HTC TNTY II and Skype

I am having trouble loading skype on to my orange TYTN II. Everytime I down load the file it gives me an error message stating
SkypeforPocketPC i not a valid Pocket PC application
Can anyone please help or tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Seems like you did not install the correct version.
Download this one (http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-pocketpc-cab) to your device and run it. THis will install the correct version.

Thanks for the help will give that a go. Wasn't sure about the cab file as it had said that was for advanced users only so just tried using the download link.

you can also install the .exe file, but you have to install it on your computer, not your kaiser. The installation to your device will then be performed by activesync/Windows Mobile Device Center.

Is there a way to use your bluetooth headset with Skype? I am unable to get that to work on my AT&T Tilt it only acts as speaker on the phone. What am I doing wrong?

Can't Flash Anything

I have been trying for almost 2 days straight to flash a new HardSPL then ROM to my Touch Diamond. I have done everything I can possibly think of but nothing works. I think the problem may be that I am using VMWare Fusion (on a MacBook Pro) running Windows 7. I can establish a connection with WMDevice Center perfectly fine, the RUU puts my Diamond into BootLoader and it says USB in the white area. However, after this step the status bar shows up on the computer for about a minute then I get error 26x (260, 266, 264....) cannot connect to device. I don't know how to work around this. I would just boot from the Internal Storage but I need to be able to flash a HardSPL before I can do this. I somehow was able to flash a new SoftSPL (I'm running SPL-0.64.000 right now). If anyone has any ideas about what I can do please let me know. I've searched the forum, done hard resets, tried JumpSPL v1, tried to boot a ROM from Internal (can't without updated HSPL), everything. I'm out of ideas.....

Im having the same problem i almost slammed mines. At first the activesync use to come out now it doesnt even do that some choose what to open with box comes out. This phone does things random i have no idea why. Everytime it connects i press the update to install the new windows 6.5 on it and the the sound of it disconnecting shows up then it sounds again and then the screen says usb and then on my computer it says theres no htc connected so i wait to see and i get a error after 3minutes of waiting then i got to reset. Its getting me real frustraded.

Updating X1i to win Mo 6.5 from 6.1 from mobile without using memory stick

Okay heres my problem i have been floating around on the forums for a while and been after flashing my win Mo 6.1 X1 to 6.5 or use any of the many custom roms on this site.
However i have many many memory sticks for vairous phons for the last 5 or so years, but i dont own the required type for this phone and i refuse to buy a MS just to freekin upgrade my rom.
does anyone know of a way to update the rom on the phone via PC like place the custom rom / win mo file son a place in the main phone storage and update form that ?
i can't for the life of me find away to do this, thnx in advance

Seems you can't read also i said without using a memory stick. . . i need a way to do this without sticking the rom file on the root of a memory stick

HUmmm okay this method of running the ROM from the same directory as the .nbh file is failing i get past the 4 colour boot screen and then to the 0% bar and then i get an error [26] update error
i have tryed this with two diffrent customRRU.exe and one supplyed with the rom i am trying to install ( X2 rom with win 6.5 latest release ) and nothing just crashes and re boots in ( yes the phone has had hardSPL used on it, as it was unlocked fromvodaphone network ) any ideas ???

Try connecting your phone to your pc when in bootloader, and wait until your pc has installed the drivers for it (don't run CustomRUU).
When the drivers are installed, reset your phone, connect to your pc with ActiveSync (or Windows Mobile Device Center, if you have Vista or Win 7).
Run CustomRUU when connected...

[Q] USB not working, cant load new ROM

Hi,
Was hoping someone can help me...the USB port on my HTC Touch Diamond2 has stopped working. When i plug it into my pc (or any other pc) it just charges the phone. I have tried everything from changing the connection settings on the phone itself, to different USB cables. I upgraded my phone to 6.5 a while back and never really got my USB to work after that, so im not sure if that maybe changed something.
The warranty on the phone has ran out, so cant really take it back to get fixed.
Any suggestions?

It could be damaged pins, but it sounds like your USB to PC connection settings are messed up. What is selected when you open this setting?

Hi, for loading another rom you can use SD card flashing.
unpack stock ROm with WinRar or use .nbh file from cooked rom
rename Ruu_Signed.nbh to topaimg.nbh
put topaimg.nbh in root of your sd card
go to bootloader

Hi - yes, tried flashing it with the latest ROM from the supplier, but still i cant get it to work...the ROM i got is also the latest ROM and i think it might be the same one i flashed it with when it stopped working. Is there a site i can get the stock standard (6.1 i think) from? Thinking about it, it definitly stopped working after flashing it with 6.5. Geez, I've tried everything now...

ok,i tried the sd-method.still nothing.it says no image file.i tried the pc method,it gives me a error message.i think pc method doesnt work because i dont have NET-framework.and i download the F****** net framework and i want to install it and it says error!im pissed right now!the phone is driving me crazy!so help me before i smash it and throw it in the wall

try to make manual synch then install netframework, for me SD method never worked, i always flash with pc method,
and last thing: I actually use Dynamics rom, is the best I tried with NRG and x826
also try deleting net framework from pc than relaunch for making it install on pc and on phone together (that worked for me)

i don't think flashing hardspl over stockspl via sdcard works. hardspl 0.72 used a special exe, not suitable for everything else.
flashing hardspl 0.78 over hardspl 0.72 via sd works fine. and no, stockspl 0.78 doesn't make it any harder, i got it back from service 2 times with it.
but i already told you, you need a fully working connection with activesync first for usb-flash to work. (device center from Vista onwards), you might need to search for usb-drivers for x1 first (which also allow the pc recognize the phone if you attach it in bootloader-mode).
iirc, after starting flash-process with winmo running, there was a popup on stockrom if you really want to let some exe reboot the phone (to enter bootloader).

yes you need to fully synchronize with a server or pc

server doesn't have to do anything with it.
and no, he doesn't need to do a full sync with pc. but he needs to be able to do that.

Yes but usually I make a synch to be sure that its all good =)
