I've been using the Tilt since late January and have treated the thing like a king....but today it died. The guy at the AT&T corporate store said it was a battery problem...so he replaced it and it worked for like an hour. He now says that the phone is defective.
He is having a new one sent to me and it will be here in 5 days and when I get the new one I don't want it anymore........I will gladly sell the thing for $250 plus shipping. If any of you want a spare or know someone who would like one please let me know. I bought another phone while at the phone store so if nobody buys it from me I'm throwing it in the trash.
Sorry to hear about you problems with the Tilt..... What are you going to replace it with?
Well, that's a completely stupid & ignorant statement.
If you're willing to throw it away, why not donate it to one of those charities that supplies phones to domestic violence victims.
Or to one of the masters of XDA, preferably in another forum to steal away another bright mind to come to Kaiser, or to someone working on porting drivers.

This will be the third Tilt I've received and I'm tired of this poorly designed phone, so think of it this way. Getting a few bucks out of the phone will help me recoup some of the money I've lost, but donating the phone to a charity is idiotic because it's not nice to give something that's essentially broken by design. If I give it to a developer here I'm out even more money on shipping, and I'll never hear the end of it for *donating a defective phone. I'll just be asked why did I bother it's just junk. Making the transfer a financial transaction I can make the other party responsible for their actions by full disclosure.

Nope, read 1st post.
i found website that might help you want to throw away a tilt http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/youare
after seeing quite a number of posts about dead tilts...often with it being the 2nd, or even 3rd+ tilt that has died...
i'm wondering if perhaps some of these issues are related to voltage regulation.
in other words, maybe the tilts are getting fried due to over/under voltage issues...whether it be from bad a/c at the house, or from the laptop usb port (i know when i plug my tilt into one specific computer i can "feel" the electricity in the buttons...that can't be good)...or from starting the car with the tilt in the cigarette lighter (i wouldn't ever advise that), or just from a faulty charger.
over time any of the above issues could kill any electronic device.
maybe the tilt is just more sensitive to voltage issues than other phones.... and so when one tilt is replaced, the next one dies too...because the same over/under voltage problem is still present. ...just a thought...i haven't experienced any problems with my tilt...yet
...but i have had pieces of electrical equipment die or malfunction due to voltage problems.

Not to mention irresponsible, I don't know how it is where he lives, but here in California anything that plugs in or takes batteries MUST BY LAW be recycled at a proper facility, that stuff can leach all kind of nasties into the environment.

I live in Columbus Ohio and I take all my electronics to the local DIY store as they do recycling there and not at the community I live in. Saying I'm going to throw it in the *trash is my way of saying I'm going to get rid of it with other similar junk people don't want anymore.
In fact I must take all my electronics to a recycling place because my community will fine me big time if I take it to the dumpster that they rent.
I'm from MI and they do far less recycling there so when I was a kid basically anything that had lost it's use was *trashed, even if it went to a recycle bin somewhere.

My first Tilt went crazy on me around day 2-3 when it just started to jumble all the characters on the screen and redraw images in random pixelated blocks of ****. So I took it to the store I got it from and they verified that it was a crazy phone and gave a me a new one on the spot.

Hi everyone...
Just when I think no one helps eachother anymore, I am given new faith in humanity... let me explain..
I have been "**** on" many times in my life... little faith in people anymore... I mean, we live in a world where you can actually have CRAP physically mailed to someone annonymously (www.poopsenders.com a real site)... So I am very cautious of people, and I guess live a sort of cynical life...
Recently my family and I upgraded out previous generation phoens to Touch Pro variants (mostly Fuze's).. we sll got out phones preowned.. and most in less thant desirable shape.. one battery onyl held a charge for 12 hours max (instead of 2.5 days like out other ones on the same rom)... scratches... mis-matches stylus, etc...
Then klown_41143 posted that he recently upgraded his phone, and would offer his old accessories for free to anyone who wanted them... I was skeptical at first.. I mean, why woudl this guy jsut give this stuff for free (2 OEM batteries, 2 styluses, a battery cover and a a300 adaptor.... I thought it was a joke, or he would want something in return... So I follow the directions in the post... and I get a responce from klown_41143 .. He would be happy to send it all to me, free of charge.. I am still thinking it is some sort or scam, but I thank him...
Then this monday he sends me a tracking number.. I am suprised... I check it out.. looks legit.. I wait.. .and this morning I got the package... exactly as described.. I was shocked... Here is this guy I never met... don't even recall if I ever posted a reply to one fo his psots before or vice versa... Not only does he send me stuff he could sell on here to make a few $$$, he pays extra to send it priority mail so I get it quickly, and even get a tracking number for me... I am judt realyl grateful... I know, some used items that he has little to no use for, "big deal".. but it was more than that for me...
So basically, even though this guy is a Jr. member here, if you see a post or something, please as a favor for me, go out of your way to help this guy... I would personalyl apprecitate it.... thanks for reading all my babble...

