[UTIL] FieldTest app for Raphael - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

Anyone know if there is one in the original Raphael?
Or custom made one?

It's in your windows directory.
Just make sure that system files are not hidden in file explorer or Total Commander.
(uncheck hide ROM files in TC )

Field Test application can still be accessed by going into the phone dialer and typing in this........ *#*#364#*#*
*NOTE* This usually only works if it is built into the ROM. AT&T ROM's will have this built in, so if you have not flashed your ROM to something other than AT&T then it WILL work.

suh-weet. Thanks KDkobes. Can you steer a newby to some translation, what to look for in a field test, so I can compare radio ROMs and decide on the best 1 for my area?

Official i-mate ROM release (1.40.176 & 1.12.00)

It's too good to believe:
ftp://ftp.clubimate.com/PDA2k_WWE_14000_176_11200.exe
I'm downloading now.
Tom
39.6MB (their server is really slow today)
From i-mate site:
The details of the new ROM image are:
For the Worldwide English Build:
ROM version: 1.40.00 WWE
ROM date: 03/10/05
Radio version: 1.12.00
Protocol version 1337.42
ExtROM version: 1.40.176 WWE
I think they waited until the pros on this site figured everything out first...then they just piggy-backed on their findings. Kudos to the real pros on XDA-devel!!!

How to install this rom in Spanish Qtek 9090, i'm new and y don't now very well to change the language.
Thank you!
imate update
I just got the update from the I-mate site and am working it with the XDA tools but I'm getting a checksum errors on the radio, NK, and MS filles. Should I be using a different tool? My device is a MDA III T-mobile german flashed to english. Any Ideas???
Downloaded, installed and running. No problems....yet. I can't find a config file in the extrom in order to make some changes, but there's a setup.exe file now. Not sure what that's about.
No idea how to change the language...I'm not good enough to know that.
More later.
Tom
So far so good. A couple issues. 1) the phone off (or flight mode on) is no longer activated by the Call End button. Shame...I loved that feature. 2) I have a problem turning the phone on (flight mode off) after a soft reset. I think it may be caused by the Contacts Button addin. The only way I can turn on the phone is to go into the keypad and then turn it on. All other methods cause the system to lockup.
Tom
Temporary copy...
Until someone puts it up on xda-developers / cooks it,
a MUCH faster loading copy is at
http://www.myehud.com/BlueAngel/PDA2k_WWE_14000_176_11200.exe

Great!!!!!
I'm downloading it right now!!
i-mate finally released it after 1000's of unkept promises!
FINALLY!!! Here's to hoping it will be better than the Qtek version!
Again, I would like to ask why there is no config file??? I take it setup.exe has the config file built in? If any of the pros can give me some feedback as to this, I would appreciate it. I'd like to drop in several cab files incase I fubar something down the road.
Thanks,
Tom
P.S. almost 6 hours and only the "turning on the phone" problem.
yes... config is missing...
will try out some combinations .
skype is taking 3.8 megs... i don't need it there.

Ture...true. Skype was fun the first couple times, but with VOIP at home, I really don't need it anymore. Still, kind of cool to show people...if you have someone that you can connect to.
Tom
Tried some combos, including, using the old config and setup files... nothing wrorks,
only thing is that any additional file found in ext rom is treated as a carrier customization file, and on selecting one file , that particular file will be installed..
also, i noticed that there is one config file in the windows directory.
Just take the Autorun.exe and config.txt from another rom, add in the cabs from the i-mate rom, and there you go.
Yeah, I will be removing Skype ASAP myself. I can understand how it could be useful, but for my purposes, it just takes up space.
The Setup.exe is way better then the config
Leave the setup the exe it is better then the config. with the config you have to site the and write a line for each cab file. the setup.exe automatically runs every cab file in the ext rom. whether you put it there or not. So when cookinh your extended rom no need to keep having to change the config.txt. The setup will run whatevers there.
You can find this new ROM at ftp upload folder hope MDAIIIUser can move to wiki , I will upload ext.ROM by tomorrow

