assign refresh command to a button? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hi!
I use a website that I need to refresh often...I use Opera and/or Internet Explorer...is there a way to assign one of the phone's buttons to perform the refresh command rather than having to touch the link on the screen? I also use SPB Pocket Plus, but when I search the assignable commands, they are limited to basic phone commands, like changing the brightness, or soft reset, etc. I have done several searches on this forum and I cannot find the answer...Thanks for any suggestions!

Problem after assigning PTT

I sucessfully installed PTTFIX and modified the registry as instructed. I am using AE Button Plus to assign the buttons. I discover that the touch menu above the right softkey that is supposed to be "contacts" now will not work when pressed with the stylus although the right softkey itself works fine. Instead when pressed it gives an error message that states "Rightsoftkey.exe" "rightsoftkey will not execute, reinstall file or certificate is invalid." Any ideas how I can correct this? Where do you find the files right or left softkey, as when doing a search for them they were not showing up? Also the leftsoftkey and touch menu works ok.
SPB Shell
I found that the SPB Shell software provided the solution. It allows me to assign the onscreen softkey functions as well as giving me a host of opther benefits such as a much more efficient today screen, Some functions are not working with the tilt due to mobile 6. The company states that a update is due out to fix these problems.

Slow drawing Programs list not a driver issue? (NOT. Noticed before, you newb)

Hi folks,
A few administrative tasks that will hopefully prevent me from getting flamed:
This is not about Pocket IE scrolling at all, this pertains to clicking Start > Programs and scrolling through that list
I did search for existing topics about this, which can be proven here and here, but the search results were about Pocket IE slow scrolling and not about the Programs list.
This post is about an observation of mine, not a fix. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me can find out why the following occurs and can possibly use this to our advantage
So, the issue is that when you go to Start > Programs and try to scroll through that list, the items in the list are drawn very slowly making the device feel sluggish. The cause of this has been attributed to the lack of drivers for the Kaiser.
You need HTC Home to be installed to try this:
Ensure that you have the "Launch Programs Folder" shortcut on the programs tab.
If not, click the red x, delete an existing shortcut and add it by clicking on the green plus.
Now launch the programs folder and try scroll.
Close it and compare the scrolling when launching the programs folder by going to Start > Programs.
Both methods give the exact same display of the programs folder, except that launching it from HTC Home draws the list MUCH faster when scrolling.
Why is this so? Is the programs folder launched in a different 'mode' from HTC Home? Most importantly, can this be used to our advantage for fixing other sluggishness on the device given the lack of drivers?
Now thats strange. I've noticed the difference in drawing speeds before but i'd never realised its because i'd launched it in different ways.
This is indeed an interesting observation. Also true in my case. The plugin scrolling is much faster.
Another thing I notice is that HTC plugin programmes list is slightly different from the Start>Programs list in as much as Total Commander is not listed on my HTC plugin list. So, are thes ways of listing programs looking at different shortcut listings? Or, is there something unusual about Total Commander?

Sigh...
Well, I guess I didn't use the correct search terms then.
Thanks for pointing out the posts. I renamed my posting.

Multiple Home Screen plugin?

I know there is a program out there somewhere that adds a pretty basic multiple home screen setup. I tried Spb mobile shell but it is not as configurable as I would have hoped...
I basically just want to have HTCHome/HTCHome Plugin on one screen and SBHC Pocket breeze on another, and maybe a third for more in depth system monitoring.
Anyone know the program that does this?
I have looked around and I am having trouble figuring out the proper search terms to define this program...
TIA!

Search for ultimate launcher
Why wouldn't you just put the HTCHome on a tab in Pocketbreeze?

I'm trying the ultimate launcher prog now.
Thanks for the infos guys!
I have a wonderful combination of plug-ins
SPB Pocket plus for Tabs (4 total, you can go up to 6) in top of Ultimate launch (can go up to 6 taps)
Some of SPB+ taps are from SPB mobile Shell
Everything works flawless on my TYTN II

td2 multiple selection problem

hi! anyone knows how to multiple select some files with file explorer on touch diamond 2?
10x
Change the keyboard to the little blue Microsoft one (just called "Keyboard"), then hit the CTRL button and tap on all the stuff you want to select.
multiple file selection works on htc pro so i was wondering why doesn't it work on td2?
do you mean the Tap-Hold-Drag selection? Nope none here... worked on my tilt. I think its the new TouchFlo (scrolling, not plugin)
The new Touchflo uses screen swipes to scroll rather than select. To Select multiple files, use the standard microsoft keyboard SIP and the CTRL (or SHIFT) keys as I mentioned before. It's really not hard.
It might not be hard to change the sip to be able to select multiple files but it is a ball ache having to change to microsofts sip, do what you need to do and then change back to your normal sip. Especially if your going to be selecting multiple files on a regular basis.
It would be better if they had something similar to what is in place in messages where you can select multiple items.
exactly my point. it's hard to always change between keyboards. both functions are important (scroll and multiple select). i had to copy the whole dir because multiple select doesn't work. thanks all for the answers
It's not an ideal solution but it''s the only one available until winmo 6.5 comes out.
Is there not a suitable file explorer extention, similar to what is available for the likes of Diamond 1 etc?

Input Panel in fullscreen apps / Hold Button to open Input Panel

Hello all!
I really need your help, searched through this and other sources for 2 days now without any solution.
I usually set <Input Panel> to a hardware button on my devices,
so i can open the software keyboard (sip) inside fullscreen applications.
On my diamond i did this setting:
Button 1 (Hold) -> Input Panel.
For example in java fullscreen applications, like TibiaME,
i usually open the input panel by holding the "green" button.
Using this method, i was able to type inside java apps/games/midlets.
This worked perfectly on my HTC Prophet and on some ROMs on Touch Diamond.
But since i flashed my preferred ROM (BsB 6.5.1G), the software keyboard directly
closes again, if i open it inside some fullscreen applications.
For example, if i run a fullscreen java game on jbed, or Resco Snake,
the keyboard shows up like expected if i long-press the call button,
but directly disappears again.
The java apps also resize if i try to open the software keyboard,
leaving a gap where the keyboard should be, showing the application in the background (usually my homescreen).
The keyboard shows up, but directly closes again.
I never expierenced that problem before.
In some other applications, that problem doesnt appear.
For example in teeter the keyboard shows up and
stays in position like it should.
If anyone out there has an idea or a small hint,
it would be very nice if you could post your thoughts here.
Also, if you could test that behaviour on your device and post your
result here could be very helpful.
Im really stuck at this point and flashing another ROM
is not an option for me at the moment.
I already asked for that inside the ROMs thread,
but since it appeared on another ROM too, its not only ROM-related.
ROM-Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=506533&page=687
Edit:
For java midlets, i now use the following workaround:
-JBlend for "windowed" midlets, windows-bars visible, any SIP working.
(TibiaME update from 1.7 to current version fails, maybe someone could proof that?)
-Esmertec Jbed 20090506.2.1 for midlets that don´t need a SIP, like Final Fantasy.
For me, only swype works in fullscreen-mode.
-JRebeiro_Esmertec_Jbed_-_Build_20071119.3.1 for online games that need SIP and fullscreen-mode.
Any SIP working in fullscreen mode. Build is outdated, but allows SIP to stay in foreground.
I´m still looking for volunteers to check this on different devices / ROMs.
Still no solution for windows native applications and latest JBed builds.
Thank you very much for any help!
Best regards,
xumx
