p2p software like limewire for andriod? is this possible i think it is just not avaliable is anyone working on this ? or willing too ?
well theres a photoshop mobile for most phone so who knows if there will be a mobile limewire or ares
i dont see why it wouldnt be possible especially with 3g, but it would probably violate some sort of data service contract agreement that tmobile gives you
its been done on iphone already and windows mobile theres pleanty of software p2p but just not for android iam sure someone will make it soon but i think it will not appear on the andriod market place and t-mobile wont care they just enjoy getting there money every month
Call me stupid, what would you use limewire on a phone, for?
Exclude the obvious

Its arguable the word are interchangeable
There is andtorrent that lets you download torrents
1 - Gnutella sucks
2 - No reason except the obvious to use this, Gnutella isnt a means of legal distribution, BitTorrent can and is actually used for a legal means, fairly often too.
3 - there already are BT clients for android, but AFAIK, none are very good, check out ABTC on the Market.

I hope no one does - you should pay for the applications you want to use...
No need to be illegal torrents? There's a lot of legal torrents out there in the world
im ready to pay for torrent program that works with private trackers!
winmobile doesnt work, otherwise it would be good.
any suggestions? or writers?

Maybe you can refrase your specific intent?
Pretty sure he wants a program to control torrents.
Not specifically to download warez to his phone...

OK I may be wrong in suggesting that the originator is after warez - if this is the case then I apologies.
But why would you torrent something that is legal and risk compromising the security of the PC (surely one can get legal applications in the normal fashion).
99.9 % of torrents are for warez.
Downloading music via torrent, although still "illegal", is the only way I've found to download full albums or sets at a time. I don't feel like going through LimeWire song by song to get an album I want.

As true as that statement may well be. There is nothing, even slightly illegal about having a torrent client on your WM device.
Try Adisasta WinMobile Torrent. That should do it.

Absolutely not.
With your PC, they have your IP and MAC address. Then, they should ask to your provider to give them your personal informations.
With your phone, they have your IP, IMEI and phone number... that's way easier to know who you are.
However, using bt to download illegal stuff is... obviously always illegal!
This thread makes me giggle. No one can find me, because I'm not on a plan, so no one knows that the IMEI and number belong to me. Free wi-fi ftw as well.

Not really, it's just what you download.
Yeah wmTorrent is the only one for Windows Mobile.
Can you somehow change the way wm torrent registers itself to trackers? Meaning I want the tracker to think that I'm using uTorrent or BitComet, because some trackers only accept a small number of clients...

Interesting... here in Italy, when you buy a SIM card (either on a plan or not) you have to give all your infos (Passport ID, name, surname, etc)

What you're looking for is a way to spoof your callerId. So far no one has written an app to do that for the windows mobile platform - although there is one for both the iphone and blackberry..grrrrr
I know there are services you can use to do this - like spoofcard or something like that...but if I remember right they call charge you by the minute ....
Would be nice if someone would write such an app.....
ok i know that the app exist for the windows causei had it for the dash it was awesome... i know it has to be somewhere ou here i got it here orginally...
isn't the dash a smartphone maybe its they don't have a pocket pc version..... not sure though
can someone confirm a working app for windows mobile? sounds interesting
Hmm, sounds like an interesting feature. I didn't realize such things were possible. I also heard that the Nokia E71 had the ability to see who the person you're calling is talking to (if the number you're calling happens to be busy). Strange that such functions aren't available on WM.
Anyway, the T-Mobile Dash is a WM5.0 phone, so I would think that there is, indeed, a Windows Mobile software that can do this (at the very least, it exists in the phone).
Theoretically speaking, one would be able to pull the software out of the OS, right?
Interesting - because I have searched high-and-low for such software for Windows Mobile and I haven't not seen one - so if one truely exists I'd like to see it.
If the guy that supposedly had it on his dash - do you still have the phone? if so I can walk you though how to copy it off that phone so it can be put on another.
Anyway I haven't seen such an app - I gotta see it.
sorry took so long had a long ass day of werk but yeah... i dont have the dash anymore it got burned up in a bar b q gone wrong.... but yeah i actualy got the sotware from a friend he said he found it here on the xda developer site... but thn again i have also searched high n low here and have found nothing... i tried google... but i think i keep asking for the wrong thing.... but yeah i would give anything for that again it was great used to call my boss n he always though i was in my office... plus its fun to mess aorund with frineds.. lol but yeah i also read up on that what was posted earlier about being able to see who the other person is talking to to ... but it was all very sketchy....
ok got more info is a caller id Spoofer see if anyone else can find anything interesting...
As unfortunate as it is, I think that the app has been lost with your BBQ Dash. I have tried searching up and down Google and XDA-Developers and while quite a few interesting apps has appeared under my radar, no caller ID spoofing software appears to exist. Well, at least not for Windows Mobile anyway as I'm sure anyone doing a similar search will know.
However, some bit of good news: I found something that may be satisfactory enough. Some of you may have seen this, but the service is called 'Bluff My Call'. It is a paid service, but you are allowed to make a free spoofed call so long as it is under two minutes.
Here is the link: http://bluffmycall.com/free/
The company has developed an app to use the service, but unfortunately, it's only for BlackBerry and iPhone. This means that the only way for Windows Mobile users to use the service is through the Internet. Is it possible to do it through your phone's Internet browser? Maybe, but I haven't tried.
Furthermore, the ability to mask your voice and record the call is not allowed without an account. The latter is not important since recording software exists, but the lack of voice masking is pretty disappointing.
Sorry guys, but this looks like the best we got.

