When using the TouchFLo interface I have the following issues and not sure if there are solutions:
1. From the TouchFLo when you are viewing messages, you cannot dial the person who sent you the message by using the SEND key. There is no menu option either. The only way is to select 'All Messages' and then select the message and then press SEND ! This feature is common on most phones including other Windows phones, so not sure why it has been left out ??
2. From the TouchFLo when you are viewing messages, you select a message. It then brings up a screen with the message and a trial of the messages sent to that person. The keyboard then pops up and clutters the screen. It all seems a bit clumsy. The least it should do is not pop the keyboard up automatically.
If anyone knows any solutions/tweaks for the above it would be much appreciated !
Thanks

Hi all, I'm finding it frustrating that there is no way to edit a contact's details or quickly make a call from viewing an SMS, is there a tweak/patch for this or am I doing something wrong??
close input program like keyboard, press up and down key to highlight sms, and press call
Solved.
Cheers, It's a bit annoying that you can't do it from the Flo view, and is a bit awkward, however this method also works to get to contacts too if you press the center button.
Thank You.
just press more (left buton)
in the list of sms's press the phone button. you will be able to call that person.
you do not need to close the keyboard.
If u dun close keyboard u cant select the message, u'll highlight text instead
what about just hitting the green button key ? that works for me

when i press more in the tf3f sms screen i go to the sms list.
if i have a keyboard there or not does not make a difference.
as soon as i press the call key, i can make a phonecall. to the selected person.
if i press up or down the next message is selected and i can call to that person.
what are you doing different?
perhaps your message is already highlighted. u can only call, forward, etc, when the message is highlighted. U'll see a lightblue highlight on the message.
When u're replying a message, no message is highlighted, hence, no forwarding etc
but when you reply to a message you are in a different screen.
i am talking about the sms overview.
so to call someone you received a message from it is only two clicks, instead of 1 click as the first poster wanted.
lol, probably misunderstanding. we both obviously have no problems and threadstarter also no problems already, so, case solved lol

you could say that
Thanks everybody for your input, yes the solution works.
If I'm in the single SMS mode (i.e. the SMS "old style" list I have no problems accessing contact details or making a call.
The threaded SMS mode proves to be more difficult, however by highlighting a message (either pressing up, or down then up, or closing the keyboard) then you can access the number by pressing the call button.
The Quick SMS view in the HTC FLO mode though proves the most difficult only allowing you to select the message to open up the Threaded SMS view. This is the mode I wanted to make a call directly from or access there details, however I don't think that is possible.
some one pls confirm if SMS forwarding is working on WWE middle east ROM......
Yes, it's working.
If you are using threaded view for the SMS -
scroll to the message you want to forward, then highlight the contact who SENT the message to you.
Click on menu... The Forward option would be available.
If you are NOT using the threaded view for the SMS
Open the message. On the top of the screen you would have the contact who sent the message to you. place the stylus over it and hold it there for a bit. A pop menu appears with the Forward Option.
ahaa thanx lot,
so the trick is on threaded view have to select. nice
Happy to help

Its very irritating. everytime you click on the Contact, it goes into contact mode. You have to click on the contact, go into the contact, exit contact before the msg will allow you to forward.
Is tehre a shorter method? I don't feel like clicking so many times everytime i want to forward a message.
Ok... how do i save a particular sms?
is there anyway to do it?

