Hi all,
I have searched around and found no answers.
my tilt was acting up a little so i decided to go back
to my previous best setup of all files.. so i ran my backupfiles (3 month old)
as this one had the right type of files I needed.
When I ran it, it did its thing and when it restarted it said that storage memory is full and some programs may not be able to function.
and ever since I haven't been able to use my tilt.. nothing functions.
I called up the ATT guys (2 AM LOL) and they were like, this is a fone problem and you'll have to take it up with the warranty guys to get it replaced.
I was wondering if there was anything I cud do to stop that replacement as this fone has gone thru a lot of modifications and I dont' wanna lose it!
Don't sound like a hardware issue. If you hard reset your phone and do not load your backup do you get this error? Or does this only happen when you try reinstalling from the backup?
If the backup was done from a different ROM it could be whats causing the problem.
If its happening right after a hard reset without you installing anything then its probably the device.
Check whether you have a recording file in main memory
This could have happened if you accidentally pressed the record button and created a large recording.
These files are usually stored in main memory.
It happened to me a lot in my AXIMS.
You can check by using start-settings-system-memory and there's an option to check which files are eating up your memory.
Another way would be to use the built-in file explorer and goto to the PPCs root directory and check there (or in MyDocuments).
no the backup isn't at fault.
I used this previously and it worked fine.
This time I installed the sprint version of the HTC today plugin and I wanted to get rid of the original HTC today plugin .. removed the HTC today plugin, did a soft reset, and all my data vanished (contacts/calendar details and stuff)..
so I decided to restore my backup which should have restored everything that I lost.
When the loading finished, it said that storage memory was low, and since then I haven't been able to do anything with the fone.. can't even do a hard reset.
It doesn't even respond to a USB being plugged in to re-install the ROM.

Have you tried a hard reset using the soft key combination? That should work regardless of any memory issues that would prevent you from getting to Clear Storage under Settings.
that's what finally worked.
It hit me at 4 in the morning
that there is a manual way
of doing a hard reset without
re flashing ..
thanks for all your interest peeps!
stock rom and everything, just no bloatware.
this morning it worked perfect, about 2 hours later is all retarted.
1)the backlight is dim and doesnt get as bright as its supposed to unless i plug it in
2)when i slide the phone open the screen doesnt flip the other way
3)getting multiple "cannot execute" errors of clocknot.exe, repllog.exe, calnot.exe. these pop up and i have to click OK 20+ times and less than a minute later they came back on again. actually now i cant even get them to go away.
4)i left my phone alone for a while after realizing something was wrong with it and when i came back to it was just constantly vibrating, i dont know for how long but it killed 60% of my battery.
software i installed is just your basic stuff, tomtom, touchflo cube, htc touch dialer and touch today setup, htc home customizer and battery status and i think thats pretty much it.
anybody have any idea on what might have happened? like i said, the phone worked perfect this morning. i put it down, went a swim, came back and it wasnt working right so i did a soft reset and it didnt fix anything. i put it back down, took a nap, came back and it was vibrating and then i did another soft reset and thats when i got all the error messages. so i did another soft reset and still doesnt want to work.
wait, now for some reason it seems to be OK after another soft reset. I DONT GET IT.
so now i received and sent a text message and then closed the phone, it locked and turned the screen off. i then put it on the charged and the screen wouldnt turn back on now matter what button i pushed. but the lights on top blinked and when i opened it the keyboard lit up. so once again....another soft reset
you probably should hard reset your phone. but be aware that it will erase evrything on ur phone and return it back the way it was, so backup ur info
Yes, I second that. Make sure to back up your data before hard-resetting, though, as you will lose it all (contacts, files, everything).
To hard reset the phone, press and hold the two soft keys (buttons on the front that have a dash on them; next to the send and end buttons) while pushing the stylus into the reset hole in the bottom. If you do it correctly, a white screen will come up asking you if you want to do this, and just follow the steps until it is finished.
Please post back and tell us the result.

