is my 8125 bricked?

i had ipl/spl 2.25. i tried to flash with g3 since it doesnt touch the bootloader part. i would freeze @ 98% (btw my device is CID locked/SIM unlocked). so i tried to load original cingular ROM (RUU_Wizard_225111_22511102_022511_CWS_WWE_Ship.exe) but it always stops @ 80%. the bar goes red n it doesnt do anything. i tried multiple times n still no go. is my device bricked? or is there still a chance of getting back everything. lmk otherwise im gonna have to RMA it.

how long are you waiting? most roms hang around the 94-98% for a few minutes, then go.. also when the bar is red that means its writing, just be patient... if all else fails try an official rom

shogunmark thank you for your reply. i waited n the bar moved on until i was able complete the flash with cing original rom. now if i want to upgrade/downgrade ROM on a CID locked device (2.25 IPL/SPL) (since lokiwiz isnt able to CID unlock 2.xx verisons) what r my options?
so far from what ive read on forums the options are as follow:
get the CID taken off by some company on the web.
cook ur own roms n remove the bootlader parts n then install (rsiadro - sorry if i mispelled the user name)
also is it ok to upgrade SPL/IPS on a CID locked device as long as the version is higher than the current? am i right here?
any news on lokiwiz cid unlocking 2.xx devices?

Expert Wizard Challenge

Hi all, i am stuck, i need the help of the experts in either saying my 2 Qtek 9100s are bricked - chuck them or, they are retreivable.
Here goes:
2 X Qtek 9100 made by T-mobile - emei if needed.
Both devices stuck on the boot screen, but will both go in to Tri colour screen for flashing, but fail flashing (with several roms), i think they have button rom, its a beer glass.
GSM: - 01.12.10
OS: - 1.5.4.2
ipl 1.01 and spl 2.24
Can these be revived?

A Wizard by T-Mobile is a "MDA Vario", you can't have a Qtek9100 by T-Mobile. Anyway..
Have you tried flashing official ROM while they are in bootloader mode (tri colour)? Does the flashing process went smoothly? Does the IPL/SPL change when you flash the latest ROM? Give more info.

sounds like u didn't accomplish step 16 of 'the definitive guide to unlocking & rom upgrading G3 wizards' by Dr Puttingham.
both IPL AND SPL need to be the same

Since your ipl/spl are 1.xx just follow the sticky by Dr. P at the top of this forum. You will start at the step running lokiwiz as you don't have to downgrade. Then upgrade to an official 2.xx rom. After that you can flash a custom rom.

I believe that these devices were upgraded by a user who perhaps did not fully unlock them.
Is it possible these devices would exhibit these error if they were flashed with a G4 rom, or would they just not boot if that was the case?

Well, the only difference between a G4 and a G3 rom is that the G4 rom will not contain IPL/SPL. If you flashed a G4 rom in a G3 device you are fine. If you flashed a G3 rom into a G4 device then you have bricked your devices.
In your case you haven't finished the unlock/downgrade process. like mentioned above you seem to have missed step 16.
You need to re-flash the button rom to get both the IPL and SPL to 1.01. Once that is done then flash an OFFICIAL carrier rom (T-Mobile 2.26 suggested). When you have completed that then your IPL/SPL will both be 2.26. From THIS point you will be able to flash a custom rom, you will have no success until then. The unlocking guide that is stickied contains everything you need to recover from your situation.
The 2 steps that most newbies forget is to downgrade a second time to get IPL/SPL to 1.01 and after you are completely unlocked then upgrade to an official carrier rom that includes IPL/SPL (note this unlocking procedure is not for G4 devices -- doing this will brick them) Once your IPL/SPL are 2.xx THEN you can flash custom roms.

Thanks ZZan, i think though i have actually blown the rom with button, but it does not bring the ipl/spl down to 1.01, it appears to blow the rom and complete 100% reboots and comes up with button Beer glass and goes no further.....

Have you tried booting into bootloader and putting your carrier's latest rom back into it? I would suggest this. If all works and you can get completely back into the phone, you could try to unlock again starting from the beginning.
The only way you could have really hurt your device is if it was a G4 before you started, or interrupted the flash process while the bootloaders were being written. I don't think it would even boot up to that screen, or flash to 100% if this were the case though. It sounds like a bad flash from the first button attempt. I would suggest using a carrier rom from the carrier that the phone is locked to to get it back to working status. Once there then you can try to downgrade and unlock again.

How do i tell again, something to do with the ipl/spl revisions?

You can also try re-downloading the button rom and performing the downgrade again. I have the button rom in my sig. it's possible the rom may be damaged in some way.

A G3 Wizard will have the following
IPL: 1.xx or 2.xx or 2.xx.00x (Note that this version only has TWO 0's.).
SPL: 1.xx or 2.xx or 2.xx.00x (Note that this version only has TWO 0's.)
A G4 Wizard will have the following
IPL: 2.xx.000x (Note that this version has THREE 0's.)
SPL: 2.xx.000x (Note that this version has THREE 0's.)

