Once upon a time there was a tiny little application called Quickmenu: it used to do everything I expected from a Start Menu, a launcher, a battery meter, a Task Manager.
Then came Manilla and her powerful UI "occupied" the upper right corner of the screen. Now I can't use the QM's main feature (the battery indicator) 'cause, even disabling Taskmanager, the corner doesn't show the battery meter.
I know it's minor bug and probably no one noticed it.
Just asking if there's someone around who's been able to solve this.
Thank you everybody.

Nice little story I hope it has a happy ending lol. Unfortunately QuickMenu battery meter will never work with Manila2D. Try installing this battery meter its not the same as QuickMenu but it has a percentage reading which is invaluable for me and it gave me a happy ending:

Yes! I've been missing this ever since I started using M2D. I loved the percentage battery meter that QuickMenu had, so this is much appreciated. Thanks a bunch!
The battery meter worked for me with QM and M2D installed but since I don't like QM's meter over the taskmanager I disable it.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person that feels this way. I freakin' loved the Quickmenu's battery status indicator. I prefer being able to see the exact percentage of charge I have remaining, but I guess I'll have to live without for now.

did u do a soft reset? it changes the battery at the top to a percentage battery so u can see exactly how much you have left. See the pic below.

Did you try to enable in Quickmenu's options, "View" tab: "Show battery on taskbar" and also "Show on all titlebars" ? It might shift the % icon to the left and free up the upper right corner.

Yeah, I tried the centered solution, but that position cuts off the borders of both the icon and the percentage...and it occupies lots of space in the bar.
The "greenbatteryfix.cab" seems a much smoother solution. Thanks mskip

Oh, I know why your cab didn't appear to work for me. All your cab does is change the actual battery status indicator overlay. The reason nothing was showing up after installing your cab is because I have my settings so the clock shows on the title bar instead of the battery status indicator.
It looks like I'll have to choose between being able to instantly check the time or my battery status. I love how QuickMenu allows both the time and battery status indicator on the title bar at the same time.
I really appreciate the time you took to help. The screenshot you posted is what made me realize why I wasn't seeing any results with the cab you posted. Thank you.
Hopefully there is a solution waiting to be discovered.

Is there a reason why you can't instantly check the time using the really big clock on M2D's UI? Also, the battery automatically changes to the clock anytime I you run a program, so you should be able to see the time no matter which screen you are on.

I was just fiddling about with my xda, I was inputting a name into the contacts, I had shift enabled on the onscreen keyboard and I was typing letters in with my thumb... I must've mashed something odd, because all of a sudden a weird balloon popped up, never seen it before on my XDA, showing "next appointment date/time" and what looked like a small battery icon with a line that resembled lightning going through the middle on the left hand side of the balloon... It didn't have the Luna theme (with the blue top title bar), it was pretty monochromatic, and it had a clock in it on the right hand side. It appeared on the top right of the screen.
... Stupidly, I tapped out of it, without taking a screenshot, and I've been unable to replicate the situation (I can't get it back, and it's really winding me up because I'd like to know how I did it in the first place!)
Any comments / suggestions / solutions appreciated =D
Isn't it just the bubble that usually shows when you tap the clock?
When I tap the clock it just shows the Clock & Alarms settings page (the one with the Time and Alarms tabs)...
... This was a small balloon bubble with a black border, white bg and black text, very confused still as to where the hell it came from! :/

That sounds very wierd :? The clock should be there when you buy the device.
You can add clock, disable clock or add clock & date via registry hacks.
I can't explain how you activated the bubble though.
Well I got it through O2, so it already had some of their own custom 'enhancements' ¬¬ ... The clock and the date showing up together up top are a Today plugin called "clockinfo" which was supplied with it, if memory serves (as is the battery monitor, o2BatteryPlugin, that comes with the O2 Active UI). I managed to stop the O2 Active UI (o2aui in the Today settings) from autoloading at boot, but I still can't find a way to remove the O2 icon from the start bar without starting over with my device config and using a hacked custom cab to get rid of it (it comes as one of the programs that's preinstalled from the SIM or the ROM, whichever it is, before you can even use the phone when you first start it up or after the battery runs totally flat).
The signal strength and signal indicator bars are there forcibly, I've not found any way to move them. If I press/tap and hold down on the O2 icon on the start bar, I can get a dialog which I used to move it to the left some more (by default it's slap bang right in the middle of the start bar, which is totally unhelpful), The icon next to the O2 icon is the Switch app, which I use to kill Internet Explorer before it crashes my XDA if I have more than one window open (nice to know that PIE is as bug-free as IE6 :roll: :wink: ). The rest is just default, I've not added or removed any other icons from the start bar.
Very confused, but thanks for clarifying where it came from somewhat... Could you possibly take a screenshot of what it looks like on your JAM (with Pocket Screen Capture or whatever you use, if you don't already have a screencap app) and stick it on here just so I can make sure that we definitely are talking about the same thing? I want to make sure I'm not going crazy again (don't ask. Haha)
Cheers already for the responses, much appreciated.
Christopher
UPDATE - it WAS O2's customisations that removed the registry keys for the standard WM2003SE clock. I reset my device, did a Corporate install, and it came up first time. I also managed to enable it via a registry hack on the first installation (before I reset the device), so both ways work.
to remove the o2 logo from the top left of the screen, go settings> system >windows>fonts > delete the font

