Flash lite 3.1 [working][cab here] [repost] - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

Flash Lite V3.5 Cab!
It works! and its in a cab! Works in opera, youtube, google videos, some basic flash games!
For it to work:
*Opera and flash need to be installed in the SAME place (main memory or SD card)
*Be using the newest Opera Build, 1938 ( Upgrade cab here)
*Have WM6.1 Core 20000+ (Some 19000+ builds work, and some WM6 work, but it seems to be a bit unreliable - WM5 will not work atm)
*Do NOT Use the official beta, it DOES NOT WORK
*Remove all other version of flash first, it will not work if they are installed/cooked into your rom
Other:
*If you want to uninstal it, its called Anryl My Mobile Application
*This does not seem to work with IE
*This will NOT work with opera Mini
*This does not seem to work on netfront
*The Null keyboard cab attached is to deal with the problem with the virtual keyboard poping up when you click on a flash vid, its a bit messy but works for the time being.
*Wont work with WM standard untill there is a version of opera 9.5 for it. (unless there is?)
*You may need to hard reset in order for this to work, but pleases try both cabs first
Working on (for some people):
*Hermes CRCV13 nakes BS (me)
*prophet
*Kaiser
*might be other I have missed
Geting it:
*First post about it + 4shared link
*Attached to this post
Report back:
Did it work?
What device?
What build of Opera are you using?
What build is your rom?
Are you using anryl's cab (attached to this post) or Dvha79_ddt's (links just below)?
I did not rip this, I just posted the info here for everyone
All credit to anryl for extracting it!
We have another Cab!
See here
All credit to dvha79_ddt for this one!
Can you give feedback if ones more stable than the other ect!
(This repost was request by a member of the Kaiser forum, [email protected].)

Hey Veyka,
I have just rebuilt my Kaiser (see below for ROM and setup), as my preferred ROM has Opera (build 1780) included, I installed the "Opera_95_1938_update_only.CAB" found on this thread onto my device main memory.
I then installed the "Dvha79_AdobeFlash3.1_plugin" (again found on this thread) onto my device main memory.
Using the Opera browser I opened up Google, went to their video page, and the top left embedded video played quickly and clearly.
Thanks to you and all involved in the development.
I am very happy. This works very well.
Regards,
J

Glad its working for you! Probs better than it is on my ikkle old Hermes

Cool! Looking forward to testing this out shortly.
Rob

I tried it on my tilt with the official 6.1...Nice job man...Youtube worked great with Opera...My only problem now is that I can't keep my coworker's hands off my tilt...Get ur own tilt, demet...

Hi,
Did it work?
on google video(video from youtube) and daily motion yes but not on youtube !!
What device?
What build is your rom?
Kaiser wm 6.1(Build 19212.1.0.3) see signature
What build of Opera are you using?
build1957 installed on sd card
Are you using anryl's cab
yes
What is strange in opera:
if i switch from google mobile version to classic
and i click on the top video link, i choose a video
it works but not smoothly(i guess buffer worry),
and note it's a (from) youtube video
but if i go to youtube, from opera and i click on any video proposed
the video isnt opened in opera browser but in an external application
(translated from french) HTC streaming media("Media en continu" V2.2 217.821 compilation) and that player shows a "network not found"
and if i click on the bottom left "connect" button, it shows a top field with a "blank url"
"rtsp:// "
so the youtube video isnt played !
Did you encounter that problem?
Another big problem linked to the video not running smoothly
my free ram '"stockage" is decreasing from 10mb to zero and then opera/wm6.1 pops up an error message "not enough free ram"
why isnt the video buffered to the sdcard instead of the device?
any help welcome
Regards

thanks for the post...! quick question though...how can i remove previous flash from my phone (omnia stock rom...no upgrades) and back it up?

I can't seem to get this to work right. When I load up youtube, the video box is displayed, but the video doesn't play. It will either stay blank or show static lines. I am using Sakajati's NOV 15 ROM if that helps...

you must make sure that the dll file is in the plugin folder in your opera9 dir in windows..i had this problem and tried EVERY SINGLE ROM and i found out i loast this file somewhere down the like..download an older version (1938) and extract the dll from the windows\opera9\plugins folder from the cab

here you go..make sure its in windows/opera9/plugins

Thanks for posting the file...but it didn't work. It wants to work, but the videos aren't playing correctly. I wonder if the ROM I am using has flashlite cooked in, I'll have to test this later.

