its what ur phone uses to transmit to ur provider

1. What's the best car that I can buy for my budget? It depends on MY tastes. This question is really invalid. Try and try and try again, you'll only find what you like after test driving it.
2. This is NOT a ROM development related thread. Please do not post it under the ROM development forum.

I'm using the updated ATT Tilt ROM. Too suspicious of other ROMs being unstable/bricking my phone, heh. It's working alright so far, no problems.
Man, how many people are gonna ask this question?
Everybody must have answered threads like this 100 times already...
And for the record, why would you think flashing a cooked ROM would Brick your device? Flashing ANY ROM could brick your device just as easy as a Standard Network ROM. It doesn't matter if you flash AT&T's or a chefs, it's all just as risky.
If you want to know what ROM people use, check their Sig's on other threads, it's easier. And chances are, they all got their ROM's of this site.

A nOObie question...request you to please answer....

Heyy... Just got one question guyz... I am from India and all these official ROMs are for UK/Europe or HK....I just wanted to know whether flashing any of these ROMS (i would be flashing the english version) can bring any harm to my HD as I am confused as to whether each radio/ rom upgrade caters to different geographic parts or what? Plz answer my query. Thx in advance
well i have been flashing different ROMs and upgraded various radio versions no problems faced so far
A ROM Update is independent from your current geographical location, but it could harm your phone. It is just an software update like to update your Windows.
But the Radio-ROM is region-specific, so you have to try which works the best for you or simply just stick to your current one.

As long as you have either USPL or HSPL on your device you can flash any HD rom. Think of the latest roms as upgrades from stock roms. These are not country or region specific and will work on all HD's.
Only thing you have to look out for is the radio. Some roms come with radio's built in, for example Duttys latest roms come with radio 1.14 built in. Radio's are country/region specific and signal/reception will be different. Good news is that you can flash any radio you want after you have flashed the rom. All available radio's are in the wiki here. If you read up on radio thread you shoud be able to determine which is best for your country by the responses of people which use it.
Good luck!!

Help Please, Whats the best stable fast ROM out there!?

hello i am sort of a noob on flashing phones, i just got my T-MOBILE Touch Pro 2, im very pleased with it, i downloaded the EURO WM 6.5 and..3G wouldnt work..and my keyboard mapping was wrong, i switched back to TMO Stock ROM, now i am look for the best stable fast running fun ROM,
ive seen many impressive ROMS outhere, but again im a noob, iam looking for a ROM that supports TMO 3G as in CoralSprings FL i have full 3G signal, please i would really appriciate your help, thanks in advance..
It all depends on what you install and what you use your phone way. Best way to find out is to read ROM threads, and flash and enjoy. Just make sure you have HardSPL before you flash custom ROM.
Mate I'm a complete noob as well.....
You just posted the same thread two days ago.
People posted help there.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=572868&highlight=tmobile+keyboard
now go here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550559&highlight=tmobile+keyboard
It has all the T-mobile keyboard fixes.
Now you can use any ROM you like.
Don't ask people for the "best" or "most stable" ROM. Cause nobody knows what "the best" or "most stable ROM" is. It will depend on your own personal taste and situation. Give 'em a try and find something you like.
Oh and finally. I started on the Touch Pro 2 a couple of days ago. Had never used a WINMO phone before, never flashed, applied a cab, or anything. Although I've managed to do all of the above with a bit or "searching" and reading of this forum. Use the "Search" tool, it's excellent. And only ask a question if you've searched and searched and searched and still can't find the answer.
Best of luck
HDSPL then flash them all and you will find one that fits for you.
ikno guys, i already hardspl, but idont want to keep flashing and flashing, but yea isee what you guys mean, im downloading the energy rom, looks pretty cool, and alot support for TMO users,

No problem, that's the way to start and that's how we all started.
ooo yeah i had 4gten bout that post, sorry,
so i also read that the 3G depends on ur radio, can u guys help with that? please,
I haven't heard about that because my 3G worked right out the box with stock radio.
But I have the latest HTC and it seems to be working real well. Also read positive posts about it so give it a try.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4360836&postcount=2
BTW, their is NO WAY to return back to the stock radio once you flashed a new radio. UNTIL someone finds a way to release it to us.
wel mine too, but when i had the custom rom, it didnt work.
Please find your own ROM, today's best might nott be tomorrows best, and you might not like what someone else likes.

Do i need to HardSPL for an already unlocked Phone

Hi.. I bought my touch pro 2 from Dubai.. n i can use any Sim... so wanted to know if i need to HardSPL my fone again..... or can i directly flash the desired ROM... its my first time with a windows Fone ( first time flashing n stuff ).. so m a bit nervous about brciking my phone....
one more thing.... any suggestions for a decent ROM... i only need n custom ROM for good themes.... n some games... dont do a lot with my phone.....
thanx for ur help in advacne ppl...
Yes you do need hardspl. as for a ROM only you can decide that. NRG, DeepShining, Athine are stable/reliable i prefer those myself. Youll have to try and decide. flashing is relatively safe just make you read carefully the instructions. and allways task 29 first before flashing a new rom. you will have to enter bootloader(hold volume down and power while resetting) to flash after task 29 from windows or flash from sd card.
Have fun!
as MrBox said, its required to flash HARD SPL and before performing a flash of a custom ROM on to your phone always use task29
with that said, can a moderator please move this thread to the General section?
thank u all...... Will give it a try now......
there was 1 more thing that i wanted to know.....
Do i need a ROM specific as per my country and the network...... I live in India and use iDEA (dnno if u guys hve heard abt it )... just for info... i bought it in UAE.....
look for wwe or nor whatever your lang is. as for setup should automatically detect carrier
You are confusing being SIM-unlocked (which your phone already is), and being able to flash ROMs that weren't designed for your specific branding/region of phone (e.g. official ROMs from another region, or cooked ROMs from this forum). They are two totally separate things. To be able to do the latter, you'll need HardSPL, as has been said.
Questions answered.
Could you please post any more questions in the Guide by mskip or in the general / Q&A forums? The ROM development sub-forum is for development of ROM issues / releases, rather than flashing help / support.
Thanks,
Dave

The beauty of it is there are many ROMS to chose from, and the captivate is pretty much unbrickable (trust me, I've screwed up about 20 times in the past month alone) and I've brought it back to a working phone every time, so try flashing one or two, see how you like it.
The reason you can't find any threads on " what the best rom is " is because the best rom doesn't exist. The features I find to suit my needs may not suit yours.
Do you want a 2.2 rom? There are many of those to choose from, all stable.
Maybe a 2.3 rom, the newest samsung leaks, a few different features from 2.2
Since you're a beginner I don't recommend flashing ICS , those are still in beta form, thats just a brick waiting to happen.
So, pick a rom and read what it offers, if it fits those needs flash it, play with it for a few days if you don't like it flash your second choose, but seriously. READ READ READ, watch some of the videos that accompany the rom before you do anything, thats the best advice I can give you.
Be sure to Read all of the "Sticky" Threads... they have this stuck to them... View attachment 843677

I updated my phone to 2.3 few days ago.My bro said those custom roms are better, faster, etc... CM7.1 is good choice ?
I've never flashed CM7 so I can't give you an evaluation on it, some like it, some don't.
Darkyrom
Try darkyrom. It's super easy to flash, gives great battery life and is smooth as butter. Just go to darkyrom.com and under the forum section, go to base roms and download the JVP base, extract it and run odin, the rest of instructions are all in the forum =)