Hi guys,
Since a few days I own a Diamond (coming from the TyTn II) and I was wondering something :
Is it possible to have somewhere in TF3D a meter telling the percentage of the battery-status ?
I just to have Batterystatus Extended installed on my TyTn II and it worked very well.
I've tried to install it onto the Diamond, but TF3D doesn't show it (only if I disable TF3D, which I don't want to do).
Is there a possibility to show the status of the battery (as a percentage) in TF3D ?
You can use this app, works great with the Diamond, shows the battery percentage inside the battery icon.

Thanks, works indeed like a charme !
installed, but when charging the percentage doesnt change. stays at 20. should it change to the "plugged in" icon?

When plugged in it should show the plug icon, mine does.
Try doing a soft reset.
Just outta interest, mine's the same.
Plugged in it just displays the percentage it was until it is unplugged, at which point it shows the new percentage.
Other than that a really usefull app!
Bonjour,
I use ArielBattery 2 and it's work like a charm

WkTask does that.
I'm using that as a task manager/switcher, and has a thin line on top that tells you the batt amount.

I'm using Batti. Shows a bar from the top left to the top right. The more to the left, the more empty the battery.
Left pic is charging, right pic while normal use.
thats better, thanks, more configuration possiblities. does it work in landscape?

Hello.
Today so wired because 'a tiny green spot' as I wrote...
By the way, I am so confuse this point.
My previous one is Trinity (WM5.0).
In power window, My previous one shows 'Remained Capacity' as graph and number.
However, This one just show bar graph. It is quite inconvenience for me.
I would also like to know how to get more information on battery status than the small taskbar icon...
yeah me to..got mine yesterday after using the htc touch for 2 years.. but i guess you can't see the capacity..lets wait for a app
Batti 2.4
I'm almost 100% sure the Topaz doesn't show the battery status as a percentage.
Maybe you could try Batti 2.4. It shows a colored bar at the top of your display.
It works in VGA displays, i think it should also work on WVGA.

Don't forget, you can go into the Power settings of the phone (through advanced control panel/settings) and see the power bar with a bit more detail
Also you can see when the last time you charged, standby hours, how much the phone has been used since last charge
It's actually really cool in the sense of information you can finally see

apologies... seems the topaz / rhodium version of tf3d I was using on my touch pro is better than the one we actually got with the device!
I like to use GreenBatteryFix. I used a version of it on my Kaiser and the same version works now on my D2.
Basically it removes the 4 bars from the battery icon and puts a percentage number in it's place.
Go to the link below to download all of the versions and give them a go, not sure which version i use that works but i'm sure one of these should work.

Has anyone else tried this "BatteryFix" on the TD2, and if so, what version did you use that worked?
I installed FinixNOver cab with percentages and it works fine here. But I wonder I had a TD before and Shaks ROM installed on it named Topaz ROM. So there was a better notification screen with battrery status with percents. I can't see such here. Maybe we have to activate?

I posted the link to this guide in the Homescreen snapshot thread, but I guess it will get better coverage as a separate thread. This guide is courtesy of Notto over @ Xoom Forums.
I've seen many posts by people struggling to get this to work and the common reply to date has been to persevere and it will eventually work. Notto has put together this, his shot at a detailed explanation of how to set up the vertical battery widget using Minimalistic Text with screen shots.
How to set up minimalistic battery widget
Steps
1. Download minamilisticText widget from the market
2. Touch the plus in the top right hand corner of your home screen (the add widget button) and select the 1x5 vertical widget
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3. This will take u into the settings screen for the widget. It will always be in vertical screen. Do not change any of the settings, just hit back and go back to the home screen. Make sure the widget appeared. It should show the time in text sideways.
4. Then tap on the widget and go back into settings. (I know this sounds stupid but trust me, changing the settings right away can screw it up)
5. Set up the settings, this is the hard part everyone has trouble with
Name - change it to whatever, I chose BatteryVertical
Background - uncheck show background. This will give it a transparent look
Widget direction - left to right
for the other three under orientation make sure their all the same with center selected
Predetermined layout - select custom
Custom layout
1. First you want to long hold on the three boxes in the first row, one at a time. After selected a trash can will appear, drag and drop and the box will be remove. It should just be one row with nothing in it at this point.
2. Then you want to click on the second button on the right, the green add button, not the plus sign. This will add another row. You want to press this 9 times. This will give you a total of 10 rows. If you want 0% you can add that as well. The only difference is the extra row in this part and then font size.
3. Now you click on the plus sign on the right, this will pull up a menu. Click on the battery section on the bottom. Scroll over to battery level bar 100%. Put this on the top row. Repeat these steps for each of the battery levels. Put one % on each row, descending from the top.
Text style
Normal/Non accented - You want these both the same
Font family - default
Bold/italic - unchecked
Size - 30 for no 0 / 28 with
Case - normal
Color - white, just the default as white as possible
Use system cold - unchecked
Blur ratio - 0
Accented
Font family - default
Bold - checked
Italic - unchecked
Size - 50 without 0. / 48 with
Color - you can use whatever but I use FF118AEB under hex to match the system color as best as possible
Blur- 0
6. Hit save
This is all you need to set up the widget, it works in both landscape and horizontal. Hope this works for all of you.
I can't seem to find my saved preferences

