Hi,
i was just looking at the asus glide interface and was wondering if anyone could make it work on the x1. if so then maybe it could be made into a panel. the only problem i could see is that the asus p565, there newest model phone is vga 480 x 640 pixels.
anyone know if this can be done, maybe it will scale to 480 x 800???

Is there anyone working on porting TouchWiz from Omnia? What i see they have some nice features with widgets and some graphical goodies.

there are some similar UIs out there that function like the one in OMNIAs, just search in 'development and hacking' subforum.

A full port would be real nice, since i like the graphical effects on omnia, for example the landscape effect is good graphical wise
I would be very excited about a port of TouchWiz from the Omnia, especially since there's a WVGA version of Omnia out there now. It would be a perfect match

when theres a wvga omnia rom out, we can see about porting it, shouldnt be too hard... fingerscrossed n stuff

There was a huge discussion about the QVGA port of the omnia stuff in the dev & hacking section of the forum, alas it didn't work in vga never mind WVGA
That was news for me. I thougt that Omnia had the same resolution on its screen as Blackstone and Xperia. 1-0 to Xperia on one more point then
I hope porting the mouse pointer is possible though.
I made a thread asking for the exact same thing here weeks ago. I think FEWidgets is the closest we can get at the moment. A proper port would have been great, especially if it was a panel.
This would be an excellent port especially as a panel. I have used this on my g/f's samsung tocco and it is a really good interface to use.

lets hope in future there is going to be a FEWidgets pannel that would be so cool

Well, somehow FEWidgets doesn't seem to work very well for me. When I press the panel button in my TouchFlo3D panel, sometimes FEWidgets will launch and somehow hang my X1 for a while. Perhaps it'd be better if it can be run as a panel.
I have FEWidgets running fine on my Xperia but as an app. The only thing that bugs me is that its still in its early stages and a bit slow. And its made using flash.
A proper port of the TouchWiz from the Omnia would be perfect though.

We may be in luck at getting a wvga version of touchwiz. I was just searching around and Samsung have released a new version of the Omnia (SCH-M490) with a WVGA res. Only problem is, its only being released in korea.
So im guessing all we have to try and do is find a copy of the korean rom, port touchwiz and translate the language.

So i was over on modaco and they were able to get the panels to work on HD...yea i know the resolution difference between the Blackstone and Raphael....Maybe one of the chef experts can play with it. I tried to install the installer and it installs but doesnt run.

I'm pretty sure he was looking for a project to port panels to the htc raphael (cdma and gsm variations)
i second that.. hope someone is working on porting it to the raphael... well we kinda see that xperia has got tf3d ported to it's device.. well i hope raphael users could get panels too one day..

I fourth this motion. I like how on the X1 TF3d was one of the panels It is the porting of the app on a different resolution which poses the biggest challenge i think.
It could be used with tf3d, launched with a pull-down of the task bar, like SPB Mobile Shell does.
considering the relase of the files thanks to modacco I don't see why it can't be ported now
hi all can anyone make a cab file for the diamond so we can have the same type of screen rotation as the omnia? the diamonds is boring and the omnias one is way cooler. ive had the omnia and didn`t like it as the touch screen wasn`t all that but some of the features were pretty good. as soon as i got mine i got rid of those stupid widgets on the main screen as they make it look like a orange branded phone lol

Could you elaborate on how rotation works on the Omnia?
yeah in the settings you can change the way the screen rotates when you tilt the omnia and the style of the rotation hope that helps as i haven`t had a omnia for about 5 months now so not sure where in the settings this function is ......
i remember seeing it having some sort of animation when it rotates
yeah thats it... i think it would look the nuts on the diamond but not sure how it could be done unless it can be intergrated into gyrator?? i`m surprised no one has mentioned about this before and i did do a search but came up with zilch

Just a quick question. I have a diamond now and am thinking of buying the new Diamond 2, but I want to make sure that some of my favorite VGA games and apps will continue to work on the new phone.
When running on the diamond 2, does the screen get stretched on a game that doesn't support the newer 480x800, or does it remain the same with black borders on the sides?

I swapped a TYTN2 for the TD2, and most of the progs and games I had before work fine. TomTom, googlemaps,tomeraider, Lexionary, were all fine. Some would not work at all. I was using TCMP, this refused to run at all, I upgraded to The CorePlayer and it works fine.
One game collection that looks a bit weird is Jaybot's Gamebox Classics. The game play's ok but there is always half an inch of the TF3D today screen visible!
as Tonyh said, most apps will run fine. And for any which are solely designed for VGA you can use this fix:

which changes the Topaz resolution back to the old VGA form.

I did see that app before about changing resolution and I wasn't sure how well it would work, but I guess I can't resist picking up the Diamond 2 any longer anyway.

Maybe it's customizable
hmm if the colors are customizable, i would want the top interface of manila 2.5, with the omnia 2 interface under it.
I think it would be awesome to have multiple choices for User interfaces so this interface would be a great addition for our HDs. Plz great devs do something about it

i would rather have the touch flo on the omnia 2 . Is that possible? That oled screen is awesome. Not 2 menton 800 mhz processor and 8gb storage. Thinkin about getting one on ebay for 680.
I think we have to find a dumped rom first to start with this project.

I Have the HD and my only complaint is that i can't get 3G due to att band freqs. But i knew that before buying the phone. Last Month I bought the samsung jet which uses the same tw interface. I returned it. Not that i disliked it . But I just prefer the touchflo 3d. Its more business like. But i gotta tell ya. That AMOLED screen is awesome. It puts any TFT LCD screen to shame. (And i Love the htc touch hd screen).But the AMOLED screen Everything just looks better. Images just POPS out at ya. I agree it does look like a toy. But the specs are awesome. In fact better than the HD. 800 mhz pros. 8gb buillt in stor. I should have mine my tues. Now if you could port the touch flo 3d to the omnia2 Then you have a killer device. and it have 1900 mhz band for 3g. Will that work on ATT?