SAVE? well, you could always move it to another folder.
Yes you can make folders
Goofy, I have disabled threading for the text messages, and that makes forwarding easier..
just placing the stylus on the contact name (appearing at the top of the message) and holding it there for a few seconds - pop up menu - and then forward.
I don't think it's THAT difficult
Besides - having the text messages in a thread/conversation form - I just found it cluttered.
took me a while to find the message I was looking for, because I had to open a few conversations before I could find it.
Well partly my fault, couldn't recall who sent it to me. but then again, in the non-threaded view, it's easier because I can see the first few lines of the text..
I find scrolling easier, than opening a conversation and then scrolling and then closing and opening another one and doing the same - just because the message I was looking for was not in that conversation
Hi!
I'm quite desperate. I'd like to start SMS on my Kaiser with one or two clicks. So please recommend me how to make my SMS box the default message box (I'm not using MMS, who does anyway... I mean SMS are so much more popular) and/or direct "Compose a new SMS" or so. I also use HTC Home. Ideally I'd like to add a button in HTC Home which would directly open a new SMS (not MMS).
And yes, I did use Google "site:forum.xda-developers.com Kaiser SMS" + various combinations of words "default", "folder", "quick", "fast", "button", "MMS"...
I also tried several registry and other things tweakers.
Thanks
Btw, if you could recommend an application for quick taking notes, something like primitive drawing or so... PhatPad maybe?
um htc home (with the big clock) has it with one click..
I don't really understand your request, but this might be what your after? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2287306&postcount=6
EDIT:
Also,
When viewing your SMS's do: Menu, Tools, Options and Untick "Display account picker when opening Messaging".

Try installing HTC action screen. It will map the left softkey to be able to create new mms/sms/email/apointment/contact, all with one click of the button. That might be what you're looking for.
Hi,
I am also quite desperate for this. I will try to explain what is that we are after.
When composing a new SMS message we need to follow the following steps.
1. Go to Messaging Application
2. Select SMS \ MMS
3. Click on Menu
4. Click on New
5. Now we need to select SMS from the list that shows MMS / SMS / Voicemail.
Now here is the problem, we would like to have SMS as the first option if possible (It helps save the click I need to do, if I am using the D-Pad), Alternatively, a direct link to just start composing a new SMS message directly without going through multiple menus.
Thanks
Manik
Hi,
I missed the link of my previous post (#3). Sorry. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2287306&postcount=6
The link was to a CAB to create a "New SMS" link on the left or Right soft key.

wow, from the main screen I tap 4 times with my finger and I'm good to go. That really isn't that much work.

Well, I click on the the envelope icon (1), then I have to click on "Menu" (2), "Go To" (3), "Text meddages" (4), "Menu" (5), "New" (6). This makes SIX clicks.
for me,
Envelope, menu, new, and sms..
Done.
After clicking the envelope, if it opens to email press the 5 way to the right and it will bring up SMS.

Hi,
I've had a HTC Herald and a Touch Cruise in the past. I've just got a Diamond and am having trouble when sending SMS. Usually I would press send and it would display the message sent notification and then go to the SMS inbox.
I've played around and turned the sent notification on.... and then back off as I realized I could live without it (this was done with advanced config)
But my problem is when I send a message, the message moves up to the rest of the conversation that is above and is in bold text. Now I would expect that it would clear the text I have just written from the input text box at the bottom and either go to the whole conversation view or the SMS inbox. I don't mind it going to the conversation view instead of the SMS inbox but I have to press Menu >> Close and it asks me if I want to save a draft of the message I've just sent.
It's just really frustrating to have to press a bunch of buttons just to get back to the main menu. Has anyone else noticed this?
After I hit Send, the last word of the sent message still appears on screen.
Kinda weird...Do you have that issue on WinMo 6.1?
I do not recognize your problem.
There is some kind of bug where (if you don't use TouchFLO) it only marks one message as read and not al, in threaded sms-mode. To fix this, replace the file 'htmlnote.dll' by a correct one (I can upload my cab if anyone ever needs it)..
Does this bug always occur? Or is it gone after a soft-reset? And did you ever try a hard-reset? Does it occur in TouchFLO or with the default Windows Mobile app (Pocket Outlook)?
I dont use the TF3D.
it appears when I text.
Lets say I text you: Hi Mr_Q, please help
hit Send.
On the threaded SMS, it will show the complete the message, which's sent.
BUT under the line, it'll show the last word "help".
it looks like i'm about to type a new message but just help. weird!
