Does anyone know of a good water-proof housing for the 6800? I am planning a fishing trip in a few weeks and it would be great to be able to safely bring it. It would also be a bonus if the phone were still usable while in the housing. Thanks!
A good quality ziplock bag should work pretty good, and if you turn the volume all the way up it should be usable from inside the bag. Or use a cheap bluetooth headset, so if it falls in the water you won't be out to much.

Water Proof Housing..
I noticed no one gave a product link to a water proof case for the Titan..well I remember seeing it a while back and thought I'd post the link.

I emailed them to see who makes this and it is none other then Otterbox. Its the Otterbox 2600 series (universal PDA holder) so it works for a lot of them.
Do you know how big that thing would be if you put this in there? I mean are you deep sea diving with the thing? Seems a ziploc would do wonders to keep moisture out.
Geez-a-lou, that thing has been shown being driven over by a truck and surviving.
Boat Owner Here
I can also confirm the easiest way to go is the ziplock bag. I usually use the double zipper double lined freezer bag. We throw my Titan, my Wife's Touch and my Bro-N-Law's iPhone in there. Never had a problem with it. Just takes a moment to unzip it to get to your phone if you need to make a call. Though if you are doing deep sea fishing it won't matter as you won't have cell service after a couple miles out. So save the money and use a zippy. Honest it is the smart way to go.
haha, I understand..but I figured if someone really wants to go a step further or I don't know..want to spend the money for something like it..there's the option right above us, just thought it might "help" in some cases
I did and I appreciate. I actually needed this too. So I bought it at Provantage yesterday. Only $25 and shipping I picked the slowest, it already shipped and is arriving today!

If you have any questions furrycnorm just ask away (when I use it). I will definetly use it next week where I am going.
I would love to see that thing in a belt holster.
It worked great! Yeah its big but obviously not for normal daily use.
I just got the otter box 1900 of ebay for 9.99 + ~$20 shipping if anyone is interested. Going on my V-Strom for music, navagation and calls.

When I go motorcycling I toss it into a cheap ziplock bag. If you use a "snack sized" bag then there's not a lot of extra plastic hanging around but it's too small to be slid open in the bag so you have to take it out to use the hardware keyboard. Touchscreen keyboard works fine though. If you use a "sandwich sized" bag then even the hardware keyboard can be used without removing it from the bag. I have never tried to place a call through the bag but it would probably work fine. A sandwich sized ziplock combined with a cheap bluetooth headset would be ideal.
I think the ziplock bags have it!!!

I got a RAM AquaBox for mine when I'm on the motorcycle. I plumbed in a charging cord. Bluetooth music etc.
Bad idea. The phone gets EXTREMELY hot if the sun is shining. So hot, it shuts down the internal battery charger and weakened my battery.
So if you put it in a box/bag, etc., where the suns heat will get trapped, do NOT run a charge cable to it.
I've seen the overheating thing before in the car on a hot day but I live on the coast of the north Atlantic. Overheating on a motorcycle would be an amazing thing according to how cold my fingers can get, lol. I'd be more concerned about the cold!
Seriously tho, I'll keep my eye on it. Thanks for the heads up.

What is your preferred method of carrying around your phone?
I use a belt clip. I find it keeps the phone well protected, plus it makes it easier to get it when I'm sitting down, then if were in my pants pocket. I also really like the clip I'm using, It has a holder for an extra stylus, an SD card, and a credit card, which makes it very practical.

Nevermind the device itself, what about the things that go with it
I find the original HTC case clipped to my belt is fine for the TyTN II itself or otherwise I just put it uncased in my shirt pocket. As far as carrying all the other bits and pieces to go with it though, I'm unable to find anything really suitable so I've started this thread over in the General Accessories forum.
A old 3G iPod belt case. Slips in easily, looks better than the AT&T "purse" case on the belt.

