start/settings/system/taskmanager/button/enable Quick Menu on Today Screen
You can actually have this and QuickMenu working at the same time if you like. Sounds like you would probably rather put Quick Menu out of its misery by now though.

I have a problem and cannot figure out how to get rid of the large size start menu. It is overlapping my quick menu... Any suggestions??
I had the same issue. Try this:
click on the upper right corner
click on "preferences"
click on "skins" tab on bottom
uncheck the "use skin file for x/ok buttoms" box
that should do it.
still there...
I tried this and it still looks exactly the same.. Do I have to uninstall the large start menu somehow?
Ok, try this. I just checked and this one did it.
click on the upper right corner
click on "preferences"
in the first tab "gerneral1" (should be the first page)
check the box that says "Hide the task-list when there are no task"
Sorry I didn't get it right the first time. I messed with the setting untill I got it to go away and didn't remember the correct one.
Hope that takes care it it this time.
perfect...
Worked like a charm thank you very much!!!
hi..
hmm.. i can´t answer you question, but i want to say: cool background image and cool HTCHome-Theme
could you send this things to me.. i like that! very nice
here you go....
I picked up the images from this site!!
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=ATOM_USER_THEMES
Just customize the rest...
If you want the same background for your S2U2 Unlock you have to make that file a jpg and rename it to wallpaper.jpg and overwrite the file in your s2u2 gfx directory...
have fun...
I was wondering how to put back my task manager icon that goes in the top right hand corner. I had installed QuickMenu and didnt like it and then i went to uninstall it and now my task manager icon is gone. How would one go about restoring that icon and making it fully functional. Same goes with my start menu button on the device itself, it goes to open QuickMenu and says i should restore the file but i dont have the cab anymore. I would mostly just like to know how to restore the icon. ty

My quick menu has disappeared from the today screen and in its place is a battery percentage icon. Since I have a battery indicator next to this i would like to put the quick menu back. Please help.
have you tried going and excuting the quick menu program from your program list? Once there you should be able adjust the options to your liking.
its not into programs. trying a hard reset
you shouldnt need to hard reset just to get quick menu back...have you tried:
a) clicking on the start icon and not the word start
b) re-installing the quick menu cab?
did hard reset putting back phone with sprite backup now. quick menu icon was on when phone first powered up. If it's gone now it means some program is removing it. Right?
if you cant find the quickmenu in the start icon, then you can just try looking for the quickmenu executable. i think it would most likely be in the \windows directory
Is there a reg edit to move the battery icon?
I want to move the battery icon to the left because it currently covers up the icon that shows new notifications in the title bar, making them unusable. Is there a reg edit to do this? Thanks in advance!
Found quick menu on start icon. changed battery to none and added Q to taskbar. But the quick menu icon that was on there before is now gone but I can use this method

Well if you did a restore with sprite backup then most likely, you just undid everything that made it reappear in the first place.

By quickmenu do you mean the quickmenu itself taking the place of the old start menu? If thats what you want you have to tell it to do so, under options, the very first page, select replace systems start menu (and register win key of device if you want the hardware start key mapped too)

I have no idea what you are talking about on this, with my quickmenu, the battery is shown the furthest to the right as possible (where the ok and X are normally shown). Are you saying that this is not how yours appears?

No mine appears next to the 3G icon
uncheck "show on all titlebar" for the battery option and then the battery will move to the far right
quickmenu
I went to quickmenu/options and selrcted replace start menu--------nothing happened. sorry now when i click start it lists everything but won open ie settings so I'm turning off replace start menu
Leon, everything that you are asking really is availible as an option under quickmenu itself (even displaying settings) my best advice for you is just to look under the options...almost all of the options (again in quickmenu) are self explainatory, so you should be able to get all of your questions answered within
quick menu start
All of this started when I lost the quick menu start icon thats all the way up in the right corner next to battery icon. It is 3 lines with a triangle on its bottom right. Now the last icon I have is the battery with an empty space next to it.

The three lines thing can be turned off by going to the windows mobile settings, task manager, and deselecting all of the options under it, and obviously the reverse if you want that part on (this is not quickmenu, this is htc's task manager app). The battery is from quickmenu which you can turn on or off under the quickmenu settings.
Went to Task mgr and quick menu is checked but it isnt back on the top of today screen!!!!
Went to Task mgr and quick menu is checked but it isnt back on the top of today screen!!!! FINAL: ADDED TASK MANAGER 2.0 and it solved my problem.
I'm using the TF3D surface,
Almost every time I hit the today icon from start menu (especially when another program window like explorer is open), the taskbar suddenly disappears and won't come back until restart of the device. That bug is pretty annoying cause’ I sometimes hit that icon accidently.
For me that icon is completely useless (I use Home button instead) so I'd like to remove it, but it seems to be hardcoded for there is no lnk-file in startmenu folder. Has anyone an idea how to get rid of it??
Thanks
tts very weird I never encounter such a bug
nonetheless you can get back the taskbar without restarting
simply go and launch the browser from tf3d then the taskbar will restore on its own
beats a soft reset haha
Thanks!
I'll try that browser method next time...
I installed the CalliGrapher 7.0 in my Diamond. After a required soft reset... the phone just freezes in the PIN Check loader. If I press the Home tab it directs me there but nothing is accessible. It's just frozen and nothing works... just like a screenshot of your home tab. How do I uninstall this app without having to do a hard reset... can I somehow access the Add/Remove Panel from my computer?
Edit: I checked again and found out that the touch UI is no longer working. I played around with the buttons and it seems that I can somehow controll the phone via buttons but I can't get the Start Menu to open so that I can reach the Settings Pannel.
To make it short: How do I access the Add/Remove Pannel using buttons only? ( no touch )
Edit2: Eventually, I managed to uninstall the CalliGrapher app using Pocket Mechanic and using only buttons but it didn`t solve anything... I still have a non responding touch UI and I can't come up with anything that would fix it... other than a hard reset. Any suggestions for a non responsive Touch UI? It's kinda frustrating to work a "Touch" Diamond using buttons.

Maybe in safemode lots off phones are set so that if you reboot in a certain time 2 or 3 times it will automatic ask you or you want to boot in safemode.
Good luck
Willem
I had no luck with the safe mode... rebooted 5 times and nothing happened, no safe mode option. There has to be a way to get me into that Add/Remove Pannel using buttons only...

Did you try the safemode way for the second third and so on time before boot was complete, I mean you have to softreset before boot complete again.
Hope this helps

I tried and it didn`t work... I managed to get into the file explorer and I`m trying to find the "Settings" shortcut from the Start Menu... Do you know where it is located? I would use the search option but I can't type in letters and such... I started looking in the win files but it is kinda taking me too long. If it is a Start Menu shortcut then it must be somewhere within the Windows folder, right?
Edit: I found the "Settings" folder but when I open it, nothing... Tapped to "Show All Files" but no result. The Add/Remove Pannel is here but I just can't see it! How do I make it show?? Can I find it elsewhere?
The Icons in the "Programs" folder seem to appear. I pretty sure the "Settings" icons are system icons...
