Folks,
Okay, I read the manual and searched and still can't find a way to customise the content of the HTC Home plugin. I don't mean the large, square HTC Home app that has tabs, just the little launcher bar.
I didn't realise I had this and the only reason I installed my SPB Pocket Plus app was for the launcher bar (most other things already covered by HTC software).
Thanks for any help on how I get my own links in there
Regards,
Gary.
Just an update (and a bump )
Holding the stylus in an empty part of the plugin results in nothing (no menu etc.)
Holding the stylus on an object in the plugin, ditto (it will just launch the link)
The links don't seem to be the same as the HTC Home box with the tabs etc.
Are the links stored in a special directory somwhere?
The manual doesn't even mention the plugin!
Frankly, it seems a bit lame not to allow users to easily config this plugin. As I said earlier, with the HTC features built in (e.g. full close on the "X"), I could really do without the extra processing baggage needed.
Regards,
Gary.

Thanks for bringing it up - no, nobody seems to know here (apparently, everyone prefers the big, square HTC Home applet but for me, it takes too much real estate).
I'd welcome any input - I'm still of the impression that there must be a directory with shortcuts in it somewhere but I can't find it.
Regards,
Gary.
I've searched quite a bit and I just can't find it, what is the link to the first screen that shows up on the Tilt when it boots up?
I know the animation is: 3G Up_01_1.gif
I know the Windows start image is: welcomehead.95.png
But I can't find out that first image.
Or if there is anyway to make one picture show up the whole way through instead of switching to the 3 seperate ones. (I do know there is a point to it, and it's nice to know where it is in the boot process)
And while you're here, do you know if there is a way to add a "Weather" plugin to the HTC Home Plugin that comes on the Tilt? I've found the upgraded one that adds the PIE icon and I can use Kaiser Tweak to add more, but none of them are a weather plugin.
Thanks.
that's part of ROM image, to cahnge it you have to flash your ROM with a cooked one. Also, I think you can just flash the splashscreen but that requires you to load a different bootloader such as HardSPL.
If you have HTC HOme loaded, then you have a weather tab. Get HTC Home Customizer from pocketemu.com and you can customize the tabs, icons, and weather settings.

edit: I don't think this is what you were looking for. Unless you want to disable the start up animation..

Nope, I've already replaced that one.
Thanks though.

Ok, I may have to look into that.
As far as HTC Home, I don't like the large clock format. I like how it is, although I plan to go through the Customizer and see if I can make one I like better.
Thanks.

If you don't use HTC Home plugin and just want a good weather plugin, then there's a host of good ones out there. I recommend SPB Weather it's one of the best out there.

I will definitely look into that. So far I've just been using google as my PIE homepage with the weather located on top of the headlines once I log in.
Thanks.

Yeah that's what I do to. I used to use Marsware WeatherPanel along with the normal plugins of WM5. Now with this HTC plugin, I just like it way better. My weather isn't as detailed but I like the design better then the old plugins. All comes down to personal perferences....
Hi,
I come from land of Blackberry. I'd like a simple home/today screen.
6 or 9 icons which point to things like calendar, email, sms, Opera.
I need to operate these with my finger and not the stylus, or perhaps the side wheel.
Also I want to get back to this screen with a single click of something.
Thanks
D

This is what i have, it sounds like it might be what you're looking for, the clock/calendar is rltoday, mine is a basic setup but you can customize it how ever you want, i've seem some pretty cool looking setups that are pretty advanced for me. The tabs is claunch, which you can have up to 8 tabs, you can have what ever icons you want in it, and you can make the icons as big/small as you want.

Thanks, very nice but more than I need. I don't need the calendar or clock, just a set of large icons I can quickly stab at with my fingers!
BTW what is the gmail notification you have there?
Thanks
D
(edit: just checked the rltime website and perhaps it will do what I want after all!)

if it's just a few buttons you want then claunch might be something you want to take a look at, i have it setup w/4 tabs, but you can have it w/no tabs and just one screen and then put what ever icons you want to open up the program. the gmail notification is the standard Tilt notification. it came w/the phone.
SPB Mobile Shell, and SPB Pocket Plus are also excellent options. SPB Mobile Shell, is made for ease of use and functionality, but still makes your screen look amazing. You can even get weather updates on it. It also includes something called the SPB menu, which is fantastic for one handed navigation of programs, settings etc...
The first screenshot is of my today screen, at the top is SPB Pocket Plus (but Mobile shell looks similar), I use my tabs hidden, but as you can see from the second pic, if you just click on a tab, it has lots of goodies within. You can also have it so you don't need to click on a tab, and the content is always shown.
The third pic is so you can see how practical SPB menu is.
PS: I am in NO way affiliated with SPB, I just happen to love their software lol.
I agree for simple setup and use SPB Shell is a good starting point and you can customize the layout and icons to your needs.
If your into a bit more messing about and a little more work try Touch Commander.
As a starting point though SPB Shell

