First of all, I have searched a lot but could not find an answer to my question -- if it has already been posted then my apologies.
I have a strange problem. I listen to music via A2DP using the TF3D music player. Everything works fine until I stop listening and switch off my headset. If I then want to listen to music again and switch on my headset, I can't hear anything (either through the headset or the phone speaker) despite the music being played by the player until I soft reset the device and start again, when everything works fine! I have now got a new device for my car (again using A2DP) and have exactly the same problem.
I don't really want to get another music player because the default player serves my purpose just fine.
Any suggestions?

i had the same problem.But i have change the Audiomanager from HTC to Windows and disabled the Bitpool.Since i have no problem anymore.(Till one Week)

How did you change the default music player and disabled the bitpool? Can you please explain the procedure to me?

You can change the audiomanager to windows and at bluetooth you can switch the bitpool to disable.
I have used the bitpool at high, and i have the problem, i change it to disable an i have no more problem.
i hope this is the bug and no random...

I have changed the bitpool so let's see what happens. I still don't know how to change the default music layer to media player!
Does it better the audio quality in A2DP ?
Cause I think the Diamond performs very bad, sound quality is awful when I listen to the music through my Jabra BT-8010.
Hissing, bad sound quality, distorsion... What a mess... My Sony Ericsson k800performs MUCH better and acts as a real audio player. With HTC, I could'nt manage to have decent audio in A2DP...

Try the free version of Pocket Music. If you enable the equalizer and play around with the presets, it really sounds good on the Diamond, both through the speaker and through BT headset. All others I tried I had the same experience as you.

I still hear these distorsions/metallic noises in high frequencies. It not "earable". It still really creates unintentionnal sounds, hissing and noise, lots of noise...
I have tried any single MP3 player for my diamond but none is working... I guess the A2DP is defective in ths unit.
I am left with a very sad feeling of disappointment... It's another world when I plug in the default corded headset which came out with the unit. Nice sound, not the best of course, but a REAL increase in quality. Niothing is wrong in high frequencies, everything is much smoother and less metallic.

Sound is so unnatural it looks like there's something wrong with a setting... And I don't think the Jabra BT-8010 is faulty here. It could be, but I really don't think so...

when i change the joint-stereo setting to disable, the sound over my bt-headset very bad.let it enable the sound is good, but low bass.

Thats not your Jamba, i bought yesterday Sony Ericsson Bluetooth stereo loudspeaker,
(MSB-100 i think) and the sound is terrible - you hear so much high frequencies distorsions that your ears suffers (and i'm not a sound freak!).
Tested the loudspeaker with old sony ericsson - no distorsions, sound quality 200% better..
Whats sad I haven't found the solution so far,
only SRS WOW (settings WOW Bass) brings me a little bit satisfaction..
Will try more tricks, maybe new ROM with new drivers ??

We seem to have drifted from my original query! I still have not found the solution. I tried earthjumper's remedy but it didn't work. I have tried other players but you can't control them via Bluetooth (i.e. play/pause/volume etc.). Windows Media Player is OK BUT every time it is run, you have to select the music and the library navigation is meant to be done with a stylus. The thing I like most about TF3D music player is that the music that you have selected to play (finger navigation) is always there even when you reset the device.
So my question again -- is there any solution for my problem or can someone tell me of a Windows media player skin which doesn't require a stylus?

I agree, I had an orbit 2, and the sound was fantastic through my car bluetooth stereo, now with the xda ignito the sound crackels and sounds terrible on high frequencys.

yes...I'm speaking about the quality of sound while listening an mp3 through the headphones. The sound is really flat without basses or medium frequencies. Even using a better quality headphones the result is always the same: very poor audio quality. It sucks! ...and did you notice that every time you tap on the screen the click that it produces is preceded by a "zack" as happens when an ampli is badly turned on. Listen it carefully and compare with another pda (mine was the artemis).

The same here but I'm using Ethymotic Isolator stereo headset and fit4cat utility to hack A2DP reg.
re: flat sound
I have quite a few earphones & their sounds all vary when using it on the D810. If you like a bit of bass & good mid-range
I recommend the Creative CP630. I suspect Seinnheisers CX300 would be the same.
I too found adjusting a2dp with Fit4cat made a difference in sound quality.
I bought the Sony MDR-EX90 recently that sound fantastic on my home stereo, but sounded very flat on the D810.
@ Ipnotik : worth trying out a different pair of earphones. Dopods may not be the best mp3 players, but hopefully you get to find a good headphone combo which sounds bearable.
Oh & try Mortplayer as it has an equalizer .

What's ipaqaudio.exe? Where to find it? What's for? Does it work on P3600?

It is an equalizer hardware change originally made for ipaq but it works on my P3600 and the only thing a noticed is that it sometime reset when I change sound.But exceps that It works fine!

