add much thickness to the phone. I would say the total thickness is about 15mm compared to 11mm of the phone without the extended battery. I do prefer this battery in some sense to the official one with kickstand as it is quite a bit thinner (guess about 18mm) however HTC OEM has a "real" kickstand...

Yes, I can use the HTC case with these 3rd party batteries but not vice versa as the HTC extended battery is thicker.
Another problem and mentioned on other threads the battery acts like 2 batteries. The controller is el-cheapo. Once you run out of juice, remove the battery and re-insert then you get another 50-60%+
but i have heard or read somewhere that you could calibrate the battery somehow to make android show the whole battery percentage. Any idea how?

just saw this on ppcgeeks thought I'd post it here for anyone looking. It's "coming soon" but not sure about ETA:
http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=993
So its ONLY 2 months late from when they said it would be out. But just the same, good to see it is ALMOST out.
now Shipping! Woot!
Too bad it would cost me 100 bucks for the package. 70 for the extended battery, and another 35 for the case. Not sure I could justify dropping that for my cell phone.
Has anyone tried any of the batteries from Seidio. They are offering an extended battery of 3200 MAH. I don't want to try one of these if there is a chance of frying my 6800.

So, let me see if I understand your question, in a forum post about the extended hard case for the seidio battery, you wonder if anyone has tried any of the batteries?
Why would any of us be discussing the hard case for the SEIDIO extended battery if we didn't already have the battery to get the hard case for????
Do you imagine we're all going to buy the hard case for the extended battery and use it with the stock battery?
I have the Seidio Battery...
It will not FRY your phone!

Well let’s see!
Maybe because it is nothing more than a hard case.
or
Because there is no requirement stating that one must have the SEIDIO extended battery to use the SEIDIO hard case.
or
Maybe I just thought that because it was apparent that some of the viewers in this thread may have some knowledge about extended batteries and since I have heard about aftermarket batteries/accessories that have caused problems in the past thereby voiding the warranty and the fact that to replace this phone would be pricey it might just be a good idea to ask those with experience in the extended battery arena about the integrity of the product before I purchase.
I don't want a $579.00 (retail replacement) iron on my hands!
mr.ellsworth
Dude, it's a HARDCASE ONLY FOR THE EXTENDED BATTERY. Why would anyone buy the hardcase for the extended battery IF they didn't have the extended battery in the first place?
If you wanted to use the "slim" hardcase then that would make sense, but this is ONLY for users who have the EXTENDED battery to buy this hard case.
Just nearly a week and a half ago I placed my first order to get a slim rubber case and clip..and the day I saw that the extended case was in I ordered the battery and case..got it today and so far nothing but good results. I've had it on for what seems to be like 7 hours and it shows 80% still remaining...BUT during a good 4 or 5 of those hours i had bluetooth on, wifi on and logged onto windows live messanger..it didn't budge. Its not that much bigger with this battery and with somedays not knowing if i'll be working 8 hours or 14 this helps out alot! It does add a bit of weight to it but i'm willing to give that extra weight and thickness for all that my phone is capable of doing.

