Has anyone found a way to get the incoming text message sound to repeat until you look at the message? (or at least longer than just once?)
I tweaked the notifications registry settings to allow all options, and then I even forced the repeat to be on by copying the value from the Reminders notification. It kinda worked in that it repeated the sound and at a good interval even, but it never stopped repeating. I had to do a soft reset to get it to stop.
Hey, Thought to be better to search and post in an old topic rrather than open a new one
I miss quite a lot of messages because I leave my phone in the kitchen and cant really hear a short 5-10 second tone, and a longer one is just annoying if my phone is close and I read the message and reply before the tone stops, and then by the time it finally stops i recieve another message
Is there anyway to have the new text message tone repeat, until read??
I tweaked the registry to enable repeat but it goes into an infinite loop of repeating every 10-15 seconds. Until I soft Reset
Are there any 3rd party options that dont change the way it rings etc, just enables repeating until I read the message??

I have the same request, looked around in the registry but can't find a setting for it. Can anyone suggest a solution?
I have the same role fella, the only way I found was through a piece of software called SPB Phone Suit, you can get it to repeat a sound every 5 mins, 10 mins whatever for missed/unread calls and SMS.
I've looked around the forum and couldn't find a solution anywhere but Whenever I receive a text or e-mail, my ringtone keeps playing and playing... no matter what button I hit or what I do on the screen (I can completely read and respond to a text and the ringtone will still be going!), it doesn't seem to quit! .... I want a ringtone on so I know when I get a text or email, but I don't want it to be never ending! Any ideas on how to make it stop ringing when I want it to ? Angry
It is a known limitation of Windows Mobile, the ringtones for Messages play till the end.
You probably should select a shorter tone for messages.
So i just got my Diamond 2, and it's great and all.
One annoying thing though, is that when i receive a SMS/text when the phone is 'sleeping',
the phone does not notify me by sound/vibration/LED blinking.
Often i have to wake the phone up manually, and first THEN the phone notifies me by sound/ring.
changing the SMSWakeUp setting in the registry helps,
but then it's wakes up unlocked (with CSDEVCTRL installed, other apps don't lock perfectly), which is a big annoyance.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, and maybe have a solution?
Regards.
Goto "Settings --- Sound ----- Advanced ----- Notifications ----- Event ---- New Text Message" and disable "Play Sound".... then "ok" for exit.. Then repeat this for enable sound for "New Text Message" and change default message tone..
This works for me.. Never missed message after this "weird" settings..
Doesn't work, thanks for the advice though
For the "New Text Message" event, just untick "Display Message" and it will wake up locked, play sounds, and flash the LED
This has been mentioned on other threads, quite a few people including myself are having the same problem and it doesnt appear to be a settings issue.
On about 50% of received messages all i get is the green light flashing, when the phone is woken the text alert sounds.
This used to happen on every message, a hard reset improved things but its still not perfect. I send and receive a lot of SMS messages and its really annoying not to be notified when i get replies.
Maybe this will be addressed in a firmware update.
Sorry, forgot to mention that I have also changed the SMSWakeUp registry key. I've had no problems in about 2 weeks with SMS since

Thanks, gonna read that.
I've enabled SMSwakeup and installed Pocketshield (slidelock only) as a temporary solution.
Is there a way to put the ringtone or vibration on repeat for new incoming text messages? The option seems to be grayed out when I go to the settings My previous SE phone k810i would repeat my ringtone every minute until I read the new incoming text. I don't quite remember if it vibrated every minute though on silent mode. Is this possible with the X1? It doesn't even have to be every minute, it can be constantly repeating, until I open up the text message. Thanks all.
theres a post on this topic somewhere. search the entire forum not just the xperia one. there's a registry key that needs added. it's basically the same one as ur repeat on other notifications. just added to the text. kind of annoying tho.. i used it for a while.. the one problem is.. even after you've opened and replied to the msg.. the damn thing keeps going... it does stop eventually. but when it feels like it more or less... let me know if you get a more stable solution working and i'll be interested..
I have a constant on SMS "bubble" on the Home screen SMS Icon showing 1 SMS when there isnt one, the slider has no issues and works as advertised. Any Ideas on how to get that to go away. Thanks.

Search!
There are loads of references to disabling the SMS Sent notification on the forum - you can do it in registry or by using something like TD2 Tools.
Personally, I'm trying to get the notification BACK, as occasionally I miss the fact that an SMS hasn't gone!
Cant find any help
I was searching the whole forum for a while and I could not find anything on how to remove the sound when an SMS is sent, I reset my phone and I remember getting the sound to go away just by doing something on the phone and not downloading anything but I cant remember how I did it
Can anyone help by telling me step by step instructions on how to get rid of the sms sent sound notification (Alarm2)
