On my HTC 1.93 (GER) - flashed MDA Compact IV, the FM Radio is not working anymore.
Trying to solve this problem, I reinstalled the FM-Radio-Cab from this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427040
Now I can start the FM-Radio again and getting the interface, but still no stations. When scanning the spectrum I don't even hear weird sounds like normaly...
Any ideas?
Thanks

Maybe your headset (which is also your antenna) could be broken....maybe it's not your software on your Diamond......I could also suggest a hard reset, but just do that the last method...
Good luck
Thanks for your reply,
Headset seems to work fine. I will test another one if I find one. Hardreset... I think I would prefer to life without fm radio...

Hahaha fair point
I'd rather wait as well before hard reset, but it's quite strange..... how could that happen? at some moment your radio didn't work??? hhmzzz..maybe it has nothing to do about it, but before the problem occured, did you had another ROM or RADIO installed on your device? i'm trying to figure out what happened.....
please let me know...
Cheers Jeroen
Hi Jeroen,
I noticed the fm radio issue after the new Rom but I am not quite sure. Before I was running the MDA Compact IV with the branded T-Mobile Rom. That was 1.37 and an older radio version.
The version of the fm radio should be the same (1.6).
After buying a new headset adapter - what I wanted to do anyway - I will know more.
Thanks,
Falco08

Allright Falco! keep me posted ok?
Can you tell me which ROM version you're using?? I suggest using any ROM v1.93 because 1.37 is a little outdated
Currently i'm using AZTOR V7.0 NLD Which is stable and good....I suppose there should be one in GER as well.....
Good luck mate!
Jeroen
Hi Jeroen,
Maybe I wrote a bit confusing... but I am using HTC ROM v1.93 GER - as I tried to point out at the beginning of this thread;-)
I will keep you up-to-date.

Solved
FM-radio now is working again.
It took a long time untill I got my new cable. --> same issue
I flashed with new ROM 2.03. --> still not working
After deleting some entrys in HKLM/Software/htc/fmradio and rebooting fm-radio now is working.
Don't know why. But I am not going to complain ;-))

I´m having the same problem - that is, I get static but no stations.
Wich entrys did you delete?
Edit:
Nevermind. It was with a Trinity-headset it didn´t have reception. Changing to the supplied Diamond-headset solved the problem!

maybe you should try posting in the ROM section....
call clarity is usually to do with the Radio rather than the ROM. Do some research.
thanks for your advice, its my first PDA WM phone - which radio do you reccomend, ithink i'm using the radion which comes with the HK 1.93 ROM
Thanks

05 is very good for UK users. 07 is also good, great recption but lower battery life. 05 has good reception in comparison to 07 and longer battery life....
Still no joy
Guys i have tried many HK 1.93 rom, duttys 1.8, E Euro 1.93, Vodafone UK 1.93.
and still the call qulity is by far the worst from a mobile phone i have ever come across.
Everything else works great.
one thing Yahoo! mail .co.uk keeps loging me out, and asks for password and user name, i enter the correct detils still wont work - however it does work at times. this is with all roms listed above. any one have a answer to why this happens.
and just one last thing, is there a limit on how many times this device can be flashed as i think i may have flashed it about 10 times in 3days of owing it.
tank in advance guys
EDIT:
I seem to have fixed the call / audio qulity - by using SRSWOW HD, no its much better than before, people can hear and understand me now.
help!!
chand4u76.......can u help me to flash a htc touch diamond p3700 gsm fone from sweden......i just wanna change the swedish language to english......i,ve tried everything but getting errors......please can u help??
Please read patiently ... I have spent many hours reading on the forum and flashing many ROM's:
I have T-Mobile MDA Compact IV, originally purchased in Czech Republic, with stock ROM version 1.37.110.3 CSE. Everything "worked fine" except for the huge memory and batery consumption
Here is what I did:
1. Installed OliNex Unsigned HardSPL version 1.40
2. Upgraded to latest SwiftBlade ROM - very nice, but I started to have problems with audio soon - after switching few of the ring/notification wav and mp3, the audio got stuck - either silent or buzzin with a high-pich tone. The same could happen when I muted ringing phone by turning phone face down. Only soft reset helped.
3. Upgraded to latest Duttys ROM - very nice as well, but had same problems with the audio.
4. Upgraded to latest panosha Shine On 1.7 - same problems again (but now I understand why there is no point in comparing ROM's, each has its own value)
5. Played with the official HTC 1.93 ROM (changed the device ID as MDA compact has DIAM200), installed it successfully, but had same problems with sound again.
6. Now here is the tricky part; as a last resort (the phone was of no use once the sound was dead ) I have returned to original T-Mobile ROM. I have downloaded and installed UK version, which is based on ROM 1.37.110.3 WWE and only updated the radio to 1.00.25.05 for better power management.
I do not have sound problems any more. However, it is hard to believe that any HTC 1.93 based ROM (original or cooked) is not compatible with MDA Compact IV. Also, I have found many people on the forum, with MDA using cooked ROMs and not reporting any problem with sound.
I apologize for the long post, but can you please (escpecially the chefs) look at the issue? There are several posts of people reporting sound problems but there was no response to it yet.
I will really appreciate your help. I want to use HTCBlack skin and any of those cooked ROM's!
EDIT - UPDATE
I have originally believed that the problem was resolved. Unfortunatelly until the first call. The phone rings once, sometimes twice, and then the sound goes out!
I have tried all possible versions of SPL and ROM (HTC Original, Diamond Project, SwiftBlade, panosha, Dutty, and more) - most of the day today - but the result is still the same.
The only possiblity to return sound is to reboot - but only until next call. You can ask my friends, they are getting crazy.
When I flash back the TMUK stock original ROM, problem does not appear, even when I upgrade the radio to 1.00.25.05. No problem at all.
Please help
I have a MDA Compact IV (from the UK) and i'm currently using Panosha Shine On 1.7 and i have no sound issues, though this is the only other ROM i have tried apart from the official!
Sometimes its the SPL which creates issues. try Different Hard SPL,s i found best to be jockys 2.4 however this only shows you have 128MB ram. otherwise very good spl.
+1
thanks,
I have exactly the same problem and it's very hard to believe that SPL can be a source. I'll try other SPL's and report here the result.
thank you