$579.00?? It costs $619.00 to replace at Verizon!!
not worth it, haha
Well, check it out. I'm the kind of person to take care of my junk. I went to my god fathers heart surgery, and that morning in the parking lot i dropped my phone (1st time) cause you know, it's damn slippery. I was juggling other crap in my hands as well. The phone dropped, back cover popped off no problem.
It wasn't until later i noticed that the left msg record button was jammed, i set that button as 'alt+tab.' crap. I tried fixing it, it proved impossible with my methods.
I used my insurance and got a new phone for $50. That was late 2007. Just this past wednesday, about 4-5 months after with this new phone, i dropped it at work from a very low height. What are the odds that the same freaking button broke? Fook it, right? I can learn to live with it. But i still want the case. Even if you got this phone for $200, a $40 investment to protect it is worth it. I am a power user running 10 emails through flexmail at all times, amongst other things such as my exchange work email. So i will not only get this case but the extra capacity battery.
If you don't think $40 is worth covering $200, then you probably have problems. If this had been available when i bought the phone, i would have gladly paid $40 over $50 and the hassel i went through setting up the new phone.
thanks for the great find gand!
So after having this setup for nearly a week I am quite pleased. From having last plugged it in on Friday for about a 45 minutes it lasted till sunday afternoon at about 4:30 where it showed 30%. Given i was barely talking on the phone and sent only a dozen or two texts...the standby time still amazed me. I google mapped a few things as well..I definately reccomend this.
Ok so I ordered:
3200MAH SUPER EXTENDED BATTERY FOR PPC 6800 ($64.95 USD)
RUBBERIZED CASE/HOLSTER COMBO FOR EXTENDED XV 6800 / PPC 6800 ($49.95 USD)
It came out to a total of $127.15 (USD)
The battery comes with a cover as shown in the picture, but unlike the picture it says seidio on the back of it, very cool!
The 'rubberized case' with holder is pretty cool. It's not as 'grippy' as i thought it would be, but definitly an improvement over the original finish. I am more confident with it in my hand.
I've begun charging the battery that supposedly has 60% charge according to WM.
I also use my phone quite a bit so i'll be reporting in on whether this battery was worth it or not.
Worth noting is that unlike many others, i had no problems at all installing the battery case cover, nor the rubber covers. Just be patient and look at what you're doing and you should be ok.
So far 100% satisfied, will update in a few weeks.
not wanting the extreme bulk of the 3200 battery, i went ahead and got a 1650 battery instead...BIG MISTAKE, don't get it, I don't notice any battery level change, I went about with my usual business hopefully ending the day with at least 30-40% (I generally start using the phone at 9-10 till maybe 8-9) at night but instead, as usual it dropped to 0 and dies on me. With a case and the battery i forked up 108 bucks- so pay the extra 20 bucks and get the 3200 instead, i regret not doing so!

I use the Mugen 3600mAh battery and Seido hard case; in three months of use, no one has ever commented on the thickness of my phone. It fits (fills) the hand better for a more secure grip. But yes, the Seido "rubberized" case isn't all that grippy, so I recommend plastering it with e-grips appliques.
Seidio extended battery case hardware hack for macro lens and sunshield.
The pictures will show what a sweet hack this is. I'd wanted both a sun shield and a macro lens, and when I got this new battery and the case that came with it I saw the possibilities right away.
First I eyeballed the length and width of the slider that I would need (about 9/16" by 7/16" )
Then I carved a channel the thickness of my slider in the large lower lip.
The opposing channel was constructed from three layers of the same black plastic sheet I used for the slider.
Cleaned out any excess glue from the track, checking it with the slider by hand.
Then I temporarily spot glued the three layer channel to the case with the slider in place to see if I needed to make any adjustments to the width of the slider.
After making adjustments I glued the three layer channel to the case with the slider in place.
Now I was ready to make the hole for my macro lens (You want to make it centered with respect to the camera) I just eyeballed it. Made a small hole with a drill, then with a round needle file made it as concentric with the hole in the case for the camera as I could by hand.
Having stripped numerous machines and devices over the years I had a little selection of small lenses.
I chose a small magnifier of a size a little bit larger than the hole I'd filed in the slider and glued it in place.
When that dried I put the case back on the phone and I moved the slider to the macro position and made sure it was centered correctly. Then a sliver of the same black plastic sheet was carefully glued in the channel as a block to stop the slider at that position.
That was pretty much it. I used 5 minute clear epoxy which allowed me to clean out glue that was in bad places while it was still tacky.

I found this extended battery for the vogue. Any of you use this? If so how does it compare to the original standard battery?
that battery just showed up on the "battery scene"... it should provide more capacity based on mAh. i'm using Seidio's 2000 mAH battery it provides enough power to get me 1.5 days with normal usage.
Yeah I have that battery and anything is better than the one that comes with it. It lasts a lot longer as you would probably expect from a bigger battery. If you do get that battery it won't fit in your case anymore and the best case I found that fits it perfect by the way is this one http://swissmobility.swissmobilitystore.com/store/product/swissmobility_commander. It fits it perfect after a day of breaking it in. It is also cheaper here at this site http://www.buywirelessnow.com/smartwireless/buy/accessories/cat/615/accessory/298685 which includes the cover and free shipping.

