Quite a few times during the last week, my Diamond's touch screen has stopped responding for no apparent reason. The hardware buttons work just fine, but the screen gets me nowhere. It works fine after a soft reset, but I've had to soft reset it several times some days, which is seriously annoying.
Is this a familiar problem for anyone? If it is, does anyone know of a solution? I tried searching around the forum, but couldn't find anyone with a similar problem..

I have an AT&T Tilt...until Friday it worked great...It has WM6.1, HTC Home and spb Mobile Shell.... Friday I changed the screen protector from the same pack that I have used for months and then the problems started.... Randomly when I try to touch the screen it appears to lock up, but then the start menu will drop down. The soft buttons work, but then every once in a while the start menu will drop down again. I have soft reset to no avail, but then in an hour or so it will start working fine again. Anyone have any ideas, does it sound like a hardware or software problem? should I hard reset the phone and start over? Help
Thanks
Andy
pull off your screen protector.
chances are you have it touching on a side which causes pressure somewhere else and it (touchscreen) thinks its being touched in a different place.
which in turn makes you believe its locked up, since it does not have multi-touch touchscreen it will not respond because it is perceiving a touch somewhere else.
Thank You...Thank You... I believe that was the problem.....
I recently upgraded my kaiser with a cooked ROM (shifu 10) radio 3.34 i guess. It worked good. After some days it started giving problem with touch. The right soft key was working continuously without even pressing it. When this happens the power button also stops responding , so i have to pull out the battery to turn of the phone. Then i loaded it with original HTC ROM WM 6.1 radio 3.28/3.29. it worked fine for some hours then the problem re appeared. then after some hours the lcd stopped responding to touch , it responds sometimes.. The keyboard worked fine. Then i went to HTC customer care center. They said LCD needs to be replaced. After getting the LCD replaced the problem persisted. what could be the problem???? Please help...
Have you tried...
Have you tried realigning the screen found in setting/ screen/ align screen?
I had an issue similiar at one time, my stylus really wasnt working well at all i was having to push hard with my fat fingers for touch to work. realigning solved my problem. Worth a try.
When i re installed ROM, i couldn't align the screen properly as it was not responding to touch. I'm sure it's not screen alignment problem. Why didn't touch work properly even after LCD REPLACEMENT?
Check this out. I believe this is your problem.

Ive had my XPERIA for about a year now and the screen calibration has seemed to break on it. The problem is that when taping the screen, it will either click where its supposed to or no where near ive pressed. The calibration seems to be right after soft resetting but minutes later it is usually completley wrong. Ive tryed many different ROMs but I have the problem with all of them, does anyone know what the problem could be?
Thanks Glennlh
Hi all!
Yesterday, my X1 started behaving weirdly for no apparent reason. It simply stopped responding when I slid out the hardware-keyboard (i.e the screen didn`t "flip").
Secondly, when I write with the hardware-keyboard there doesn`t seem to be any response until I slide the keyboard back in, and everything I wrote appears on the screen. It started happening spontaniously, and did several hard-resets and ROM flashes to no avail.
Anyone else experienced this?
Thanks in advance.
Yup, I did
It is a hardware problem (flex cable)

Hi guys,
So I had to replace my broken screen.
I replaced and everything was working fine until one day, after 1 month, I start getting some ghost touchs in my screen.
There are some spots that triggers the touch at random times and keep pressed.
I've attached a screenshot showing one touch, that of course it is not mine, but keeps pressed for some reason.
If I press that region very hard sometimes the ghost touch disappear which leads to conclude that something is wrong with the screen that I bought, BUT if I reboot the phone it also fixes it, and that is what bothers me the most, I think it is not a physical problem but a software thing.
Can anyone help me break down this problem?
solution?
Do you had any solution for that?
Was it a hardware or software problem?
Best regards,