Thanks, I found it...but it seems that to have it working you must have wired headset connected...did you try it with BT headset?
I use an htc tytn usb to jack converter bought in france (mobidistrib)
You can find the trinity one (it is the same) on expansys.
I'm using Jabra 3030 and I'm getting really crappy sound. If I use the standard earphones, everything sounds great.
I read somewhere that an alternative music player would solve the problem, but nope. Sounds just as bad.
Has this got anything to do with audio booster?
Is there a walkaround to this problem?

I bought a Jabra 3030 this saturday: Getting it exchanged due to excessive background noise.
It is noise you have too? If so, there is nothing wrong with the phone, its the crappy 3030 as other phones and even a laptop does the same. I've tested with a DS-200 and it sounds as good as wired buds.
There are some registry tweaks that greatly improve BT audio.
Under HKLM\Software\ Microsoft\Bluetooth \A2DP\Settings , remove the "MaxSupportedBitPool" and "BitPool" entries.
As usual, don't touch your registry if you are not sure, and keep a backup just in case...

No, i think it's the lack of bass that makes the sound so bad.
That's why I thought of audio booster.
When I'm watching movies the sound is ok, but my metal sounds blah.
I don't think the problem lies in the Jabra device.
Renewing topi. Does anybody have any idea how to enable AudioBooster on BT headphones? It is disabled unless you connect normal headphones. Hopefully there is an option in reg somwhere to do it....

Hi, i have spent some time searching now and since i couldn't find this anywhere i decided to post here, hope someone can help me.
Recently, i bought the official sony playstation 3 bluetooth headset (http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/Accessories/SCPH-98095) and i have connected it to my xperia x1 through bluetooth (running with itje's touch-it xperience v13.2), the problem is, it only outputs sound for the voice calls, i can't listen to music on it or the normal phone sounds. I know it would be mono sound and not high quality, but i would like to listen to the sound anyway sometimes because its better then leaving it silent.
i have tried in the bluetooth configuration window, clicking in advanced, editing the wireless device profile, thre it was marked hands-free, i clicked refresh and headset appeared, i marked it, then the headset disconnects. when i reconnect it, it auto demarks headset, or it doesnt connect.
I have looked around to see if it was the bluetooth headset problem, but i have not seen anyone else complaining about this or even mentioning it can't play the phone sounds (just some complains about the ps3 sounds not outputing but thats the ps3 fault), and i have also searched to see if it is x1s fault but haven't managed to find an answer as well, so if anyone can plz help i would really appreciate it. thats pretty much because its no BUG.
what u want is a a2dp headset. something tells me that the ps3 headset doesn has this feature. normal headset just route voice calls while a2dp headset route everything.
actually, i didnt use the word bug because i though that might be the case
it has the headset and handsfree profile, not a2dp, but what i wasnt sure if it really needed to have de a2dp profile to output normal sounds, from what i've read it seems it is needed to output stereo high quality sounds, but just sounds with low quality would work for me, thats why im asking, i though the headset profile would be enough for that.
so if i get your message right, unless it has specifically the a2dp profile, there is no other way of making the sound output on the headset, low or high quality?
now i know there might be a way to make it work.
i was listening to some music today using the music player that comes with touchflo 3d, then i pressed the talk button of my bluetooth headset to issue a voice command (with the microsoft voice command program), then the music started playing in my headset while it was waiting for the voice command, once it got the command the music went back to the phone.
Does anyone know any way to make my headset keep playing the sounds, or could at least explain what happens when i press the talk button so i have an idea of where to look to see if find a way?
no one can help me with this? not any tip or a way to select a different output for audio or anything like that?
Also an issue with Audio Gateway
I have tested this issue on two seperate headsets, and so far can get the Xperia to work ONLY as hands free. Seperate phones sperate headsets. The other phone pushed audio thru to the headset whereas the X1 only routes calls.
I also cant find much of this on XDA or anywhere else?

i used an ad2p software downloaded from here when i had this issue with my lg ks20. But i havent the gut or im just lazy to try this app on the x1. Maybe u should give that ad2p software a try.
I always had my HTC Tilt 2 playing music in my car through bluetooth. Now with my new HD7 I noticed the sound quality is very bad. It sounds like its streams at a low bit rate so all the high frequencies create crackling distorted. Overall sound doesn't have any richness to it. I think they need to fix this pronto.
Yeh I have the same problem too, its exactly the same if I use 3.5mm jack aux too, just far too quiet, causes so much distortion, neither bluetooth or 3.5mm sound any better. If you put headphones in you can tell there isnt enough volume at all.
Really needs fixing, seems more of a software issues as I've seen people with various WP7 models complaining about low volume.
Right now I'm having to use my old Touch Pro for audio streaming in the car.
Mine sounds great through headphones and car stereo (BT).
In the car I prefer the sound to my iPhone 3GS through BT and line out.
And the volume is loud enough using Ultimate Ears 5vi IEMs with plenty if bass