Mind sharing pictures of what it looks like installed? Also do you know if any of the existing extended batteries would fit using the OEM extended battery door?
thanks,
-CC
Here are a few pictures. As far as other batteries fitting inside like the 2000 from seidio it probably will because they claim it will still fit in the original holster with the back you can get with it and with this HTC back it won't fit inside the original holster. This is all an assumption.
thanks for the pictures... if you have it, i'd like to see a side-shot of the phone with battery cover (similar to 3rd from left but with cover) and a bottom-shot of the phone with battery cover (looking from bottom). having an OEM cover vs. the tight Seidio cover is something i'm thinking about (not to mention having another backup battery). thx

I've been thinking of getting the Treo 700wx
This is the 1500mah battery which fits with the original cover..

too expensive though, there's tons of them on ebay cheaper
Will a Extended Battery Door for a Capacity 1900 mAh battery fit a 2000mah battery?
i have the extented door for the OEM 1900 mAh battery and it easily accomodates seidio's 2000 mAh battery. in fact, the 1900 mAh battery is taller than seidio's 2000 mAh battery.
Thanks for the reply. I'm looking forward to the purchasing the door and the extended battery.
how much room is left in between the battery and the cover would you say? I want to put an led in the case for a non-flash/light. the mugen-power full case looks like it would work, but I don't want to spend $75 on a 3 year old phones battery.
Anyone bought it?
http://cgi.ebay.com/2400mAh-Extende..._Accessories&hash=item5ad84bc6c0#ht_500wt_750
I'm curious about how it will fit and if its secure.
I have this battery, and i found the fitting it not that good. I had to trim down some edges from the plastic cover to fit properly. Also the battery lifetime doesn't impress me much, so it's my backup battery now and the original will be my primal.
so is it a no buy? does it last???
man... I really wanted a long lasting battery
at last a 1 day without charge
I really use the phone a lot...
video, excel, internet, gps, games...
HD2 is a powerhouse and don't let me down (rick roll xD)
the only cons is the battery life.
=================
"lifetime doesn't impress me much"
it's really that bad? What do you think its the REAL capacity?
it's printed 2400mh...
You think it last 30% more than a original battery?
I was expecting to last 50% more at least...
I really doubt it is even 30%, i haven´t tested it thoroughly but i found that i was at the same percentage at the end of the day with the fat battery as with the orignal one. So i just have this fat battery with me in case of an ermergency or so. My original battery now last 3 days for me so i can deal with that, i don´t use it that often.
I would not buy it for a second time, even tho it is really cheap.
So why will they sell this huge brick and it is no better than the flat original battery? hmmmm... :-?
To make money, and it works
You can buy two spare standard batteries and charger for around $12US on ebay, and I find it quite easy to just have a charged spare in my pocket for when I am out and about, and one still on charge ready for when I get home in case I need it.
For me it has been an improvement. I have more protected the camra and now the life expectancy is slightly higher than 40%
size of ext.battery
Could anybody post a photo of HD2+ext.bat or write in mm width of exserted battery.
if you are honestly going the route of the ugly ugly extended battery back cover and all.. why not just get an official htc.. so quality wouldn't be an issue????
Because the HTC one still isn't available.

The width of the battery is 52mm the thickness is 10mm and the lenght is 45mm
DealExtreme now have a 3500 mAh battery with cover Link
However I don't think it's 3500 mAh and the quality is probably low and it wont be water resitance because it miss the extra internal cover for the battery.
there is such topic already, and this battery is the same, that already more than month selling on ebay
It's thicker than stock. I have ordered one similar to that as well. Just waiting on it to arrive. There is another topic here that is already about extended batteries for the defy. Your link does include the rear battery cover. However, I would not try and dip that in water unless you put some kind of waterproofing on the replacement back cover. Getting better battery life for cheap does have its disadvantages as well. Unless some company makes one that retains water resistance with a large battery and replacement back cover.

