Hopefully I'm posting this in the right forum...
I am looking for a program that would display the location of an incoming call (city and state) based off the area code of the call. Ideally the program would only do this if the number wasn't already in your contacts. This would help me determine if I should answer the call or not. I tried searching and the topic came up before but doesn't seem like there are currently any programs compatible with the fuze. I found this program but the site says it is not compatible: http://www.handango.com/catalog/ProductDetails.jsp?storeId=2218&productId=214025&_requestid=186476
Anyone know of a program like this?
cityid i think
City Id came installed on my Touch Pro and its exactly what it does. I dont have a cab since it came standard with my phone but a google search may do wonders

However a work around that would involve time consumption and copy and paste, but would work for emails and text - would be signing up for a Jott.com account. Its free and essetaily you call a dedicated number for your account talk to the system and then it emails you a copy of the chat you just had. You could then pull up the email assuming you have it set up on your phone, copy and paste. This is a lot of work to simply be lazy not to type it, and i guess the fact you're copying/pasting negates the whole concept of dictating so that you do not have to type anything, but hey it would work. Just not so much for TOM TOM7. there i would recommend a service like telenav.com. they have a function on their gps software that allows you to dictate to it your destinations and so forth.
Only responding because no one else has. Don't consider myself to be an expert in this arena, but I remember this question being asked and researched several months ago. As I remember (at that time) no one found anything that is currently available.
Some interesting work going on out there - http://www.digitalfuturesoft.com/texttospeechproducts.php and I currently use Jott (not something that would work for what you're looking for, but a great service). Sorry I couldn't be more helpful - hope someone gives you (and me) a better answer.
haha funny as i was editing about Jott it was also recommended, awesome.
This is a link about a regular cell phone a few years ago that had this type of technology. You would think it would be available for PPC.

Hello guys, It happens for me to be blind (not completely) so I know about TTS software. The only one good is the “Mobile Speak” from “CodeFactory”. There are some problems with this software for example:
1) It is not free.
2) It is expensive.
3) It can not be cracked (as I know).
4) It works with sim car lock.
5) It can not help you with the GPS because it can not read graphics. You need a GPS software that displays some messages as text and not graphics.
I hope I helped you.
Guys,
I installed one of the lovely iPhone dialpad files. It works, but there are some things that need sorting still.
For example: half the buttons don't work. Could someone tell me how I can change the button functions? Is there a program I can use to configure which icons/buttons of the dial pad are linked to what function?
Also: I'd like the background to be the same as my own background. Can someone tell me how to change the background image of the dial pad?
You might want to be a little more accurate in regards to the program you are using.
Yes, sorry, you are right.
Well, the dialpad I am using I found on the internet, can't remember where (but I think it's somewhere on the forum here as well).
I have included the cab file.
It's part of an iphone style package called "iphone_QVGA_v3.2" (though ofcourse the name could have changed while it floated around from person to person...).
The package also includes gCalc, wishbar advance, PsshutXP, pocketsuspendFX, flashplayer 7, picselbrowser, weatherpanel, and mortplayer 3.31.
I didn't install all of those, I only installed the iphone dialpad that was included.
Ok, I changed my mind, I'm not uploading any files because for some unidentifyiable stupid Microsoft reason I cannot upload anything, just times out after half an hour and then comes up with a diosplay that it cannot display anything.
As always microsoft sucks doggiedick.
You will have to do with my vague description. If I ever succeed with the upload you will see teh file (I will try later with a unit that DOES do things the way they supposed to: a mac!)
Ok, so the problem is this website (variants of operating systems and internet connections did not provide a change in upload behaviour pattern)
Here is a link to where the file can be downloaded:
http://rapidlibrary.com/download_fi...share&file=3905104&desc=iphone+QVGA+v3.2+.rar
As I said before, I only use the iphone dial pad theme cab.
Hello everyone. I recently got a new AT&T Tilt (Kaiser) loaded with Windows 6.1 and their new Voice Command app. For those unfamiliar with Voice Command, it doesn't require voice tags like Cyberon's app...it uses some sort of sophisticated software engine to determine the sound of names based on their spelling.
That works fine until you have some folks with names that don't sound like they're spelled. I did some research (here and elsewhere), and I found one work-around that suggests using the nickname field to hold a "Soundalike" entry...Voice Command's search function would then pick that contact up.
It works fairly well...however, when I pull up a contact, the nickname is shown along with the real name in quotes (Firstname "Misspelled-Soundalike" Lastname). I hate that. Is there any sort of registry tweak to prevent the nickname from being displayed while viewing the contact?
THANKS!
...still no takers? The only reason I posted here was because I couldn't find it anywhere else (Google, this forum, etc)...don't tell me the brilliant minds who frequent this forum are all gone! ;-D
I have been looking around XDA's Raphael and Diamond forums for threads on tracking and security software for the Fuze. So far I haven't found a lot of solid information. Here are the most popular anti-theft software I have found so far:
Remote Tracker - Searched the thread and haven't found anything on if it works for the Fuze.
Mobile Justice - No parent site, no support. No idea if it works.
Smartprotect - Not sure if it works on the fuze, saw a comment saying it doesn't.
Ultimate Theft Alert v35 - doesn't work with VGA from what I hear.
W.I.M.P. - I tried this and the SMS does not work
Sprite Terminator - I tried the demo too and the SMS also didn't work. And yes, I use GPS test.
Could someone confirm they have successfully used a tracking software on their Fuze? I understand it may not be possible to get the exact coordinates of the phone, but I think getting the coordinates within a hundred yards is good enough for me to get some sort of idea on who might have stolen it. There is also triangulation which is used by law enforcement, but I am not sure if normal people can actually use it to get their phone's location.
If there isn't a tracking device out there that's accurate enough, what would be the best software for securing a stolen Fuze, or even a non-GPS locating software that has been confirmed to work on the Fuze? I'd really like input from Raphael and Diamond users. Thanks
i don't have a fuze, but i have a sprint tp.. i put smartphonetracker on my friend's phone and it works everytime, but i use sprite terminator. it doesn't work with aim very well, but yahoo it does. i can query the phone with aim, but not get gps info, but i can do both on yahoo. i'm sorry i can't be of any more assistance.. maybe somebody with a gsm will chime in. i know that sprite definitely has sim card change notification, so it definitely is designed for gsm.

