My original broke a few months ago and I searched online. Found a 5-pack. Sorry, I don't know where I bought them, but at least you know they are out there.
thanks
i have search and search and still but thanks
I lost one and broke one the other day. I called up support in my country (Taiwan) and they carry just hooks in the office for maybe 6 - 7 bucks USD so i would try contacting support.
I think it is a bad design cuz they are easy to lose and its getting a bit loose.
One of many suppliers I found in 5 seconds, searching for "bt8010 earhook":

I've noticed this, too. The socket for the hook is now larger than it used to be so even new hooks are a little loose.
thanks for the
thanks for the lick i think the design of the loop sucks but the ear piece is great i can hear music and do my calls and not be worried of getting wires tangled like the wired ones.the odd think some people ask me if it is 2 bluetooth??. any ways for now i dont see like changing them for something else thanks
first time it broke for me about 2 years ago, I wasnt able to find it anywhere, so I wrote request to jabra customer service and got a pair for free in the mail.
now it's available for better price than from other sellers http://www.shop.jabra.com/jabra/Shop?Dsp=30007&PCR=1:401
So I recently broke my mini usb port when trying to fix the pins so it would work with my car charger. The first time I did this it worked flawlessly, but when I did it again the 5th pin broke. I know you can buy a replacement piece for like $5, but how hard is it to fix yourself? I talked to my dad who used to be an electrical engineer and he said you need a special soldering gun to install it. Is this true? If so, would it be like around $100 to have someone do? Also, does anyone know if a computer repair store could fix it? I have had my phone for about a year so I believe the warranty is gone since I didn't get an extended one. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Problem fixed
I had this same problem with my at&t tilt, broken usb port. I search the web and found a company called pocketpctechs.com. Order the sync connector repair service which is around $80. i sent them my phone and they fixed my problem hopefully this is helpful.
80 bucks? ow ._.
this happened to me a while back. Found ppctech and place my order as well. just went down there and dropped my phone off since it was close by. Picked it up the same day. Price is kind of steep, but couldnt find anything else. Tech who fixed it asked me if I like the modded rom I had on it and he was thinking of puting it on there too. lol
Thanks. I would prefer to take it to a shop because I can't be without a phone for a couple days. Could a computer repair shop do this kind of work if I bring in the part? I got one of those local.
why dont you ask that shop if they will be able to do it?
Ok.... I have had my Tilt for a year & 1/2... My (then) 14 y/o son became very envious of my phone... We are not a "rich" family and my son saved up for months and finally could afford the phone last year... He bought it 100% on his own, as well as pays his own prepaid AT&T Go minuites for it....
About 6 months after he got it, we got the typical USB problems... We worked around them by syncing via Bluetooth, and buyign spare batteries as well as a stand alone battery charger.. Everything worked great until this week... Tuesday night, it said the Sim was not there... I tried the placing tape on the back of it, and that didn;t seem to help... tried a few other things I read, nothing seemed to help except when we first booted up the phone with it the keyboard slid out... As long as we didnt; close it, it would work (Atleast for TXTing)... But even that was sketchy at best... since then that stopped working completley, and as of lastnight the touchscreen died... Any suggestions at all? Please don't tell me to go search for answers on google... I have already looked.. If there is no hope, please send cash offers if you are intersted in buying it... Thanks in advance for your help....

You can try to tighten all the screws around the sim card slot and make sure that nothing is obstructing the door from locking tight.
Try a hard reset to reset all the software. I would say to try to re-install the rom, but you say the usb port is bad. Other than that, it is warrantied for a year, call the store or HTC and see if there is anything that they can do for you.
I will try that... but I am thinking maybe it is the ribbion that connects the screen to the motherboard seeing as everything on that part id the problem (touch screen, sim card, screen flickering now).. it is defintley out of warranty as well

I changed the screen of my UK i9000. After putting everything back together, i noticed i had no signal, only a Blue Circle with a cross through it... Antenna problem i quessed... Somehow i managed to snap of the pigtail connector from the motherboard..
Stupid i know, and trust me am kicking myself. Does anyone have any idea as to where i go from here? Any help would be greatly appreciated..
Pics are included.
well if you have a gentle steady hand perhaps you could solder it back on..
if your not brave enough i'd take it to a repair shop.. seems like an easy fix to a professional.
Thanks, But the smc connection is lost, do you/anyone know the part number for it? and also the white lead.
I will try to solder the connection again, but i think i have ripped up the solder from the board and might need to cut into the traces, which i really dont want to have to do...
Iamodo (I think that's how it's spelt) has a repair shop in blackpool, he seems pretty clued up - I'd try there first. He's posted regarding white sgs recently if you want to do a search and send him a pm. He's always very helpful.
