Hi,
I can't get my kaiser connected to my vista x64 machine. I opened bluetooth on my computer and my phone and got both to search for bluetooth devices, but they both found nothing.
Help please?
Thanks.
Run the search on one only, after checking that the other one is set in discoverable (visible) mode.
yes discoverable, also accept incoming beams, idk if that would do anything but I always have it on.
Ok, well the they can see each other now, but they won't sync.... So weird.
edit: NVM, I got it working... though its really slow...

Thus far, I've been unable to use my AT&T Tilt as a wireless modem for my Vista laptop. I've partnered them in the MS Bluetooth Stack, then gone to Windows --> Internet sharing and set it to bluetooth pan and media net, then on my computer, gone to "connect to" and opened the bluetooth pan connection. Unfortunately, at this point, my phone doesn't show up as a devic for bluetooth pan. If anyone can offer up some advice, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks
I would also like to add that Bluetooth PAN also doesn't work for me in XP (SP2). It doesn't show up in the the Bluetooth Device Wizard (the one used to add devices with PAN services), but clearly broadcasting is enabled in the options.
Also, just as a side note, I can't get USB tethering to work either...I'd really appreciate any help I can get with this tethering problem. Thanks.
Got it working. I have no idea why, but for some reason when i tried repairing it for the sixth time or so, vista suddenly decided it had drivers to install for my tilt, and it went ahead and installed the modem driver. now everything seems to be working.
By Bluetooth or USB? Or did you get both working?
Why bother with Bluetooth or USB headaches?? Just use WMWiFiRouter and connect to your phone over Wifi.
No idea what has happened here????
Friday it was working fine. Now, when i try and synch via Bluetooth with the laptop I get an error saying 'Unable to connect with a PC that supports Active Synch'.
I cannot think of ANYTHING I have done in any settings on either??? I've searched and come up with loads of info on Active Synch and com ports etc and a process to go through but I didn't have to faff about with all this when I got it working first time?? Synched by cable, disconnected, set up partnership via PC. Synched via Bluetooth no problem.
Now I get this error. I've deleted devices on both and can re-pair OK but as soon as that's done I cannot connect. Any thoughts appreciated. I'm contemplating a hard reset first, followed by a bloody re-flash if needed. Real pain.

When you do the pairing on the phone, do you see "ActiveSync" in the PC's service list? If yes it means the config is OK on the PC, otherwise it would show as "Serial Port".
I've had the same kind of problem where I did have the "ActiveSync" but it would still give me the error you mentioned, I deleted the pairing, turned BT off/on on both the PC and phone, removed the COM port check in ActiveSync, ON, then activated it again, paired again and it was fine. It can be the PC blocking access or asking confirmation too. The stupid bluetooth stack I had on my previous laptop would sometimes ask for confirmation whether to accept the incoming connection or not... but the prompt stupidly wouldn't show up unless I manually clicked on the BT tray icon on the PC.
I'll look a that next time if it happens, thanks. Ended up doing a hard reset
Is this possible? If so how?
I would like the Diamond to use the internet connection of the desktop computer (cheaper) - and they see each other via bluetooth but it seems they both want to be "network access point"
Can you get the diamond to shut up and listen instead of thinking it is supposed to be the boss?
I actually discovered this today
If you connect with activesync via bluetooth, the phone uses the computers internet access...
well mine does... I don't know if this is standard, I just discovered it by accident
Damn, then I have to install activesync...
But thanks for the tip.
Well didn't work here. Must be some fluke on your system perhaps?

I've done this quite often, it's no fluke at all. Whenever I connect my phone to ActiveSync (or WMDC as I use Vista) via USB or bluetooth, it is able to use the internet connection from my PC.

you need to check active sync or windows mobile center(vista) options to enable data through
hmmm, that's strange ...
I'm testing it right now ... opening Opera, and there is the internet!
And I'm sure Its thrue bluetooth because my wifi router isn't connected
And when I disconnect activesync, no more internet...
Someone else that can check that?

No no, you are right - I needed to reboot the PC first apparently - duh
Works fine, thanks Nisse

Though just for knowledge, I'd like to know how to connect through bluetooth as well - any HTC relevant guides about that?
Have you looked into bluetooth PAN?
Some info here.
Or install a http server on the PC and set up a web proxy (PHP or cgi, etc), then browse through that..
I havnt tried either of these but its something to look into..

There's really no point in doing that considering ActiveSync/WMDC shares the connection when you connect, all you have to do is pair your phone with your PC then go into ActiveSync on the phone and select Connect via BlueTooth.
Was just throwing it out there for us non-windows users. I keep a dedicated VM for flashing, but avoid using it whenever I can.

So you have to have activesync installed as well to use Bluetooth - damn a lot of junk - but thanks for the tip

Hello
How to connect with activesync via bluetooth to use internet from the PC..I'm really like this..Thks!
Hi All
After looking at this amazing application - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427097 - I decided to install it, works great if im using the USB wire. But my problem is that Vista wont find my Diamond to connect it to a PAN, ive followed the information on that guide.
Ive tweaked my registry, ive also ran WM6BTPAN which doesnt seem to do much.
Ive also checked my MSI Btoes drivers on my pc. Im running Vista 32bit Business and its find actually pairing with my Diamond, but when it comes to actually setting up the pan, I just get that screen (image attached).
Anyone else having this problem?? or even better anyone else know how to fix this?
Thanks
I got the same problem with xp, too.
I have an Belkin USB adapter and I even started the bluetooth network from the pc with the Belkin software... and in "network connections", the icon looks like it has a connection, but the computer isn't receiving any packages (just sending packages).
So what do I have to do so my Vario IV will connect?
...
I just found out that there is no connection between my Vario Iv and my PC:
I turned my bluetooth on my phone off and let the PC connect with the bluetooth network and it says it's connected.
So, if anyone has an anwser to this problem, please help us.
Thx
Hi Guys
Just got the Diamond2 from devicewire, and I'm really pleased with it.
One thing that differs from my Touch Diamond is that when I try to use internet sharing my laptop* won't recognise it as a BT PAN device.
I realise this may be a bit premature, but has anyone else experienced this yet? Any fixes out there, or even fixes for the Touch HD which may be appropriate?
Thanks
Stoatie

I initially had the same problem until I realised I had to go into Internet Sharing on the Diamond2 and click connect once I had selected Bluetpooth PAN as the PC Connection. Once this was done I was able to join the PAN from my Vista laptop.
Hope this solves your problem.

I don't understand what you mean. Do you mean that you think I wasn't pressing "connect" to connect the two devices up?
Initially I paired the 2 devices and connected them via bluetooth. I then tried to join a bluetooth PAN from my laptop and it showed my diamond2 as a bluetooth access point. I pressed connect on my laptop and got an error message.
It wasn't until I realised that I needed to initiate an Internet Sharing connection from the phone first and then join the PAN from the laptop as well (connecting on both devices) that it worked. And it works fine.
Sorry if your problem is different.
