GSen issues - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I have a brand new Diamond running the factory HTC 1.93.422.4 ROM. I installed GSen 1.7, but I'm having serious issues with getting GSen to work. I have the default configuration file , and I am unable to text in landscape mode, or even use Opera in landscape (somtimes it works, sometimes it doesn't). Can anyone offer me assistance? Thanks

Microsoft reader issue on new HTC stock 6.1 ROM

I have problems with MS reader in landscape mode on the new stock 6.1 rom. It used to work under the nothrills 6.1 rom, but under this rom the text is all gone from the menu's. I have enabled cleartype in portrait mode, not in landscape mode.
Ideas anyone?

I have had this same issue, with Reader, on all of L26 and now Death v4.1 ROMs. If I do put it into landscape mode, the text of the program is all jumbled together and unreadable.
However, I can read the book itself, albeit without the page numbers at the bottom of the page in landscape.
This happen whether MS Reader is activated or not, and regardless of whether clear type in enabled or not.
Thanks for any thoughts or pointers.
Resets backlight as well
Oddly enough, once I have installed MS Reader, again, on both L26 ROMs and Death ROMs, it changes something in the registry. When I set the backlight for 1 minute when on battery power, after I install MS Reader, that is changed to 10 seconds. If I change it back to 1 min, it resets to 10 seconds after every soft reset.
Hmmmm. Thoughts?
An unbelievable WM 6.1 issue....
Yeah, it's another bug in the official release.
I've tried it for at least a week, then got back to 6.0.
It is the CLEARTYPE in LANDSCAPE mode, it doesn't work at all.
All characters are squeezed, and with Microsoft Reader the CLEARTYPE feature cannot be disabled.
Maybe no one at Microsoft has never tested such incredible mix of features?

Landscape Problem

So I recently flashed my ROM and everything is working just fine except I'm having one problem.
I don't know but when I'm in Landscape mode, a lot of my text turn invisible or the same color as the white background, so I can't read anything I'm typing in IE, Contacts Search, and some tabs don't show any text. I tried searching and couldn't find a fix, I was hoping White Screen was the same problem I had, but it seems do be different, if I can get a little bit of help it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Did you flashed any other ROM made available here?
I flashed it through I believe Kaiser Diamond V2, I'm just going to it over again, then I'll leave an update.
I think I saw something about that ROM (or perhaps it was the first version?) that had that kind of problem...
Leo's V3 seems to be much better...
I'm downloading that right now...
Ahh I see, I didn't notice there was a V3, and it clearly says it fixed the text missing in landscape. Thanks for the help, the Wiki didn't have that version!
I got a similar problem with the official 6.1 update. The cause was cleartype activated in landscape mode. Once it's deactivated, it works well. But if you know a tip to have cleartype AND the text correctly displayed, it'll be great
Bump: I would also love to see this working again.
I have the Official HTC WM6.1 for Australian TyTN II's and if Cleartype is enabled in Landscape much of the text is not displayed (especially on menus).
Any Ideas?

Popup menus blank

Hi
Since installing WM 6.1 from the Orange website on my Kaiser, all the popup menus display blank captions/text when the keyboard is slid out. Has anyone else encountered this issue? The menus work fine when using the Kaiser in "portrait" mode.
TIA

this is a problem with Windows Mobile 6.1 and cleartype in landscape. the only workaround: disable cleartype or flash back to 6.0
Thanks, that's done the trick
is there any other solution to do the trick..? i want to use cleartype..
htc tweak
hi,
50% solution:
you can use cleartype in portrait-mode when enabling via genereal setting.
BUT you have to disable it (via htctweak) in landscape mode, than you see all the menu-fonts.
-> htc tweaks (you find somewhere here)
cheers

Landscape Keyboard Issues!!!

1st post...so here it goes...
Having this really annoying issue with the keyboard in landscape mode. I can't see what I'm typing in landscape mode!!! This happens only in a few programs such as Messenger, Notes etc. The keyboard is in ABC mode and T9 is turned off. I'm not having any key mapping issues. Everything types correctly, but I can't see what I'm typing till I either press enter (in messenger) or close the keyboard and go to portrait mode (in notes).
I had this problem on the stock rom after I had installed several programs...couldn't find a solution so flashed a new stock rom....things were great, everything was as expected and now the problem has appeared again, after installing several programs and tweaking the phone to my needs!!! The phone is just the way I want so I can't just go and flash the rom again, so I'm hoping someone knows of a solution to fix this really annoying problem.
I tried searching on google and here for a solution, but nothing. I tried installing some keyboard fixes floating around here, but nothing. It maybe a simple registry fix or some WM6 issue with some program, I don't know. The keyboard works fine in MS Office and when txting.
It's really bizarre and annoying. Hope someone can help!
Thanks.
hi,
try to disable the cleartype feature while in landscape.
there is an option somewhere that can do that for you.
cleartype is turned off by default in landscape, so this is caused by some change you made.

New To The Diamond

hey guys im new to Windows Mobile in general but specifically the Touch Diamond i've updated the bootloader and firmware to a custom one allready.. i need some help..
im after a speedy firmware which doesn't loose the asthetic look of the touch diamond im also after some sort of mod which allows me to use the horizontal full qwerty keyboard for sms can anyone help me out here or even tell me if these are possible? cheers
You can use GSen or Gyrator to rotate the screen in all apps rather than just album and Opera and then you can use the horizontal keyboard for messaging. Just search for them. Can't help you with firmware recommendations, I'm using the standard one.
hey mate i have gsen but it doesn't seem to work in the sms app... only in the original wm6 menu's
That's odd, I just ran GSen and checked, it works for me in the messaging app. It's definitely running? There should be a single white pixel in the system tray up the top. Try opening GSen CFG and then using edit > restore to default. If that doesn't work you might want to try posting in the GSen thread, I'm sure there'd be one somewhere.
hey guys just installed gyrator and it fixed it up, now i just need some advice on the rom i find it shocking just running touch flo takes over half the systems memory
Try Shaks ROM, it retains the standard TF3D looks with useful added apps and is as stable as any ROM is gonna get.