Sound quality is always in the ear of the beholder, so difficult to fully compare what people consider good or bad.
I find the internal speaker, headphones and line-out (via 3.5mm) too quiet. Quality seems ok from the 3.5mm jack though.
But I tested the BT recently and at high volume it didn't sound very good on a beefy car stereo (with sub). I was disappointed, but had no basis for comparison at the time.
I have this issue too. I'm using the Sony DRBT140Q. The audio sounds perfect when connected to my G1 and Sennheiser BTD-300. But when connected to the HD7 the sound turns kind of...fuzzy on the mids. Gonna go try out other HD7s at the T-mobile store and see if it's a problem with my handset.
I also have this issue. With wired headphones the sound is OK, but with bluetooth audio the sound is bad. I tested it with a jabra BT3030 and with a SonyEricsson MW600. The sound is good with both Headsets when they are connected to my notebook.
HTC are not known for good blutooth support, I was hoping they would get their act together with this phone.
3.5 jack is fine, but bluetooth quality is aweful! was fine on the HD2.
On BT, the bass and mids are ok, but the highs are terrible, they are really crackly/distorted. You can get away with it on dance, because its not too noticable, but in Rock music, it just sounds ****e.

If you have the phoned paired via Bluetooth Sound Enhancer makes no difference to the sound whatsoever. Even if connecting to 3.5mm and using sound enhancer it sounds terrible in my car.
Think I'm just gonna have to carry on using my Touch Pro 2 until something is changed with the volume. I just think there isnt enough, you have it too loud its distorted so you turn it down and then turn the radio up but its no better because you get a lot of hiss etc.
If your listening though AUX make sure all the sound enhancements are off, they make it sound terrible. They only make an improvement through the phone speaker.
They dont affect bluetooth at all though.
So is anyone going to fix this?

I have the same problem. Bad quality when streaming via bluetooth to my car radio. With my HD2 and Windows Mobile 6.5 I had exactly the same problem for which there were registry hacks to improve this. Do you think the same registry entries still exist on Windows Phone 7?
Bluetooth audio quality FIXED!!
Ok guys here it is. I figured out how to improve the Bluetooth music streaming quality.
1. Your device must be unlock to do this. Even if your device relocks it doesn’t matter.
2. After unlocking device download and install the XAP file RegistryEditor 1.1.0.0. This is a registry Editor for WP7.
3. Once you have the RegistryEditor 1.1.0.0. on your phone do the following registry hack:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2 DP\Settings]
"Bit Pool"= change Value data to 51.
As I suspected the problem was in the sample rate settings. After I did the hack it sounded beautiful and at full sample rate. Some people don’t have the ear to catch the difference. I like to think I have a very good ear for this sort of thing. Being a musician and aspiring sound designer. I listen to all my music in the car through Bluetooth stereo gateway so I rely on this Bluetooth functionality 100%. Here is an example of the “Value data” number translated to sample rate.
Medium Quality
Bit Pool=35, Sample Rate=44.1 kHz = 229 kb/s
Bit Pool=33, Sample Rate=48 kHz = 237 kb/s
High Quality
Bit Pool=53, Sample Rate=44.1 kHz = 328 kb/s
Bit Pool=51, Sample Rate=48 kHz = 345 kb/s
Last Note: Even if you cannot unlock your phone anymore it won’t matter. As long as you gain access to that registry and change it. Unless you do a hard reset or Windows update you will need to repeat the process or unless Microsoft slaps their head about this issue before they release that update.

Just need a reg hack that allows me to download big files from the marketplace through my own 3G signal and not wifi now and ill be very very happy!
Also set "UseJointStereo" to 0 since one of the common joint stereo algorithm uses a lossy audio compression. BT Music sounds great with these changes!

Thanks for this fix! I finally got my Verizon Trophy fixed after
1. Trying to deploy RegistryEditor 1.1.0.0 only to get a deployment error
2. Trying to deploy RegistryEditor 1.2.0.0 only to get a deployment error
3. Editing the XML file in RegistryEditor 1.2.0.0, which successfully deployed the .xap but wouldn't actually let me edit the necessary values BitPool and UseJointStereo. I could change them in the editor, but as soon as I navigated away from the editor they would return to their defaults.
4. Attempted this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271963 only to be unable to run Connection Setup app
5. Completed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271963&page=64 after about 10 iterations of trying to open the Connection Setup app at the exact moment described. I didn't think it would work, but it did.
So, in summary, in order to install a registry editor (1.2.0.0) AND have it edit the BitPool and UseJointStereo values on my student developer unlocked Verizon Trophy running official mango update, I had to do an interop unlock.
Took me a few days to sort through, but I'm so unbelievably happy with the result!

I’m an old geezer with some loss of hearing, watching a lot of series on my Tab S2, wearing wireless (Bluetooth) headphones (Bose QC35) but find the media sound still too low on the headphones highest setting.
I wonder if any of you come across an app that will boost media sound. Some films are louder and I can cope but for some reason watching series they all have lower sound level. It’s not just the headphone as I have a PSB M4U 2 wired headphone as well with the exact same result. I have searched playstore but not been able to find any good ones.

Sorted! Configured MX player as my default player. The sound can be upped to 200% with just a tick in its system. Now, it's more than enough even for me.