You said your phone was a T-Mobile phone. Flash the T-Mobile 2.26 rom and see if you can get it to finish booting. If so THEN you can retry the button rom. You are in a corrupt state right now. Whatever caused it, it doesn't look like the button rom is going to recover you from it. Flash the official carrier rom for your phone and get it back to working status first. Once you can use the device and phone then you can go back and start from the beginning of the unlocking thread.

I have tried t-mob (RUU_Prodigy_1060204_105_11210_TMO_UK_Ship.exe) using NoVendorID and nk.nbf from above rom - Flashed 100% complete - rebooted - stuck on Button boot screen (beer Glass) and not booting.
Button itself will flash, with the same result, looks like its doing it then reboot, halt on beer glass.
I have i trully bricked these two? i cant have they flash and go to boot loader surely they would not do this if i had totally bricked them???

Sorry for asking but ive checked the search and i cant seem to find it. Im looking for the original ROM 1.5 i think it was for the wizard...my phone wont do anything but go to the bootloader screen even after ive flashed it to 2.6 so im thinking i need to do the original ROM...anyways does anyone know where i can find it and download it? thanks for any help guys

oh i flashed it to what i think was 2.0...still the same bootloader problem but now it says IPL 1.01 and SPL 1.01...but still stuck at the bootlader screen...

I assume you have a G3 since you are flashing these other roms, and based on the IPL/SPL numbers you are giving. You need to give us specifics of what you have done, what happened at each step and where you are at now. Details are a good thing, as its hard to diagnose with just bits of the information. At one point you say 2.6 (no idea what that is) then you say you are stuck at 1.01, and now you say 2.26. So please tell us (in gory detail!) what all you have done...
If you follow all the steps in the thread above you will get CID Unlocked, but at the point where you are now, you need to flash YOUR PROVIDER's original rom to get back to a known state. Then try doing the CID Unlock.

alright i was using molskis 3.0 and for some reason sometimes my phone would not dial or connect so i restart it once every few days...well i did a simple restart and when my phone turned back on it was on the bootloader screen with IPL and SPL of 2.26...i figured i would have to flash the rom again or go to an earlier one...so i get home and try to flash molskis 3.0 again...right after it finishes and restarts itself it comes up with the bootloader screen again...now at this point im thinking i might have to do an earlier one like the original t-mobile rom and so i tried that...same problem stuck at the bootloader screen but with IPL and SPL of 1.01...so i post and then vippie tells me to download the button rom...i try that and no luck still the same problem and i followed those steps exactly and no luck...so now my phones just sitting on my nightstand charging with a bootloader screen and nothing else and the IPL and SPL says 2.26...could it be internal damage or what? i like my phone and dont wanna have to spend the money on a new one but at this point im thinking i might have to...thanks mfrazzz for offering your help...i know i seem like a noob and i really suck at punctuation but im not stupid so anything you guys tell me to do in detail i will be able to try

I don't follow you anymore.... you got IPL/SPL 1.01 and tried to flash button rom, after this your IPL/SPL is 2.26? Impossible....

what is wrong with my XDA Mini S

Short version:
I have an xda Mini S
ipl 1.01
spl 2.21
OS 10.1.0.811
I was running the mfrazzz WM6 I think it was vers XM6r5 RC1. I tried to updgrade my ROM to a new one because if issues I was having with this version. It was great but I could no longer surf the web and my unit would crash with the WAN and internet running.
I had to CID unlock my phone last July to get this XM6r5 RC1 to run (I believe I did anyway).
Today I attempted to flash the button ROM to my phone and it made it about 22% then the phone reset and crashed (started to loop on and off at the green, yellow and blue screen). Now it starts to update the rom but most of the time it reenters that loop shortly after the button rom app starts. The battery was full when I started. I have tried 2 different PC's with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
Additional info: the reason I tried to upgrade the phone was it would crash when accessing the web via wifi (just recently). When connected to the PC it was fine. If I used the wifi sometimes it would work for 5 mins sometimes none but everytime I would it would crash and start to loop on and off crashing at the splash screen showing the IPL and SPL. The only way to recover it was to pull the battery. It is now doing this reboot loop at the bootloader screen when it crashes).
I hope thats not TMI but I really want my phone working again.
I just discovered that it will start the reboot sequence regardless of whether it is plugged in or not. It will start randomly rebooting once it is turned on. I tried installing the RUU Hermes Qtek rom and now it is telling my my ipl is 2.26 as well as my spl.
Please help!

I have a o2 mini s too mine is g4 i dont know yours but if you have hard spl you shouldnt flash official rom if you said that you have 2.26 ips slp then you should not have problems flashing to your official rom but if that doesnt help use the wizard love.

Its really strange,if you say you had XM6r5 RC1,which is your device, G3 or G4 ?,cuz if you have a G3 phone,how come you have ipl 1.01 and spl 2.21.wm6 roms cannot be installed with ipl1.xx,got to have ipl/spl 2.xx. Also you say you Cid unlocked the phone.Are you sure ,it was xm6r5 OS ,which was running on your phone ? How did you flash it ? with ipl 1.01 and spl 2.21 ?

