CalliGrapher App - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I installed the CalliGrapher 7.0 in my Diamond. After a required soft reset... the phone just freezes in the PIN Check loader. If I press the Home tab it directs me there but nothing is accessible. It's just frozen and nothing works... just like a screenshot of your home tab. How do I uninstall this app without having to do a hard reset... can I somehow access the Add/Remove Panel from my computer?
Edit: I checked again and found out that the touch UI is no longer working. I played around with the buttons and it seems that I can somehow controll the phone via buttons but I can't get the Start Menu to open so that I can reach the Settings Pannel.
To make it short: How do I access the Add/Remove Pannel using buttons only? ( no touch )
Edit2: Eventually, I managed to uninstall the CalliGrapher app using Pocket Mechanic and using only buttons but it didn`t solve anything... I still have a non responding touch UI and I can't come up with anything that would fix it... other than a hard reset. Any suggestions for a non responsive Touch UI? It's kinda frustrating to work a "Touch" Diamond using buttons.

Maybe in safemode lots off phones are set so that if you reboot in a certain time 2 or 3 times it will automatic ask you or you want to boot in safemode.
Good luck
Willem

I had no luck with the safe mode... rebooted 5 times and nothing happened, no safe mode option. There has to be a way to get me into that Add/Remove Pannel using buttons only...

Did you try the safemode way for the second third and so on time before boot was complete, I mean you have to softreset before boot complete again.
Hope this helps
Willem

I tried and it didn`t work... I managed to get into the file explorer and I`m trying to find the "Settings" shortcut from the Start Menu... Do you know where it is located? I would use the search option but I can't type in letters and such... I started looking in the win files but it is kinda taking me too long. If it is a Start Menu shortcut then it must be somewhere within the Windows folder, right?
Edit: I found the "Settings" folder but when I open it, nothing... Tapped to "Show All Files" but no result. The Add/Remove Pannel is here but I just can't see it! How do I make it show?? Can I find it elsewhere?
The Icons in the "Programs" folder seem to appear. I pretty sure the "Settings" icons are system icons...

Remove Calender&Contacts bar

Is it possible to remove to whole bar at the bottom of the home screen? Mine has links to contact & calender, but I just want to remove it since I dont use them at all...
Any ideas?
soft key applet
you can use a program called soft key applet, which is downloadable from the xda ftp site, not sure if you can simply turn these off, but you can assign different programs to them.
I use dcinobar, you can just click the .exe to enable / disable it. I have mine placed in the \windows\startup folder works perfectly.

nice post, def. gonna try this one out when I get the chance as I never use the on screen soft keys anyway,(plus I know I ain't the only one who can't stand the fact that the home screen plugin from HTC doesn't allow one to scroll down the today screen in landscape mode)and a little extra room is welcomed with open arms. I'm guessing you can still use the soft keys if you want to by pressing the hw buttons on the device right????
cheers
Heres the trick..
It LOOKS a lot better. It makes more of your image available to use.
But wither or not you use the buttons doesnt even matter, because when at the today screen, even if you press those buttons they still work. I use mine all the time, but I dont like the clutter, but it doesnt matter. I just remember what buttons do what, since they still work.
Im adding this to my newbie thread
Thanks!!
This gives the homescreen just a bit more room.
Another nice mod is to remove the iconset for the unlock/com man/etc located above this bar. I used the regedit method using total commander- simply delete the following from your registry:
\\HKLM\INIT\LAUNCH92
This is the key that launches the tray application at boot (To re-enable create the registry key above with the value TrayAp.exe)
Have fun!