Try setting up the widget on another screen (not Home screen) and then after setting up drag it back to the Home Screen. this seems to work for me as I also couldn't find the widget on the Home Screen after trying to set it up there.
Great job on the GUIDE!
And yes, try setting up the widget on a blank screen and then dragging it to the screen you want.
MT is not optimized for honeycomb yet and can be a bit buggy at times.
Excellent tutorial thank you! Honestly this was bugging me in how to achieve!

Hey,
I've designed my own MIUI Lockscreen based on the Sense 3.0 Lockscreen by dima_sk8er:

}
Video:http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/2463/ljfw.mp4
Download HERE
It's in German. If someone likes an English version, tell me. It's not a big deal, as many of you will probably know.
It's based on the Sense 3.0 Lockscreen by dima_sk8er, with some modifications, such as:
- Pulsating-Circle-Target ( I'll upload a video in the next couple of hours, looks cool
- Music-App-Starter (I couldn't find a way to add music controls)
- Different Time-bar
- App and SMS Count
- Battery-Level bar, and that's where my problem begins:
I made the battery-level-bar also show up, while the phone is not charging.
But it seems like the bar only updates after plugging it in and pulling it off again.
I tried updating the bar every 200ms by typing this:
Code:
<Image src="charging_progress.png" alpha="255-#battery_state*255">
<PositionAnimation>
<Position x="#battery_level/100*480-480" y="128" time="0"/>
<Position x="#battery_level/100*480-480" y="128" time="200"/>
</PositionAnimation>
</Image>
Unfortunately that didn't work as well.
Any suggestions?
Thank you

You want the battery level to update via image?
FYI,
The battery level bar only appears in charging if you have set a category="Charging"
The code above is for animation of the charging progress, if you want to animate the charging progress the code would be in my Galaxian Lock Theme as well as the for fun Benchmark i made

There is an animation for charging..WHILE Charging!
But take a closer look at the Code. The Image shows up while NOT Charging, because I want it this way. BUT there is no (visible) animation. The Position Animation should update the position every 200ms. You won't recognize any animation, unless the Battery-Level changes. At least: That is the plan. But it doesn't seem to work.
The Animation for the Charging Progress, while Charging works fine (check out the video).
And YES I want the Battery_Level updated via image, because there is no Mask, the image just changes the X-Position, depending on what Battery_Level you got.
I think there should be some kind of "update function" for the Battery_Level while not charging. When i plug in and pull off the phone it gets this "update" and repaints the battery-level bar in the way I want it to.

okay now i see what our little problem here,
The battery level position does not update when charge, i tried just a text with parameters battery level and it is stuck with the last percent charged.
If it is 76 when pulled out of the charger, it stays 76 even battery is down at 50 already, maybe thats why miui has put that in category charging for now.
thats the main reason why the image position dont get updated
And also maybe they dont bother because if you use top bar there is already that feature in the notification. I actually am using top bar in battery indicator style and when i load it i thought it was weird. lol, two bars. That top bar one is updating anyways so there might not be a need for another feature in the lock screen.
Try this sample:
Alpha means this picture only display in non charging state, and will became transparent gradually along the unlocker dragging.
1. <Image x="162" y="#screen_height-84" src="hs_path_bg.png" alpha="(255-#unlocker.move_x/100*255)*min(1, abs(1-#battery_state))"/>
I need a LockScreen Widget that shows up during charging only
Could anyone help me find or create one for me a LockScreen Widget that shows up during charging only with medium to large sized battery icon with current percentage. I have a custom rom installed, and I just need this additional feature added to it. Alternatively I also like the green line as current status of battery as shown in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151488.
I am new to Android world. I installed BlueTopia custom ROM on my HD2. I could be contacted at mohiuddin.abdullah @ gmail. com in case of any questions. Thanks in advance for your help.