Ok please bear with me my recollection is hazy on this. Last August my phone was runnging the O2 software. After checking in here I identified my phone as a G3 phone. I then checked to see if it was CID locked (after doing a posted test it appeared to be). I don't recall how I did the CID unlock. I followed the CID and flashing insructions posted somewhere in the xda-developers forum (it may have been with the rom I used (mfrazzz version) I think I flashed the original O2 xda software from the O2 site then I flashed the Wm6 to my phone I believe it was XM6r5 RC1. I think it was the XM6r5 RC1 only because when it would boot I would see 3 splash screens. First was a Cylon witht he HTC logo, followed by an orange speedometer (with the IPL listed as 1.01 and spl as 2.21 OS was 10.1.0.811 and I don't know that the GSM numbers were) and the third was the splash screen from mfrazzz (dark blue/green with mfrazzz on it). I am pretty sure it was the XM6r5 RC1 build but I could be wrong I think it was the latest at that time. It was stable for several months (basically until 2 weeks ago) when I deleted the recycle bin and temp fold from the memory card (not the device). After that if I accessed the web via wifi it would crash then go into a repeating loop and the LED would change from green to red. The only way to stop it was to remove the battery. I don't know what else to tell you. When I left it yesterday it was at ipl/spl of 2.26 after initiating a RUU hermes . . . . I left it overnight started it up with button rom and it made it 60% then started looping again and gave the error code 274. A second attemp made it to 14% then code 302 (it started to loop again. It still says ipl/spl 2.26. I'm really at a loss here.

ok, I believe,what you are saying must be true,anyway,its not common or observed or even seen to have ipl 1.xx and upgrade to a wm6 rom,untill you have a cid unlocked phone with ipl/spl 2.xx, I'm really,rather, surprised,how you got it!!! or you might have got ipl 1.xx after now again flashing Button's Rom 1.05,the second time now.
Anyhow,now download the official carrier's rom or T-mobile 2.26 or xda_minis_launch Rom and try to flash and recover back to default status and check with WST tool,speciaaly the 'CID Action' button,to verify the SIN?CID lock/unlock status of the phone, then proceed further,ok

I don't know how I got it either. I do know that the ipl/spl while it was working was 1.01 and 2.21. After my first few attempts to load the button rom and then a version of the hermes and t-mobile rom, my phone boots to the bootloader screen and has ipl/spl of 2.26. I have attempted the t-mobile rom a few times but the most successful was the initial attempt after letting it sit over night. It almost made it through (80%) with the t-mobile rom then it crashed and started its loops again. Subsequent attempts made it to as high as 60% and as low as 14%. Is it possible to charge the battery while it is in boot loader mode, perhaps with a wall charger and not plugged into the PC. I ask b/c I am worried my battery may be getting too low and also when it is plugged into the pc it boots automatically. Perhaps I should ask this but do you know where I can get the xda_minis_launch Rom I have searched here and google and no luck. What i did find here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard_Upgrades gives me an error 530 unable to switch message.

Thanks! I will dl that and try that rom. Have you heard of a phone rebooting like mine does? Today once again I was able to start RUU (t-mobile) and once again it made it to just over 80% and then the phone would reboot and start looping until I removed the battery. I tried again immediately and it made it just past the phone verification before it started the reboot loop. Since then I have been letting it sit. Any suggestions or ideas as to why it would do that?

It won't charge in bootloaders mode or from the pc via usb cable,but you can charge it with a wall charger and its always better and recommended to have a fully charged battery before flashing.

So if it is powered off and I use a wall charger then it should charge. When I started this process the batter had a full charge but I have no idea where it is at now that I have attempted to flash it so many time. With the new rom it only makes it about 65% then it loops. It is really starting to wear my patience.

stuck on tri color and RUU wont let me flash new rom

I have a 8125 G4 sim unlocked w lokiwiz and a flashed WMSE5_rev4 with soft spl, well the problem that i have now is that i recentley tried to flash a new wm6 rom without hard spl ( yeah i know stupid) And now i am stuck on tri color boatloader screen no matter if i turn it off or not still goes back to the same thing. and yes the rom that i was flashing was g safe, i think were i messed up is not CID unlocking it with hard spl?when i tried to flash the new rom it went all the way to 100% and then gave error after that. NO activesync connection right now

2- is there a way to recover this device

Download the official carrier's Rom and flash in the tricolor screen or you can even try with wizard_love rom,it usually works with a G4 device.Activesync will not connect in bootloaders (tricolor screen).If you had not got your phone 'HardSPL' then always do the flashing through 'SoftSPL',cuz after flashing with 'SoftSPL',it only patches or tricks the device to think its CID unlock,which is temporary and as soon as you Soft Reset the phone,it goes back to its original ipl/spl and into cid locked situation,therefore,each time to flash,it has to be used again.
