O2 XDA Mini S - What is the best ROM for Push email

Hi All,
I have been reading the posts on this forum for the last 5 days and just need some advice.
Just got the Mini S and woudl like to know what ROM to upgrade to, various posts mention the QTEK or the IMATE and to be honest I am a little confused.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I need to use the lokiwiz program to unlock the SIM and CID before I attempt the upgrade ?
Thanks
Dan
You would also need to remap the keyboard as the O2 version has a different keysheet. The O2 build with push will be available within the next week or so.

I'm in a similar boat to the OP. Been watching the forums for a couple of weeks and am finally in a position to upgrade the ROM - still not sure to go QTEC or iMate....and now Lord Buckingham throws O2 back in the mix!!
@ Lord Buckingham - can you qualify where you have heard the news about the O2 ROM as all I have seen is pure speculation so far on these forums?
If any other Mini S owners can comment on the QTEC/iMate ROM argument that would also be a great help!
thanks.
I've just installed the Qtek 2.17 Rom on my mini, but now i'm having activesync problems. Not sure it's related, although I am tempted to try the Kjam 2.16 rom to see if it's any better. Will let you know when i've installed it...
Ady
I've been using the iMate 2.16.9.1 rom since it came out in feb, and it works fine for me. Dtharby, To answer your question you do need to use lokiwiz to unlock the SIM and CID before upgrading
After hacking around on my Laptop, I've resolved the activesync issue I was having, without going back to 2.16. So 2.17 seems stable, fast and bug free so far...
thanks guys. It's reassuring to hear there's some Mini S users in the UK that have has success with the new ROMs.
I think I'll try flashing tonight....maybe going to go for QTEC (just cause it came out later!!)
One last thing - is it actually possible to roll back to the shipping O2 ROM from these new 2.x ROMs?
cheers!

Help with upgrade please

Hello All,
I'm new to this Forum, but have been reading intently for a while now.
I have a O2 XDA 2s (Blue angel)
Rom Version-1.40.00 WWE
Radio-1.12.00
ExROM-1.40.242 WWE
I have tried to update the ROM with Helmi_BA_WM2k5_AKU3.5_v1.4.CF2
I have the latest version of active sync (4.5) but when upgrading ,the upgrade screen does not show the existing ROM details and produces error 101.I
I have done a soft and even a hard reset, but no change...
If I am eventually sucessfull in upgrading the ROM to WM5, what are the main benifits and will the unit be stable with all functions?
Thanks for your help

wiki
why dont u take somtime and read wiki, I guess it will solve ur prob
Thanks for getting back so quickly, I have read the frequantly asked questions and I realise the questions I'm asking will be basic for a seasoned hack. However if I use the O2 ROM update .exe I can see ROM details ect , but using the MaUpgrade-noid there is no ROM details?
I have tried using Bootload with no change...
Thanks again for your help

Swedish unlocked htc 3600 pro upgrade confusion, help appreciated

Hi, I´m new in this forum and would like to start off with a big thanks to all the developers and home-cookers on this forum for their great job doing what they do
I recently bought a new unlocked HTC p3600 (pro) which apperently came from
the swedish provider 3. This package also included TomTom 6 but is yet not installed on the trinity.
Of course i would like to update my trinity to wm6 or a stable wm6.1 and after reading in alot of forums and different guides I think I´ve got a good handle on how it will go down, so I´m pretty confident how to update my machine
First of all I´d like to post the speccs of the htc 3600:
I bootloader mode it says:
(Red stripe) TRIN 100
IPL -0.50
SPL -1.07.0000
(Green
and blue Clear
strip)
(White stripe) SERIAL (becomes USB when connected to PC)
----------------------------------------------------------------
In deviceinfo the speccs are as follows:
ROM version: 1.23.413.2
ROM date : 03/13/07
Radioversion: 1.16.00.00
Protokoll version: 32.53.7018.01H
ExtRom version: 1.23.413.9700
------------------------------------------
The Rom version appears to be same htc-europe has on their site
since the file there says: driver date 2008-09-17
Windows Mobile 5_ROM Upgrade_Swedish (1.23.413.2)
And the tomtom6 (driver date 2008-09-09) is also available for download there so no need to upgrade that I think?
As far as I understand from this forum, trinityguides.info, Ruslan Trifonov's blog, http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/717790 and of course the upgrade guide for vista users here:
http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/htc-trinity/12987-solved-problem-upgrading-trinity-vista.html
I need to flash the original spl to a hard spl either using
olipros 1.20, 1.30 or des´s crash proof spl
with RUU and so on. Same goes for the Radio and the wm6 ROM I would like to use
My questions now are these.
1. what hard spl will be most suited for this proceedure? (since the phone is unlocked, i can put alot of different sim-cards in it like Tele2, Telia, 3 and so on) BUT.. I´m not sure if the phone still has CID lock and I´m too stupid to properly use mtty.exe
2. What Radio version is most compatible with the hard spl and the wm6 or wm6.1 ROM´s ?
3. What ROM of wm6 or wm 6.1 should I use ?...preferably a swedish one if there is but also a good stable english one will do :I know there are alot of them but some swedish users may have an answer..
Since the most guides and forum posts are from 2007 I really want to make sure I got this all right. I also plan to write a good guide in english/swedish/german if everything goes ok. So all help would be mucho macho appreciated.
You can also PM me if you like and I´ll be happy to give you more info on how it all goes..
Many thanks
cheers