Actually I found the tray icons very useful and actually added my own tray from batterstatus. One touch activation of any of the radio's and various programs makes using the tray very efficient. Plus you can access the tray without even touching the screen so its a win-win in my eyes.
Regarding Neptunes' first post at the top,
"(plus I know I ain't the only one who can't stand the fact that the home screen plugin from HTC doesn't allow one to scroll down the today screen in landscape mode)"
I have spent days looking for a fix/patch for this. Is not having the scroll feature in landscape mode the final answer on this one?
Thanks guys!
Scroll
Go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\HTC Home and change the type to 4.
Poweroff and poweron.
Thanks, exactly what i need.

i only use this because i can launch a program by holding the exit button!
is there another tool to do this?
long press end key allows basic functions but not specific programs im afraid. I cant think of anything other than WkTask. ANY HELP???
i dont mean end key i mean the "X" on the screen
did u map launcher in the settings, works perfect for me.
i mapped it but it jsut appears the first time, if i start it again in shows up invisible and i can press the ddisplay at the right possitions!
When you are using the BatteryStatusPlugin in the to-day screen, thenn deinstall it, and the wkTask works after that correctly. It was so by me.
Yes its BatteryStatus
I love this Plugin it worked under WM6
edit: seem to work again after remove and activate batterystatus again
I get the exaxct same thing. I disabled all of my today plugins but still only see wtask launcher when first launched after that it is invisible only the next and exit are shown in the bottom bar.
Hi everybody.
Same issue. After a few days wktask got invisible. I dont see the gui. No icons at the top and the launcher doesnt work. I solved the problem by uninstalling wktask, delete the registry entries and reinstall it. So it worked for a few days. I dont found out, because of that it disappear. But somebody means its BatteyStatus. I installed the HomeScreen PlusPlus ...
Are there any solutions about this topic? I always need both tools.
Thanks for help.
Regards
BatteyStatus = HomeScreen PlusPlus
Just a name change
Yes i solved the problem the same way just reinstall both and it works
but thank you for your (late) answer
Can't work no more than 3 apps
Guys,
I got strange problem with WKTask. When I added more than 2 app on launcher, it failed to launch. So I use FDC Soft task manager then tap action-run app-WK Task Setting. Delete all of apps from launcher it run back normal again. Is anybody got the same problem w/ me? If no, please advise.
Thanx

Soft reboot

a soft reset of the diamond is easy with the stykus.

Startmenu items not displayed?!?

Hi,
I was playing a little bit around with my new Diamond (installing apps, tweaks with advanced config, ...) and since the last soft-reset I only see a black panel, when I open the startmenu, but when I press somewhere inside this panel the items are shown, but the item under the position I've pressed is imediatly excecuted!
Is there a way to get the items back without formating the device?
regards
cfi
did you install SecondToday?
if so, a new version has been made, what might fix your problem
I've updated SecondToday but the Startmenu is still away...
I think I will do a comlete clean of the phone to remove all of my "tests" in the last days...
The same happened to me when I enabled the Startmenu animation.

The same to me - Just disable the Startmenu-animation in Advanced Config, Softreset and the Menu is back again...
I have that same issue with the black start menu. I solved it.. Just disable the ''Large Start menu'' in settings.
Just know which programs will conflict with the OS.
I have wisbar conflicting with Marschall Wait Cursor by showing no taskbar sometimes. So i dont use MWC
It was the "Animate Menu"-Setting at mine to...
some tweaks will mess up the phones functions, make sure its a supported cab
if not just hard reset and should be fine again

no soft key, app button on cyanogenmod 10.1 on touchpad

I looked at a lot of threads already and can't seem to find a solution. Looks like someone messed up the settings on my touchpad and I can't get the three soft keys and taskbar on the bottom to appear . The button on the top right to go to the app menu is gone also.
There is no way to get onto the setting menu unless I restart the touchpad and use the "low battery" button to get to Battery on settings. Is there anyway to get onto the setting menu with no soft key / app menu ? If I can just access the setting without restarting every time can I can try to fix the problems.
Did you go to system, buttons and layout
Sent from my TouchPad using xda app-developers app
Well I had to recharge the touchpad and can't get into settings now. Anyone can help ?

Not really sure what you mean by you can only get into settings with the low battery button. But there is an app in your app drawer called settings that takes you to the settings. Also, you could have expanded desktop on so long press the power button and see if you have the option there. If not go into settings and then "system" and look at your expanded desktop options.

Hold down a finger on the home screen, then go into Launcher Settings, see if you can enable the Dock. May have been disabled by mistake.
If that is not available, go into Apps and then access Settings from there.
