I want to unlock the phone and it seems that XDAManipulator is the right tool for the job. The problem is that it requires a serial cable and i cannot seem to find a serial-to-miniUSB cable anywhere! I have been trying to search for several days without success; its very frustrating. In my frustration i ordered an old cable for older HTC phones (with a wide pin connecter).
There's quite a few old communication utilities that i have that work over serial so i would benefit a lot from such a cable.
Thanks in advance.

The HTC Kaiser wiki has details about how to unlock the TyTN II and no serial cable is reqd. I see you're new here, welcome along. It's well worth reading up and there's loads of good info in that wiki including links explaining how to do what you want. Note that people will expect you to do your homework and read whats available here on the topic before posting any questions that are already covered. The search function will also be useful. Lots of holiday reading!

The Orange SPV Smartphone PC20A from HTC is very similar to the xda in terms of bootloader, rom updates, etc. Has anyone played with the SPV? I have a few ideas that may be worth investigating.
It should be possible to use the SPV's camera on the xda as the connector pinouts should be the same.
The memory layout and bootloader commands are similar on the SPV and xda. Where would I look for the memory address of the Service provider unlock code on the SPV if they DO use the same layout? There is no memory search command in SPV bootloader as there is on the xda...
The pin-outs are not exactly the same. The connector is flipped 180 degrees.... HTC has a habit of making changes.. for example the connector on the iPAQ 3800 is different from the 3900 which is different from the XDA... all have the same connector but different pin outs..

I was not aware. And many sites on the net list only one set of iPaq>3800 pinouts. Please elaborate, so I can adjust the iPaq conversion section of the connectors page accordingly.
I am very interested in this information: How do we find the service provider unlock code on the SPV ??
Serial cable is on its way from US to Europe with FedEx and I'd like to use it for something usefull.
The above question right above this posting was from me - just forgot to login...

Sorry guys... I mixed up my product numbers... I should have typed 3600 is different from the 3800...
I hope I didn't confuse anyone...
I was told from the only one besides Orange that I know of that can unlock the SPV smartphone that unlocking the SPV is different from unlocking a XDA. The code isn't stored in a register even though its also a HTC thingy.
Anybody got some knowledge to share ??
OPs
Wrong forum, sorry.
Wow You dug deep for this one.
Can I use the GPS signal from my TyTN II on my computer/laptop? I have a program on my PC which has a possibility to connect to a GPS using a COM-port. Kan I use my TyTN II as the GPS device?
On another forum I got my solution. It works great. Via BlueTooth and even via Active Sync. Click here to download the cab-file.
The homepage of the makers is (as what is expected) GPSGate.com
Thats what I like to see a n00b that will actually search as well as asking for help. Kudos on that one If only every n00b will take heed of this thread
Lol
I posted almost the same as doemaarwat on the Software forum... Nice

That's what I normally do. First search. If I can't find a solution directly, then I post my question. But that does not mean that I stop searching myself
And if I find any answer I'll post it at my own question, just to share.
But after I found this answer I found other threads here at this forum too about GPSGate
Look for more info at this thread, posted by GSLOEN3.
hi,
I hooked up a veripart 3 in 1 mini USB adapter for an all-in-one deal (power supply plus line out for my car stereo), but the line out doesn't work (headset not supported, remove the cable, my blackstone says)
The issue is that there are no drivers installed, so HTC tells me to use the 3.5 mm jack instead. But that's a pre amped headphones-out, so I reckon it's poorer quality than a line out option via mini USB. Does anyone know if there's a driver available/possible to make the line out work??
[I searched the forums, didn't find anything]
thanks

Dude, see carefully where you are posting and where you should post. Why make the forum such a mess if you guys know how to post something but never bother where it should be posted? Here is rom development posts only.

Especially since it has already been discussed extensively here. That's just lazy.

Will this work with Galaxy Tab 7 P1000 with android 4.0 ICS CM9 Rom?
No, it will not work out of the box. You need to mod your tab and/or the adapter for this to work. Look into the development section, there are two threads on this subject.
If you plan on physically hacking your device that should get you on the right track. Otherwise, it's best you keep out of harms way...
Sorry.
I can't find the thread you said...
Where it is?
Thanks
I'm looking for this feature as well. Any help would be much appreciated.
in the CM9 DEVELOPMENT thread itself

read those posts around it.
i was reading that, someone posted that link in another usb hosting post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23060925
I saw people posting pictures, but never really saw how they were rigging up their "Y" cable configurations. Looking like i'll need:
-Data Cable
-Charge Cable
-Y Cable
-Female to Female Adapter
-USB Hub
My goal would be to get all this USB hosting info into a thread that people could find by searching
I found them by searching. And I thought the construction is pretty clear and off-the-shelf.
I just found that USB host in GTab 7 is not useful because of the need to supply power to the USB. It may be interesting to see, but not practical.
from my understanding, it's only 5v. i could have a battery set up and supply everything.
also, as far as searching goes, for every 20 topics about usb, only one has something worth reading. The best resource i've found is the 200 and something post of a rom thread. i don't see what the problem is with trying to get this in a place that people can find everything in one thread.
It's like this thread. Without having the tablet in front of you, it makes it seam like a non-issue.

If you put some effort and search the threads on this forum you will find that there are few posts that talk about this theme...Anyways,from what ive read on those posts,USB OTG isnt supported, few guys that actually have tried and said that it isnt working(eventhough on the thread ppl are saying that the device has the hardware for that feature, but the software is the problem, kernels and whatnow,im just a newbie on this stuff so dont quite understand all this clearly
About the HDMI stuff, alot of people reported that probably its gonna work with the MHL adapter from samsung, the same one for the S3 and Note2,and that some sites that are selling those adapters have included the S3mini in the description for the support...
Anyways i recommend you to read the posts about this stuff
