Hi, let me ask you guys a question. Does anybody of you guys that have upgraded it to Windows Media Player 10, have any problems running it?. I been having problems when I open certain files, specially WMV and MP3, I though it was maybe a corrupt codec or something, but I recently did a fresh install of the Windows Media Edition 2005 on my laptop, and its been doing the same thing. It sucks cause I can't use the media player as I would want too. the files even play on my MDAII but the player crashes on my PC when I play these files!. I tried to find the solution, but I don't really know what's doing that, I even tried to run the Kazaa lite Mega codec pack, to see if it was a missing codec or something, same thing. Anybody has the same problems?, and/or have any solutions?

No problems so far Bro as a matter of fact I use WMP for loads of medias even DivX for example without having to install any third party codecs.
My guess is as good as yours - reinstall WMP10.
wmp 10 seems to have just ****ed my comp over all together!
Yo Yorch,
did u manage to fix your problem with wmp10?? because i got the same thing happening to mine..
Sounds like you either have a corrupted module in your graphics card drivers, your DirectX installation is a little screwy (Windows Media Player will try and use both to hardware-accelerate video decoding), or your Windows Media installation has gone a little screwy.
Either or. Maybe all three. I hate WMP10, I've so far avoided using it on my PC and I'm sticking with WMP9 for the time being - I still use Media Player 6.4 for all my proper video watching though
If you're having problems with codecs, it sounds actually like there could be a problem with your codec store too. You shouldn't use those codec packs, they clutter up your PC with WAY too many useless codecs, they install so many different filters and third party decoders your machine WILL (and does) slow down from parsing them all, adding their entries into the registry, loading them, registering them... Zzz. Best to keep your installations to a minimum, and use something like VLC - which uses the opensource ffmpeg and other free, opensource decoding classes to decode pretty much anything that's thrown at it. http://videolan.org to download that (it's a totally brilliant piece of software if all else fails, at least as a temporary workaround until you get your WMP problem fixed).
Of course, you still have Media Player Classic as another option too, google for that one.
Hi all,
got something that's driving me crazy, i can sync my music with windows media player fine and the music copies across as it should however when i come to play the music with touchflo 3d it only shows the first lot of music i put on.
I cannot seem to figure out how to refresh the libray on touchflo 3d...
does anyone have the answer for me?
thanks
If you tap 'Library', then slide accross to Albums... do your recently synced items show up there?
I am having this problem too
I cannot see any of my music in TF3D music player
no nothing is showing up i resynced all my music with media player and still nothing shows, it nows says no music found.
there must be a better way to sort the library.
there shouldnt be this hassle just to put music on the phone!
I think you require too much for a phone so cheap.
Try the advantage,or wait for HD.

i want your job if you consider this to be (a phone so cheap)
you get paid too much.
on the plus side to the normally challenged people out there , you have to update the library in windows media player, then go into library on touchflo 3D, select all songs and play the first track it then updates all the tracks for you.

thannks man, this has been driving me crazy - talk about a flaw in the system!
Will
Delete Application Data/HTC/AudioManager/AudioManager_Eng.vol and do soft reset.
this will rescann your complete library.
i got the same problem and this helped
I still cannot get it to work - all my music syncs of from media player and I can play it on media player on the diamond but on TF3D it just hangs on Searching!!!
If i delete all my media and load 1 song it works fine if I do the above deleting of the HTC application folder but if I then try to add some more it does not work!!
Has anyone got this working? or is it just me?????

prob just you lol, works for me try this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397819&highlight=tf3d+music+albums
just add the music to internal storage yourself? :S works fine for me
nope didn't work...must be just me!!
I have moved to S2P but its a shame i wanted to use the built in stuff
I had the same problems too. Until I read and followed the instructions for adding songs and album art and updating the library on TF3D.
Now for the enchilada!! Does anyone know how you can update windows media's library (once you have added more songs to the Diamond from PC) and set it to search in a particular folder instead of adding all the media files on the phone(tomtom files, alert & warning sounds and the like) to your music library. Only solution thus far more is to delete these files every time i update, which is now getting a bit tiring .
Any help or suggestions welcomed.
I have converted from an iPhone to the HTC Fuze. I still have some audio files that are .mp4. I am interesting in playing audio more than video. Can I get the stock player to play these?
If not, what is the best player to download (for free) for playing audio .mp4 files?
Thanks
If they are DRMed, you'll have to search on how to un-DRM them (I wouldn't ask about that here though). If they are not DRMed, you can play them in Windows Media Player.
I know about the DRM thing, but last time I checked, Windows Media does not play mp4. Am I wrong?
With regard to audio files from iTunes (m4a/AAC/mp4 or whatever you want to call them), they will play just fine via the music player interface in Touch Flo 3d. The only problem I've encountered is that for some reason the audio manager will not sort songs in track order. As yet I have not found a fix for this (and no one else seems to be asking about it either). Still, at least I didn't have to convert my iTunes library into MP3 files ; )
Purchased tracks will not play (in fact they will not even be visible).
Digital Rights Management (DRM) is a coding/decoding algorithm mainly used by iTunes to protect the artist and to ensure that the artist gets money for his work since you as a consumer ay have purchased a song or album online. All your own CD's which you may have read-in (ripped) through iTunes will play without any problems.
DRM files, though they appear as MP4 files, cannot be played without the appropriate decoder (iTunes for example).
Ways and methods HOW to bypass this mechanism MUST NOT be discussed here in the forum, do a google research if you interested in.
BTW same issues may happen if you go from iPhone to iPhone or transfer files from PC to PC even if you backed up your iTunes license.
You may bear an Apple store a visit or call Apples cust. support they can provide you with a special key that you do not have to purchase all your songs again.