My step son accidently dropped his old 2nd generation iPod, it landed on the headphone jack and dislodged the jack. Of course no jack , no sound. This kid lives for his music, plays the guitar, loves garage band and thru working and saving for iTunes and downloading every CD I had , his Mother had and friends , had a iTunes library of over 3000 songs.
We all had a very tough financial year last year and didn't have lot of money , certainly not enough to buy the kids what they really wanted for Christmas. I felt so bad for my step son, that for Christmas, I wrapped my iPod Touch that I had gotten 2 years earlier when times were a lot better for us. He opened it for Christmas and was thrilled and so thankful even though it was 2 yrs old and all he got.
Last month he was at a party at his " friend's " house with other " friends ". Put his iPod down for a split second on a table while he talked to someone, turned around and it was gone. No one admitted taking it , it was just gone. He was just devastated, his prized possession.
My 8 year old in all his kindness gave him his shuffle until we can get him another music player.

I really wanted to. But he was such a good friend, he was like there for me when I was a freshman with no friends. I felt betrayed by his ethics. I don't know what to think about him.
But I did tell that what he did was immoral and that he should have tried to return it. I also told him that I disapproved.
But as for the original poster, I was going to say that I couldn't believe klown did that for a stranger, and I felt something fishy was going on... I mean he should make the receiver pay for shipping atleast right?.
Can klown please step up and talk? Is he rich or something?

For the record, I am by no means rich, wealthy or loaded. Lmao. Extra parts were just that, extra. And for the small lot of stuff it would have cost more to ship than it was worth. Free stuff to good ppl, yhats how I was raised and try to do my best to stick with that tradition. As far as the priority shipping, everyone hates waiting on anything. Free or other wise. I am very glad that the stuff went to good use to a good family. Keep ur eyez peeled for other "free stuff" posts by me, im all the time giving something away

Well played that man. The old philosophical debate is whether there are truly any altruistic deeds, but it's a step in the right direction at least. I always give away stuff i don't use, either to friends or charity shops. I've donated my entire book collection, designer clothes i've never worn, leftover PC hardware from upgrades etc. Right now i'm sitting on a Creative x-fi, OCZ Vertex and Nvidia 8800 GTX Ultra and an old copy of Win Vista. If i do the Sandybridge upgrade i've been considering i've basically got a spare 'puter. Decisions, decisions.
Anyway, it's nice to be nice!
I got the red ring of death. Well it was my friends console that he gave to me. I didn't check the warrenty on the dam thing and fixed it myself, then got e73 and back to the red ring. I made it look like I didn't open it with the silver tape, but the metal casing and some of the screws were drilled out by me. Do you think I still have a fighting chance at microsoft still fixing the thing? Im sending it out tonight too.
Those Microsoft guys are pretty sneaky...
they gonna charge u $200 for a new mobo and wont send it back till u pay for it
Your best bet, is to buy the part and fix it yourself. Chances are if it's an older model, there's no warranty and you have to pay for them just to put on a new clamp. My first one they wanted $100, I said screw it and just bought a new arcade.

Funny, I've done one for a buddy of mine and it works just fine.
If you open it up, you void your warranty. That's what the warranty seal is for, and you agree to that once you purchase the console, and if you want the warranty, you have to sign up for it. If you don't, they don't know when you bought it. They have done an amazing job at replacing the consoles, 3 year warranty on a console is pretty good. If it's out of warranty, it's because of one of these reasons.
1.You bought a launch console, which is about the only one right now out of warranty since it's past the 3 year mark. These launch consoles also have a 100% chance of failure, so it's hard to believe there's one that someone seriously plays on and has had no issues with.
2.You never registered the warranty in time, your fault.
You have alternatives to fix it.
1.Call microsoft, they fix it for $100.
2.Replace it with a refurbished Gamestop Xbox 360 that comes with the new clamp that keeps the ball joints in place.
3.Buy a new Xbox, arcades are cheap.
4.Buy an xclamp for it.
If you opened your xbox and EXPECT support still, you're dumb.

Oh I do. I know about those safety seals, hence why I put then back so it looks like I never opened it up. Only place thell get me at is the screws at the metal chasis..... and I don't want to buy another. That my last resort.
If you opened the Xbox at all, the seal is designed to leave some kind of residue on the xbox. If they refuse support, you've only got yourself the blame for that. Should they not have these kinds of issues? No, not at all. But you broke the rules for support, not their fault.

Unless the package has to be signed, I've seen this before. It's unfortunate, but I suppose in their defense, they've got no idea what's inside. :/
Still messed up bro, is the tablet okay? Nice video set up tho, are you using the Logitech system?
Yes, this is typical UPS. They remind me of the Samsonite commercial with the gorilla beating on the suitcase. I'm sure that Nexus 7 got thrown a lot more than once through its journey though UPS.

That's not a defence. They don't know what's inside, so they shouldn't be throwing anything. The guy should be heading down to the local depot, demanding to speak to the manager, and not leaving without a hefty goodwill and apology gesture.

Yep, I'd be contacting them immediately and show them the video. Ignorance is no excuse. No delivery company should be throwing packages. That kind of defense defies common sense, and is NOT UPS policy by any means.

