1. I saw some post where they said about stock radios, what r they and is it a must to flash into my X1 after flashing Hardspl or sth?
2. If after i had successfully flashed a ROM into the device, and maybe after some time i want to flash a new ROM into the device which already had a ROM previously flashed, do i need to do some procedures or juz flash the ROM over the older ROM previously installed?
Thx for any replies and sorry for any time taken for reading my qns

You have to follow the whole procedure described in the awsome help of Flashing ROMs for Dummies.

if you used USPL to flash your device, then you'll have to use USPL again to flash to a different ROM. if you used HardSPL to flash your device, then you can just flash away!
Ok that is all i needed to know. Thank you, Im glad i checked first.
Glad you found your answer, but there was no need to create a new thread for your query. All you need to do was ask your query within Dummies guide thread.

Hi guys,
I used the search but i cant find the right answer.
I want to flash my xperia x1 back to the original rom. maybe by using the SE update service if possible.
i recently HardSPLed my phone and used a custom wm 6.5 rom. Can i just use SE update service or a original stock rom and flash it? or do i have to restore my stock SPL first?
Thnx for your time
Well, there are many questions like yours and all have been answered..., just do search a little bit more. For example, read this thread.
But, maybe this will help :
1. Download stock ROM from this thread.
Run the program and rename the extracted program to "RUU_Signed.nbh" if you want to use CustomRUU or rename to "kovsimg.nbh" if you want to use micro SD method.
2. Download stock SPL from this thread.
Flash your device back to stock SPL.
So, first, flash the stock ROM, then flash the stock SPL.
OK, this will be the last question(s) from a noob.
Here's the thing. I recently rooted my X8, installed xRecovery, and also installed Busybox.
I want to install a new custom rom onto my phone and I have searched everywhere for an answer (of which there are many. But very contradictive of each other).
Here are my questions:
Do I have to go back to 1.6 to get the new rom, or can I stay on my current 2.1?
Do I have to install Clockwork Mod Recovery to install the custom rom (which is CM6)?
If the above is true, then how do I put it on my phone after I have already have xRecovery?
How do I get the rom installed on my phone using xRecovery?
And finally. The intended roms zip file says something along the line of update-froyobread.zip. Do I have to install the original CM6 rom on first and then put the intended rom on after? Or can I just install the rom by itself?
I know this question is very noobish but I hope you can be patient and help me...
Thanks in advance.
first you dinĀ“t need to go back to 1.6
second you not need cwm recovery
and about the rom you need to follow the instructions in the post of the rom
and you need baseband finished in 15
Thank you I'll give it a go!
Hi, this might be asked a hunded times before, but i'm new to ROMs and looking for some feedback.
What are the steps for using a Custom ROM? Is it at all recommended for someone that haven't rooted his phone to go down that path already or should i stick with more basic stuff for now?
Is there any step by step good guide to start? I've been trying to root my phone using odin, but it's failing, will need to research a bit more.
Thank you
you need rooted device to install custom rom, because they use CWM recovery wish needs device to be rooted
rooting your phone is as easy as saying it , dont worry.
the easiest way is to flash jw4 gingerbread(2.3.6),and flash cf-root afterwards CF-ROOT , flash the version compatible with jw4 it is down there in the first page. read thoroughly before flashing.
any other question, feel free to post here i will help if i can.

I'm trying to install now following this instructions for this custom ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776738
Basically i rooted with the jvu, then the CT-ROOT kernel, and now i'm stuck at installing the ROM, it brings a .zip which i tried to copy to the internal memory. There's a signed and an unsigned version of the zip, the signed gives "signature validation error", the unsigned gives "no space on the device error"
You need to flash CM9 first before flashing anything based on CM9/CM10 or any ICS/Jelly Bean ROM in general. First flashing will give you a bootloop, don't worry and flash again!

Quick question
Hoping to flash my second ROM. A while ago now I read something which said for the particular ROM I was looking at you have to flash it from the stock ROM.
So does this apply to all ROMs as i want to flash a different ROM than my custom one i have now, do i need to use my nandriod backup and restore to my stock ROM before proceeding to flash a different one or can i just go ahead from my custom one? Is there anypoint in this or is it just safer to do so or what???
Thanks xx

You can flash directly another rom, isn't neccessary to go back to stock, so backup your currently configuration/settings/rom (optional) and do the 3 wipes before flashing your new rom, flash it and enjoy (well, or follow Dev instruction to install the rom correctly )
