Hi There,
its gone quiet in this Forum for the Shift,
i want to put some life back in it,
if anyone want to do me a favor i'd like to get the Radio Rom of the shift Dumped. If you could do that and upload it i would be glad.
I learned a lot of stuff about the ARM processors the last weeks and now feeling to get an Radio rom to reverse it !
and compare to the Radio stuff from other devices wich are simmilar to the MSM7200 rom from Shift !!
Kind regards
possibly this could tell us where the limit is that it doesnt accept phone calls.
As nobody replied i dumped it myself, if some of the pro's can help me to cook a flashable romm of it i would be glad.
http://rapidshare.com/files/166050083/files_dumped.zip
mem.txt holds the bases and addresses
Kind regards for your help
Yes it's been really quiet at the Shift front. Either project team is still cooking in secret, or they gave up and moved on to other devices. Anyway, If there's anything I can do to help you test just ask. I am really easy with donating time, rather than money.

Hi,
I appreciate your effort here, as I'm no specialist to radio, but I don't understand why you need to cook a rom if you have the radio part? there are totaly independent AFAIK
Okay im new to embeded reversing but as i have ported tapi and so on to shift and phone still doesnt work i assumed that the radio rom is the limiting part. as i looked for the radio rom version in the forum i found polaris / kaiser roms with that version number , and cause they have the same HW i think there is then point to look iinto to get phone working. so i dumped the radio and like to get somethinbg flashable because if i do wrong i need to "repair! flash" it ...
and if i find the interesting parts and could solve them i need to know how to flash them to others to provide my stuff !
in first step it will be for myself as secure as i can get it back to a working version

What's the issue and be clear...dont panic..did you flash the rom or are you trying to install any firmware updates??
i tried installing a cab file...the touchflo3d B3...but first, it installed properly, then i cudnt see anything, so i tired uninstalling it, i think while the processwas on, i shut the phone...BOOM!!
it wudnt go beyond the WM 6.1 Logo..did a hard reset...al working now...
i dont think im gonna screw around with it anymore...there was another cab file which was much safer..there was this Rhodium thing..it screwd or may be iu didnt do somehitng rite...
I think you are little bit nervous in playing with your xperia...you can start flashing ROMs when you are confident until then you can go playing with tf3d cabs....
hard reset ur X1
It's a all part of the game....just relax and the things above!
thanx guys.....yea..am still about to understand what rom flashing means...(i know it means copying the new files in the read only memory of the system) BUT have no clue how u do it...i just wanted to know how can we upgrade to an official 6.5 OS??

Be informed that there is no official Windows 6.5 release available for Xperia x1...and regarding flashing your ROM check the sticky threads there are alot of tutorials available...if u r a newbie to flashing (just like me ), I advice you to go through Biovolt's videos... please go throught the forums for more details...Just use the Search section to search for what you are looking for...Regards...
thanx a lot bobbythomas..i kinnda need to stil understand what flashing actually means...what is making me al the more confusing is that there are several ROMs, million ways etc....

Ya...there are a lot of ROMs in here...It would be really hard to find out the best among them...the best way to do is try each ROM, or go with the feedbacks of other users that tried those ROMs...For me I preferred the Manila interface and sticked up with Sonblacks releases...This is just my opinion and there might be many better ROMS out there...Go make a choice and try those ROMs and do remember to leave feedback of that ROM so that others will come to know about the pros and cons...Rgdssss...

Best thing i can suggest is to take some time and have a read around the forum you will soon get to know things that you want to try out. Before i did anything i picked a ROM that i liked found out how to flash it and then decided on which software that i wanted (if it wasn't included). Basicly so i had as few settings to change as possible after flashing
Check out the link in my signature for some great flashing resources.
Resco Explorer is a good file exporer
Thnx...
Thnx Man
Hi, guys.. Let me introduce myself..
I am one of the extreme noobs you hate, and I hate doing this to you.. but I couldn't find another way then posting for help..
Here's my problem..
I recently got a Kaiser, with a 8Gb SDHC card, and wanted to install Android for it.. I read all the guides, and thought I could manage myself..
I choose a Haret version, to see how the Android works, and then maybe later do a Nand version ( all you guys keep telling its the better choice ) .
I choose Scoot_CyanogenMod_7.1.0_RLS3 android version first.. but as i couldn't install it.. i downloaded a Incubus26Jc's version Super Froyo RLS15 version..
I did all the guide said.. downloaded atools, started it choose the device, resolution and the version... ( i didnt know what to choose, Develop or Stable version, so i tried both ) .. On the panel type , i choose 2 .. On key map i choose Normal .. on FStab i choose Partition 2 on all the tabs.. I did all the steps in rom mix .. downloaded a haret.. In boot scripts editor I choose partition 2 again, checked the Install system, Fix permission, clear Davik cache and Use SD partitioner.. Divided the sd card on two partitions.. Saved all the files.. And tried several times.. And I still cant install the freaking android..
Maybe my problem is i dont have a working brain.. i dont know..
Anyhow.. if anybody wants to help me.. please give any advice ..
Thanks in advance.
I made some pics of what I'm doing, so if anybody sees where I am mistaking, pls let me know.
Maybe something is wrong with my kernel.. i dont even know how to check my kernel version.. When I check my settings, in section named about.. I see this
CE OS 5.2. 19212 (Build 19212.1.0.3)
and in the Device Information
ROM version: 3.29.422.1.WWE
ROM date: 05/20/08
Radio version: 1.65.20.29
..any comment or suggestion would be nice..
same issues as me!!!
really.. so im not alone
Did you manage to achieve something.. I'am still trying.. I am choosing the right settings, but when haret starts booting, after a while it start doing same step over and over again..

I don't see startup.txt and haret in your directory
Your partitions "system" and "data" are at the same place
Haret is there, i forgot to take a pic after putting haret in the andboot folder.. I'am using haret-for-kernel-2-6-32 version btw..
What is a startup.txt .. i haven't seen that step in the installation guide ?
And I didn't realize that system and data should be at different places.. I thought I should put them both in partition 2.. Where should I place them ??
Thanks a lot for taking a look at my problem. :)

Ok guys, so after reading this forum for some time, I managed to install Android, using NAND.. and I'm very thankful for all the help i got from this forum.. but, i have some problems.. Some applications ain't working, or they are reaaaaly slow.. like Viber, Skype .. and some other more demanding apps.. My question to all you guys that are running Android on Kaiser is : What's your experience with it, and what's your setup?
Maybe Kaiser is just to slow for some apps, and only solution is to overclock it using Rogue tools, or to find the optimal set-up ?
Anyway, i'm running My Modified Fresh Froyo Release 20-2-2011, with clemsyn's kernel.. and my radio version is 1.70.19.09.

Dude, this phone is 5 years old, u gotta understand and Viber, Skype! those are some heavy apps
Well, my kaiser is real smooth, with launcher pro, it's delicious But calculating takes a while, like opening apps, sending messages trough the internet, playing games...
I'm running same radio, same rom, and kernel...well that kernel's old! use liquid's kernel! It's the newest one on the atools! BUT for this you need to make a androidupdate.tgz or .tar just go into recovery and after installing the system install the update
the link for kernel and update attached is here with the update attached on the second post! Good Luck! NOw I gotta poop! xD
Yeah, I know it's old.. just wanted to check with other people..
Tnx a lot for your help, will try l1qu1d kernel and update !!

Don't forget to make the androidupdatet.gz or it willl say it failed! Didn't you use that kernel on the SD? Cause if you did, you also had to apply the update
