Hi guys,
I used the search but i cant find the right answer.
I want to flash my xperia x1 back to the original rom. maybe by using the SE update service if possible.
i recently HardSPLed my phone and used a custom wm 6.5 rom. Can i just use SE update service or a original stock rom and flash it? or do i have to restore my stock SPL first?
Thnx for your time
Well, there are many questions like yours and all have been answered..., just do search a little bit more. For example, read this thread.
But, maybe this will help :
1. Download stock ROM from this thread.
Run the program and rename the extracted program to "RUU_Signed.nbh" if you want to use CustomRUU or rename to "kovsimg.nbh" if you want to use micro SD method.
2. Download stock SPL from this thread.
Flash your device back to stock SPL.
So, first, flash the stock ROM, then flash the stock SPL.

1. I saw some post where they said about stock radios, what r they and is it a must to flash into my X1 after flashing Hardspl or sth?
2. If after i had successfully flashed a ROM into the device, and maybe after some time i want to flash a new ROM into the device which already had a ROM previously flashed, do i need to do some procedures or juz flash the ROM over the older ROM previously installed?
Thx for any replies and sorry for any time taken for reading my qns
After almost 8 months of using the stock ROM (romanian localized), I want to start using a cooked ROM. But I want to save the original ROM (if possible with radio as well) to my computer so I could flash it back when needed.
I searched the forum and I couldn't find (or I am too dumb) a clear tutorial with what I should do to save the stock ROM. Can anyone help me with a tutorial please?

U cannot save ur original rom but can download the original from either HTC or from XDA and later flash it to go back to ur default rom..
the first step would be to flash the HD with the official ROM update, but I am concerned in keeping the stock ROM for warranty purposes. besides... it's localized... isn't it any way in which i could do that?

Official updates go by as original ROM, they install without HardSPL if there is an update for your version of the device, so if you have an Official ROM which you have flashed, there's no need to worry for warranty.
As for localization, most of them come as cabs in the ExtROM or the Windows folder. Try to look for large files on your device, most probably you can find and save everything which installs on first start as localization.
Don't worry, you can revert back anytime to stockSPL and stockROM within a minute and send it back to warranty if will be the case, I've been to this kind of situation and had to downgrade to stock firmware.
succes

Just go to HTC's website and download the last ROM for your serial number. Then, you'll have the original lastest version saved which will be for your provider.
Query ansered. Most available stock roms can be found in the wiki here as well as upgrade roms on HTC website.
For warranty purposes as already stated by tnyynt and official HTC updates go by as original ROM, they install without HardSPL. So if you have an Official ROM on your device which you have flashed, there's no need to worry for warranty.
Hey friends.
I have some questions which i can't seem to find the answer to.
1. what's all that deal with SPL? what exactly is that and why do i need to flash it before flashing the radio version? what do i have to watch out from in order to not bricking my phone?
2. I wanted to flash a radio version from ERE36B that was posted on modaco site.
I downloaded the zip, copied to the sdcard, flashed it using the amonra 1.7 recovery. it said that it was successfully flashed but the radio version hadn't changed. what did i do wrong? I wanted to flash using fastboot but there were no .img files posted. only after extracting the zip files there is an img file inside along with some other files that may be important.
3. why are there different versions of superboot for each build? I mean, after I used superboot once and rooted my phone - I won't have to use it ever again.
no?
many thanks and sorry for the long post.
1. SPL stands for Second Program Loader. but you wont have to worry about it on the Nexus One. Its a different story for the G1.
2. If flashing the radio is successful then your baseband should be 4.04.00.03_2. And you might already had that radio if you just recently bought your phone.
3. Superboot version is not different. As long as you flash a rooted version of the rom then you will still retain root. But if you flash back to a stock rom, then you'll lose root. So always use nandroid to backup.
Thanks for the answer
So what exactly are the risks ?
is it possible to brick the nexus one or it's completely impossible?
10x!
Hi,
This is my second time flashing a rom. I own a rogers captivate and I rooted and flashed to Darky's v7.0 (2.2 Froyo) NO WIPE.
I want to change the rom to Doc's ROM JPY V6.2 CE.
All i know is that I have to copy the .zip folder in sd card folder and flash it using rom manager. Do I have to do the same to flash with this one?
I have read all over the forum and I read that I am supposed to flash back to stock 2.1 and then flash again to a different rom(any other rom). Someone also told me that if I have a NO WIPE version of rom installed then I don't need to flash back to 2.1. Is this true? Can someone please confirm this?
1. Should i just download the rom and just flash through rom manager(if yes, then skip q#2) or change to stock 2.1 first?
2. If i have to change back to stock 2.1, i think I have to use something called ODIN. Can someone explain me the process please? and I dont know where to get stock rogers 2.1 rom. I looked all over the forum.
3. I do not want to overclock my phone cpu. The main post on DOC's rom says that I have to flash a kernel through CWM after first boot. I dont know what CWM means or how to use it. Any instructions?
4. Should I install the Wipe version or the NON-wipe version? and what is the difference? I like changing roms once in a while and I might change it again but I dont know which one I should use.
5. Is this a 2.1 eclair rom or 2.2 froyo? How do i figure it out without installing?
I would really appreciate if anyone can help me with these questions.
Thanks a lot.
I have always just booted into recovery mode with CWM and flash the zip that way as it works for any rom i have tried so far. I have rom manager but never used it to load a rom since CWM works flawlessly everytime for me.
The simple answer is if your changing ROMs (i.e. Cognition to Perception) - should flash back to stock then load the new ROM.
If your just updating an existing ROM and it has the "no-wipe" version? Then you should be able to run the *.zip provided following the instructions given (most likely through ROM Manager/CWM)
OK, this will be the last question(s) from a noob.
Here's the thing. I recently rooted my X8, installed xRecovery, and also installed Busybox.
I want to install a new custom rom onto my phone and I have searched everywhere for an answer (of which there are many. But very contradictive of each other).
Here are my questions:
Do I have to go back to 1.6 to get the new rom, or can I stay on my current 2.1?
Do I have to install Clockwork Mod Recovery to install the custom rom (which is CM6)?
If the above is true, then how do I put it on my phone after I have already have xRecovery?
How do I get the rom installed on my phone using xRecovery?
And finally. The intended roms zip file says something along the line of update-froyobread.zip. Do I have to install the original CM6 rom on first and then put the intended rom on after? Or can I just install the rom by itself?
I know this question is very noobish but I hope you can be patient and help me...
Thanks in advance.
first you dinĀ“t need to go back to 1.6
second you not need cwm recovery
and about the rom you need to follow the instructions in the post of the rom
and you need baseband finished in 15
Thank you I'll give it a go!