Track sorting seems to be a general problem of the TF3D player. If you for example have an album which contains two CDs the TF3D player is not able to sort it correctly. It's stupidly sorting:
Track 1 CD1
Track 1 CD2
Track 2 CD1
Track 2 CD2
[...]
Therefore I'm using Pocket Player instead.

Is there a way to launch Pocket Player from TF3D in place of the in-unit player?? I have been searching for an answer for a week here and found not a clue. Any help with this would be appreciated, otherwise I will just launch from programs as I am now doing, but it seems a waste to have a nice tab wasted!

No, I don't think so. Unfortunately the only think you can do is completely disabling the TF3D player by removing it with AdvancedConfig.
I wonder if it's possible to at least get the Audio Manager to play tracks according to file name. At least that way if tracks were numbered 01, 02 etc that would get around the problem of it not seeing the track number in the tag.
Trouble is I can't work out how to do this.... I've been rumaging in the registry under HKLM\software\HTC\AudioManager_Eng but there doesn't seem anything obvious to me. Maybe a key could be added? Anyone got any ideas?
How about mp4 video?
It took 20 minutes to load a video mp4 file onto my microsd card, but it's there. Windows Media Player won't recognize it. The video player app portion of the camera will actually play the file, but it takes several seconds to launch and is generally choppy after that. It's a shame, too, because the video quality is great ... it's just very choppy.
Is there Windows Mobile player out there somewhere that plays these mp4 files SMOOTHLY? I knew the Tilt had issues with the driver not playing video smoothly, but I didn't think it was a problem with the Fuze. Sure would like to watch some quality video in mp4 mode on my Fuze rather than my video ipod.
I love this forum, alot of smart people here (usually).
To talk of disabling software or this drm would be wrong. But Itunes itself posesses a way for you to back up your music. Its totally legit, and a common problem out there. (itunes not playing on winmo or other devices).
So if its a totally legit way of using the itunes program itself, to simply create a backup of your songs... why is it so horrible to discuss?
No one is suggesting hacking or disabling the drm, simply getting the music they paid for to work.
I'm running windows vista, and i've really starting to get annoyed by this auto sync prompt that windows media player does if you have it open. I'm not sure if you guys have run into it, but if i'm watching a movie, or video in WMP on my desktop, and i connect my device to sync or charge via usb...it minimized the video and switches to the sync tab. is there ANYWAY to disable this so wmp does nothing i've search around and can't seem to find anything.
Well I'm not totally sure, but I know in Vista if you go to the Control Panel and go to Auto Play you can disable some things.
I'm in the same boat simbadogg. Still looking for a solution. Will post if I find one...
yeah, i fixed that a while ago...u can change it so when you sync your device, it doesn't have the lil popup come onto the screen (when you normally insert a cd, usb drive etc...the ones that ask you what you want to do). So that was easy to take care of, but it looks like microsoft thinks that every storage device wants to be synced w/ WMP. gahhhh'd...idiots. well, i guess i'll keep searching.
I think it should solve it if you disable media sharing in the PC Windows Media Player options.

media sharing has zilch to do w/ wmp and its syncing. i have it on now since i got my ps3, but this has always been a problem even before i had it on.
Disable WMP sync
I have disabled the Portable Device Enumerator Service and it seems that this autosync (and WMP remaining "alive" in the background) has now ended.
No secondary effects detected.
Think it is one more of those Services that Microsoft activates by default and we have to turn off so our computers can run Vista.
Thanks for this info. I stumble upon it and it does indeed help.
Cheers,
NTD

Edit: Doesn't work
I recently just rooted my phone, and my friend told me to come to this forum if i had issues. Well, on scanner radio/scanner radio pro there is an issue with the media players. I can select a streaming method, either Android Media Player or Custom player. If i select Android Media player, it takes like 2-3 minutes to connect or never does connect, but when it is connected it stays connected and normally doesn't buffer (which is good). If i select the Custom media player, it connects right away, but constantly keeps buffering after 1-2 minutes of streaming. I would like to use the Android Media player, but i would also like it to connect promptly. When i was running a stock/unrooted phone, the Android Media player would connect right away, and be just fine.
When I emailed the developer for the app to see if it was because there was an issue with the application, all he said was "I don't why the Android player would be taking that long to connect and I don't have any control over its behavior. When you select a scanner from the directory my app tells Android's media player (behind-the-scenes) what URL to connect to to stream audio and then lets the player do its thing, after that point my app only tells the player when to stop or pause the audio."
Does anyone have any ideas or has encountered this problem? Thanks for any help.
Maybe you could try a different ROM? If i remember right, they just released a "stable" stock gingerbread rom for the OG Droid
Where can i find that?
They have the process and the files here:
droid-life
.com
/2011/05/16/download-stock-rooted-gingerbread-for-the-og-droid-gpa15/
You'll have to cut/copy/paste the pieces together, I'm not allowed to post to outside forums yet
also, it might be the root causing the problem with the scanner radio application. You could try this with a stock .sbf
