Hi,
My Diamond has started behaving strangely.
It does not show the accurate status of battery.
Like, after fully charging to 100%, after leaving it sometime, or using it, it still shows 100% or may be 98%, and after a soft reset, it shows something like 90% or even less.
Why is this happening?
I even tried restoring it to earlier dates, but this problem comes again.
It something wrong with the battery, or maybe battery drivers?
Could someone please help?
Thanks.
Same problem here... i had about 1/8 of my battery power left today, i did a softreset and now i had only 1 pixel of my batterybar... the mobile shut down after the message that the battery is empty...
i can confirm this issue on the touch pro too.
today i had 84%battery when i removed it from the charge..About 5min later when i soft reset the phone it showed 100%..
Maybe its a good idea to charge it when switched off?

Has anyone else experienced a problem where battery meter sticks at around 65% despite being fully charged. When soft reset it goes to 100%.
It's not a battery cell issue - battery life is fine. It's simply a meter misread.
Not that i have noticed although ill say that the battery meter on the Diamond isnt all that great...its not really a good indicator as to how long the battery has before it goes dead.
Yup, mine tends to stick at 80%. At least it did in ROM 1.35. Burned yesterday the official 1.37 and we'll see how it goes...
sometimes, mine is also doing it...still cant figure out why thou...
OK, with the new ROM, the phone connected to the PC charged smoothly from about 46% to 100%. I'll see probably tomorrow if the charger makes any difference.
How long do you find the battery takes to charge from around 15% to 100% using the power pack, not computer connection???
Hi Guys,
Does anyone has more info about this ?
When i charge my device (from charger or by PC Usb), it won't go pass 89% battery charge, therefore never warns me when it's complete.
I know it charges to 100%, so it seems to be a problem with the software.
This is quite annoying, has i never get the "Battery Charged Warning" while plugged in.
My ROM Version (Original) 1.37.410.3 PTG
Cheers and thanks.
Anyone still experiencing a flakey battery meter? Sometimes mine will read 90%. Then, within two minutes it will be down to 45%. But if I soft reset, it will go back up again. Some days it's all over the place and I actually have no idea what the battery level is.
I'm using QuickMenu. Anyone have any suggestions or similar experience?
Happened to my unit as well. It doesn't happen all the time though. Sometimes it will charge up to 100% just fine and other times it hangs somewhere between 70-90%.
I've this problem, the battery meter indicates for a lot of time the same value (eg. 98%) but if i'll reset the phone i can see the real value (eg. 45%)
it's very strange

depends on what current the powerpack is supplying, it will probably be either 500mA (0.5A) or 1A. Obviously the higher the current the quicker it will charge.
A PC USB connection can provide 500mA maximum, where as a mains carger will supply 1A or 2A (think its 2A if you have a proper Diamond charger).
A car charger will vary, when the engine is off you will get 1A if you are lucky. With the engine running you will get 2A, but during the engine starting you can get a peak of up to 5A (phone killingly good).
All of these measurement can vary!
i have the same issue, too
yes. my battery meter is incorrect, too. exact same behaviour as you mentioned. 65% -> after reset 100%. nearly all the time. that's very bad, because my battery lives about 1 day without charging and in the evening i don't know how full or how empty my battery is. sometimes the remaining 8 % are real 8 % and sometimes (after a restart again) the shown 8 % are more then 30 %.
I've tried about 6 roms and get the same thing with all of them. It happens infrequently but is still annoying. Basically, if I'm suspicious of the battery level, I soft reset to verify.
it's "normal" that behaviour, because also battery check is made by OS (WinMobile) at prestabilite polling times, search in the registry for "batterypoll" and you'll see a value expressed in seconds (I suppose they are secs), try to lower those values and see what happens, of course shorter polling times drain battery faster
bye,
davide
Any solve for this now?
I also have this problem, sometimes only but still very anoying.
A soft reset seem to be the only solution at the moment.
It happen to me always too!
It was 40%, after I played Monopoly games for 1 hour, it still showed about 39%. When I soft-reset, now it show only 25%. What a huge drop!
im also getting this problem.. anyone has gotten a solution to this yet??
Maybe worth a try.

I think that why TF3D doing reset during night while charging...
I disable TF3D every night, so no reset at night but as side effect sometimes battery does'nt arrive to 100%
My diamond has sometimes the same behavior. The battery gauge sometimes showes only 50 percent or so and after a soft reset it showes full. I had this issue a few months ago, too. The the battery gauge showed correct values and now I have the same issue again.
I am pretty sure it is some kind of a software problem, but I have no idea which software disturbs the battery gauge. I had this issue never with my touch, but only with the diamond. I anyone has suggestions ülease let me know! Thank's a lot.
I report a problem occurred with charging the battery:
never reaches the full load but stops at 75% and the LED does not become ever green to indicate a full charge.
U think that there is some software conflict?
I'll try a full recharge after an hard reset.... but first of do it:
some of you have the same problem? Is there any solution?
Thank you