Had it in my pocket but I broke it when I bumped into a metal rail. I'm afraid this could happen again so easily. I need to start putting the screen facing inward against my leg.
Dockers made to tote the tilt
I purchased Dockers with a lower thigh zip pocket designed for a phone. That's right, I purchase my wardrobe around my phone.
I put mine in a metal case then put it in my pocket so as not to break the screen.
pants pocket...back cover facing outwards...camera lens cover on the back cover WILL definitely get scratched within a month of such usage but i just can't/won't use a belt clip
i have a strap tethered to the device and that dangles out my pocket so it is easier to pull the device out when needed
I've got one of these things to tote all my gadgetry. Works like a charm! ^_^

that thing came with my store bought TYTN 2 but i can't/won't/don't use it cuz i can't stand it when i have to keep things outside my pants pockets...guess i'll sell that htc branded belt clip case for the even lower price of $19.99
Simply kept in my pocket, battery cover facing outwards to protect the screen from damage. I have an anime cell phone charm attached to the end of the phone, so that dangles out of my pocket for easier access.

Anybody have an invisible shield installed on their Droid 3? I just got mine in the mail today and i tried putting it on but the corners on the back keep popping up...I really dont want to pull it up and try to reinstall because I already ran out of the solution they gave me and had to use some leftover from my Touch Pro2's install kit. Any advice is helpful Thanks
Yes I had the same problem. I think I fixed it by starting at one corner of the phone, holding it down for a few seconds and slowly moving all over the outer edge. There are a few spots that curl up but it looks good.
It sucks, I think it took me an hour to get it how I felt comfortable it would not peel off.
Just keep working at it. It feels like they rushed production and it does not fit the phone the correct way.
Sent from my DROID3
yeah for all my other phones the corners were cut so the side flap folded down and the top flap had an extra edge so u could fold it up and wrap the extra peice around the corner. it looks like this one the corners are just rounded...i tried the 'palming' method and it's working but still peels up after a while. I'm trying to be patient but it's still rather annoying.
If you ran out of the solution you can just fill it up with water, the manual says up to 3 times or so. Its just soap and water.

Wow, that's crazy haha. I guess I should practice reading the manuals more, after doing it so many times I just take out the plastic and start going to work. This was the first time i got a refillable bottle though, maybe it's something new they do?
On another note...
As an update, i ended up taking it to a zagg kiosk at the mall and i must say, I wish i had done that to begin with. I really didn't see how their installation could be so amazing but it was FLAWLESS...I kind of wish I had stayed and watched her do it instead of walking around the mall. Maybe I could have learned her secrets so I could make it look that good myself next time around haha.
These pics were taken within 5 minutes of leaving the mall. No bubbles at all, and all corners stayed down.

It cost $10 for the install but i think it was worth it. If it ever peels i can go get it replaced for free.
I was thinking about getting one of the invisible shields, but they seemed a bit expensive, and with a $10 applying fee (I doubt I'll be able to get it on) that's a lot for a protective film. Just wondering if other people think they're worth the price.
I think it's definitely worth the price IF you use your phone like me. I refuse to put it in a hard case and always keep in in my pocket, so it basically eliminates scratches and prevents drops because it adds a better grip/feel to the phone. Especially when taking it out of my pocket there's a chance of it slipping out of my fingers so the full body works for me. Even if you do use a case, though, the screen protector is probably a good idea. It's the best one but since it's thicker some people don't like it. I got used to it on my Touch Pro and since then i've never noticed it being hard to slide my finger on the screen. It's all up to preference basically, but there's a reason why you get multiple protectors with the cheaper versions vs. 1 with invisible shield. It just works.
Also search online for online coupons, i used Zagg20 to get a 20% discount, so all together with the install it was a little over $30. Either way you get a lifetime warranty, but if you don't get it installed by them you have to remove, ship, and reinstall the new invisible shield yourself (they reimburse for shipping) and I didn't want to struggle with the back again.
hi guys.
I am thinking to take my note2 on Holiday and planning to do some scuba diving. Also i dont have a camera, and planning to use n7100 underwater for pictures.
Looking for a Waterproof Case Pouch, transparent and with ability to use touch screen.
Maybe anyone knows does such thing exists ? ? ? ? ?
found few on ebay , but not sure if i would be able to use touch screen with it.

