Is there any "fun" bluetooth software outthere anymore. It always fun to be able to mess with your friends but I have not been able to find anything for a long time that will allow that happen. Any ideas?
Yes I too would like to use BT to listen in on conversations, DOH I mean have fun with friends.
Interesting... I Didn't even know there was such a thing...
either did I. Is there?
I have something called Smurf, it's a program for Bluejacking anything bluetooth aware. No idea where to get it as it was somewhere obscure and it crashes if I try to access the about screen (rest of it works quite well though).
Here looks favourite for a website, but I might be wrong -
http://www.gatefold.co.uk/smurf/
I have a cab for it called "SmurfSetup04", so it looks like it's that url...
Hope that helps.
This should be interesting if i can get it to work... lol oh well...

Blue Jacking
Ok, firstly its an offence in most counties as its considered hacking under most laws but for information purposes:
Bluetooth phones that were able to be bluejacked were only made about 4 years ago as all the bluetooth pairing stack has been hardened since then try to prevent this.
Im sure its proabably possible with the right kit, essentially using the original exploits you tricked the traget device into a situation where it thought that you were re-pairing a device and explioted this.
Anyway, probably the most fun thing you can still do over bluetooth is with a program called bluetooth sniper, this lets you send images and text to target phones whilst re-writing your bluetooth id. Its also possible to send messages to phones where the bluetooth is turned on but set to hidden mode.
It also has a war mode, you set a message, it scans for all phones, send the message to all local phones and then does it again and again and again.
Use with caution as you can expect other phone users get a bit pissed after the 10th or so bluetooth message
If your running linux and not a ppc theres a bit more things you can do like:
http://trifinite.org/trifinite_stuff_carwhisperer.html
this is the sort of attack you talk about, however it relighs on the bluetooth's device to still have the default pass key, which many have.
http://www.secuobs.com/news/05022006-bluetooth10.shtml
this is a dos attack i belive for bluetooth
there is also
http://www.net-security.org/software.php?id=519
redfang which attempts to brueforce the passkey on the device, this is slightly diffirent from the original method used for btcrawler.
Anyway, like i said i wouldnt advise doing or using any of the above as its very very very naughty indeed !!
Great - thank you for the info. I will continue to do some more research and find out which one of these still works. I own a copy of the bluetooth sniper (yes, I bought it) and it never seems to work very good. The problem is you have to have the "passkey" to the other phone to be able to do anything.
Anyways - I'm not going to spend tons of time on it, as I just had some buddies I wanted to mess with. If anyone else has any other programs out there that does not require the remote users passkey I would love to hear what they are!
Tare Care....
Plazma remind me to never piss you off. Awsome info.

Don't confuse bluejacking with bluesnarfing.
Bluejacking is actually harmless (although possibly annoying) and involves sending a contact with a message to the bluetooth device concerned.
I haven't used Sniper, but Smurf didn't require a pass key and is free (forgot to mention that bit). Worked with a Sony Ericsson phone and a Nokia phone my friends had, their MacBook's and an Asus machine running Vista...

i tried to download sniper but it said it does not support my firmware or something like that, so i did some research and found it need one of the old .net frameworks. i found the download in the Sniper forums but you need to join to download it... but of course i tried to join (about 2 months ago) and i still have not gotten the 'moderator approval' so i cant download it and thus cant run sniper
Sniper wasn't any fun because to do anything at all, it always pops up the passkey screen on the remote users phone.....thus, your name (device owner name) would always display and make the remote user connect with you. I am anxious to try this smurf program; however, I can't seem to get it installed. All of the new custom ROM's do not appear to have SQL CE installed on them, which is requires - and I can't seem to find the proper cabs to install it on the tilt. If anyone has the proper cabs I need, please post them!

