Hey guys I have Spite backup pre-installed on my new Fuze, and I've been using it to make backups when I do something, well, I tried to do a restore and all of a sudden none of my apps that are installed that were working, work.
They all say that XXX cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file. Now I cant even run the backup .exe again because it tells me that too!
What a PITA! I used this backup specifically to not have to worry about stuff getting screwed up and that's what screwed it all up!
I'm going to do a 'sigh' hard reset and try again and see what happens, I have 2 other backups I can try to but has anyone heard of this or know why it happens? I need backups to be reliable since there are corporate phones and will be used extensively and with sensitive data.
Did you install your programs to a storage card and only back up your phone memory?
No I dont even have a memory card yet I have a 8gb coming in tommorow, I did a hard reset and tried it again and it failed, then I tried another backup I had that was older and it worked, so something must have been wrong with just that backup, strange and worrysome.
How exactly do you install stuff on your card if you have a cab file? I dont recall it ever asking where it should install in .cab form.

Hi everyone. when i try to backup it says that the storage card doesn't have enough memory eventhough i have more than a gig available. this just started happening and i think spirit backup probably has a file somewhere that needs to be erased. i have original att rom and don't want to change since i don't want to set up everything from scratch. thanks
please help

if you run a custom backup, maybe you've checked the "storage card" option as Sprite Backup is able to backup your storage card too.
Unless he is indeed trying to backup up his spirit...then you'd need at least 2gigs minimum...
No, seriously--you may have checked everything, as operative1 stated.
you guys are the best. thanks
I'm having the exact same problem. Currently in contact with Sprite customer support. They've been very nice so far and even gave me the latest version of the software for free. But still no solution.
I have used it to backup every night for over a year, and all of a sudden I had the same problem you describe maybe 3 weeks ago.
I cant be the only one. The problem I am having is when performing a Nandroid backup....the backup never ends. I have like 3 gigs of space left on my sd card and Ive tried deleting the Nandroid folder to make it re-create the folder. Still, it will run forever if I let it. It used to be intermittent, delete nand folder and reboot and try it again usually solved it. Now it just wont work.
Anyone have a solution to this problem? I went through alot of searching and found lots of info on the restore but not much on the backup portion.
Thanks guys
I feel stupid, I really do! Normally I ALWAYS backup my data. Two days ago I had to reinstall me PC due to a harddisk crash (did have backups though, except for Outlook, since I use IMAP).
Unfortunate, I did not yet found time to sync my TD with outlook since the reinstall.
Today, I turned on my TD (turned it off last night the normal way), and the device wouldn't boot. It shows the bootloader, so my guess is a corrupt ROM image. Anyway, I tried soft and hard reset, but nothing worked, so it seems I have to reflash the ROM.
Will this erase the phonebook?
Yes, after flashing is like having a "new" phone.
I am not sure whether it will work in the bootloader mode but try to connect your phone via usb and try to access to the memory to save the respective file(s).
Good luck!
You wont be able to access the pim file (which contains all your outlook data and messages etc) by connecting it in bootloader mode, also if you did a hard reset you wiped all info off the Diamond anyway ,but if i were you i would start using pocket pim backup to backup all your contacts to sd card then if this happens again you will always have a copy to restore.
Take it as a lesson learnt , the hard way
P.S. When you say your hard drive crashed? exactly how do you mean? it crashed, did you have to replace the drive or just told windows to repair itself , on the original drive. which version of windows was it you reinstalled? if it was windows vista or 7 all your old files would have been placed in a folder called windows.old. Obviously this is only if you havent formatted the drive first and it is the original drive and not a replacement
Does anyone know why Titanium Backup would all of a sudden stop loading it's backups? I have them stored on an external SD card that I have used through multiple flashes without issue, then yesterday I had to reinstall Continuum 5.5. When I went to use my backups, TiBu just says "0 apps loaded". It finds the folder just fine, and allows me to select it, but won't load the backups. Can anyone help me? Is is possible something got corrupted, and if so, how do I go about isolating that to be able to get anything I can restored?
Did you hit the "problems?" Button on the first page of tibu and install busybox?
Yes, as soon as I realized I had a problem, the very first thing I did was click the great big button saying "Problems?"
I also tried moving the backups from external SD to internal SD, no dice. Next I'm going to try using older backups, but that is less than ideal since I wasn't the most dedicated in keeping them up-to-date (of course).

What i noticed that helps sometimes is this: Go to the preferences and select the Backup Folder Location --> Click Detect. This should find your backups either on internal or external. From there i reload the application. Even this sometimes does not fix the issue. If i reload and no apps are found i reboot the device. This has always repopulated my Apps and from there do the batch restore.
Best of luck
Thanks, Rizz, but that is how I normally have to do it since I keep my backups on my external SD card. It's really bizarre, I've never had ANY problem using Titanium and I have been using it since October, flashing new ROMs basically every other week! I think a file must have gotten corrupted somehow, and I can't figure out which, so I guess I am going to have to revert to a backup several months old. I used to keep it synched with my Dropbox folder so I would always have a current backup available, but I guess I got lazy this one time and didn't set it up right. Figures it would be the one time I need it, right?
i did a cwm-backup (v. 4.0.0.9) and now my phone doesn´t work anymore!!! please help!!
all processes/apps in autostart are closed with unexpected error.
70% apps closed, when i try to start.
din´t make a restore, just wanted to backup my system which i all my apps (it took hours to have it the way i wanted.
installed all the apps again, configured the widgets etc, took hours again.
then again a cwm-backup and everything damaged again.
can anybody help? maybe there´s a way to repair the system without start from the beginning??
why does a backup change the system (and destroys it) ???
i use the external sd as sdcard ( i replaced the vold.fstab) maybe this has something to do with it?
(rom: 13.8-11 MoDaCo FR19 Fear Edition 12.6)
A backup doesn't change anything at all, it only reads from the phone. It's either a co-incidence or something else happened in recovery.
I don't know what causes this error but try to restore your backup.
i use the external sd as sdcard

I thought this is regular. Isn't it?
thats exactly what i thaught too.
but i had no problems with the running system, i could switch the phone off and an again without problems too.
just after a cwm-backup it happens. did it twice...
can´t explain it to myself, but it must change/destroy something!

no, in stock rom the internal sd card is called sdcard and the path for the external is sdcard/_external-sdcard (or something like that).
in cm7-roms it´s like i got it.
restoring the backup causes the errors again (only data-backup for an running system too)
