QUESTION - Contacts Page
Is there an alternative "Contacts Page" that can be used. It is really hard to find contacts using the existing contact page and just not "smart" for a smart phone. Are there programs out there that adjust this page's view, features, and functionality?
I have attached a picture of my contact page.
I appreciate the info and look forward to learning about this. Thanks!

thanks. i installed it and it is interesting and definetely easier to navigate around and take advantage of the touch screen.
One question. Can it be integrated with mobile shell or is the only way to access it is to click on the mobile shell menu tab --> programs --> either click the program or I pined OR click on programs icon and then the icon for icontact
It just seems that everything has so many extra steps then needed to get to anything.
I wish the Contacts button (bottom right above the X in the circle) on the attached image could go to icontact and not the crappy current contact screen (image also attached)

By any chance is anyone aware of a SIMPLE speed dial application (with large buttons) that normally would reside on the today screen. Something along the lines of a picture speed dial or something that takes the name of the contact and makes it large (i.e. finger friendly) and just lists like 5-10 contacts. It has to be an application that normally is a today screen plugin. My goal here is to have a tab within pocket plus that contains this today plugin.
Thanks for the help guys. I've been searching, but have yet to find anything short of a total today screen replacement (which I DON'T want).
quick dialer
Plus has a photo contact option within it. You can set up a tab just for your photo contacts and put whatever photo contacts that you want in it. You can spread them out for whatever spacing you want. That is what I have in one of PP tabs.
By any chance can you point in the right direction to this application (Quick Dialer)? I didn't a forum search, but can't find it readily.
Thank you.

Anyone else know where I can get this "Quick Dialer" the previous poster alluded to?
Thank you.
I use SPB mobile shell and their today plug-in. Pending how you set it up you can have two dial tabs with 5 contacts each. Finger friendly and practical.

How about this I attached a pic of the tab with 15 tabs for picture tabs for easy finger access.

mcmexican,
That's nice. Not quite what I'm looking for though.
The closest thing I've found to what I'm looking for is actually the Treo 700W speed dial cab (which allows you to select Pictures, or text buttons). I like to use the text buttons (but wish they were a bit bigger), but I wish when I hit the button it asked me if I wanted to send an SMS or call a different number.
Anyone else have any suggestions? Can anyone point me to the app the birdheh mentioned (Quick Dialer)?
Thank you.
By the way... here's a picture of my current speed dial/weather tab illustrating what I like:
I'd like my HTC home page to show the actual tasks, not just how many there are. Can anyone tell me how to accomplish this, either via registry tweaking or plug-ins? TIA

Look at SPB mobile shell and see if it was you are looking for.
Is there a good iPhone-like contact app out there that is smoothing that the built in one?
I know there have been some in the past like iContact and PocketCM, do these work good on the Fuze (TP)?
Is there a better one?
iContacts don't work quite well yet with Raphael devices as it require advance graphics that VGA screen can't handle very good.
You should try O3Touch that is a very nice dailer that has realy cool way to find contacs.
www.O3Touch.com
icontact burt edition seems to work better than supbro's version...while its not as smooth as it is on qvga...its acceptable
u just have to change the qvga skin to a vga skin
iContact burt 6.45 works flawless just load a VGA skin.
Is there a way to when you choose "all people" in TF3D that it goes to iContacts?

AFAIK some rather complicated reg hack to do this. Why don't you assign it to the left or right softkey via reg edit
Search for LSK or RSK - you'll figure out how it works.

You can use a program called SSMaPa to replace the standard contacts program called by TF3D with any other .exe you want. It can also replace calendar, mail, camera, etc... It's not real user friendly, but you shouldn't have too much trouble with it. Just make sure you disable touchflo when you're changing the settings. It's not a big deal if you forget, but you'll get an ugly looking error and have to do it all over again.
Making Contacts better
I solved the problem with contacts by just simply making the horizontal scroll bar wider so it can be used with fingers If not mistaken the valu e was something like 60 I guess helps also in programs list to scroll down without accidentaly selecting a program or as in contacts list calling someone you just do not want to . Only slight drawback is that in last call list the time gets slightly behind the scroll bar and in appointments also the time miute digits are halfway behind the scroll bar otherwise just fine
is it just me or does contacts not scroll well. it seems like when your selecting a city for weather or a program when you hit all programs it scrolls great. Is there a tweak or hack or just another program that has a more user friendly interfacefor contacts?
I have this, which is very good

If you like you can change the softkey "All Contacts" to run another aplication.
So you can run for example icontacts. For do this you need to use this programm but is abit difficult if you dont know many things
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407777
Most People change ths softkey "phone" to run "icontact". This can be done easely by many tweaking programs like "advanced configurations" and other programs .
I downloaded that program but contacts is not an option

Thanks oodles! I was trying to get Opera mini to handle RSS but:
a) it didn't allow me to group them so I could separate them by content (text vs audio) and frequency (I keep a list of ~40 RSS feeds and have annotated them by their update frequency)
b) I couldn't edit the names
c) it didn't work on the BBC Newspod feed
RSS Hub solves all of those and the interface is elegant. Thanks again!
RSS hub help with scrolling
Hello, I was wondering if anyone using RSS hub has found it annoying to scroll while in an open feed.
Usually, I open a feed to an article I wish to read. The short blurb doesn't cut it so I wish to scroll done to, "Read More Online...". But when I attempt to scroll to the bottom, it doesn't scroll, rather it highlights the words.
Is there a way to smart scroll within the feed that is still open by RSS hub?
Thanks for reading guys.

well, are you only lightly pressing, cause that is the exact thing that happens. you really have to push it down for the flick scrolling to kick in. otherwise you will highlight...
or try yomomedia which is actually a lot nicer
nope not light touch
@ Vader165
Nope, not light touch, regardless if I press hard or not, when the feed is open with RSS Hub, it just highlights. Any solutions?
@ Kwill
Yomomedia is actually quite nice interface. As much as it is aesthetically pleasing, it takes a while to load. However, I think I will have to use this, if I am not able to smart scroll in RSS Hub.

I’m guessing your running a WM 6.5 ROM? If so this is normal behavior and cannot be fixed. The kinetic scrolling of 6.5 breaks the touchflo in certain apps and the RSS Hub happens to be one of them. I always just have to use the side scroll bars to scroll through an article. I enlarge the width of my vertical scroll bars using Advanced config and it makes it a lot easier.
Great tip

Great tip. I went on and employed this and it makes using the RSS Hub under 6.5 a lot better.
One more question, if you don't mind Climber, is there a way to move the scroll bar to the left, for lefties like me?
Thanks for the tip again!

Sorry but as far as I know this is not possible. You would think that Microsoft would have added this option considering that not everyone is right handed.
you could use the new version of Rss hub, newsbreak. i have it and i love it because it actually does podcasts. and well.
SPB Online
I just downloaded SPB Online, which contains an RSS reader and the "touchflo" scrolling works in article view. As a matter of fact, this is the best RSS reader I have ever used. It's not free, but if you access your RSS reader as often as I do it's well worth the money.