Surprise, but thanks for the tip. I have changed HardSPL to JockyW 1.24 and updated to SwiftBLASW ROM 6.0 and did not see any problem with audio for at least 2 hours . I consider this issue solved. Thanks again!
Many thanks to tigger80!
working great!
... by any chance have these findings been substantiated by more people? - and if so, do Olipro and Cmonex (the people who released OliPro HardSPL v1.40) know about this problem?
Just a thought.
The problem is not resolved yet
I have updated the original post. I still have a problem and can discribe it better. I have also contacted directly OliPro with request for help.

Anyone getting an echo when you talk on the phone. Almost like being under water?? Or do I need to visit a doctor

you might try another radio.
I'm getting the same problem. I'm using NATF's latest ATT rom and the Neon 1.58.25.17

Same here, Except that the radio is 1.65.17.56. Now here's what I did. Since the NATF's ROMS dont come with any Radio, I installed the ROM first, planning to install the Radio later. However I already had the 1.65.17.56 Radio before the ROM install, and the install seems to have kept that. So, being quite a lazy person, I did not install the Radio. Would that be the problem?
JKO
Yes that would be a good place to start.
Fixed
Reinstalling the same Radio using just the Radio installer fixed it
I wnt back to the Att rom wm6.1 and got the echo, I am actually starting to like it. I know it sounds weird, but I can hear that they hear me that way. I live in an area with low reception so it works good for me..
It was in some prototypes X1 which had rom from 1st august 2008. If anyone have radio 1.04 please dump it you know how, if not please let me know in this theard so I will try to point you how to do that.

I got this radio and my phone is not a prototype.
If i learn how to dump. I will dump.
I've only seen instructions for dumping the radio from a really old wings, so can't help out..
but Cmonex said this of note..
extra Xperia-specific notes: the prerelease roms out there in the X1 ROMs thread are not going to flash on retail devices because the radios they include are only flashable on prerelease devices
people have got the xperia radio working on raphael I wonder about reversing the situation..
xmoo
do you have the shipped ROM from you device? Or maybe from your mobile carrier?
xmoo
This is instruction from cmonex:
download qmat from revskills.de
put the x1 in bootloader, disable usb in activesync, connect x1 to pc, run qmat
(it1s a trial version btw)
got it
then hw forensics / usb comms / now select HTC AT tab
then use the start usb option in this tab
now there is a small box.. and a big box below it
use the small box for typing
im not sure is it complete.

Have you tested gps after update?

that mean only 9 person still have a problem with this problem.. the radio of 1.58.21.23. and 1.27.35.28 still have a problem.. maybe someone can create a radio optional if their cannot use the 1.58.21.23. and 1.27.35.28. comodon if you using that radio of 1.58.21.23. you cannot make shift become a phone right?
Radio 1.27 is a modified radio by cmonex to adapt to the phone roms. WIthout it, you would have a big buzzing sound in the speaker at each boot.
1.58 is normaly a dump from the stock radio on european shifts. It can phone too, but without sound, it's quite useless.
Cmonex is provider for both radio. I only touch roms, not radio. This is her who can help you there.
yes that's correct thaihugo, thanks for the explanation,I think that cmonex can create a new radio rom for us or someone that have a original radio for htc shift for asian version rom or original radio please upload here.so that can fully ultilized the internet broadband