It just takes "some" time to charge, but mine gets to 100%.
same problem here.after 7 hours of charging i always find it at 84%
if i make a soft reset then tha indicator shows 98% and after 2 minutes fully charged.
i think it is a rom or radio problem.
i have heard others have issues with the battery indicator too...
same problem too. After off/on or softreset reported full charged. Even with amazing FInixVGABattery soft. It will be solved out by new ROMs
I can confirm: no softwares conflict but only a Diamond's bug!
Tanks to everybody!
charged fully at 74% but once I made a soft reset, it showed 99%. So just a small reboot
I don't have any charge issues with my TD2.. Even with FInixNOverBattery app...
Battery status always reporting correctly without any errors..
Well, this problem is certainly not for everybody. Mine charges fine to 100% and then shows a green led. Maybe a faulty device?
Im another one with this problem, after an over night charge battery only shows 76% but after a soft reset it goes up to 100%, just a pain resetting it every morning guess im lucky i use memmaid to soft reset rather then have to take back cover off etc.
The same problem
Hi I have the same problem with HTC Diamond 2 - I charge it over night and in the morning is there 75%. After soft reset it is on 100%. Is there already some solution? Thank you a lot for help.
Have a look here - but no solution yet:
Battery Charge issue - bug? Reproduceable?
hey everyone my sister has a milestone and she is having trouble with the phone battery. she says that she fully changes the phone and then at any point, the phone shows the sign that the battery is discharged and then reboots... then the battery shows the charge again, I tried moving from stock to cyanogen which took the problem away for some days but today it happened again. what can it be help!
hmm. i dunno. anyone?
the weird thing is that she just got it back from warranty... the screen was not working
Sounds like a battery problem. I once had my phone show 1% battery-level for like 7 hours (!) before it shut down. Some other time it would show 100% even though it just had been charged for minutes (starting at 5%). I fixed both issues by recalibrating the battery (search the forum, there's lots of info, most OR even have a script for that). I also leave the phone connected to the charger a couple of hours longer even after it says it's fully charged.
But if the phone actually reboots even though the battery has been fully charged, it really sounds like a hardware problem.
try a new battery
Before buying new batteries, just try calibration.
For me, the mentioned case of shutting down with a so-called empty battery was happening only with a stock 2.1.
Since then this issue never occurred again. So a faulty battery is not necessarily the first answer.
how to properly recalibrate OnePlus 3t battery to avoid phone switching off at 20-30℅?

Your phone starts to shut off at 20-30%?
yep
sounds like a defective battery.
I've gone from 100-0 a few times and it's never shut down before 0.
Try this after wiping cache only in recovery mode:
After phone turns off, try to turn it on and see if red writing appears, telling you that your phone doesn't have enough battery. After that, charge your phone up to 100% and leave it at that level still connected to the charger, for 10 minutes. Then use up the battery normally. Repeat until phone shuts off at 0%.
This might be a little late for your question, but I just want to share my experience here.
Recently, my phone kept turning itself off at a little below 30%. If I tried to turn it on immediately, it showed the red low battery alert. If I charged it for a few minutes and turned it on, the battery would show 30%+. That proved it had not suddenly dropped to zero and turned itself off, as I understood a defective battery would.
I checked the Net, and it seemed that lots of people have the same problem as mine. On top of the recommendations were to replace the battery and a factory reset.
With the info I gathered, I decided to try battery calibration, and installed this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration&hl=en).
I restarted the phone three times before running the app (idea from an OP discussion). As instructed by the developer, I let the phone continue charging even when capacity reached 100% (orange container on top). In my first try, I only waited for the orange container below to fill to the max, then started calibration (even when the pop-up message was telling me it's still early). That was a mistake. After that, the phone started dying at a little below 40%. In my next try, I let the charging continue even when the orange container at the bottom showed full, until the app notified me it was ready for calibration. I calibrated, and my phone's battery is fine again.
Has anyone else notice problems charging yet?
When charging using the supplied adapter, the battery percentage stops increasing at some point. 46% or 67% etc it just stays stuck even though the charging symbol remains.
The phone stays hot like it is charging, but it still says '46% 1 hour remaining to fully charge etc'. If you leave it for an hour, it stays at 46%. If you unplug and restart the phone, it will be at 100%.
I hope this is a software bug? It seems others are impacted too. google support link below.

Mine is working fine
Same error, but on 92%. I didn't restart the phone, and after 5 hours without charger battery level went down normally.

Same for me here. I'm monitoring the issue until next week and then decide what to do

Surely that just sounds like a software issue or glitch. It's not stopped charging, it's just not updated correctly?

yes it appears that way. hopefully.
Hi ! Mine is stuck at 100% after charging at night. I use the google pixel stand. After rebooting battery falls down rapidly to the correct amount but it gets stuck everytime I charge it back fully with the stand. I'll need to try with wire charging though to see if the issue is the same.
No such issue with my Pixel 5 Sorta Sage here in Australia. Sounds like a software glitch though. Had mine for 3 days now and it's been going really well. I'm also not seeing this "gap" issue that others have mentioned either.
After my pixel shutted down at 1% battery (24 hours standby and 7.5 hours of screen)
I put it to charge and turned it on and left it charging.
I came back later. And the phone was at 1% level still charging. With battery saver enabled
I restarted and the phone was already at 100%
What the hell is going on.
I used my Pixel 4 charger instead of Pixel 5 but they look like the same charger with type C power delivery

Mine has this issue too - same with different adapters, but doesn't happen every time with the same adapter. When plugging in it will go up a couple of % over a few minutes, then gets stuck - it might go up another percent randomly here and there, but not at the "actual" rate that it's charging.
Restarting seems to force it to update to the correct charge percentage, but not to carry on increasing at the correct rate. Tempted by a factory reset!

Mine got stuck at 69% for over 12 hours, i had to do a factory reset for sending the phone back anyway and it was still at 69% after the factory reset. So i don't think factory reset will do any good. Probably a software bug they need to fix.
I've also just seen this, the charge indicator got stuck at 47%, when reconnected the charging cable, the charge indicator quickly got up to around 80% and then carried on at a normal pace.
Same here. Stuck at 44%, then 88%, then 100%, then 96%. Some people were suggesting that it's a bug related to the far-right icons in the customization of the launcher. Don't know if that's true but defenitely will give it a try
There is some update in Pixel forums. According to it, will be fixed in a future software update.