That's interesting - because I've never seen such an app like that posted on this site - and I'm sure I probably would of noticed.
Any chance you can get a hold of yer friend that gave it to you in the first place? Perhaps he still has an install for it or at least the actual name of the thing?
Check your state laws as I know in my state of Louisiana, spoofing your caller ID is now illegal here.
anyone got anything on this yet?!
I'm still keeping an eye out too. If I find one I'll post to this thread - but the moment such an application for WM simply does not exist.
yea, hopefully someone comes up with something...if another phone is able to have it..i dont see wut the problem is to get it to winmobile
If I am reading this correctly, the OP is looking for basically a WM VOIP app that runs thru one of the Caller ID spoofing websites. One is not actually making a voice call thru their own service provider.
I know that my data plan prohibits doing VOIP, but as with anything, penalties depend on getting caught.

WHY would you download and install something if you don't know what it does? Sort of like the "here eat this and tell me if it tastes bad to you" mentality.
Ask questions FIRST. Not after.

Now as per the program, if anyone has a Dash or any other Windows Mobile device with this capability please post on this thread and we will help you help the community by making a copy of it from your phone.

lol yea, i wish i could find it though, seems like it would be fun to play around with, i knew i shoulda downloaded it when i first saw it. well if anyone else happened to see it then let me know
If it was not an April Fools prank then it was almost definitely very illegal.
Listening into other cell phones would fall under wiretap ordinance. It might be a bluetooth hack, which would still be illegal but not as bad, since you are talking about looking through the contents of a phone. Bluetooth (short of a exploit) would not let you look through the phone arbitrarily either though.
Even if this kind of an app was real, why in the world would you install it? Seems like just asking for serious trouble, serious as in jail time serious.

This is incredible.. finally Microsoft is waking up!
It’s been a while since we posted something. Between fixing state machines and avoiding the paparazzi, we have been busy tinkering with Microsoft behind the scenes.
As you may remember, one of our goals was to make Windows Phone development more accessible. Plans have recently solidified and we can now reveal a solution we’ve been working on.
As announced on the Windows Phone Dev Podcast, we will soon be launching an approved Windows Phone unlocking service as part of ChevronWP7 Labs. This will be available to developers across all skill levels and all regions

The service will require a small fee — currently via PayPal — to offset costs but we assure you it will be more affordable than the App Hub. Those who wish to write and immediately publish apps are recommended to sign up to the App Hub instead.

It is not MS themselves who are making this. It is a developer who is creating this tool and MS is supporting it.
If you cant find it in yourself to support the developer for this awesome tool then stay locked and dont complain.
dev unlocking a phone is hardly a jailbreak. we still cant even run native apps