Indeed, bluejacking is often confused with bluesnarfing(which I have an app that will do bluesnarfing, bluebugging, and hellomoto attacks.) Believe me there are still PLENTY of phones and devices still susceptible to bluejacking, just not many still bugged for bluesnarfing or hellomoto attacks.
I've actually made REAL friends by bluejacking(bluejacked a nice lookin lady at the music store once as well as a bartender.)
If you're grey hatted.... check out bluezard... I believe it's www.wm-soft.com but it's not freeware(worth the money imo.) In addition to the attacks there is a built in console where you can attach to any of the remote services and send AT commands(such as dialing commands or sms commands) Doesn't do automatic scanning though, and that's a pain. A really nice bluejacker peice is mobiluck, it's actually geared more toward the exact social aspect of bluejacking that landed me my new friend. start mobiluck and leave it running in your pocket. The idea was that if you came within range of smoeone else running mobiluck you'd automatically exchange information. Didn't turn out that well because the author is very controlling and manually generates his keys and the process is a real pain in the ass.
btexplorer is another useful tool that can do snarfing but no bug or hellomoto, it's also not very intuitive, it's more of a semi consolar program.
Use these programs at your own risk. While bluejacking isn't technically illegal, bluesnarfing, bugging and hellomoto is. Not to mention that while bluejacking isn't illegal it can still get you an ass beatin' if your bluejack the wrong person and they see you sitting there in starbucks giggling.. So there is that risk as well.
I literally just bought my at&t tilt today, and when I bought it the guy I got it from suggested I come here to do some digging on modifying/personalizing my Tilt to my liking. Now, I'm somewhat of a computer nerd. I can work through most issues with my PC without having to call customer service or hit up forums or anything. I have no experience with pocket PCs or windows mobile however.
I've read the multiple notices here advising to read around first before asking dumb questions, but I have to say that I'm still completely lost and don't even know where to begin. I really don't have complicated intentions, I'm almost 100% satisfied with the phone as-is...regardless, I still just have no idea what to even start with, so I figured I would just throw that out there and hopefully get pointed in the right direction. Hopefully I'll be able to take it from there, but the tutorials, wikis, and FAQs that I was advised to browse through first (and I apologize if I'm just not seeing it, again I'm a WM noob) just aren't getting me there.
All I'm really interested in doing is changing my home screen. Other things I want to do I don't even know if it's possible to do so, or if I even have to download anything!
So maybe just one more shove in the right direction?
Try This
This is not going to change your rom......This will give a new look totally...I think you'll like it...Install it from your desk top
Peace
Mike

I agree here
pointUI
Wisbar advance (check out the skins for this app..)
If you know a bit of XML try RLtoday
oh, and search for "Ultimate launch" on the forum...
ummm check out the second link in my sig.
I'm in the same boat as you. There is so much information here, it's quite overwhelming. I want to get the most out of my device, but I just don't have he time to really get into it.
Well you have to start somewhere, so just say where you want to go.
Would you like to make the phone look different?
Would you like to add your own ringtones?
Themes?
gps stuff?
roms?
seriously look at the second link in my signature.
I suggest that you use it for a while to get used to it, then read, then try changing it. Just my 2 cents.
I'm guessing your question is more basic than the answeres provided. If you just want to change your today screen, check out the "Today" applet under "Settings" on the start menu. You can choose from a variety of default plugins, and some of them have options you can change (simply click the options button if it's enabled). As you install more apps, they may have Today Screen plugins as well.
DO NOT GO THROTTLE LAUNCHER.... i like the guy that developed it but it has become obsolete with manilla 2d, personally i stayed away from flashing for a long time but now that i have started i'm addictted it provides alot better preformance from your ppc, i would highly recommend it
my favorite rom right now is the garmin dk4 manilla just make sure you read up before, its not that complicated once you get the hang of it. biggest thing is make sure to flash hard spl before you flash anything else
Here's some advice from someone who has had pocket pc's for a long time. I am also half a century old, so this advice comes from experience and not theory.
Keep your Kaiser/TyTN II/Tilt, whatever it is, as stock standard as possible. Do not flash new roms etc etc. This is the cause of most problems here unless you are really clued up on this, which it seems you are not at the moment. I won't even try it.
There are many third party apps out there and in here which will not affect the normal functioning and enjoyment of your device. Most of them are freeware.
Today themes are dime a dozen, heck, you can create your own with freeware apps like ThemegenCE (Desktop app which creayes the Tsk file for your device theme and even TKCreator which is a theme creation app directly on your device I (Also freeware and more basic than the former).
You need Total Commander, a freeware File Explorer much better than than one shipped wth the device. Quickmenu 2.7 makes using the device a pleasure and hardly requires the stylus. This provides a task manager, drop down menus, controls for device utilities like bluetooth, wifi, soft resetting etc. You also need Mortplayer which is the best MP3 player and is freeware and of course TCPMP with flashvideo bundle for video clips/movies/flash video from websites etc. This all for free. Heck, here are even freeware GPS apps for navigation out there, eg Amaze GPS and Nav4All, or just go full hog and buy the best like TomTom. TodayAgenda is a Today Plugin for calendar appointments and is one of the best and totally free. S2U2 developed by A_C from XDA is a cool screen saver/slide to unlock app which is free and highly customisable with animated gifs as wallpaper etc.
This would be a good start for you.