Thank you for all your comments. :good:
I really dont think its worth the hassle and risk. they sell cheap underwater cameras. You really need to weigh the cost of water damaging your phone.
I haven't bought it myself, but it looks very good.
WinnerGear Waterpoorf Skin
Pros
completely waterproof
can use touchscreen (not under water)
reusable (limited times)
comes with water sensor
Cons
cannot access any ports including the S-Pen
when under water, the water pressure against the screen sometimes pushes virtual buttons. (I know this because there was a video review)
can't change battery
I looked for the video, but couldn't find it. But here is a decent one.

OP said he wanted to use while scuba diving... not sure that a $0.50 Ziploc bag is the proper investment to protect a $700 phone.
You can try something like this: www.drycase.com/waterproof_Smartpho...tphones_waterproof_cases_for_Smartphones.html
It's rated to withstand underwater pressure up to 100 feet for up to an hour.

I have an aquapac for my old phone. Haven't checked to see if they make a bigger one that would fit the note 2 but on my g2 it worked great. Actually, I got it for my g1. Been using it a few years now.
I'm a bit delirious now...normally work early mornings but have been working late nights the past 4 days. Now that I think of it...my note 2 did fit in my aquapac. I tried it one of the first days I had the phone..to take hurricane pics.
Should be aquapac.com
I've used it at water parks, in hurricanes, and best of all, while snorkeling in Hawaii! Touch screen works fine, but underwater it's not quite right because of the temperature I guess.
Makes you miss the hardware camera button....
I'm rambling. Tired. What I'm trying to say is... check out aquapac..they make great cases and have a good warranty/guarantee.

I'm pretty certain that even the well known branded pouches, wouldn't cope with the depths you would go to when scuba diving, the screen wouldn't even be responsive when fully submerged anyway.
I use an overboard pouch which I use when go on hikes and use memory map on my phone for navigating, that pouch is waterproof but again, there is a limit these things are rated to.

Winner Waterproof Skin looks cool, but it is only for 2 meters under water. while Dry Case is for 30 meters or 100 feet.
Thinking about both of them combined together for safety.
but than 39.99$ + 19.99$ - nearly 60$ just for few underwater pictures ??????
can get something like this and forget about all the hassle with my note. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4GB-Under...Cameras_DigitalCameras_JN&hash=item4600fc5259
DryCase
Using a DryCase you will be able to take pictures/videos underwater without any risk for your phone and you will still be able to use the screen. The case is crystal clear which will enable you to take pictures and videos as if the phone weren’t in a case. Plus, the case is waterproof up to 100 feet which is perfect for scuba diving.
You can find DryCase at: drycase.com
Semi-related: I dove with my Garmin watch a number of times and all was well - in spite of exceeding the rated depth and duration. Until it wasn't all well. Then I had a useless running watch when I got back on land in Oz. Truly a bummer. I'm glad I only dove with a camera with a proper dive case; it would have been a helluva shame to kill my phone.
iOttie has waterproof skin too: http://iottie.com/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=1011&ProductType=320
but you have to keep in mind that it has finite number of uses since you have to take it on'n'off every time to charge up the phone. So it will probably last you 4-5 times or so. Still a good alternative when you are on vacation, have your battery fully charged, and want to take your phone to the beach!
Has anyone else bought this? I'm a bit disapointed in it. XDA has turned off search so I couldn't search for similar threads.
On Amazon they picture the buckle fitting like this. Clearly reaching out and over the entire edge and holding on tight from under.

