Hi,
I am able to connect to my 8125 using MTTY/USB.
I dont know where to get the bin file for the original WM5 to load.
Can someone please point me to the correct bin file (any file that will work).
And maybe a step by step command list of what to type in MTTY.
I have searched the forums and its confusing on what exactly to do to get it flashed again.
Thanks!
Before backing up rom through MTTY Commands, you must have the back up of the Rom you want to flash on a sdcard, only then you can perform back up through mtty.

I am unable to unlock the extended ROM and read and copy the data contained there but I cannot write to or modify any of the files there.
Is there anyway to unlock the flash for write operations?
Thanks

Cabs are read only in ext rom, change the attrib.
The xda tool has an unlock and an unhide. one is to beable to see the ext rom the other to write to it
i gave that a try, it seems that the rom is read only, I am unable to copy additional cabs to the Extended rom.
Is this a Harier device?

Did you do a softreset after the unlock?
Yip, I also tried the same process after an O2 upgrade rom, same results
If I use the exe lock tool with -unlock I get an error
Well dont think you are using the same tool. Pop of to wiki in the kitchen under kitchen tools. Try that one, its the one I use.
I used this tool
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_ERK_Tools
The unlock tool on the top of the page
I also did a hard reset and now when I execute the cab I cant even see the Extended Rom now, I was able to see it before, I just couldnt write to it.
I found a smaller rom viewer cab, I can see the extended rom now, but I still can't write to it, it tells me the media is write protected.
Hope you meant soft reset.
Thats the correct tool, you need to unhide, softreset, unlock, softreset
The files are under programms extrom tools
nope, did a hard reset to be sure, ok so I unhide with the cab file reboot, then run the exe with a -unlock and reboot then I should be ok?
I will try again.
ok, I get ERROR: FL_IOCTL_BDTL_HW_PROTECTION - A device attached to the system is not functioning.
any ideas?
Sorry time for me to give up on you. Just to convince myself that I was telling you the correct steps i installed the tool again, softreset, did a unlock (got an write protect error) so softreset again. Thus confirming the fact you need a softreset after both actions.
"then run the exe with a -unlock "
This part a fail to understand on the tool of wiki you end up with an icon, you tap it, "no run the exe with -unlock"
So as you have a BA and not a harrier were we know you need a differwnt tool, and as you are using a tool that we know that works the only 2 conculsions I can come up with are.
1) You have a faulty device
2) you are not using the tool or the steps needed to run the tool in the correct manor.
i need to change the operator in my ROM i guess... i am trying to flash a SX66 w/ WM5 (tuma 1.4) and i cant change the thing!! if someone could please help... i would be greatful. im new to this.. i havent flashed these kinda phones b4.. thanks in advance.
let me try... i assume you have already downloaded tuma 1.4, extracted it, saved the whole folder on your c:> directory (not desktop), and renamed the said folder into "ROM". also, you have executed the application GetDeviceData and you have identified your operator value. let's say that this operator value is ???
1. using your computer, go to START > Command Prompt. Type
CD\
then type
CD\ROM\
then type
SETOPERATOR ???
where ??? is the operator value you got from GetDeviceData.
2. you wait until it's completed. then that's it! you should be ready to take the next step. as i understand it, it is important that the nk.nbf file is in that ROM folder with the SetOperator application in order to make upgrading/downgrading work.
hope this helps.
by the way, have you been successful in repartitioning using the xda3nbftool/editfix.bat? i'm getting frustrated in not having a storage of 60MB (i only have 43MB) since i don't understand how to make it work. hope there's someone who could help me.
.... and read

also you should say what you have tried and give more specific error messages. How do you expect someone to be able to help you with
.. and i cant change the thing

whoa! that was fast! thanks a lot, imatrix.
I read the wiki and all the other stuff that I was supposed to before I tried to flash a ROM.
I am stuck on a step and could use some help. I downloaded the ROM to my cpu. I noticed it was a .rar file, so i also downloaded winrar so I could open it.
Execute the .exe file you downloaded with the ROM. (If the ROM you downloaded only comes with an nbh file, download the CustomRUU for the Kaiser here. Put KaiserCustomRUU.exe and you nbh in the same directory and run KaiserCustomRUU.exe)

I cant get past this step. Can someone please advise.
don't know why u would get stuck ...
create new folder and place the .nbh and kaisercustomruu.exe in same folder on pc. make sure phone connected to pc via active sync and connection is established (icon turns green in actuve sync). now run the kaisercustomruu.exe from pc and let the action began.
p.s. i do sincerely hope u flashed hardspl onto ur device be4 flashing. don't know what that is? plz stop flashing and read wiki again for ur sake.
People just don't read. Did you try extracting the contents in Winrar to your desktop?
I did the hardspl already.
when i try to extract the folders it asks me for a password.

passwords are usually located on the first or second post of the rom you are trying to flash.
Found it. thanx!
Mod Note: This question should have been posted in the thread specific to the Rom you downloaded in the ROM Development Forum.
New thread for existing issue is a no-no.
Hey guys whats up.
I was trying to find something to convert a .nb file to .nbh, the reason i was looking for one is that i need to convert a T-mobile stock SPL .nb file to be able to relock my TP2.
I tried the search, i found dutty's tool but in the 'Device' option i dont have a Rhodium to choose from so could anyone help me out with this?
I apologize if this is the wrong forum.
Here you go : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550700
Or just use one of the command line tools with the settings from that download.

I hope I not out of line here but I am about to go crazy. I have read the posts and I am completely lost at this point. I goal was to go from WM 6.1 to WM 6.5.
As per the Noob FAQ I flashed 3.29 on to my phone exactly as the directions stated no problem. After step 3 I did step 4 no problem. At this step is where I am stuck. I have tried to flash the rom vis activesync with no luck.
I run the RUU.exe and it runs fine ask me to update the flash from version 3.29 to 1.00. the files I downloaded the TPC_V11_KAISER_MANIILA.rar and the TPC_V11_KAISER_LOADED.rar and placed them in the same folder as the RUU.exe but not both at the same time.
I have done this step at least 4 times and nothing it is still at WM6.1. I am sure that i am doing some stupid newguy mistake or I am missing something but I am lost. If this is out of line I am sorry to the mods, I am just going crazy.
you are correct to place whatever image needs to be flashed in the same folder as the RUU before running the RUU. you are also correct about avoiding more than one ROM image being present next to the RUU before running the RUU.
the RAR files that you downloaded need to be extracted first (download, install, and use winrar for this purpose). once extracted, the ROM image contained in the RAR file is what should be placed in the same folder as the RUU.
...or you still have something other than the image of the desired ROM in the same folder as the RUU. perhaps the image for the HardSPL is still lurking around in that folder?
Yup you need to extract the rar files using winrar (latest version). It's a .nbh file that you need for the flash, in the same directory as the RUU.exe file.
Thanks guys what a stupid mistake on my end. I flashed the rom and it is working great. I really like this upgrade from my original WM6.1. The only thing I am missing is Office mobile. Thanks for the help