HP iPAQ 211 Enterprise edition (Stupid HP, not doing the WM 6.1 update):
WM 6 Classic
I wasn't sure of my Opera 9.5 build, so it went like this:
(Tests performed on YouTube and Google video)
Install and try Anryl -> fail both
Soft reset
Try Anryl again -> fail both
Uninstall Anryl
Used the 1938 update cab
Install and try Anryl (again) -> fail both
Uninstall Anryl
Install and try Dvha -> fail both
Fail means:
Google Video: black with no video playback
YouTube: the message about JavaScript turned off or old Flash displays.
How would a hard reset help? Last time I did that ('cause my device was tweaking out), all the data on it was lost. How would losing all my data (and thus FlashLite 3.1) help me?

That folder does not exist on my device (mentioned previously: iPAQ 211).

So, do we have any surefire way to make it work on WM6?

So, using build 2392 of Opera, I got Flash Lite to work on www.spezzo.com and some flash games, but YouTube and Google Video do not work. The display is a bunch of colory lines, and says it gets a few secconds in, but stops. Any ideas? Thanks!

MIDlet Manager for T-Mobile 2.26 [CAB HERE]

Hi,
since i often use Opera Mini and Google Maps on my phone, i was really disappointed to find out that T-Mobile's latest rom, 2.26 aku2.3, missed it.
Luckily, i was able to extract a copy of Intent MIDlet Manager from MrClean 2.24 rom and create a CAB file out of it.
To install Intent MIDlet Manager on your phone simply download the attached CAB, copy it somewhere on your device and run it. The installer won't ask you wheter to install it on storage card or not, it'll install on \windows in main storage. The program can be uninstalled if you don't like it.
Some info:
Intent Java(R) MIDlet Manager (TAO GROUP)
Runtime MIDP 2.0: v10.1.7.551 (build 20060317)
The program has been patched with the patch you can find inside latest MrClean ExtROM. Before patching it asked confirmation everytime you tried to use the Internet, now it asks only once.
If you now where (in which rom) you can find a more recent version, let me know and i'll produce a new CAB.
Download the Intent MIDlet manager version 10.1.7.551
Note: this version, 10.1.7.551, has been obsoleted by the new 11.1.7.1023.
The new version supports google satellite maps, sms and softkey in Opera Mini and add the JTWI compliance (in addition to MIDP 2.0).
I strongly suggest to install the new version instead of the one in this post.
The new version is available HERE

Are you sure it didn't install? I'm going through the T-Mobile extended ROM and it's in there.
I installed this. Opera mini works fine but Google maps is very problamatic. The new version that shows traffic is not working at all. I have to kill it through the memory option.
Anyone else having this problem?

still crashing
The install of the midlet manager seemed to run fine; did a soft reset and was able to bring up an address on google maps...but now both menus are non-responsive....has anyone got this to work on the MDA without crashing ? Oh I need to Update my signature, I just installed the new T-Mobile 2.26 ROM last night (which is working great - except for this)

Hi,
I almost forgot about this but i was using this on my axim x50.

Download the one for windows mobile 5.0 from here:

I installed the regular midp 1.1 and it works fine so far. I have been testing my google maps applet via active sync for the past few mins and it actually doesn't crash or hasn't i should say. It even shows traffic which I don't really understand as I don't know what the different colors mean. But it works better then the intent one.

Could you possibly upload just the WM5 cab file for this new IBM J9 version? That would avoid having to go through IBM registration, and installing a large installer file to desktop. Would be appreciated. Thank you.

Can't install gmail.jad midlet on Kaiser...

Anyone managed to install gmail.jad from gmail.com/app on Kaiser?
I've tried 3 different jvms - to no avail... Results in error messages saying the .jad is invalid. Kaiser not supported yet?
do you have a midlet manager installed?
install the attached file and then try to install your java based app.

