Suddenly all of my bookmarks in Opera went away... just a blank greys screen when trying to access them. I've tried soft resets and reinstalling Opera, but no joy.
Bookmarks are stored in \Windows\Opera9\opera6.adr.. if the file has been damaged you might be able to recover by copying the file to the desktop and opening it in a text editor.
But it's more likely the file is now empty, Opera does not create a backup afaik
Thanks. They were gone. :-( These things always happen at the worst time, I was out of town for the weekend. I installed them when I got home.

Hello, since a couple of days i've been experiencing problems using iGoogle on my opera browser... The problems started after upgrading my phone from 1.37 rom to 1.93, but they're probably unrelated to the rom.
I can access the google page, but after entering my email and password to login to iGoogle or gmail something strange happens: I am directed to a completely blank page, with 1 word in the top-left of the page "Google". Nothing else. Also, a small icon of a lock appears in the address bar. The address bar displays an url starting with https://.
One time i got an error message saying i had cookies disabled, but when I checked in the Opera settings it was enabled, and i never changed this... so this appears to be a problem with Opera not allowing cookies, since google wants to place a cookie when you log in.
Does someone recognize my problem and know how to solve it?
Some other people have the same problem, see here.
I have the same problem. It started a couple of days ago, and I didn't change any settings. This was before I updated to the 1.93 rom, so I should think it's a problem on googles side, and not with the phone.
I'm still able to access gmail with Internet Explorer (but the light version for mobile phones).
i sorted mine out .solution here

It's a different problem to the one you had coopigeon, and the solution that worked for you doesn't help here.
I think omnivore and jaeger are on the right track that it's an Opera issue in how it's interacting with the gmail servers, perhaps relating to 1.93, or some new settings google are now using??!
It used to work or me, and now it's not working for me (after I upgraded to 1.93) so I'm stuck to using IE for e-mail checking
Yes it's different, because I use a mail account set on IMAP for gmail and that works perfectly... I don't even want to use the browser gmail, cause the WinMobile account stuff is good enough for me.
The problem is indeed related to the way the Opera browser interacts with the google page. I have now tried something:
I typed the entire url in my desktop browser... and voila, there i was on iGoogle. I guess my new diamond is not as shiny as my old desktop pc ;-)
The long url i get when i try to log in on starts with https, which means it's a secure connection, and apparantly Opera can't handle it. Either placing cookies is disabled in the software (although the settings say different), or the browser somehow can't redirect from the https secure page, to the normal http page.
Are there programmers here who can look into this? You'd be a great help, cause I'm addicted to my iGoogle with 10 different news-sites! RSS feeds don't even come close...
Has any one know that where i can find the bookmarks of opera saved in Diamond 2.
Since I need to reput my bookmarks again after each hard reset.
The star in opera are the bookmarks.
In TFlo in the internettab there is also a option bookmarks
I mean they saved on which folder, thus I can backup that folder for later I hard reset my device.
\Windows\Opera9\opera6.adr
THANKS.........
I suggest creating a google account, and making an igoogle page containing a bookmark widget. Store all your favourites in it and make it your homepage. Your bookmarks will then be available in every device / PC you use, no matter what browser you're using. Works a treat! No need to synchronize!
good idea, thanks a lot.
I used Sprite backup for my contacts, messages, bookmarks etc. However, when I restored, the bookmarks didn;t take in the web browser (Using Cognition 2.2 BETA). No biggie. But when I use Folder Organizer, they show up there. Now this isn't a problem, except for the fact that I can't seem to delete any of them.
Can anyone tell me where Folder Organizer gets the info for displaying these bookmarks so that maybe I can delete that and start over?
EDIT: Now it looks like I can't even add new bookmarks within the browser...grr... Well, it seems I can add NEW bookmarks, but if it's a book mark that I had before (one that Folder Organizer is showing) it won't add.
EDIT: I solved it by downloading Bookmark Organizer from the Market.
Hey there
I got my phone about a week or so ago and I discovered that I have some bookmarks that my provider put into the browser. I am however not interested in those bookmarks but am unable to simply longpress on then and then select delete
So is there any other way to get rid of them. Its stupid bookmarks leading to their shop so I can buy movies, music etc and I'm not at all interested in that kind of thing really.
Download Bookmarkymark app from Market. You can remove these bookmarks with that app.
That app worked like a charm
Yes, but after a reboot, all bookmarks are visible again.
Is there a permanent solution ?
I just noticed that the browser homepage setting does not work anymore. It keeps starting with google.com even if another homepage is set.
Deleted the defafult homepage in setting and input a new homepage but still loaded google.com.
Does this have to do with the GPS/Location? Is there a way to fix this?
Not sure if this relates to a file related to "Location" installed recently for using with the Google Map/GPS. Does anyone know if this relates to the google.com default home page on the browser? It'll get ignored if if another site is set as starting home page.
Does anyone know, is it possible to delete a system file to master reset. It was working before.
Also noticed that everytime when going back to the browser, it will open a new window re-loading to google.com, so if I go back to the browser 5 times, there will be 5 browser windows opened to google.com