MAC

I have been looking around XDA's Raphael and Diamond forums for threads on tracking and security software for the Fuze. So far I haven't found a lot of solid information. Here are the most popular anti-theft software I have found so far:
Remote Tracker - Searched the thread and haven't found anything on if it works for the Fuze.
Mobile Justice - No parent site, no support. No idea if it works.
Smartprotect - Not sure if it works on the fuze, saw a comment saying it doesn't.
Ultimate Theft Alert v35 - doesn't work with VGA from what I hear.
W.I.M.P. - I tried this and the SMS does not work
Sprite Terminator - I tried the demo too and the SMS also didn't work. And yes, I use GPS test.
Could someone confirm they have successfully used a tracking software on their Fuze? I understand it may not be possible to get the exact coordinates of the phone, but I think getting the coordinates within a hundred yards is good enough for me to get some sort of idea on who might have stolen it. There is also triangulation which is used by law enforcement, but I am not sure if normal people can actually use it to get their phone's location.
If there isn't a tracking device out there that's accurate enough, what would be the best software for securing a stolen Fuze, or even a non-GPS locating software that has been confirmed to work on the Fuze? I'd really like input from Raphael and Diamond users. Thanks
i don't have a fuze, but i have a sprint tp.. i put smartphonetracker on my friend's phone and it works everytime, but i use sprite terminator. it doesn't work with aim very well, but yahoo it does. i can query the phone with aim, but not get gps info, but i can do both on yahoo. i'm sorry i can't be of any more assistance.. maybe somebody with a gsm will chime in. i know that sprite definitely has sim card change notification, so it definitely is designed for gsm.

Hi,
Why dont you give SmartProtect a try using Emulated mode to see if it works or not ? From the log itself you will know if the software is working before you use it. On emulation mode, the software will not run the protection but will log everything (for example you can simulate a sim change and check the log or send SMS to your phone and see how the phone responded)
You can check the forum here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=464336
thanks!!
I installed Smartphone Tracker and followed the set-up instructions.
My problem is that I don't know how to actually use it to find my phone. I'm not an SMS person, so I have it set up to receive an email.
Can someone help? The developers instructions only talk about installation and set up.

Yea I can pretty much say that this works. I've tried it out with a 'partnerphone' and works like a charm. GPS Coordinates, Locking, Blackout Screen, making phone unusable. All kinds of good stuff. I have a Fuze btw and using EnergyRom.
Sprite terminator works with Fuze
No problem whatsoever.
Hello. I have been searching the internet, without any luck though of finding the programs i want.
First, i want a program, like ShopSavvy is for the Android, where i can use it on my touch pro to scan barcodes of products and find the best price.
Second, i am wondering if there is a way to have Google Street View on the touch pro. I have already seen KDKobes Google Maps Street View 2.3.1, from our forum. I was wondering though if there is an "official" or "fully working" program, as in KDJobes program unfortunately, location-data support and GPS integration aren’t working with this version of Google Maps.
Third, i want a program, like I-phone has, for Drinks (bartender?), same cool skins and graphics environment maybe?
Fourth, again like I-phone has a program where you record a song on the phone and then it goes through the internet and finds you possible matches.
Please, bare with me, as i a m new and maybe i didn't have enough luck or "easiness" finding these type of programs i want. Yes maybe i saw some "looking like them but weren't afterwards the programs i wanted, cause their functionality wasn't after all what i was searching for and was mislead by their Title Name.
So if you please know any "freeware/ or have to buy" programs that are exaclty as the one's i have described please feel free to post and tell me.
Thank you very much in advance,
Chris
let's see
1. barcode readers:
i-nigma barcode reader
QuickMark 3.3
Aura - but donno if this still works.....
2. Street view is officially supported by the latest Google Maps
http://www.google.com/mobile/default/maps.html
3. didn't heard of such a program for wm
4. i know a program it's called Music ID
hope that helps try to search harder next time
search diamond beer for a drink app that turns your phone into a glass of alcohol , if you mean a bartender then just do more searching also the site Fuzemobility.com is now your best friend go there all the time look at everything there . if you still haven changed ROMS on your phone i suggest you go get NRG's new winmo6.5 build 3.0 ROM . it has alot of improvements over the stock ROM , anymore questions just ask me
Is there an app that uses the GPS to track how much you've cycled and your speed etc? I think such apps exist for the iPhone but I'm looking for something for windows mobile.
gotta love fuzemobility lol

Just giving you a heads up don't go looking for everything that the Iphone has for your phone. Most of the time it will not be there. on to you questions
Shop savvy is a great program. Our closest thing is "Barcoroma"
Google street view. I use google maps from NRG'z Rom and I can get street view on it.
Drinks IDK your on you own for this one
Song recognition. Well try out Music ID works great for me.