Use the latest version of "SPB backup" to backup all data before you hard reset and you restore the all applications after a hard reset or even a ROM Upgrade.
P.S: I don't work for SPB... I just like the software

Don't just back everything up as you may just re-introduce the problem on restore!
Back up your contacts and volotile data only (sync it with Outlook if you use it).
Hard reset and then install 1 app/util at a time and test the device each time to check stability.
Hang on a second...
Before you hard-reset...
Open your favorite file explorer application (I use GSFinder, but the default WM6 File Explorer should be fine), and browse to the Storage Card folder. If there's more than one, keep reading.
I store lots of applications on the microSD card itself, and I often take the card out of the Tilt, and put it into a card reader for faster file transfer. Sometimes, this results in the Tilt thinking I have multiple microSD cards when I put it back in. I haven't quite nailed down what causes this (I haven't searched, either, the answer might be on XDA-dev somewhere).
The end result is, the Tilt is looking for stuff that isn't in the /Storage Card folder. Instead, the phone recognizes the card as /Storage Card2 or /Storage Card3.
I have run into the EXACT same problem you've got, with the same errors. Every time, I've been able to correct it by removing the physical card, and then deleting all the /Storage Card (1,2,3) folders that are still on the phone.
After you do that, just insert the card again, and it will be recognized as simply /Storage Card without any numbers after it. Now the applications will work properly, as WM6 will be looking at the right folders.
ok sorry, havent been back on. phone was working great until last night and then it started acting up again. after multiple soft resets it started working fine again this morning.
there is only one storage card listed so thats not my problem but thank you for the idea.
looks like ill just take any stuff of the phone i want when i get home and do a hard reset. do they replace these phones for software issues with a stock ROM?
happened again, should i try to see if they will replace the phone?
anyone know if i need to call to do that or do i need to go to a certified at&t place?
If you are using the Stock ROM and have performed a hard reset and it still has problems then return it under warranty.

There are no more certified ATT places around here, everything is by phone and mail. If it is still under warranty thats what I would do if you are unsure of it's long term condition.
i am still stock ROM. it locked up on me again yesterday and i did a hard reset. hopefully it wont happen again. i dont feel like customizing my phone from scratch yet again
Okay, ive seriously tried about every possible thing on here to get my stupid phone to work but heres my situation.
The ATT Tilt i have was working great up until a couple months ago. At one point it just shut off and then went straight to the RGB screen with
KAIS1*0
SPL-1.56.000
CPLD-8
and "serial" on the bottom
Some of you might say "download HardSPL " or whatever and flash from the computer. Problem is I dont have ANY of the software or hardware that came with the phone. All i have is the phone and its charger. Thats it.
Ive tried flashing through the SD card, and it goes to the loading screen. I've used Dutty's, HyperDragon, and the original ROM as a test base. Hyper and Dutty's i renamed the RUU.nbh to KAISIMG.nbh and it goes to "Loading" and thats it. Ive even tried naming it KAISDIAG.nbh and still nothing. Stays there for a while but doesnt go anywhere. I dont know how long exactly its supposed to take to load the damn thing but every post ive seen makes me think that its just "It loads, flashes and you're done"
The furthest i got was with the original ROM i downloaded that was shipped with the phone. Not sure whether or not the version was correct but then again i have no idea what vers. my phone is or where to find the rom that works with it. Anyways, i used the shipped rom, named it KAISIMG.nbh loaded it, said Checking, then says "Not Allow" with some numbers n **** on the top (0028002), then resets back to the boot screen.
No, its not named KAISIMG.nbh.nbh im sure of it.
Its not a kingston sd or none of that.
Ive formatted, used fat32. (however, i cant make it allocate to 512. windows gives it a "default" allocation size which is unknown to me and i cant change it)
Whats wrong with this stupid phone.
Help me please.
ps. Ive searched the archives frivolously and havent really found anything that completely answers my question.
I solved my own problem.
The file i downloaded called "Tilt_RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_3.57.502.2_radio_sign_25.88.40.05_1.65.21.18_Ship.exe"
Fixed it.
Well sorta.
Since it was an exe i knew i couldnt use it, so i opened the whole thing with winrar, removed the RUU file, renamed it to KAISIMG.nbh and it worked fine!
Well thanks for all the good info throughout the site though. a MAJOR help for someone who thought their $600 phone took a **** on them.

