I've been searching everywhere for some sort of freeware video editor similar to the SE video DJ, but have not come across ANY. Editing is a huge hobby of mine, and my device feels sort of "empty" without it. Does anyone happen to know of any good video editing software? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Maybe TrakAx?

EDIT: Well, not freeware, but $12 is pretty reasonable.

is it so bad to let other people know about it who otherwise might have missed it, and ask for their respected opinion.

Hey, I thought you showed great restraint, considering there is a SOFTWARE board. BTW, you know his problem....Nothing better in life to do???
Anyway, looks like this is just a crappy interface for PIE.
Did anyone other than myself read the manual?
From the manual:
"Why do some pages display incorrect? TouchBrowser uses the Pocket Internet Explorer to render HTML pages. It's a new user interface on top of an existing browser. TouchBrowser renders pages exactly the same as Pocket Internet Explorer. Pages that Pocket Internet Explorer can't handle correctly (like websites with Flash, or with complex layouts) are also rendered incorrectly by Touchbrowser. If you're looking for a browser that can handle these websites correctly, Touchbrowser is not the thing you're looking for, but we advice Opera or a similar browser based on a more modern rendering engine."

From PPCGeeks:
Definitely not a welcome product. Developers, if you want to get paid, develop real, self-sufficient software. Piggybacking on existing software is a waste of your resources.
Beware, this is not a browser. It is only a user interface a la PointUI. TouchBrowser is a UI that uses PIE to render web pages and is not likely to produce an iPhone like experience as it's website states, especially since PIE does not render tables as mobile Safari does. The company tells on itself in its own manual. To add insult to injury, there's a $14.95 charge to use the UI.

Yeah I was quite disappointed. The site states that it uses the WebKit engine, which is the one used by Safari, and therefore it's supposed to be a better browser. It apparently doesn't if it renders with PIE.
Edit: And the whole reason why I am looking for another browser is because I DONT WANT TO USE PIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
opera 8.65 suits me just fine, haven't tried the newer release yet
I am still waiting for Skyfire
I emailed them about a trial version and they responded that one should be available next week.
ROFL
Deleeeeeted!

I'm currently using it now. Only had it less than a full 60 seconds and I'm already blazing through XML files on my TILT.
The actual program is for WM5.0 but I'm running a ROM w/ WM6.5 and it's nooooo problem! Just click the link above and it'll take you to the Save File dialog for the .cab file ^_^ Quick and utterly painless. Only thing I did was go in w/ Total Commander, find an .xml file, go to Properties then associated .xml files w/ the program's .exe =D Might have autoassociated if I opened up the file first but I had previously associated Word Mobile in some attempt to rig up the opening of the file =]
Think you're supposed to buy it but you have 14 days to tinker w/ it. I may see if I can just uninstall/reinstall and see if that clears it. Likely wont but may can find a reg setting for it =] I dont know how much it costs (didn't check that far lol) but I might be very likely to buy it if it doesnt cost very much. It's awfully handy either way!
G'luck!

Do you really have to encourage piracy? If it's something you wish to do, whatever. Nobody here wants to hear about it.
Well, actually my good sir....

You missed the entire point to the post. I was simply excited over a functioning mobile XML editor. As of yesterday I had never found a functioning editor that would work with files over a few kbs. So, yeah, I was excited. I get awfully tired w/ moving files back and forth from SD card to PC to simply edit a few strings.
Learn to read in context, friend. The "piracy" thing was a simple side note. I actually prefer open source software but nothing readily available in the mobile XML editor field. So I often "test drive" software via P2P or torrent simply because a 30-day trial is often not enough time to adequately evaluate a program that I may or may not use in the end so I refuse, if given the option, to pay for a program until I fell I have thoroughly tested something I would have to pay cash for. Buyer's remorse, and whatnot, yanno?
Anyways, not saying to crack this (unless you feel like it), just letting folks know we have a very functional editor to add to our mobile arsenal.
So, lighten up, pay attention to the point of the posts and stop whining. =]
Thank you.
MobilePad v2.5 is free, made by an XDA Dev and fully functional in editing .xml
Stylez FTW!
Ha! Good deal! Thanks!
Wasn't aware of it. Looked around in the Search but kept finding threads of folks LOOKING for a workable editor. Thought I had a winner lol But glad to know we have a freebie
Thread's ready to be closed!
Thanks again!
I use ShNotepad 2.0.0. It's complely free, and also developed by XDA.

Hi, Shlomi, welcome to XDA-Developers, where you'll find lots of people working to obtain the best from their (and our) HTC's.
About your question, if you posted only twice, I ask you to read, please, this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=456 before continuing your visit to this web. Try to discover things by yourself and you'll become a bit more free, a bit more clever and probably a bit more patient. Remember this is a developers' web and possibly you (and me, sure too) are not developers and have no right to ask for help in trade to nothing.
Also, the app you're searching may be Kinoma, as you were told, or maybe http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3746762#post3746762 which is interesting if you have a small amount of folders, no images in the root folder and a good processor. (Runs a bit slow on the OMAP's with hundreds of folders in the SD)
I hope this will help. And, again, welcome to xda-dev's !
I have a little problem...
I have what I think are a set of very good ideas for apps that I have not seen anywhere on Android or the Iphone, but I have absolutely ZERO knowledge of developing anything at all.
I am looking for someone with this knowledge to take the ideas and run with them. Free or paid, doesn't really matter to me, though I think the ideas are good enough to charge for, especially if you put them all together into a tight little suite since they are all focused on the same thing.
Anyhow, if interested, send me a PM here, and I'll get back to anyone who is seriously interested.
There's a stickied thread for this...
Damn...
I looked but just missed the one AT THE VERY TOP
I'd delete this, but it doesn't seem to want to let me
Hey,
I'm kinda looking at the Arduino stuff lately...
I'm a little interested in it myself, but I think even more so I'm interested in it for my son. He's starting to really get interested in computer and doing more than just playing games. I think this would be a great way for him to learn not only the software end of things but also the hardware end.
I'm trying to find a good quality "starter kit" that has some basic lessons to help us get started. Because this is all new to me as well there wouldn't be much I could do to direct him, so having those lessons/sample projects would really be key.
Do a websearch will yield plenty of options, but I have no idea what's good and what's bad. Anyone have some first hand experience with this?
Check this tutorial out! http://www.ladyada.net/learn/arduino/index.html
This gets the Arduino R3 kit!
And is a complete stepwise guide!
Arduino... My 2nd year uni nightmare...
One of our profs put a videotutorial on the net for us, but it's freely available. Here: http://vimeo.com/10461008 There's also more on his blog.
