Phone option in iGO8

Hello,
In iGO8 when you look at POI information (for ex. a hotel) you can find its phone number and you could, normally, call directly but it seems not working on Tytn2.
iGO8 can manage a phone because near TMC icon you can see bluetooth icon and in the manual you can read that you can phone directly from iGO8.
Is this problem known by someone ??

This solved the issue for me.
*** FIND THE SYS.TXT IN \PROGRAM FILES\IGO8, NOT \STORAGE CARD\IGO8!!! It will not work if you change the one on the Storage Card and not the one in Program Files ***
(BTW, if your SYS.TXT already has an [Interface] section, add the poi_show_all_btn=1 line there instead of creating a redundant section.)

I think the bluetooth icon is for devices which dont have inbuilt GPS and use a bluetooth GPS device. The icon will indicate the current status of blueooth

MMS pictures Shrinking in size when downloaded

Hi I have a big problem, I can send MMS in full size, but when I get a MMS and it downloads its shrinked to almost 12 kb (very small picture) can hardly see whats on the picture...
I'm on Three network in sweden, I have never had a problem with MMS with them and I had alot of phones from them....
I have tf3d installed, is it maybe causing the problem?
Anybody experience the same problem?
Anybody have a solution?

I have the same problem but it seems I have it even if the sender is not on 3 (three) I tried mms from a comviq mobile and the result is the same....

I search the net and I can see alot of WM mobiles have this problem, but some in here on the XDA have got a cab to fix it and make mms work...but I don't know if the cabs work on Xperia and sweden.

I have the same prob on Tmobile USA. I think because my carrier doesnt regconize the handset as one of their known phone so they shrink the pic size to the minium resolution. I dont know if that is true. It's really annoying.

I have not done that, because I think the problem is with the carrier THREE and as romeo0119 wrote T-Mobile in the US, it is the carrier that doesn't recognize the phone, I have reported to them but they are incompetent ***** But I will report to X1 support and see what they have to say.

MMS picture size
Hi Kevin,
I have exactly the same issue on my X1 but im with O2 (via CPW).
I received a MMS pic today for the first time and it also re-sized it to 12kb and the pic ended up being rediculously small....
I would be apprecative if anyone else has experienced this or if there is anyway to fix it....?

Im having the same problem . I have reported this to X1-support so just waiting for a reply. I also tried the fix they found for the Samsung omnia just for trying sake but this did not work. I will post any reply i get back from X1-Support.

what brand your on? because mine works with telia and telia2 its only with 3 (three) it doesn't work...and please tell us what x1 support says

Its getting so annoying only having small 17kb pictures sent to me.

There was one guy who had this problem over at esato and he fixed it. This is hidden in a rather long genieric thread so i'll just copy his post here...
"Basically, it has something to do with the phone not being set up, or directing to the correct 'profile' with the network operator. For example, my settings were directing to the Taiwan HTC website for some reason. Because O2 didn't have these settings, it was defaulting the MMS settings to how they were when MMS was first introduced.
The solution is basically using a program like PHM Registry Editor to change the profile, so it directs to the correct details. However, as there aren't any specific Xperia ones yet, you can have it use those of another phone. In my case, I have used the N95 settings, as these are ones set up on O2.
So, in the reg editor you need to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - Software - Arcsoft MMS UA - Config - mm1 - WspHeader
There will be 6 strings in this part of the registry. You just need to edit the 'User-Agent' profile to:
NokiaN95/11.0.026; Series60/3.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1
And the 'Profile' string to:

Congrats for yr SWE rom. Try this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Error Reporting]
"Group"=dword:3
"Redirect"=""
It will hide the error reporting from display but you still need to remove the dll and association in order to free the space and resource.

after installing your rom and hardresetting it, the screen calibration wont show up, i need to go into settings and screen to calibrate, is this working in the new 1.2?

Yes, everything that was not working in 1.0 is fixed, after the second boot you may need to press the startmenu, then it working just normal

well its not, no screen calibration or time setting, cant get programs to work, but works with all other roms in this forum. ex. s2v

I removed screen calibration and time settings in the beginning as i thougt it's kinda useless, but i will consider adding it. I have not had any problem with any app but i will look into it.
EDIT: Strange, every 2s app workes for me :S I'm going to try to install a clean install and check how it workes, hold on

got it! a dir called by s2v did not exist.. looking into other issues...

okey, so it was no wrong with the rom? thank you so much for testing it as i have no time to do it on my own i thinking of maybe readd the business stuff like ipsec and the whole enterprise package, what do you all think? should a lite rom include the whole enterprise package?

My trusty D1 I could show the weekday in TFL3D, unfortunately that cab file does not work with the D2. Does anybody have any idea??

This "hack" would be great if only it didn't overlap with the alarm setting below the minutes (see overlapping below the 10 of the 15:10 reading of the clock):
It also changed the string "Camera" to "IDS_CAMERA" (lower right corner)
Maybe somebody (the author of this cab??) can make some changes...

Works with german Topaz and MDA V, don't know about other languages.

This is a german language specific CAB, if someone with an english language device sends me the file 7e640092_manila from their \windows folder, I can make one for english language too. Thanks!

Install and/or use Advanced Config,then Menu -->More Settings --> TouchFLO3D (ignore error) --> Home page date format (choose one from 13 available !) --> tap Change --> Voila!
If you have overlap problems with alarm just choose a shorter date format or install Klaxon2 alarm clock,it will overwrite the standard windows reminder. In my case everything fits, see my home screen :

@ Sualc: Advanced Config did the trick!!! I did not use it since it will produce a lot of error messages and I did not believe that application is really suitable for the T2. But the weekday works like a charm. Does anybody now what to choose in the performance section of Advance Config? I suppose the values for the T1 might not match, right?