Thanks man,
Of course I do, I tried 3 different ones: Intent, IBM MIDP 2.0 and Esmertec JBed and none of these worked. Those were the midlet managers that gave the error messages actually...
Just tried your version of Esmertec JBed, and I WAS ABLE TO INSTALL the gmail.jad midlet with the help of it! Still it won't run for some reason though... Guess I gotta do some more digging...
Thanks!
Have you made any progress in your search?
I had a similar issue with the IBM MIDP a while back, so I'm interested to see if how you've fixed the problem.
Do you happen to use Dutty's ROM?
I just installed this one to test and it worked for me on my Kaiser.

i have no idea where you got that file, but please accept my sincere thanks!
Your welcome. I did a search on Google for the following: gmail.jad
I found the link for that file on the last hit of the first page of results.
I can confirm it works on a Mio Digiwalker A501 as well
thx!

can't find application
Hello! I successfully install the gmail.jar file and it runs quite well on my htc touch cruise. My problem is that after I close the application I can't find it anywhere in my file browser. The only way I can restart the app is to chose to reinstall the cab file, and then cancel the installation. After that it puts me to a folder called "Java" and there I can see the app and able to start. I think I should run Gmail through the previously installed the Cloudyfa_EsmertedJbed but I'm not able to find where it is installed on the device. Not even the search function is able to find it. Forgive me for being such a lamer and please help me !

i use it all the time on my kaiser with no problems.
goto gmail.com/app in PIE (only works in PIE) and follow the instructions. It auto downloads an appropriate jad. Has worked every time for me, regardless of rom (currently Dutty's 29/04)
It installed perfectly fine for me thru PIE, however (for the guy that couldnt find the install location programfiles>java>Gmail)
but it wont connect, cant seem to get into any settings or anything either.
Was hoping this would work better then setting up gmail thru the mail client, when looking for certain emails w/ attachments and ****, the regular client doesnt have enough options.
Anyway anyone else get this weird need data connection error?

Opera 9.5 build 1938

a on Diamond with the new build?
If so, what is the procedure?
Thx
I installed the CAB from here

I installed it straight over a stock 1.93 UK unbranded ROM. It worked fine, and is a noticeable improvement.

In what way is it noticeably improved?
Because there is Plenty of room for improvement over 9.5 build 1660 I have.
Presumably the zip file under Opera Build 1938 Upgrade: (Not Resloution Specific) which contains 3 exe files (Opera9, OperaL and OperaPreL) just need to be copied into the Windows directory overwriting the existing ones to upgrade the software to build 1938?
Has someone done this, If so what are the improvements?
Does this build of Opera include the auto rotate without using GSen?

But now you have 2 versions of Opera on your device no? AFAIK it doesn't replace the one on the ROM.
Answers:
logger - I find it snappier to use, more responsive, and I don't get black hole glitches anymore.
tmohammend - maybe you are right... it's not the version I installed though.
richardirv - yes it has autorotate
MAK11 - I'm not sure that this is right. I'm not even certain that Opera is actually in ROM. When I hard reset the device I see Opera being installed on the device along with Google Maps and the other software. How would this install process put it into ROM? I wonder if actually Opera is in RAM, it just doesn't have an add/remove entry.
But this is all speculation. Maybe one of those ROM cooker guys could tell us this.
What I do know is this: after installing Opera 1938 I seem to have about the same amount of RAM as before, I still have 43% used RAM on my Diamond running S2U2 according to the HTC task switcher, and I only see one instance of Opera in memory apps like mobilemonger.
Maybe you're right and I have two versions installed, but if that's true it's invisible to me and the sacrifice is certainly worth it for a much improved Opera!
Installed build 1938 and cant see any noticeable improvement over build 1660. Still has numerous annoying Opera "features" that drive me bonkers.
However I was never effected by black hole glitches.
I get an error message when trying to install build 1938, "installation unsuccesfull [...] does not have sufficient system permissions"
Trying to install the VGA CAB, have tried to install both to device and storage memory.
I've also tried to replace the 3 files in the "Not Resloution Specific"-version, but there is some kind of permission problem there too.
Am I doing something wrong?