Only problem is you still have your original 1.56 SPL but now have a WM 6.1 ROM so don't expect plain sailing until you properly update it fully (or have it reverted back to a full WM 6.0 installation).

Doesnt work for me. I DONT have hardSPL on my phone already, PLUS, i dont have the cables n things to flash it on my computer. I just want it to work normally!
Did you even read my post?
The screen STAYS on the tri-colored screen. Once i turn the phone on, it goes straight to it, and stays like that. I cant even power it off. I have to take the battery out. Soft Reset, just does that; Resets. Ive even managed to get a nbh. file that reflashes it to the original rom. Once prompted for the power button to reset, i press it and it goes right back into the boot screen.
I need a way to COMPLETELY redo my phone through SD.

Uh, don't tell us you don't have a standard mini USB cable anywhere... you get one with pretty much any computer device you'd buy. You don't need anything more. As said, do an effort or find your way yourself.
I just got a G1 and I enter my contacts onto it, and yet, it seems to delete them seemingly at random. I checked online, and all those contacts appear there, but they're not on the phone where I put them. I'm not sure how to get them to appear back onto my phone without it trying to delete them again. This is pretty frustrating stuff, and I'm close to just selling the darn phone back and getting a Windows Mobile phone (which I know doesn't have this problem). Does anyone know how to stop this from happening?
Hello,
I have a serious problem. Last friday, I receive a brand new HTC ONE, free of carrier, as I live in Nigeria. I put my sim card inside, I sync with google, I personalize with music, photos, msg... and then I make a save on the computer (macbook pro); later on the day, I change some widgets, and few things (when I transfer the music, one time out of two, HTC sync Manager says the device is not connected, whereas it is of course.)
Next morning I want to listen to the music, as it is one of the assets of the device. The music is played for 10 sec, and then stops. I think there is a minor problem, I decide to reboot.
-first surprise, the device starts on the configuration saved on the computer, and not on the configuration of the reboot.
-then I try a factory reset, via the android menu. the device goes into the reset mode, with the two green arrows, turning in the same way, indicating that the reset is being done. But, after one minute or so, a red triangle with an exclamation point replaces the two green arrows.
Then, the device comes back to the saved configuration of the computer.
-I try to perfrom a factory reset, hard reset from the HTC menu with PWR and - button of the unit. but it is the same result as the attempt with the android menu, it boots on the saved configuration.
-I try to download the update android 4.3 and HTC sense 5.5 from HTC servers but once downloaded, the device says the update is corruted and will not install it.
It is a big problem to me because bewteen the moment of the save and the moment I reboot the device, willingly or due to a loss of battery, every piece of content I would create, receive, or add, like music, photo, videos, emails, txt msg... would disapear.
I've tryed to make another save on the computer, but HTC sync manager keeps telling me there is no save done. At the bottom right corner, there is the sync button, and the free space on the device. When I transfer something on the device, even if it is 10 GB of data, the free space is not changing. It stays around 24.58 GB...
I don't know what to do, but I love this phone, and I want it to work properly. If I need to install something, please let me know, but I don't know the basics, like installing custom roms or something else.

thank you for replying in such a short notice, considering the period.
Now, I've looked at your post, and I've tried to find where to download hassoon 2000 toolkit, but it seems so far that every link is rederecting to the link provided in your tutorial, but unfortunatly, in that tutorial there is no link given to download the software.
Do you know where I can?

ok I've managed to get through the video despite the toolkit from squabbi and the one from hasoon2000 are not the same. But I'm blocked to the "flash unlock token" step. I've got the token, the ....code.bin, but I don't know where to put it. In the video, the user puts it in the "data" files but as his file called "data" comes with the AT&T driver or something, I'm lost. I don't where to put the unlocking key
In the fastboot folder