Hi Studebaker72, in my experience the error message we are talking about is THE ONLY error (and it's only a message) I get when using AdvancedConfig,maybe it will be solved with the next release of the app...I made various tests by changing the Performance Parameters, but I ended up keeping the Advised values (still better than Default), because for higher values I got scrambled landscape screens (with wm6.5, not with 6.1). My advice is to try by yourself, you don't risk anything. To have noticeable improvements you should use also HD Tweak (d'oh!another non specific app, but it works),go to point 14 (touchFLO3D) and set Sensitivity to Intermediate and Pression to Normal (default). Again, do your own tests, these are values that suit me, but maybe not you

Ahm, does this nice German application also exist without abbreviation? So it does show i.e. "Dienstag, 19.05.2009" instead of "Di, 19.05.09"?

The Lagg in windows messaging im talking about is the one we face when we open new message in windows messaging in sense 2.1 or touchflo3d 2.1 or sense 2.5 roms without HTC messaging....(attached pic no 1)
this lagg occurs in every rom from stock 6.1 rom to chef build roms be it WM 6.5 series or WM 6.5.X series....
The main problem is that when you start typing message in the new message screen the screens laggs while you type with some speed on HTC keyboard... rather it laggs even with very slow speed....
I dont think this lagg occurs with other keyboards like finger keyboard....
This also doesnt manifest in the sense messaging screen even with HTC keyboard when you are having a conversion with someone......(attached picture no 2)
but if you jump to the windows conversation screen the Laggs comes back again.....(attached picture no 3)
Even though our blackstone is a year and half old now. but that is no excuse for laggs in one of the very basic functions of a cell phone and we all payed top dollar for it when we purchased it ...
There was a simliar kind of issue of Lagg in touchPro... that was fixed by a simple registry tweak by developers. that doesnt work for our devices..
so there has to be somefix for it... and if not hopefully this thread will motivate someone to find a fix for it or chefs to find some solution for it....

from what i remember from touch pro forum was that they removed the word counter from the messaging screen and the keyboard lagg was gone. they used a registry tweak for it. same might apply to us. can someone with the knowhow of where to find that entry in registry share wuth us how to do it so that we try it.

Disable the vibration for the keyboard and the lags go off. But as it is I find RAM (Free Memory) reducing day by day with newer versions of ROM floating and I think poor HD cannot take it and hence entire operation lags...It's time to switch to HTC android mobiles...HTC EVO..

There's an arguement in there called "count" which calls some function that calculates the characters in the message after every letter. Removing this arguement stops tmail from calculating the character count thus eliminating the keyboard lag.
IF SOMETHING BREAKS JUST DELETE THREAD_SMS.HTM AND WINDOWS WILL RECREATE IT.
I have attached the HTM that I modified in case you don't want to do the editing yourself.
Summary:
Open Total Commander
Browse to the Windows folder
Look for "thread_sms.htm"
Hit file and go to edit
Scroll down (it's pretty short so it shouldn't be that far) and look for "count" then delete it. It's the only one in there so no need to worry about deleting the wrong one.
Save and restart the phone.
Enjoy!

Just add those two comment tags: <!-- and -->
They are highlighted in green for ease of finding. Alternatively you could just delete everything in between those comment tags for the same effect. I left it in there in case I wanted to add a little signature or logo or something.
Also added the attachment for compose_sms.htm
-Side note: I've done alot of flashing and I found that if you don't hard reset right after replacing or if you have SMS open it doesn't completely overwrite it and corrupts it a little. Make sure to reset right after replacing so windows doesn't have time to try to replace it (which is why I think it breaks).

Hi, I removed the count from the messaging, and the 0/130 thing to and my messaging is now so much quicker
...but how do I remove the vertical scroll bars? because i dont need them, and i can just scroll by swiping the screen

Thanks Alot for the fix... i tried ur SMS fix.cab.... works like a charm.... no more lagg issues.And i updated the first post saying that ur solution in post 4 works... although i didnt try that removing scroll bar thing... if you could shed some light on it. or post a cab for removing that or give link for some software that removes the scroll bars that would be great...

I think Advanced Config has the option for removing the vertical scroll bars but just in case I have attached the CAB file to do it for you

Hi. I tried the sms lag fix.cab but didn't work. Also tried replacing the file but still it didn't work. Can anybody help me? thanks..

Is yours a WM6.1 or 6.5 ROM?

I'm using wm6.5 with sense 2.5

Do you use threaded SMS because I think it doesn't work with threaded or vice versa for some reason. I have attached another thread_sms.htm file for winmo 6.5, give it a try

i applied your both fixes on wm 6.5.x with sense 2.5 and i use threaded sms and they worked perfectly for me......
st3ph3nt3 can u check if the new file bigdyl69 posted ... if it works for u. if so let us know and ill update the first post.....
also did you reset the phone right after installing the cab file and not opening the new message... as bigdyl69 mentioned in his post 4 that if you dont do tht windows might overwrite the newly written file....

Just noticed that the fix is for non htc messaging. Sorry, I'm using htc messaging version.

hehehe... its ok ....i think the name of the thread is quite clear... its WM Messaging... not HTC Messaging...

Sorry it didn't work for you but HTC messaging is notorious for being a bit slow at best anyway, don't think I'll be using it for some time. Anyway, I'm glad the fixes posted have helped, they work a treat for me