Mine, fits like this. It's as snug as a bug in the case and no more pressure or pushing is going to make it any better. The buckle just doesn't clasp correctly
I have that case, and it only happens for me when the lower corners are not fully seated (depressed) in their holders. I know you said it is snug as a bug, and if that is the case, yours is definitely made different as mine clasps as in the first photo.
Thanks.. It's clearly defective.
I opened the case up and just put the N10 on it so there is 0% chance of anything keeping it from closing how it was intended.
It clearly is made wrong. There is no way that is clasping no matter what. Pisses me off. $15 product and they know most people won't go through the trouble of going somewhere to ship it back, paying for shipping (and then waiting for them to credit you back) and hope they get it right the second time.. It still holds, especially with the little elastic strap but I'd prefer that extra little security.. Oh well..
I have no luck with cases. My Moko case for the N7 had the magnet improperly placed and the smart cover feature never worked. (it did work though I tested it with a magnet)
Looks like that clasp isn't bent enough. The rigid material underneath is probably plastic whereas metal could perhaps be bent a little more to adjust the fit. Bummer.
I massaged down strip of foam that runs on that edge there and it's sliding over better. Not like in their photo but it's more than it originally was.. It's usable and think once the foam softens up a bit more it'll be even better.
It stays shut and is protected ... Others have complained about the same thing in reviews: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A6X3ZM6/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
I see the complaints you're talking about. I'd send a picture of mine, but it's at home. I have to sort of flex the cover down while pulling up a bit on the hook to get it closed. The fit is rather tight, so I am trying to lessen the wear of repeated use. When closed the lid dips down just slightly at the hook. It would be a hassle to return. Maybe they would acknowledge a quality control problem and send a free replacement under the 3-year warranty? You're certainly not alone as Amazon attests.
I'm sorry to hear that. Mine fits perfectly. Smart Cover works pretty well to although I'm not used to it yet. My only complain is that while playing with it, the device gets hotter than usual.
I remember that in the beginning the inner tabs were very tight so I bent them to be able to remove the device more easily. I know it's difficult with that tab particularly. You can try using a heater if it's in fact plastic.
Silly question, did you move the elastic band so it's on the outside when closing the case?
Just ordered my Nexus 10 this morning and seriously considering this case...Should I do it? How reliable is their warranty if the case starts peeling or something? Should I worrya bout the tablet getting scratched while putting it on or getting it in kickstand mode so I can type on it in class?
Thanks!
In my modest opinion, the case is awesome. I own mine for about two months now. To be honest, I don't care about the warranty for a 15$ thing except if you have to return it because it's clearly defective.
I like the case, but I found another one in Amazon that I might like better. If I find it again I'll tell you.

I'd say do it. I wasn't going to use a case at all, but I realized I needed one for travel. I really liked that this one didn't have a bezel. I thought I'd use it just for travel, but I've never taken it off.
I mean, I mainly use the nexus without it, especially for gaming. But exactly, I need it for carrying it in the backpack. And the stand functionality is awesome fit browsing. This is the third case I have of this type. I use another one with my note 2 and with the transformer before if this tablet.

As you can see it came with an Instructions Manual, the 2100mAH battery, warranty card, case and belt clip holder, and yes, even a PET film-type screen protector, all packaged inside the bag on the left.
Instructions, which were fairly detailed:
The case:
It is made out of TPU, which feels a little cheaper than I would expect for a "premium" case. (My Otterbox Defender's rubber feels MUCH nicer) Despite the "cheap" feeling, it holds together very well and actually doesnt detract from the overall feel too much. All in all, I'd say I like it. It holds the phone securely and there isn't any rattling or loose feeling.
I'm impressed with how rugged it feels.
Putting it together is fairly straight forward although there are some extra steps outside of your normal layered case.
Size comparison to Otterbox Defender:
A view of the battery port and included cable:
Assembled:
Charging Port:
So far, it has charged the phone like it should and when plugged in, charges the phone FIRST, and the external battery SECOND.
The one issue I've encountered, is the phone detects the lower amperage as a charging problem/slow charge:
It also fits well with my .33mm thick tempered glass screen protector.
The physical buttons feel fantastic! They have a great tactile feel which is very rare in a case.
Overall, it's a great case, but I think $49 is the MAX I'd pay for this case.
**NOTE: This case covers the IR emitter.**
Thanks for the review, very helpful. Can you please post a pic of the headphone jack? Will it need an extender to connect the headphones? Thanks
It looks like it depends on the shape and size of the connector. It will need to be thin. Like a Bose or Apple sized connector. I'll get pictures soon!
Also about the charging alert, it seems to charge with similar speed to the stock HTC charger (both are 5v/1amp, so it may detect some voltage fluctuation, giving the alert)