Do I need to keep autorun.exe ? If yes, then which one old or new?
sunish, I can not imagine why it would not work. You must have made a mistake somewhere.
The WMP10 close problem still exists, which leads me to conclude that it is indeed a problem with the 1.40 CE Rom, and not something within the Extended rom muddling it up.
Has anyone seem any actual improvements with this rom over Qtek's? All of the same problems still to be in place. The extended rom has a few different (but unimportant) cabs, but that's about it.
MarcValme, I'm not so sure I agree. One of the good things about the config.txt file is that you can specify the order in which the cabs install, which does actually make a difference in a few circumstances. Food for thought.
TheLastOne,
Don't know / Can't figure out where is the problem.
No combination is working for me.
Maybe will try it again after a day or so.
Right now, after unhiding the Ext ROM, I'm installing all the programs needed by me manually.
One thing that I noticed is the increase in speed... The performance is somewhat better now...

Need advice on cooking an extended rom based on Xelencin's T-Mobile 2.26 ROM

I really like Xelencin's 2.26 ROM. However, I don't like the T-Mobile_Network_Customizations.cab file. As it is not removable, and more importantly, won't let me set Wi-Fi as my default internet connection. I tried everything and finally concluded that the culprit is that cab file. So I decided to cook up an extended rom with only the files I want. Basically, here are the four Xelencin extended rom cab files that I would like to keep, as they seem essential:
Certification_Disable.cab - Disables certification requirement for CAB installers.
Smart_Dialing_Enable.cab - Enables Smart Dialing.
Missing_Shortcuts.cab - Adds MMS Inbox, Voice Tag control panel, Voice Dialing startup shortcut, ClearVue PDF shortcut, Voice Speed Dial shortcut.
Intent_MIDlet_manager.cab
Intent_MIDlet_manager.cab - Adds the missing Java MIDlet manager to the device.
According to Mr. PrestonMcafee's thread, MP_SmartDialing_enable_0915_signed.cab is the newer updated version of Xelencin's Smart_Dialing_Enable.cab. Can anyone confirm this? Also, it was stated that MP-Shorcut-MMS1-Voice-CV-TMUS-060404.cab is the newer version of Xelencin's Missing_Shortcuts.cab. However, it seems like there is a difference as Xelencin's Missing_Shortcuts.cab file is 96KB in size while the MP-Shorcut-MMS1-Voice-CV-TMUS-060404.cab file is only 72KB. It seems like Xelencin has added something else to his cab. Just confused about that.
I also plan on adding the following files in addition to the ones above, to the extended rom:
- TMOUS_Camera_Profile_reg_0414_signed.cab - Fix for the Camera
- PP_GPRSandEGDE_DTMF.cab - Fix for DTMF tone dialing problem?, sets EnableDTMFSupport and different edge, GPRS icons
- P_Edge_Icon.sa.cab - Replaces Antenna icon with G or E
- Enable_NTIZ_.cab - Network time enable
- MP_CVSDcpl_20060220.cab - voicetagcpl.cpl
- Molski.Biz_Performance Registry_Tweaks.cab
- Molski.Biz_Customizing_Tweaks.cab
Are there any newer versions of these files? And are any of these redundant with the 4 Xelencin cab files? Sorry for all the questions. Just anxious to cook up this extended rom. Thanks!
2.26
I think in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=273019
Xelencin provides a new ROM based on the updated versions. That of course doesn't solve your problem, but it provides a second check on what I did.
I would recommend, before you cook a ROM, to install the stock T-Mobile 2.26 ROM but prevent the installation of the extended ROM, install and use Total Commander to copy the extended ROM files to the SD card, run the ones you want and try living with it for a while, to insure you have what you need. I recently rebuilt mine without the MMS shortcut cab because I don't use MMS myself. This is very easy; if at some point you settle on a preferred configuration, then you can cook a ROM, but I figure, why bother? I copy the files I want to my SD card once and even if I do a hard reset and rebuild the system, I maintain copies of these files to install again.
Thanks for the reply Preston. What you're saying about manually installing the cabs I want from my SD card definitely makes a lot of sense. But part of me wants to try to create an Extended Rom, as a personal learning challenge to myself. Basically, to see if I can do it. It seems fairly easily, particulary in comparison to making a full fledged modified ROM. Faria's Tutorial on Cooking an Extended ROM, seems like a great guide.
Do you happen to know where I can find the official U.S. T-Mobile 2.26 Extended ROM? I couldn't find it through searching, and would prefer not to have to install the official T-Mobile rom, just to get the contents of the extended rom.
Here it is
http://www.t-mobileapps.com/downloadcenter/software_detail.cfm?id=80
I believe this is the entire ROM. I was just looking for the extended_rom download.