Where does everyone go to get there the PPC software?
I go to http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php, although its not complete list and new releaase of an application can take a couple of days to make it to thier site. I find the site easy to navigate and search. The catagories and rating system help for filtering.
about the drink mix
i suggest watching this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=496880&highlight=drinks
perhaps something will be done.
Ok, so I have been around here a couple months silently eating up all the great info posted on this site. I have flashed my fair share of custom ROMs and have found one that I am comfortable with. So now I need to load up my TP with the best "goodies" I can find. Sure I can email, text, surf, dial...but I need MORE! Looking for cool apps that will help me get my moneys worth out of the device (and amaze my jealous friends). A couple fun ones that I have found include security apps, torch , sms bombers, shazam etc.. Any suggestions, .cabs and/or links for cool/fun apps would be greatly appreciated. Paid or freeware.
Sorry if this has been posted and I am sure there are individual threads for these apps but my patience is limited to 20 pages of forum digging and custom search phrases. I did find many "must have apps" threads but all seem to be for the android.
This would be good for me since I am a new Raphael user too.
Specifically if there is an alternative email client app that uses a different UI than the standard Outlook, meaning not ProfiMail or FlexMail
you can't go wrong with hdWobble, serach it
Warcraft 2 will make you the centre of attention.
Seriously look for it. It looks great and unlike many of the other 'impressive' ports, it is really fun and playable! I find fps games are a pain to conrol on this type of device.
Diamond hologram is really cool to. It uses the accelerometer to do a 3d effect on the screen.
Search these things up
The last couple of days I have been playing with PockeTwit. Cool little app. to play on Twitter.
Any emulator. especially the FPSECE playstation emulator, maybe mID, google maps?? WMwifirouter so they can use their ipod touchs to surf the web off your phone, youtube player,htorchflashlight...too many to name really.

Ah yes, I forgot to mention emulators like this one and PicoDrive works well for me to emulate Genesis ROMs. I played several games all the way through, ppl go nuts over Sonic, etc. So many great games on the system.
Many emulators I find work well enough to show off, but when it comes to quality of play they are limited. For example, without mapping of keyboard, using an "on screen" controller paddle, you are unable to simultaneously hit 2 "buttons" at once, due to the limitations of the resistive touch screen (no multi-touch). So for Mario turning mid-jump, forget it. To have the keyboard slid open while playing these emulators typically results in terrible performance, only a few ppl with a select combination of settings and ROM and d3d drivers managed to make it run reasonably with keyboard open.
im sorry mate but whoever told you that resistive screens dont support multitouch lied to you in the face.
there is multitouch out ther it just is in proper use by every one , take a look at fuzemobility and search there . there is an article on it along with a playstation controler completely mapped out to use multitouches ,no lie ! . the idea behind it is when you touch two places the place the exact same distance from both of them is registered, so with good placement and good mapping its possible :]
Slide to unlock has to be the best app for this phone hands Down..
I cant stand the basic winmoble unlock feature this one gives you the iphone slide to unlock so far works great for me..

Personally I like the netflix account one along with the getsportz. I have also played with WebTV and a few bartending apps. I would also like to mention RSSHub and BeejiveIM as nice apps... I dont use facebook but there are a lot of social netowkring apps to show off if you do use them.
As for showing off... I personally like TF3D2... with the people tab and the stock tab!!! Apple has nothing on us with those two tabs.
And if you liek games there a thread with a super and mega pack of games that you can get and it will install a ton fo games to play with.
SoBBie
Impressive doesnt always mean eye-candy....
Have them bring along their laptops and whip out WMWifiRouter.
People are always impressed when I whip out iGo with TTS enabled.
Skyfire with MS Silverlight 2 support is pretty friggin awesome considering it has (and is) taking linux programmers months to get going on their systems.
MS Voice command is another...tell your phone to play music by tracks and artists and have it read aloud text messages. Not availible on the iphone until just recently I believe.
Any capacitive programs (touchlockpro and how you can program a personal "touch" combination to unlock your phone also gscroll
Incallrecording...
Software that will text you with the SIM card information and exact (by GPS) location of your phone in the event it is stolen and another sim card is placed in it..
The list goes on and on...but the best thing I like is that it makes calls!! I say WOW everytime it rings!!!
