hi
Recently i bought tomtom version 6 and all works fine except the traffic , as soon as i click on traffic the tomtom goes so slow and eventually i have to reboot the diamond.
is there anyone can help me to solve this problem?
thank you for your help.
check your connection settings, TomTom traffic tries to connect to the TomTom server to log in and download data.
if it cant find a connection it will crash.
i have got mda compact 4 and i have same problem makes my device so slow i just turn off the traffic part of it.
i have chacked my connection and its nothing to do with it.

Hello,
have installed ruu_9100_2170702_21707102_20710_qtek_wwe_ship.exe.
As with the previous rom-upgrades, i'm experiencing a very slow - to unsuable - gprs connection.
What's really strange: Connecting my notbeook via bluetooth with my notebook i can browse at relatively good speed from the notebook dial-in connection to the wizard.
Anyone else having this problem? Anyone can help?
Thank you
Chris
seems to have to do with the network.
Was in town today and - gprs went perfectly.
Now at home again - with full network coverage and signal indication - gprs died again.
Called O2 to fix it.
Anyone else experiencing problems with network cells & wizard ?
well...i havent upgraded my device yet so i cannot really compare. in general i dont find gprs THAT fast, a bit slower than a wifi connection i would say.
question for you though: did you manage with the english rom on the german device? how did it work out with the keyboard?
cheers, FunkSpray
it's not that gprs is just slow - at home i almost cannot use gprs.
Regarding the keyboard:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd]
"Locale"="0407"
I've been using my Hermes and now my Kaiser on my T-Mobile Web'n'Walk connection (same SIM). I have the GPRS connection on all the time, and push email working, but randomly (sometimes after a short time, sometimes after a few hours) the connection seems to be dead.
The G indicates that it's still connected, vxUtil pings to www.google.co.uk works, but nothing else works (syncing, web browsing, etc). This is really strange and turning the connection off/on doesn't fix it - I have to actually put it in flight mode and re-enable the phone (which gets irritating quickly).
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Just want to add that IE shows "Locating..." (which I assume is the DNS lookup) and then "Opening..." and just gets stuck there... while ActiveSync just keeps spinning forever and gives up after a while. Ping still works.

It doesn't seem to be related to reception... I could be sitting at my desk with full reception and it would just stop working randomly. If there's low reception I would expect the connection to re-establish itself after I get better reception.
The most weird thing is that PING works but not the actual data transfers.
I've had this problem with my Vodaphone 1615. I work in a rural area and cannot get above 2 bars in my office. I have used Kaiser Tweaks to change the registry so that the connection drops when it isn't being used. This isn't ideal as it takes a few seconds to reconnect every time I want to use the data connection but at least it doesn't hang. Before I was soft-resetting to reset the connection which takes a lot longer.
@doody
I have exactly the same problem with my intenet connection when i use PocketCM Keyboard!
Without PocketCM Keyboard the Intenet Connection works very fine.
Are you use PocketCm Keyboard?

Hmm interesting, but I don't have PocketCM keyboard, and I've never installed it before!
i have the same issue with t-mobile. (uk)
very annoying when using gps tracking software. i think i had it with my last win mob phone so it's not kaiser specific.

I've had it on my Hermes and now my Kaiser. I'm wondering whether it's a T-Mobile specific problem?
certainly seems like it could be our network.
I have the same issue with T-Mobile NL.
After a 1 hour connection the connection stops and must be restarted.
Sometimes I must even do this by stopping and starting the Phone in CommManager.
Not sure if this is related but i have had a few messages pop up saying that i need to end the current call to connect to the internet (something like that).
The strange thing is, no call was in progress. Weird.
I've seen a similar problem, I think. I'm soo new to the this data on the move milarky (I'd probably still be on dial up if I wasn't such a game nut) that I wasn't sure if it was human error, but sometimes the icon would show E with the arrows and neither explorer or google maps mobile would seem to be to connect. A soft reset would resolve the problem.
I'm on O2 btw.
same problem here
I've noticed the same problem when i'm on a bus or a car, listening to streaming radio or using google maps. connection hangs every 20-30 min. but I still can see the "E" with four bars. Sometimes it appears to happen when I receive an e-mail or SMS
It happens also when i'm not moving, but it' less common
Do you think this is a netwok thing? It's very annoying for me to disconnect-reconnect while on the road...
thanks
Hi all.
Since 6 days i'm unsing the HTC Diamond.
Only ive got a big connection problem.
Let me explain:
To use WLM of WMP Live stream there is a internet connection needed (doh)
When using both apps the phone wont switch over to HSDPA, only the G3 icon is present.
Now normally it should connect trough G3, but it wont.
When i open Opera, or IE HSDPA will come up and browsing works.
Now, when i use a WIFI connection all programs like WLM are working properly!
How to fix this? Maybe a regedit witch turns HSDPA always on?! (Battery eater)?
Any other ideas would be very appreciated!
Please somebody?
Hi,
I use iGo8 and TomTom 7 and with both of these applications, everytime I close them I can see that they openend the GPRS connection (internet mobile)... my internet has no limit of use so it's not much of a money issue but the battery is going down pretty fast beacause of this background running data connection ...
Is there something I could do ?
Install nodata.cab from modaco

Thanks for the reply. I tested the software you pointed out. It's a solution except that its pretty boaring to have to lock the internet connection everytime you need to use the GPS (for it's 15 to 20 times a day with a new adress) ...
Any idea on how to disable the connection only for the GPS software ?
EDIT : even with all connections disabled with nodata, the gsp still manages to open the connection !
I had exactly the same problem. I tried the same cab as you and it didn't work... I tired creating a bogus connection and selected it to try and stop the GPRS connection as someone else advised but a GPRS connection kept on opening itself...
Do what I did and flash a stock HTC ROM over your SFR one... It completely solved the problem for me.
You might want to dump the old SFR one first for guarantee reasons.
I use igo8 and it never turns on the GPRS connection.
I don't know if this is the cause, but can you check if assist GPS is ON or OFF?
Mine is OFF which is the default behavior...
If you don't have it, you'll need an app like "Advanced Config" in order to be able to see and change the A-GPS behavior
--Double post--- Ignore
This was the problem ideed. I have direct access to the A-GPS ON/OFF option in the parameters and it was ON. Switched it to OFF and the navigation software don't start the data connection now !
Thanks !
hello
I have a problem and hope someone could help me
I have TT7 on my HTC TyTN2 Kaiser, no problem
but gps works only if I put the phone on.
If I put off phone , wifi, BT, the program works but gps cannot fix any signal (gps is detected but do not fix signal)
Is there something to add or modify to have this working when I put off phone, wifi, BT (airplane mode)
thanks

Workaround :
- enable phone from comm manager
- set a password for your phone
- launch the phone app, it twill ask for your password, don’t enter anything, just close the phone app
- launch TT and it should get the signal fix.