Maybe I'm using language that's a bit too gushing. It's slightly improved, not transformed. It's not like it suddenly sped up to Google Chrome speed. (Wouldn't that be nice...)
Use the zip file containing uograde 3 files, but before copying, you will need to kill the processes Opera9.exe & OperaPreL.exe using a task manager. This will upgrade the current. But offcourse if you do a hard reset the old one will come back.
installed the upgrade, certainly feels quicker. No longer get the black hole bug i did on certain pages. Seems to detect me rotating to landscape better too

any Diamond owner using Stock rom has good experience with Opera 9.5 1938 + Flash 3.1

I am using stock rom that has Flash lite 2.1 and Opera 9.5 1660. I wonder if install the new Opera 9.5 1938 will over write the one from the stock rom.
also do the scroll wheel works on the new Opera?
Scroll wheel works here with 1938. But flash just doesn't do it for me, my whole device starts acting real slow when trying to watch a youtube video. The youtube player is good enough for me.
works here, but the processor get tired quick.
I can see on the data reception bar of the video that I'm in advance in terms of receiving datas, but the phone takes a lot of time to read and display the video...
It's laggy, but sometimes it's still bearable. Can play on google video and youtube. Works better on google.
thank you both, does it means I only need to install opera 9.5 1938 and flash lite 3.1 on top of the original ones? (the original one can't be uninstall)
I'm afraid this is the only way you can do if flash light 2.1 was already included in your ROM.
I just reflashed my device with a WWE version (previously I was using a French official one, without flashlight 2.1) and I noticed that flashlight is already in the WWE ROMS...
I just did the same, but I haven't tested out to see whether or not it still works this way.
I have a stock rom, with Opera 9.5 in the rom. I downloaded the new Opera 9.5 1938 cab,
VGA 1938 - Full Install to Device Memory

http://www.4shared.com/file/59303458...ified=6e3eb675
but it won't install DIRECTLY. A message dialog said the old version needed to be uninstalled first, should I click "OK"?
or should I download another cab,

I want to upgrade my opera buils too, do I need to overwrite the files I already have?
I downloaded the 1938 upgrade... but it's not a .cab ... just 3 files.
does anyone know? can't seem to find it anywhere.
I am absolutely shocked that there are no clear instructions on this matter. Sure we have a dozen user guides on how to get flash lite 3 working on the likes of Kaiser etc, but what about the HTC Diamond?
I have Opera vers. 1780 and alphazero ROM v2 and Flash 3.1 works Ok on my Diamond, it download and play the video without bugs, its delay something until the play starts, but the same can happens in some old PC browsers...!!!
My problems are:
- It does not recognize and play .swf files
- the scroll problem occur only when i touch the video area, otherwise it works
- the keyboard appears always by touching the video area, it's annoying

If you have already Opera on your phone, you just need to overwrite the Opera9.exe and OperaL.exe and the third file opera.ini, but the last is not important at all.

thanks for the quick response, but when I try to paste the files in the windows directory it asks if I want to replace the old files... I choose yes... and then it says the files are write protected or in use...
what am I missing? opera isn't running.

Sorry i forgot to tell you that you may use total commander or Resco Explorer 7 or higher to overwrite the ROM original files.
I overwrite the Opera file under \Windows and it works great. Thank you all.
UPDATE: Opera works great but NOT flash lite 3.1. On Youtube page, it only shows a white area at where the video box suppose to be. Anybody know why? :<
sorry to keep bugging you but I installed total commander and even that says: "cannot copy or move file!"
is there a setting somewhere inside total commander that I'm not seeing which will allow me to overwrite romfile's?
just rename the original files (e.g. Opera9.exe -> Opera9_original.exe) and then move the 1938 files to the windows directory. after that restart...
I got the rename and overwrite part ok for Opera 9.5 1938 but youtube still won't show video control after install Flashlite 3.1 on top of 2.1 (the one from stock rom)
1) Use a process manager to shut down anything Opera related. Usually two files.
2) Copy over the new opera files to the Windows directory. You may need to rename the old ones with .OLD
3) Install Flash Lite 3.1 cab, it has to be installed in the same place as Opera.
4) Restart the phone.
5) Delete your .OLD files
6) Start Opera - all should work on YouTube if that's where you go but it is patchy at best and a lot slower than using the YouTube client for example. It doesn't work on the BBC site for example.

worksssss...... thanks!
It's not great though, I only use it for links on site's to youtube clips and then don't zoom in (because the keyboard will pop up) and hold my finger on the clip to select fullscreen. that works with the least hickups and other annoyances.
It does landscape and normal view in fullscreen btw (both with progress bar)
PS. I have the original dutch 1.93 ROM With Opera 9.5 1938 build.