Anyway Dealextreme is a more know seller then ebay sellers so I would go for Dealextreme insted of ebay.
agree, i might consider the larger battery
This is really interesting! I want one too but if any of you were to buy it, i would be cautious since dealxtreme is known for having cheap chinese made products, theres an american company i found online that sells this battery: http://www.wirelessground.com/motorola-defy-extended-high-capacity-battery.html just sayin
Another dealextreme 3500mAh
Now there's also this one:
dealextreme.com/p/3500mah-rechargeable-extended-battery-pack-cover-for-motorola-mb525-73564 - 3500mAh Rechargeable Extended Battery Pack + Cover for Motorola MB525
In addition to the previous

Both back cases have no waterproofing. As (remaining) capacity is probably more related to age of the battery than to price; I would pick the newer white one. Anyway, you only loose $11 instead of ~$30 for the ebay options.
I just got a D.Seven extended battery for US$13
Its more than double the thickness of a normal battery, comes with an extra cover which makes you lose the waterproofness....and my shell doesnt fit now, the phone is now damn bulky...
Dont think i'll be using it anytime soon, unless going camping or something
Iit would have created a smaller battery

For those of you who have the HD2 with the extended battery, I know how important it is to find a case that will fit with the extended battery attached. For the fact that the HD2 is a very unique powerful phone along with the vast amount of operating systems that this phone can support, a protected case is priority! After much research, I have finally found the case that will fit with the extended battery without any modifications whatsoever! It is the Seidio Convert Combo Case for the HTC Evo 4G!! Here's the link:
http://www.seidioonline.com/htc-evo-4g-convert-case-holster-black-p/bd3-hkr4hev4.htm
Not only that this case does an excellent job at protecting the phone, but thanks to the excellent pre-cutouts, you still have access to the camera, speaker, light, USB port and headphone jack! The only disadvantage is that you don't access to the kickstand. If you can deal with that, this case is for you! Here are some pictures I've taken with my phone and new case.
Complete Assembly
My phone with extended battery
Ditching the slim hard case
Putting the phone in the silicone skin
Phone with silicone skin
Phone with silicone skin and skeleton
Pre-cutouts
This case should fit all HD2's without any problems. If you have the HD2 with the extended battery, I highly recommend that you get this case to protect your investment!! It will be the best $50.00 you will spend! I hope this helps!
http://www.jr.com/powerskin/pe/PSK_AP1502HD7/
What about the powerskin? It claims to fit the hd2
I did the research on this case. It may fit, but it will cover up the camera, speaker, light, USB port and headphone jack. For me, I wanted an extended battery as well as a protective case that gives the ability to access all the ports and jacks on the phone. That's why I chose the case I have now.
Another thing to consider: That power skin has a battery with 1500mAh. The extended battery has 2300mAh. To me, that's more juice that I get to have with the extended battery.
awesome, can you tell me exactly which battery to buy. And I will also buy that case. Do I have to apply a screen protector my self, or is it like the otterbox defender case that comes with one already installed?
Yes, you will have to apply a screen protector yourself. Here are my recommendations:

very nice , i like it
so are you not using the hard case part of it just the loose fitting rubber with the outer shell? just curious if you are using the hard part of the case as well.
I bought this official HTC Battery and gel case from eBay.

What absolute crap!
The battery is fine but that gel case has a pointless bulky stylus attachment on the side which adds a whole cm to the width. The phone now looks like something the Fedex guy carries!
I just ended up taking the extended back cover off and stretching a standard gel case over the battery.

What ROM are you using? I ask because most of the custom ROMs here don't have extended battery support. The ROM listed in my signature for the HD2 is one of a very few that does. Here's the thread where I got the ROM from.

According to the Tytung_R14 kernel list of features, the only extended battery that is supported by this kernel is the official HTC extended battery (2300mAh). This is what the battery looks like.

Scroll down so that you can see actual pictures of the battery. If you do not have this official extended battery, then your ROM won't support it.

Official Extended Battery for HD2
I'm getting requests to provide links to the official extended battery for the HD2. This battery is getting very difficult to find. It's recommended to use Amazon or Ebay to find this battery. Here is a link from both vendors. Keep in mind that these vendors can change their links at anytime, making the ones listed here outdated.