Thanks guys, must say having looked at the web page and features of SPB shell it does look very good.
Just wondered if it adds any stability issues or slow down to your kaiser device that you have noticed.
I tried to switch my kaiser on this morning with the usual power switch and it would not do anything. The lights were still flashing but nobody was home. I plugged it in to external power but still the same, ended up having to soft reset it. Sadly this is the second 'oddity' I have had in just over a week now. First was when it became unresponsive and would not respond to any screen presses. (I've not loaded SPB yet and to be honest not a lot else) /sigh!
Quick question, how does one get back to the SPB today screen from any other screen in one press? Without turning on/off?
Thanks
Mike
By pressing the End key?

Is there any way to add tasks to show up in the touchflow homepage, below the calendar?
Nobody knows?
i wanna know too
me too... I use tasks and prefer that to show up instead of calendar appointments.
Another task question...
I would like tasks to be added to Touchflo 3D too, but I'm guessing we're going to have to wait for the next version!
In the meantime, I have another task question; is it possible for tasks to just show active tasks that have "started"? e.g. if the start date for a task is next month, then I don't want to see it until then, unless I view "all tasks". I've just upgraded from a mobile 2005 device, and this is the first feature I'm missing!
Thanks for any help!
Lee
yeah...ane idea how to add task in the home screen...i so miss it though i like the Flo3D interface very much...adding the task option below the calender or instead could be great...ane ideas please...
thanks
With this version of TF3D it is unfortunately impossible.
yup i miss Tasks on the homepage too, the only alternative i found is adding it to the Start Menu so i can access it quickly.

Seriously?! No tasks on the home screen without disabling TF3D?.
Honestly.. ..every time I get a new WinMobile phone, it feels like 3 steps forward and 2 steps back. Ho hum...
(at least that's an aggregated 1 step forward... ;-) )
Million peoples aks for this before. Just use the search or google.
If it is possible, we make the solution public! Just wait...
A good solution I have found from helpful guys here is to
1 - install Second Today (found on these boards)
2 - registry change one of your soft keys to Second Today so you can flick between TF3D and Today
3 - install a today screen plugin (I like Pocket Breeze)
Then you have the best of both worlds and if you like tasks, as I do, you have them, notes etc all on your screen no harder to get to than scrolling home in TF3D
Oh and also if you wallpaper it with the same image you hardly know you are in and out of TF
Yeah I can definately recommend SecondToday too
Integrating Task-list to TouchFlo3d
I've been looking around a while, and so far with no luck for a fix for this.
So, the question is: Was the call log tab discovered in TouchFlo3D a pre-coded and hidden tab, or was it coded from scratch?
As far as I remember, it was discovered... But it was coded from scratch, can someone prep a task-tab for the TouchFlo3D?
This will be interesting, if only i was a programmer.
looking forward to this realese if someone would be willing enough, you are my heros
HI,
I solved that issue installing the Second Today application and using the Pocket Breeze plugin.
But I would also like to view the Tasks in a Native Touch Flow Tab.
Regards,
Jose
A tab with task and appointment info sure would be nice to have...
Tasks tab for Touchoflo 3D
Has anyone developed a new tab for Touchflo 3D (like they did for Call History) that would work with tasks? It would be great to be able to view and change the status of tasks on the fly...
Hey there! Remember I posted a similar thread for a while ago, didn't get any solutions then, but maybe this time
AFAIK the "recent calls" tab of TF3D hasn't been developed by anyone here. It was always there, right from HTC - just not used.

QUESTION - Contacts Page
Is there an alternative "Contacts Page" that can be used. It is really hard to find contacts using the existing contact page and just not "smart" for a smart phone. Are there programs out there that adjust this page's view, features, and functionality?
I have attached a picture of my contact page.
I appreciate the info and look forward to learning about this. Thanks!

thanks. i installed it and it is interesting and definetely easier to navigate around and take advantage of the touch screen.
One question. Can it be integrated with mobile shell or is the only way to access it is to click on the mobile shell menu tab --> programs --> either click the program or I pined OR click on programs icon and then the icon for icontact
It just seems that everything has so many extra steps then needed to get to anything.
I wish the Contacts button (bottom right above the X in the circle) on the attached image could go to icontact and not the crappy current contact screen (image also attached)
