question about 8525 wifi

hi,i was wondering if there are any pc board diagrams on the onboard wifi chip for the 8125/8525?i was looking into modifying the antenna if possible.also, does anyone know the name of that program to download the bootrom from the 8525 to my computer for backup?thanks
i wouldn't do that ...
the antenna is well optimised for multiple band usage and moddifying it would mean gain on some part of the spectrum and loose on a other part of it..
hence only make it worse..
dell axim.
ok thanks.i was also reading about a wifi antenna mod for the dell axim on here.does anyone know where the link too that article is at?

Turn wizard into Fluke network tester?

Is it possible to adapt the wizard to be able to function like a http://www.flukenetworks.com/fnet/en-us/products/NetTool/Overview.htm
Firstly is there a way to be an ethernet connectible device (maybe via a usb/ethernet dongle??)
Then is there any software capable of checking the reading from the cable to test for connectivety to the wired network and then also to analyze data (Ip addresses/ gateway addresses etc).
I realise I'm asking a lot of this device but if anyone has attempted it I'd be interested to know.
Cheers
?
I'm pretty sure the Wizard can't host usb devices due to hardware limitations, but don't quote me on it. Same with SDIO. It can host a BT gps, so I think that and IR would be your only options. I'd sure love to have a DMM and/or 'scope in my pocket all the time. That would open the door for oxygen sensors and data logging galore. hmmm....very interesting
ok, they make em...googled bluetooth multimeter....but I could buy a real Oscope for what they want for em

Rom from other htc device installation... is that an option?

I thought that well.
Our shift uses an internal cellphone kind of thing... that uses a Quallcom 400Mhz processor... could it be possible, that a rom for TyTN II for example, be cooked and make our shifts hidden parts work ?
The parts used for the gps antenna etc etc... in which other device are they used ?
Or perhaps the bluetooth chip...
anyone knows ...?

Well, it is possible in theory, but the issue is BT, WiFi, Voice (WaveDev) etc. are locked by Vista side of the world. On the other hand Vista uses WinMo as a modem to connect to internet and fetch GPS. I may be wrong too.
thanks

[Q]Wifi speed can't reach 802.11n

I connect Galaxy Note to my 802.11n AP
But the connection speed only 65mbps
My desktop PC connection speed is 270~300mbps
Why Galaxy Note Wifi speed is so slow?

You need to understand how 802.11n works. To achieve 300mbps speed, you will need 2-3 spatial antennas which can be found on modern laptops with Intel Wifi chipset (such as 6300). Our galaxy note has only one antenna (should be 1 for each radio band (a/n, b/g/n), but it is "N" compatible. So your speed is actually pretty good on a single antenna.
Unfortunately this is a case of the manufacturer misleading it's customers (tbh I would say out right lying to us).
As the above poster mentioned the note is compatible with N, however it can not support N speeds, as far as I have seen all phones that claim 802.11n are actually limited to 65mbps. So really are not 802.11n at all, rather just a little faster than 802.11g.
Although having said that unless you are transferring huge files across the network, streaming multiple FullHD streams at the same time, 65mbps is going to be sufficient.
its really misleading, i got upset when found out, also i have the impression that the battery drains faster on n without giving me any faster speed than on bg, maybe one day someone builds a phone with real fast wifi

For further detail on this issue I found this post helpful
I have the same issue with a Galaxy Tab 10.1
does anyone know if it is the same reason ?
how many antennas has is and what should be the max link speed ?
I have a wireless N router, and with my desktop (that's connected via wifi, I have 2, one wifi and one RJ45) I get 300 megs (connection speed) and when I connect via FTP From my phone to my desktop to download files or sync files, I get about 2.7 megs. I'm right next to the router (about 8 feet, clear sight) and the desktop to which I'm syncing is connected via LAN.
I also have this question about what need is for that on a phone. I can view HD videos from Youtube though my slow ADSL and the normal WiFi. You only need 1 - 1.5 Mbps for that.
Even if you were streaming 1080p with 5.1 channel sound, you don't need 100 Mbps.

External Antenna - WIFI, GPS, GSM / UMTS

Hello dear XDA-Team / User =)
I use my Nexus 7 as a CarPC and i would use some externel antennas für Wifi, GSM, UMTS, GPS.
i found this shark antenna -> Calearo Shark Quad Multifunktions Antenne AM/FM - GSM/UMTS - GPS - WIFI
is it possible when i remove the back cover from the nexus 7 and connect the antenna to the device?
whats with the GPS voltage, discriped in the antenna manuel?
thank you.
Or any tablet with external antenna jacks?
I would also be interested to hear if there are any good quality tablets out there designed with built-in external jacks for a similar application.
All of GPS, GSM, and 3G/4G are of interest, but particularly GPS and 3G/4G
Sources like alibaba in bulk quantities would also be OK.
The unit doesn't have to look particularly good, but has to be of good quality.
Will probably start a separate topic on this as well as a 'generic' query.
Just use a USB wifi adapter.
