Just got one of these diamonds, unlocked it, put dutty's rom on it etc. Now i have been using an orbit for the past year or so and obviously got used to the speaker sound which was loud and quite punchy.
But i find the speaker on the diamond very bright and tinny sounding. It seems like it needs to go louder as well, i know there are some modified audiopara3 files to up the sound level.
I've been trying tomtom today and because the female voice is bright anyway it sounds very bright indeed now. Also was getting lockups while navigating home today, may have to flash the 08 radio rom later.
I did compare my diamond to another one at work and it sounded exactly the same, so i know it's not my diamond at fault as such.
Just wondered why i don't see anyone else comment about this ?
Ta.....
Ofcourse we all commented mate.
Check this bro, this may help you to make your speaker gets louder.

I recommend you install the lighter boost cab.
yeh thanks i did just get that lighter boost one, so i have a bit more volume now, but tomtom is obviously still very tinny etc.
thanks anyway for the link.

Just wanted to see what others thought about the speakerphone. I find mine to sound not very good when turned up all the way. It is not extremely loud, and has some breakup to it.
Curious how others feel.
Thanks.
hi there..
Well I find kaiser's speaker quality awful. It needs a lot more bass, and hopefully that's a software issue. It starts crackling and distorting the sound when it's all the way up. They could have put a better speaker, it's a business phone and speakerphone is an important feature.

