hi to all
active sync is still running even after exiting on diamond. please can anyone help me out of this problem. i will be very thankful.
Just like mine.
There are loads of solutions on this forum but quite a few of them involve just removing the visability of active sync from the taskbar, which doesn't stop it wasting resources.

Have been using this method myself and works well.

Hello,
I downloaded Fring off of their site, installed the file. Its on my 'desktop' now with an icon and says 'fring is currently offline'...
When I click it, i get a progress icon and then nothing. When I find it in Programs and open it, i get the same thing. I never get any login windows or anything. I am always successfully connected to wifi when I do this.
Is there something I am missing? Do I need to change any memory settings or anything? I am pretty much running my Wing with 'out of the box' settings.
Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated.
chris
I just installed it and ran it with no proble ............. try going to fring.com on your device and download the .cab file from there and re-install it
tried that twice now... seems after the install, it starts up fring and i get the FRING IS LOADING screen but it goes no further. Is this app a memory hog or something? Or is it just buggy?

Last post is from someone who has your same issue on the Wing. I've got a Hermes (TyTN) and it doesn't start on that device either (splash screen pops, then program dies with no error messages, etc.)
Sounds like fring has known about this for awhile but no progress so far Fring support referred me to their blog, but nothing of use their, nor in the forums from what I've found so far:
Thank you for contacting our support team.
We are aware of the issue and working to solve it in the near future.

Not that this helps you much, but Fring worked great first time on my Wing. But then it stopped connecting shortly thereafter, just like you described. But then I uninstalled/reinstalled Fring and it has been working since.
SOLVED
I just solved that problem.
The problem was the program VoipAudiosrv, an error with that program. Just uninstall fring AND voipaudiosrv, restart your phone, and reinstall fring. You will be asked to re install voip audio srv: do it. Now it should work.
I've searched for an answer in these forums and can't find one. I have tried some suggestions from here to no avail. Well...here's the problem. I've had my Tilt for a couple of months. All has been great and i love it...up until now.
I've put several roms on it and they've all worked fine. Got that down...I thought. I can't get activesync to see the tilt on any of my computers. It won't find it on the laptop I've been using to load. My desktop at work, that I've been using sometimes to load it, won't see it and it won't even connect on a new computer in my office with fresh ASync 4.5. Like I said....it has been working fine I just decided today to load a new Dutty rom and I can't even hook up. Wow....this is so aggravating. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Activesync is still on the tilt too. I've killed the program in taskmgr. I've stopped all running apps in the tilt. I have 2 different cables also. By the way....I don't care to wipe it clean...if I need to. Any suggestions as to what I can do? If anyone's got any clues to what my problem could be I would be eternally grateful. Thanks in advance for responses.
Desparate!
Please help me....if you can. I know there's a tremendous amount of knowledge here. Surely someone's been through this same problem and was able to fix it. I've seen another post similar to this and he's not getting an answer to his problem either. If I we need to contact HTC....please recommend that. Some of you "tilt masters" please respond. Thanks in advance.
Also I had a similar problem and i had installed a blackberry program on my tilt. That created a connection problem between my tilt and the sync program and it couldnt see my tilt. I figured out that the blackberry desktop program thought it had dibs on my tilt because the bb was on my tilt. I removed the BB off my tilt it did a hard reset and then proceeded to manually remove every windows mobile device partnership there were many. Rebooted my computer and tried it again and it worked. You could try a hard reset and then and then use system restore to a few days before you had the problem and see if you can trick it.
I had this problem.
Hard-Reset fixed it
Thanks for the replies....I've tried the hard reset twice and that didn't work either. Have been on the phone with HTC support and we did several things. Still not working. He was supposed to call me back in 10 min but didn't for a couple of hours. Anyway...I've got to contact them back and take up where we left off. Surely we can get this thing going again. If HTC can fix it....no one can. When we get it up and going...i'll report back here for others future needs. The phone works great besides that!
Again thank....and anyone else have a suggestion.
Please respond to...

Thanks..
Check the USB pins on the unit, mine were bent down and did not make contact, i think from memory the 3rd pin in is the data connection.

so ive search wiki and so on.. and even tried kaisertweak to set my net to auto disconnect after 10mins BUT i cant seem to get it to work.. sure if i use IE it works just fine.. but i have activesync to check once every 4hrs for exchange changes. ive tried every which way making sure nothing else is running but it still will not disconnect. is there some kind of 3rd party app i could maybe use or a actual good working reg tweak? i know kaisertweak says the disconnect feature may not work with some apps.
Strange......KaiserTweak is working fine for me. Before that I had Bandswitch installed. Might want to give that a try.....
thread moved due to posting in wrong section
flar, i did post under kaiser section on purpose.. because on my 8525 it auto disconnects with the reg setting.. but my tilt/kaiser wont.
if i remember correctly your thread was in upgrading which is only meant for rom issues.
Greetz,

So, I am sure someone else has wondered this, but I am having a dreadful time actually getting an answer. I used to use Missing Sync for my Mac, but now that I have a Vista 64 laptop I can't use Missing Sync. I absolutely can't stand WMDC, not to mention it forces me to use WMP.
Is there another program that I can use to sync with my phone?
Please redirect me to the appropriate thread if this topic has already been discussed.
Thanks everyone.
I'm having the same problem. WMDC simply doesn't work. I haven't been able to sync or anything since Christmas.
Can someone help me. I put windows 6.5 on my phone, added a few games my problem is my phone froozed on me. I try to do activesync to my computer and it no longer works. I have the Tilt. Can anyone help me to fix this? Thanks