The scary part is FedEx is even worse
Wow I would be flipping livid if that was my tab, thank god I have everything delivered to my office, the UPS guy has to come up the elevator and into my office and hand deliver it, also everything delivered to a business has to be signed for. But damn man that sux lucky ur tab is ok.
It could have been worse....
I found mine inside the screen door and propped on the step just outside the front door. I think they are required to get it to the front door and as the screen door on the front of my house is 3 to 2 feet from the main door he's already there at that point. Didn't change my lifted screen but I don't think bring thrown to the floor is a factor, at least in my case.

Wow who pissed that driver off. I've never seen that happen with my packages delivered. Most of the time I've seen them deliver they'll either put right in front of my door or even sometimes behind the table on our patio. Now fed ex on the other hand they're definitely worse. Our normal driver at my work has just dropped stuff next to our office door if we don't get the back receiving door in like a minute.
Wow...my ups Guy usually hides everything under the doormat, so I know they're not just throwing things around.

My UPS guy is generally nice too.
However, as others have pointed out, the scary part is the one that we DON'T see, namely how many times our packages are thrown around and banged against who-knows-what during the journey from the shipper to us. Who has ever received a perfectly pristine box that looked like it was actually carefully handled?

All of a sudden while trying my CC from Chrome on a my PC which I never used before, my CC couldn't connect and showed "Set me up". I had problems setting it up the first time and I got the "use the extender" on the screen. Trying the second time, I was having problems as well. I decided to add the extender, plugged it in, powered up and it showed "Ready to Cast"!
The catch is that the thing sticks out like a sore thumb now on the side of my TV. I did have a USB WiFi adapter right next to it so I moved that. I was thinking of getting a 90 degree HDMI adapter, anyone try one? How many have been forced to use the extender?
I've used my CC with HDMI right-angle stuff, be mindful of the CC's "bulk" and you'll be okay. Personally I like fixed (rigid) adapters more than the flexible or hinged ones but I guess that's matter of personal preference.
I've never seen the "Use extender" message before, interesting!
I got the message today actually when I was playing with my Chromecast on a tv in a room that's farthest from my router..never seen it before myself..I was like "....huh? What's this?"

I had removed the extender but the message came back again and I had to reinstall it again.
BestBuy was supposed to have the AudioQuest 90 but only had the more expensive Monster brand flexible so I ended up ordering one from Amazon. One thing to watch is either it's a narrow or wide, meaning which way it bends. In my case, I needed a wide version.
While at BestBuy I couldn't resist buying the rootable 3915 CC that I tucked in the back of the shelf the other day!

I'm lucky to have a nearby store that carries a lot of cables at/near Monoprice prices for that kind of stuff. There are some that bend in any direction, but my inner engineer doesn't trust how all that signal fits through that narrow clumping of wire, heh.
And yeah... I just picked up two more CCs... the local store had fewer than 15 rootable units remaining out of the 80+ on the shelf. Most were 3Axx, though I saw a handful of 3928 and 3929... Even saw a lone 3930 - I guess those do exist too! I left the rootable ones together, so if someone goes looking they might find the mother lode! :victory:

I'm very jealous, with CCs not being sold where I am I've had to ask people questions on local auction sites who have imported them and hope that 1) it's an old unit - although the serial number information is very helpful now, and 2) that they're truthful about not opening it.
I got one the other day that was sealed (although it looked iffy as it was peeling a bit) (38...) went to flash it and flashcast wouldn't work, started it up and found it trying to connect to the sellers wifi network (which was named after the street he lived on). Needless to say I was not greatly impressed.

Ohhhhh man!! Kyonz....man I can't help but to laugh a lil about this..lol I'm sorry man, that's not funny at all, but given the kinda luck that I've got, I'm just laughin inside to myself a little bit because that sounds like something that would probably happen to me!! Honestly. I'd be SERIOUSLY P.O.'d to no end!! That's bs right there man...really, it is. If the seller sold it to you stating that it was brand new... for example: "Brand New In the Box, UNOPENED, Ready to Root", and you received it with the "security seal" looking slightly peeled back and the firmware had already tried to access the seller's personal home network, I'd be furious!! If you purchased it using PayPal or any other online service that provides a system for complaints, returns, refunds, etc, I'd definitely look into something like that. .....OR you could pull the "good ol' boy" method and go for a little stroll down his street
I agree with @jsdecker10 here, I'd want my money back, or at least some kind of partial refund.
Reminds me of when I bought a "new" digital photo frame. It was pretty darn close to new, even still had the stickers on the front, but it also was configured with the previous user's email info (lucky for them now way to retrieve/reply) and an SD card full of pictures (none of them naughty, heh). I was okay with the price (even as slightly used), though, so I decided to keep it.
I went so far as to ask the seller if they wanted the card back, and I tracked down the person whose pictures they appeared to be and asked them too, as they didn't appear to be the seller. Neither responded... so minus on use, plus on a free SD card. I really wish people would just be honest on both sides of the fence... Okay, sorry, OT rant over.