Upgrading Opera

Hello! I appreciate very much what this comunity does for all of the pocket pc owners out there. That being said, could someone please post a how-to on upgradin Opera 9.5 without upgrading the firmware, please? I've searched the forum but people seem not to want to answer to this question. Maybe it's an idiotic question.. When i try to upgrade mine it says that it cannot remive the previous version, and when i press yes on wanting to continue at the end it says installation not successful! Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Hmm... Doesn't anyone know this? 75 people read this and no one? I find this very strange. I hoped that other people were having this question. Thank you!
If you just want to upgrade, uninstall the old version if you are able and install the latest cab or find an upgrade version. If you can't uninstall, just install the new version overtop of the old. If you install over top make sure you are launching the proper executable. You can check your version by going to help, about Opera, and look for your build version at the top. That's it!
Next time try doing a little more reading, the answer is out there!!!!!
To Upgrade the Stock Version of Opera on a Diamond
Hi. It's unusual that somebody hasn't posted these complete steps before. So here we go:
To upgrade the stock version of Opera on a Diamond without flashing a new ROM
1. Go to the Opera thread here. Don't bother trying to install the official (non-Diamond) beta of Opera as it's more trouble than it's worth. Use the official Diamond Opera betas in the link here. You also should not try to uninstall the Opera version you already have on your Diamond
2. Download the Diamond Opera version that you would like. Choose the Upgrade zip package, not the Full Install package
3. Open the downloaded zip file and extract the three files (Opera9.exe, OperaL.exe, OperaPreL.exe)
4. Transfer these to a folder on your Diamond. eg "New Build"
5. Make a backup of the original Opera9.exe, OperaL.exe and OperaPreL.exe that is in the Windows folder of your Diamond. This is in the event that the new Opera build doesn't work as expected and you want to go back to the previous version
6. Use Resco File Explorer or similar to copy and paste the three files from the "New Build" folder to the Windows folder on your device. This will overwrite the old Opera files with the new ones. You can't use the standard WM6 File Explorer to do this as it won't let you overwrite the old files
7. Reset
8. The new build of Opera is now installed. Before you do anything else, return to the Windows folder on your Diamond and locate the "ghost images" of the older Opera build that are left behind (these have filenames along the lines of Opera9.exe.$7 and OperaL.exe.$22 or similar; make sure you don't try to delete the newer Opera9.exe and OperaL.exe files!) Deleting these unnecessary "ghost images" will free up lots of space.
For the record, I'm currently using build 1938 of Opera (extracted from a newer Diamond ROM). I don't recommend using the newest 2128 build as it comes with lots of issues such as excessive boot time, problems loading TouchFlo 3D favourites, etc. I think this new build is only designed to work alongside a newer version of TouchFlo 3d. The 1938 build works great for me though. Very quick, no issues. Still waiting for them to improve the Favourites list in Opera itself; it's a shambles.
Hope that helps
Dave
thank you
Now this is what a call a very good walktrough! Thank you for your help! I installed the version you sugested and it works perfectly! I guess it's quite easy when you know what to do.
+1 Thank you for this clear explanation.
Ciao
Fred
Thanks for the brilliant guide, I tried a cab upgrade earlier and killed opera completely (had to restore my sprite backup from the morning).
I'll give this a go
THANK you for the VERY clear and well written set of instructions on this, I just got my Diamond (US Unlocked Version) today, and you saved me a lot of headaches!
i upgraded to opera 9.5.2745
just run the .cab and it was done without any problems...
but the icons turn out really small after the install.. other than that, everything works great?
got my opera from this link (not sure if external links are allowed, pls remove if its not!)

You might have a QVGA version. This thread has links to both VGA and QVGA versions, but there is apparently a problem with the VGA version posted:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442252
See post #115 of the thread, someone has helpfully posted instruction on how to get the QVGA version working in VGA. Simply replace the skin file and the loading image (png file) and edit your opera.ini file with new zoom settings.