That speaker cant hold a candle to the Stereo Speakers found in the MDA. That's one of my biggest gripes between the two.
Anything played at full volume through it sounds pretty bad. I keep the volume down a bit on all apps to make it sound a little better.
I am going to play around with the HTC audio manager application a bit, they have some presets like "Low Treble" or "Low Bass" that will maybe clear things up a bit.
I've tried to find something in forum but with no luck.
After some weeks of use, my Kaisers started to have a bad audio quality with external speaker, even with ringtones.
I had the original Italian Rom but, also with Dutty's 06, it's the same.
Always distorted audio.
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!
Have you been your device with the volume controls maxed out?
If so, it may be a bad sign. Kaiser's speaker is cheap, and maybe it tears out easily. From the moment I tried to listen to music with it, I could notice lots of cracks and buzz.
But it may be only a defective speaker of yours. Lowing the volume helps ?
ARGH!
mmm
maybe yes
but I've never used the device like an ipod
just only as a phone with the ringtones...
if the speaker is dead, where can I get one new?
:'(
thx in advance
Hi there,
Does enyone know if it's possible to increase the overall volume of the ringtone and sms sounds...? (some kind of tweak mabye) I've got it on max but often I must really on the vibration to notice a sms or call. I often only hear the sound very soft.
Thanks..
ps i've the system volume only on 3 bar's orso, but that shouldn't effect the ringvolume should it??
I too have this issue, sound is pretty quiet to be honest. The answer i got was not helpful, basically said live with it.
yup, it isnt any where near as loud as my K-JAM (Wizard) was, but then my K-JAM was no where near as loud as my Ericsson P900 was, etc etc...
the speaker phone is an absolute joke, unless you are in a sound controlled ultra quiet room.
it seems that with every new phone and the speakers get worse rather than better.
I also find the diamond to be too quiet. I am a truck driver who drives refrigerated wagons. When parked on a bay I use my phone to watch films or listen to podcasts. But with the sound of the fridge I cannot hear anything. My old tytn 2 was spot on for sound. Any reg hacks or third party programs to boost sound? I have looked without any luck. I may have to find a mini usb speaker.
Use a player with pre-amp; for example, CorePlayer.
coreplayer`s volume doesn`t have any effect to windows sounds.
he asked for sms and speach cenversation loudness.
There is a registry hack Swiftblade uses. It's been posted in his ROM thread in the ROM section. That should do the trick
Edit: here's the link to the thread. You'll have to find the right posting yourself, though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408109
ok found it
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\AUDIOGAIN]
"EAC_GAIN_EMBEDDED"=dword:77
but when i look at my registry there is no ...\AUDIOGAIN why ??
i think you have to create a entry
no change, still quiet
I am annoyed by the low ringtone and text message alert volume, too. I'm using the bElite 0.95 ROM and I tried adding that entry to the registry. It did not change anything.
Well if the registry key isn't there I would assume the HTC audiogain application isn't installed, so there's nothing to read that value. Hence making any changes futile.
My advise: try finding the cab for that app, or try with another (perhaps stock) rom
hai im new here,
is it just me or it seems that the x1 sound quality differs when using different roms. i mean the speakers.
not sure how to explain this but last time i use the touch-x rom the x1 sound quality improves a lot, alot less hissing sound compared to stock rom. now im using energy rom and before this i use xperiod on my x1 the sound quality is the same with stock, the quality is bad~~~ no im not talking about the volume, i mean the sound quality.
ah, try running the android 2.0.1 posted by sanjayecb and listen to the sound quality... its really good.(compared to stock/energy/other rom) its same quality with the touch-x rom i mentioned
is there a CAB that i can installed to achieve that?
if this is already been discussed you can just lead me to the related thread, i really appreciate it.
thanks.
p.s. sorry if my english is bad
i see that noone gave a response but i'm new to the forum and i have the same problem i just boutgh a seccond hand xperia x1 with a custom rom wm 6.1 but flashed the energy rom today the latest version i think.. (i'm new to this) and the sound quallity is bad really bad like there is no bass when i'm using headphones. on the last rom the bass would blow my head off.
I've noticed as well that sound quality does change with ROMs - even volume levels change. With the Christian ROMs I found the volume was quite loud for headphones, but sound quality was good. With the 826x series, I think I've noticed a bit more noise, but not while listening to music, simply after button press sounds. With CM6.1 Android, the volume levels are perfect for headphones, and the sound quality is improved as well.
I imagine it depends on the driver implementation for the ROM.
Well this topic has been talked about a zillion times, yes it depends on what roms for sound quality. There is also a cab that increases sound both headphones and speaker very well. I've had my phone for one 1 year 7 months and been using this cab after every new rom install it's called "optxperiabeta02" search it, if you can't find it pm me I have a copy .
Have been using the default WM 6.1 for like 3 weeks, since I bought it (used).
The sound through speakers is terrible, but haven't tried to mod anything, since I use a headset when listening to music and it sounds pretty good.
Hey guys, I've noticed a weird bug with stock 4.2.1 on my Nexus 4, and was wondering if anyone is experiencing the same thing. If not, then perhaps it is the hardware and not the software, but the nature of this bug has lead me to believe it is software-related.
Let me first say, right off the bat, that I have had no other issues with my phone, and that when I play games or watch movies, the volume is loud, clear, crisp--just all around excellent. However, when I use the speakerphone on a call, it seems to be... quieter than everything else. So I tried playing around with it, and discovered something interesting.
The next time you're in a call, put it on speakerphone. Note how loud it sounds to you. Then, turn the volume down one notch, and then put it back up to the max volume again (I've only experimented with it being at max already, then turning it down one notch, and then back up).
Does it sound WAY louder? And does it sound distorted, almost overblown? Why would it be like that during a call, and why would adjusting the volume down and then back up again have such a result if it was NOT software related? And, furthermore, why would it be blown out and distorted here where as for everything else it sounds superb?
Let me know your thoughts--maybe I need to RMA? I got this one at T-Mobile (I didn't have to pay the equipment installment due to my current plan, so it was cheaper to buy it @ $200 from them).
Thanks!
Same Here .. I believed it was the only with this problem since no one had said.
I think is Software Issue.
Yeah I noticed that no one had mentioned this, but I believe if it's software then it must be affecting everyone. At least, it should be affecting stock users. I guess I noticed this sooner because I use speaker phone when I'm driving in the car, since my ragtag bluetooth receiver that outputs through a tape that's plugged into it and inserted into the tape deck only transmits music and notifications, not calls--for some reason--over the car speakers. Just got sick of plugging into the phones headphone jack every time I got in and out of the car! lol

See but mine doesn't crackle or do any of that stuff during calls or anything else. And it's not blown out sounding during anything other than calls where I have lowered the volume and then put it back up to max right after. I don't think the problem is the same as it is here, it just seems similar, for sure.
Also, when not on speaker phone, the in call volume is perfect and without issue. It's limited to specifically what I mentioned in the original post.
Thanks for the reply, but I'm talking about it being overtly loud and only being so when adjusting the volume down and back up to max, and that prior to that, the volume is just a bit on the quiet side at the maximum. Not crackling/popping/etc!
cool..sorry about that.
Exact same situation with me.little buzz while on call nothing else.
