tray icons - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

hi
i got diamond for few days now. i wonder is there any way to get bar with icons on the bottom of screen with programs working in background (like bluetooth icon, skype or minimized tomtom)?

I'm not sure if it'll work with VGA, but try PHM Tray Launch; works great.

doesn't help. the same with any items you would like to add to Today screen:/

DisableTF3D and use the standard WM Today screen...

Try Quickmenu - it adds a task manager to the start menu. There are also some programs that add running task icons to the top bar and a number of improved task managers for the close button.

WkTASK Manager shows running applications in the top bar and you can customise layout and behaviour pretty well.

thank you
You didn't specify how many shortcuts you're wanting to add to the system tray. But a good place to start would be with VJTrayLaunch, which you can find on this thread. . . http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=250286&highlight=VJTrayLaunch

Click to collapse
thank you that's one way anymore
Try iLauncher
If you're wanting to use SEVERAL shortcut icons in the system try, you might want to consider trying iLauncher from Sbsh software. I use it and keep 8 - 10 shortcut icons in the system tray with it.
Of course, I also have 5 other tabs with icon banks in iLauncher to launch EVERYTHING from my Today screen -- Apps, System, Documents, Games and Speed Dial -- in addition to the Comm icons I have in the system tray.
I suggest not using my VJTrayLauncher, and use PHM Tray Launcher instead. Mine is fine for a small number of apps, but not very convenient.

Customisation idea (I'm asking for help/pointers as to how to do this)

I've not really liked the pink/purple of the T-Mobile comm manager icons, so I installed duttythroy's 10 button one.
I really like the simplicity of the of these icons, and the blue is my fave color.
What I want to do is change as much of the graphics as possible (home screen, dialer screen and others) to be the same style as the comm manager.
Any ideas of how to do this?
Any help ?
Check out Schaps Rom for Hermes.... in one release you will find the necessary cabs for comm manager, audio manager, htc home and so on... as well as schaps black theme. give it a try - dont forget to make a backup.
If you look in the \windows folder you will find all the .png files you are looking for they are HH_*.png and L_*.png and #.png If you edit them and change them around and put them back into the \windows dir on your phone they will change the appearance
Take a look here I have done some http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335652

Nice icons
I have almost got it like I want it.
The only problem is the Home background.
I have PaintShopPro 7 and I have created some backgrounds, but when I use start> settings> home to select the background they get displayed very pixellated and as if the brightness has been turned up very high on the image.
I have tried several file formats for them as well.
I've got installed:
HTChome customizer
duttythroy WMP touch skin
Sharkey48 Softkey Changer
jizy HTC Action Screen
RC Mod v.2.1 by o3blig
Deathace MDA Vario III de-Brand
ScaryBear Software QuickTasks (reports database not available dialogue, then shows as it should on homescreen)
Resco (explorer, photo viewer pro, registry editor)
AE Software AE Button Plus
lokmeup IE Slow Scroll Fix
Windows Live 10.6.33.0600 (which only shows the loading for less than a second and does nothing)
try using the built in photo viewer app to set the today screen wallpaper. Make sure to select 0% for the transparency.
Yep...
That's sorted it

hiding the windows start bar, and the bottom bar

any help?

Q. How can i disable the Taskbar Icon for my Task Manager Quick Menu?

Hi. Sorry if this question has already been answered but ive wasted hours searching XDA & Google for the answer...
On my SE X1 I Have the new WM6.5.3 Taskbar that shows both battery and Clock in the righthand corner of my taskbar.
I recently installed the new X2 Taskmanager and now it displays The Quick link for the task manager over the top of my Clock.
Ive seen it fixed on a third party ROM before. I like the feature of touching the clock to view the task manager but i dont need an icon to be displayed.
Is there a Registry edit for this?
Thanks in advance

Using 6.1 theme on WM 6.5.3?

I notice that if I apply an older WM 6.1 to my 6.5.3 device, I get the old style popup/context menus where all the options appear on one screen, rather than the newer, larger, more "finger friendly" menus which require scrolling up and down to see all options. I like the old-style ones better.
Unfortunately applying an older theme also seems to have the side effect of messing up some of the icons on the bottom menu bar so that they either don't display at all, or display incorrectly. Is there any way to cause ONLY this old-style menu change to occur, without messing anything else up? Either through a registry edit or some other way? Alternatively, is there a way to fix the bottom menu bar on 6.5.3 when a 6.1 theme is applied?
I haven't done any theme editing before so if anyone could provide any assistance it would be greatly appreciated, thanks...
What type of theme have you applied? For what UI?
Just the regular Windows Mobile UI. By default my device has the "Classic Blue" theme selected out of the box, which works fine. As a test I installed Windows Mobile 6.1 Green Theme found here:
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-windows-mobile-6-1-theme.html
It mostly does what I want with the menus, but for example in the email/POutlook app (among others) in the bottom menu bar the OK/X button is okay, but the icon/button for "Menu" is completely missing. There is no icon, nor any word in its place. It is just blank, yet tapping on it still does bring up the menu as desired. This is what I am not usre how to fix. Alternatively, I'd be happy with just changing these menus back to the old compact 6.1 style without affecting anything else, but right now applying an old-style theme is the only way I know of accomplishing this.
there are a lot of themes, better to find at least a 6.5 of your taste.
make a search here on xda or look here
The thing is, I'm not really too concerned with the appearance part of things, so the look of a theme doesn't matter that much to me. What I am mainly trying to accomplish is getting the old smaller, compacted system/context menus that we used to have on 6.1.
For example when you're in email (Pocket Outlook) viewing your list of messages, and you want to check for new mail, you hit the "menu" button and then select "Send/Receive". It's that menu I'm talking about. On the old OS version you could see all items on the screen at once, but with the new finger friendly 6.5, you have to scroll up and down to get to various items, such as Send/Receive.
That's the only thing I'm trying to change: getting those old menus back. And currently applying a 6.1 theme is the only way I know of doing so, but it also messes up the bottom menu bar under 6.5.3. So I'm hoping to either find another, easier way of restoring those old menus, or finding a fixed/tweaked 6.1 theme that doesn't mess up the menu bar on 6.5.3.