WM5 Comm Manager

Hey whats up guys, just a curious question I have regarding the comm manager in WM5. When using stock version of WM5 2.26 from T-Mobile on my MDA and using a program called Navizon with my GPS, I am able to calcualte a lot of Wi-Fi Access points and Cell Phone towers using the Comm Manager supplied with the stock. I am talking about, on my regular commute about 400-600 AP's and varied on towers. I have upgraded my Rom many of times with different variations of WM5 and WM6 and also reflashed my Radio rom with many different radio versions, with WM5 stock, customs, and WM6, and each came with a different comm manager than stock, and after doing so I am now only able to gain maybe 7 AP's on my normal commute but Cellphone Towers are good.
So my question is, is it possible to get the comm manager from stock WM5 and install it within any custom roms already to created to see if that really has something to do with why I am not gaining any data while using this program, and if that might not be the case, then what exactly could be the problem when trying to collect the data at all. Thanks in advance.
Man, over 75 views and not a single yest it can be done or no it cannot be done, come on guys somebody gots to know a simple yes or no answer!
Hi,
If you mean the "CommManager.exe" file, yes it can be done.
I'm building my own WM6 rom (orwel based).
As I liked better the CommManager.exe from the Tmobile 2.26 stockROM, I installed it.
Simply extract the file from the CommManager.exe T-Mobile ROM and copy it over to an already installed rom or integrate it in your new rom.
You also might want to tune the Software\HTC\CommManager registry key to make sure that you have 8 buttons on it, instead of the regular 7 of the other roms.

Hey eluth, thanks for the reply man. I didnt realize it was that simple, but a quick question, is their a tutorial you can point me to as far as extracting the .exe file, or do I have to flash rom with stock, transfer over to pc, reflash with custom rom, transfer back over. Basically Im looking for a simpler way of extracting than the above, thanks in advance.
Nice advice!
I've done it!
Great - I see my loving 8-buttons!!!
I would also love to have it again. Can somebody share old commanager.exe and reg. file here?
I changed the key to show 8 and it says "Comm Manager supports 7 functions at most!"
Any ideas?
I guess what I am asking is what is the 8th button for and how do I go about mapping it in (if that's even possible)?

It looks like you have a 7-button manager, you need an 8-button.
Try this: (attach)
(the 8th entry in the registry should contain one default value - "IR", similar to 7 others)
P.S.: do not pay attension on the file size - it's just compressed by upx
Thanks fellaz, hopes this fixes my issue with Navizon.

Thanks for this post! I have been looking for this for months!!!
It did not work for me. It had the same 7 buttons on top of 8 pieces of text. The file size was considerably smaller than my 7 button commmanager.exe as well.

Will that create the button as well? When Comm manager loaded it still had only 7 graphical buttons on top of 8 pieces of text.
I tried and it worked... thank you
cab file for easy install
I didn't test it 'cose I allready have it...
Did anybody tried to install the VOIP.cab too ?
Funny thing is that most users reports registry entry started from 1 but mine started from 0 (phone entry, in WM6 MB edition)? I suggest all not to use cab files, but manually perform registry changes. Adding VOIP button is OK, I don't have error in settings menu I used to have without it.

