've had me tilt for almost a year now, and have never been able to get my email to work properly. I don't use any added email program, just use what's included. I use gmail, my gmail acct has pop and imap enabled. I use the included settings on my tilt to set up my gmail account. When I set up my email, It only includes emails from the last 30 days and deletes emails off my tilt after 30 days have passed, so I checked the setting, to make sure it's set to download all emails, w/attachments. I reset up my email and it downloads all the email. It either does the same thing or, it then downloads all the in the "all mail" box from gmail, and not the inbox folder, but it doesn't download any of my recent messages. I've tried to set it up via outlook included on the Tilt via active sync, I've checked my sync setting to make sure it downloads my messages to my phones outlook, which is checked and it doesn't. I've done a hard reset, and tried to adjust all my settings, w/no luck. Any tips on how to get this to work, or is there a free email program available that's easy to use? Thanks
bumping, anyone able to help.
You don't have your account (on the phone) set up using POP do you? I remember that created some odd issues for me so I googled it and found Google's help page:
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=78886
I you haven't seen it before it might be good to follow it's steps. If it's still having issues after that I'm not sure what's going on, sorry.

I have my mail set up through pop3 to connect to gmail and all works fine, except that once I send an email I then receive a copy of the email I just sent. Any ideas?
It doesn't really cause any real functional issues other than just being really annoying.

It sounds to me like you have gmail configured to save sent emails in a sent folder and you have POP configured to download that folder as well.
I think those are settings you probably need to tweak in your Gmail pop settings on the web and not in the messaging client on the device.
interesting, I looked within gmail's settings and did not find anything to do with copies of sent items. is there a way to configure this within wm outlook?
is imap a better interface? does it work with wm outlook?
Thanks
Gmail:
Forwarding and POP/IMAP
1. Status: POP is enabled for all mail that has arrived since 7:49 am
Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded)
Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on
Disable POP
2. When messages are accessed with POP >> keep in inbox
3. Configure your email client (e.g. Outlook, Eudora, Netscape Mail)
Configuration instructions
My understanding is this is a 'side effect' (i.e. nothing you can fix) of how gmail handles E-mails...
Any time you send an e-mail from your device you will receive a copy of it on your phone (when using gmail)..
My understanding is this is limited to gmail only....
That said, I only check my 2 gmail accounts from my phone, and never reply on the phone, so doesn't bother me too much ;-)
Had the same issue. Solved the problem by switching to IMAP protocol. Now everything works flawlessly
And by the way, this relates to Gmail only, other mailboxes work fine

that's odd, I switched to imap last night and tried it out with the same results. I'll check my settings again to verify the changes took effect.
otherwise, it looks like I may be stuck for now. not a big deal, though. thanks for the info guys.
Mine does the same thing from the phone. If I send through my outlook account with my gmail I don't get a copy of the message.
How come the newest version of outlook(possibly the outlook enhancement) doesn't let you switch from imap back to pop access? My imap has been disabled on gmail's site for months now yet my phone wont let me switch back to pop. Any possibilities?
any takers? if this helps "imap" is disabled when I check my settings for gmail on their URL however my device's outlook still sets up as imap and if i try to make a dummy account to default to pop and modify all the fields it fails to retrieve any email even though send/receive/authentication is fine
here's an update, i tried working this out in the registry and i goofed somehow even though i imported back the original settings. I use gmail once again but somehow it's still registered in outlook, just unlisted in account display. Now even though it's unlisted i can't recreate the gmail account and stick with imap until this is resolved
Outlook account type(update 9/24 but unresolved)

yes MS usually is ...for gmail when you are setting up the account dont type in the full address for example in [email protected] remove the m from the com...it should give you the option to manually configure gmail with the POP option enabled..of course you will need to correct that once you are configured
i tried this already. once it's configured back to pop and i do send/receive,it goes through but won't pull any data yet it syncs completely.i know this because i email myself and i don't get it in my inbox however if i go on html version it appears

Hi guys, I just got my AT&T fuze and flashed NATF's 4.4 rom. Everything works just fine except a weird thing after I set up the Google Sync last night.
After Google Sync setup, at the email icon in TouchFlo 3D, it indicates "1" email, while there is absolutely no unread incoming email at all. This remains after I soft reset the phone. Then I tried to delete the Google Sync setting in ActiveSync, but the "1" is still there. Even worse, I then re-set the Google Sync, it turns to be a "2"!!! I even tried to delete all email accounts, but the number is still there even no email accounts were set up.
This problem does not affect any function of the phone but just annoying. Every time I wake up the phone I have to remind my self there is no email...
Does anyone see the same issue? Or how to fix this? Thanks a lot!
Install SK Tools and clear the notification queue.
Jason, I had the same problem. This one "new" email is created automaticly by WM in the Outlook account on your phone and contains instructions on how to use messaging in WM. Just go to the account list on your phone and check the Inbox of "Outlook E-mail". It should be called Windows Mobile E-mail Tips and Tricks.
Problem solved, thank you guys a lot!!!
HTC TyYN. I have five email accounts, set up to manually download. Normally, I download my emails, deal with them and delete them, which deletes them from the server. Every now and then I leave an email or two in my inbox to deal with at a later date (which also leaves it on the server). The following has happened on three seperate occasions: All emails have vanished from all email accounts. New emails are downloaded as expected and the "lost" emails are still on the server, but cannot be re-downloaded to the TyTN. I cannot find any particular thing that causes this. (1) Any ideas why it happens? (2) The TyTN must still think that the email exists as otherwise it would just re-download the email from the server again. How can I get the TyTN to "forget" that it has already downloaded a particular email? Is this something to do with cemail.vol? Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
when i try to sync my emails with my live.de (hotmail) account i always get the error 86000108. if i uncheck the email-sync box synchronization works fine (without email of course). if i check the box again i get this error back (m.hotmail.com).
the used email is my live.id so i can´t delete it from my phone and set it up again afterwards to see if it works fine then...
From memory 86000108 used to relate to having a corrupted item causing the sync to fail. In this case obviously in your mailbox which would explain why disabling it allows the rest of the sync to complete.
I would check Hotmail for any corrupted items and delete them.
Do you have anything else that syncs that mail, Outlook etc?
Yes I have (outlook 2010).
Nevertheless after some hours of swearing and trying I found the solution:
I tried to sync ALL emails, after switching to "only emails from the last month" it works fine. Seems it can´t handle too many mails...
Regards
Similar solution for me - thanks!
It turned out I had a 24mb email that was stopping the sync. Once I permanently deleted the large email, syncing started working straight away.
Just helped a friend with the same issue but a different error code. was his primary live account and it wouldn't sync.
Emptied out his live account but it still wouldn't sync... finally we cleaned out all his messages on his phone (including emptying the deleted messages folder) and that seemed to do the trick!!
