Yes there is a cdma unlocker but I don't know if it will work on the Verizon model. It will definitely work on the Sprint version(like I have).
You can put Android on it. Check on ppcgeeks.

Is my diamond CDMA??

Hi everyone i'm new to the WM world. I'm using my diamond in Asia country but my diamond is from Brazil distributor which the spec is stated in the link below:
http://www.htc.com/br/product/touchdiamond/specification.html
I don't understand about how CDMA phone different from GSM phone. So how do i determine my diamond is CDMA or not. Which rom should i choose if i want to flash my rom to wm6.5? thanks for the help..
Based on the specs:
GSM quadribanda 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
Your phone is not CDMA.
If it has a Sim Card section where the battery area is located, then that's again another sign.
Dual Devices are coming on the marked these days that have both CDMA and GSM however the Diamond is not one of those phones..

[Q] Rooting htc Hero on 2.1 (not Sprint)

Okay guys, I have scoured the internet and these forums trying to find a solution to my problem, but I have not come up with anything yet. I have followed the directions exactly for the Sprint version of the rooting for 2.1 on an htc Hero and everything is fine until I get to the command:
sh /sdcard/unrevoked
Now it does it's thing with this and I get the next Unpacking, please wait... And then the huge UNREVOKED, but after this in everything that I have seen it should say "Ready to 'su'." Yet it never does. It just goes back to the "$" and that's where it sits. I checked the phone just to make sure and see if the superuser permissions app was there... and it's not. Am I missing something? I didn't get any errors before this, but can't get that app installed. Ugh, so frustrated...
So no ideas from anyone, huh? Darn, and here I was hoping someone would at least have something for me to try.
I am confused, you said in the thread title you want root for 2.1 not sprint but then you go to mention this;

So you want it for the sprint or not for the sprint?
See here not for the sprint (HTC Hero)

Andrewb84uk,
Good question, but the statement I made still holds true. The phone I have is not using the Sprint ROM but it is a CDMA phone, so I was hoping that the rooting exploit for Sprint would work for the company that I am through as well (which happens to be a carrier called Cellcom located in Wisconsin). So Yes, I do not have a Sprint Hero, but I also do not have a GSM Hero either. Just hoping that since I can't find rooting for any other carriers, something might have worked...

If your phone is CDMA, then I would post over at http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=650
I can move this if you want (I think), but you might as well just open a thread over there and explain the issues.
In GSM Hero, we tend to refer to all CDMA hero's as being Sprint Heros (since Sprint was first to release it IIRC)

Wait... there is a CDMA forum section? Wha??!?!?? Musta missed that. Merci Beaucoup! I'll probably do that then. If you could move it over that would be great as well.

Search " universal 1 click root" on xda and follow those directions, even some dude on ACG network gained root.
Sent from my fresh hero.

I tried out a few of the different rooting techniques and have still had no luck. It's kinda frustrating. I guess that's one of the downsizes of having so many devices with the same platform. You can root for one device, but it certainly won't work for all, or all the different carriers either. Couple more to try before I decide to give up and pack it in. Never had this much trouble with my other phone...
SOLVED!!!

Wow, thank you. This seems to have worked beautifully. I am now rooted and have the Super User Permissions application on my Hero. Kudos for the link and the creator of the apk!

UK three network ultrafast/4g

Does anyone know whether three's HTC one being 'ultrafast' ready means it will be able to access three's up and coming 4g network, or does it refer to the existing hsdpa network only? Cheers for any help, bit confused.

yes, One can use 3's 4G when it becomes available
Does the HTC One support DC-HSDPA that Three offers?
Didn't want to open a new thread for this as it's sort of related, but I apologise for hijacking your thread.
Yup pretty nippy, puts my home bb to shame.
Yeah seems to average around 15-20 mb/s download, very pleased with it.

[Q] HTC One 801e LTE?

Hi all,
am really stumped here and can't work out whether the One 801e has LTE or not. I mean, I've done tons of research and various sites say different things. I'd like to buy an unlocked 64gb but I want to know if it has LTE or not which for me is a deal breaker. Please answer if you're absolutely sure and without a single doubt in the world! :good:
Thanks

So, do you think it's just a question of installing the 801n radios? I mean, is it really that easy? Thanks for clarifying this

Not easy, but there is weak possibility to activate LTE
Would it not be easier to see excactly what variant the 801e has? Fastboot and it states at the top under 'Locked'.
See this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2223236&highlight=variant
Hi! Provide me a dmesg, logcat or the file from /proc/last_kmesg & /proc/kmesg
I'll look into it's hardwares and tell you if the device can support LTE or not.