Orange Today plugin (Icons on Left Hand Side)

Does anyone know if the Orange M700 Today plugin is available as a CAB anywhere or something similar? After upgrding to WM6 my other half is fit to kill me as she really liked it. I tried tempting her with SPB Shell but got one of those icy stares
Maybe you should have a look in the extended ROM, the installation might be here...

Thanks SS, it's a good idea but unfortunately the ExtROM doesn't contain much of interest.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1213228&postcount=11
The UK M700 ext rom is pretty useless actually. it only contains 4 cabs
MP_MMS3.5_OrangeUK_Trinity_060811.CAB - setup MMS settings ONLY (doesnt include gprs and wap stuff)
MP_CVSDcpl_20060920.cab - adds the Voice Speed Dial control panel (standard in HTCs rom)
PP_Fix_ShowTodayTheme.cab - Changes the background
PT_WA_Abaxia.CAB - Turns on the Orange Plugin
Everything else is including in the rom itself, the orange sounds, today plugin, colour scheme, icons, programs etc so installing the ext rom wont get these back.

I know someone is trying to dump the Orange ROM but haven't seen one posted yet. Perhaps I should be thinking of an alternative? Any ideas?
You might care to try this,it's from the Hermes but works quite well on the Trinity.
I just extract it from my device, but might be localized in French...
This cab seems to be better than just my files and registry export
Many thanks. It installs fine and does the job. Not as good looking as the M700 version but beggars cant be choosers
I've got the files somewhere! They reside in the Application Data folder and are part of the main ROM installation, not extended ROM.
I'll try and find where I put them and repost
Here an archive with registry information and the files.
All the files goes to \Application Data\DIL_APP
Note : as I said earlier this is from a FRE ROM...
As promised, here is an English version.
The DIL_APP folder must go under Application Data, so copy it there first, then copy the orange.reg file to the device, and tap on it in File Explorer to install it.
The Orange.tsk file goes in My Device/Windows and is the main Today Theme file selectable from Settings/Today.
The orange.bmp file can only be installed as part of a ROM manipulation, but is here for completeness!
Superb! Thanks again.
I have the feeling that this today screen slow down the device... just a feeling tho ...

[GUIDE] Translate a ROM into german and maybe any other language (experimental)

Hi folks.
At first i have to say, that this is a somehow unclean and tricky solution, but it works somehow and maybe it can be improved.. There are some threads on this forum, which deal with that, but i'm going to describe, what i did, to get it working.
You need:
- The new Touch IT 2.1-ROM (don't know yet, if it works with other ROMs - think only if it's the same build)
- A backup from a german ROM (mine was made by SPB-backup from the cmEX-image, also don't know if other ROMs/backup tools work)
- The language files from here (German.rar)
- A registry editor (I used PHM regedit)
First i took all the mui-files out, by using the Windows search and copying them into another folder, then i transferred them via ActiveSync into the \Windows folder.
Then I put a link to the registry tool and to the explorer and PHM regedit in the TF3D programs panel (you'll need that, because after changing the registry to use german language your start menu will be screwed up for some reason and you can't access any program anymore).
Now you have to change two registry values and optionally set your region in the regional settings:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\MUI]
"SysLang"="1031" (for german)
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\MUI]
"CurLang"="1031"
-> It's time to do a soft-reset and you'll notice, that the pin-dialogs and so on are in german.
Go to the TF3D programs panel (as i said: Start menu will be screwed up - there are links for programs and settings, but they won't work) and start explorer to execute your backup.
After that your ROM should be fully german.
This is probably not a very good solution and it's kind of buggy, but it is a start..
I couldn't get it until know, how to cook the language files into a ROM (tried it with extracting the new Touch IT 2.1 and inserting the files from German.rar, but ended up with the device starting up and showing a black screen all the time).
If somebody could help me out with that, i would, if i am allowed, make a german version of the Touch IT 2.1 ROM.
Any additions or corrections appreciated!!