Hi,
Why dont you give SmartProtect a try using Emulated mode to see if it works or not ? From the log itself you will know if the software is working before you use it. On emulation mode, the software will not run the protection but will log everything (for example you can simulate a sim change and check the log or send SMS to your phone and see how the phone responded)
You can check the forum here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=464336
thanks!!
I installed Smartphone Tracker and followed the set-up instructions.
My problem is that I don't know how to actually use it to find my phone. I'm not an SMS person, so I have it set up to receive an email.
Can someone help? The developers instructions only talk about installation and set up.

Yea I can pretty much say that this works. I've tried it out with a 'partnerphone' and works like a charm. GPS Coordinates, Locking, Blackout Screen, making phone unusable. All kinds of good stuff. I have a Fuze btw and using EnergyRom.
Sprite terminator works with Fuze
No problem whatsoever.
I love my Kaiser, I will not trade it in for a Fuze. I am however set back with questions unanswered. I'll enlighten you.....
1) I have been using an app called "Where is My Phone". I love this app. There is a certain feature I am quite curious about that acts as a macro. When you SMS the phone with a certain command as the text, it triggers a macro to work. This is very interesting to me. I am aware that there is a program running in the background to check for such a text request, but my question is, are there other programs out there that will let you run your own macros on such a text requests???
2) I am also running the Inesoft program on my phone. I absolutely love the dialer, however, once the dialer has been used and a call is placed, the default dialer pops up... very sad since I havn't been able to find a dialer skin that I like. (yes, I have searched everywhere and found them all) Is there a way to set the inesoft dialer as the default dialer on my Kaiser? This would be very useful, because I cant just tap and hold the "1" button on my inesoft dialer to activate retrieving my phones voicemail messages.
This forum is my lifeline to the outside world when it comes to my Phone and i thank you all in advance.
uhm as for your first question, I'm not too sure if I can answer it. I do use an app called mobliza that runs in the background. it's basically like an away message program for SMS. it also has a feature that allows it to carry on a conversation with people who text you. go to tiltmobility.com to find the download.
as for your second question, I don't think there is any way to make it your default dialer unless it's cooked into a ROM.
actually, my first question looks confusing... what i want to do is get my phone to perform actions when i sms it. if you look at "where is my phone", its an app that sends you the gps coords, with a google maps hyperlink of your cell phones location when you send it a certain text.
As for part 2, I guess Ill just cross my fingers and hope someone cooks up a rom. thats the best dialer skin ive seen. finger friendly, big, plain, simple.....

I do not think xda allows roms with commercial software in the forums, as this would be considered warez, unless they just include the shareware version, which would be useless as it requires you to purchase after trial period. Maybe you can download a kitchen and integrate the software into your rom, shouldn't be that difficult.
You could provide the software to the chef of your favorite rom and ask him kindly to brew it in for you. As long as the software are fully available for download its no problem adding it to any rom. Reason why its not done are that people have to buy to fully take advantage of the software and no chef is going to force something like that on you. There has been payware on certain rom from some of the most known chef`s in here, but its very rare and if so its because the software been brand new or killing good.
The thought of brew this in case the device is stolen by someone are good. Cause if the thief are not an advance user chance of getting it back are good even after a hard reset
I used to use inesoft address book and if I can remember correctly, there is a setting where you can make the dialer and history the default.

yup, i think i came across that program, where you text your mobile with predefined commands and when your cell picks it up it runs the application or script. One thing i forgot the name, but i think its freeware, if my poor memory serves me right. Damn, anyway it stays on your homescreen, just a small icon on the lower part.
The developers also programmed the location based application launcher based on what cell radio tower you are on.
