I have been noticing in the Raphael community there has been a lot of talk of changing the rilphone.dll file when flashing to a new radio.
I was able to get a GPS signal lock with the radio and .dll file in under 10 seconds using first Quick GPS then loading up Google Maps. Calls are also very clear as well.
Currently I am using radio 1.12.25.16 with the rilphone.dll file that I downloaded from here.
If you would like to read more information on what the rilphone.dll does read this post by Da_G
Here is Microsoft's explanation of it
When a module first registers with the RIL, it passes in two callback functions. One is used for unsolicited notifications, and the other is used for responses to function calls. For example, when the phone receives a new incoming call, the RIL uses the unsolicited notification callback to notify each module about the incoming call.
When a module calls the RIL to get the signal strength, the function call immediately returns a response identifier. The RIL uses the function response callback to convey signal strength information to the module. To ensure that response callbacks are correctly matched with function calls, this callback structure also contains the same response identifier value that is returned by the original function call. This asynchronous architecture simplifies the RIL implementation. If a module needs to call a RIL function in a synchronous manner, it needs to make the function call and block until the module receives the function response callback.

You can't flash it without HSPL or USPL, unless you want to install full Arabic ROM and have a device with HTC__J15 CID.

Nice work, very good work ur doing and also allocating Roms to the WIKI

Very good radio!!! Finally I don't have a problem with using 3G. Now is three bars of signal strenght in places where was two. Aslo, this radio fixed problem with "The person is temporary unavailable". For me working very fine. Now I can use 3G all the time.
Sorry for my English.

This radio works excelent,3G,HSDPA.Thanks

can I just confirm something.
I have flashed several radios on my old TP using hardSPL and then flashing the radio. The process for this seems to be different (RUU signed etc).
do I not need to have HardSPL installed first? Can I just run the RUU (with the new nbh file in the same directory)? as per the instructions in the wiki?
thanks

don't forget: if you use the standard CUU it will hard-reset!
you need to use CustomRUU.exe ...i forgot....

how to install this? is there any risk to brick the phone or cause the system mulfunction?

What about 3G in the US with this radio?
Is it works?

No 3G doesn't work in the usa with this radio. Im using it and get no 3G. Radio is very good besides that. 3G in the us might only work when we're able to use the radio from an american HTC Diamond.
Signal is great. GPS is also.

Why hard reset after flashing a radio?

This time there is no only radio, but protocol data too, probably this time it's better do hard reset!

Sorry but some of us spend a lot of time doing a lot of work to make life easy for others and I find it hard to find time to answer questions that do not need to be asked.

No Radio ROM version

Hi
i have been given a XDAIIs by O2 from a mate to try and correct the botch update he tried to do.
He Download the ROM update from O2's web site, run the install but something happened half way though the Radio ROM procedure and it failed.
Now there is No radio Version when GetDeviceData.exe is run and the Phone function dont work too.
I have tried to install the manufacture Radio ROM and various others, but they all fail.
My guess as there is no version on the ROM the install process falls over trying to determin what the current version is.
IS there a way around this?
If no one can help he will have to send it back under the warranty.
Follow the wiki instructions for a radio upgrade!
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Radio_1.15_Upgrade
As i have Said.
These attemps have all failed.
i have even tried the devise in bootloader mode, the install does get further, it actually has the progress bar appear BUT it gets to 12% and an error occures see below

You are using the upgrade files for the wrong device. Extract a BlueAngel ROM Upgrade package using WinRAR or from Temp. Add the radio, nk, and ms files that you want. Then add MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and run it. Should work no probs then.
Thanks
thats is what i have been doing.
i have used the factory shipped Radio ROM with no lucj what so ever.
FYI
the info for the beginning part of the Upgrade install
as you see the is no version in the Radio image version.
i have used the Manufactures shipped ROM from HERE O2 ones.
extracted the file to a folder removed the ms_.nbf & nk.nbf placed MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe in the folder and run it.
try radio 1.15
Tried that too, think i tried every radio version i could find.
RMA time by the looks of it i think
Forget the radio at the moment, can you flash an o2 CE ONLY
I reckon he can flash the CE ROM only. If not, then the device is probably faulty. If he can, then I reckon he's just missing a step somewhere. I had the exact same problem on my Qtek 9090. The Radio ROM would not upgrade, and gave the EXACT same error at the same percentage.
All I did was extract the ROM Upgrade file I obtained from the device manufacturer (maybe you are not using the one for your device) and replaced Radio ROM file and added the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and ran it
He could also use GetDeviceData and edit the Radio ROM file to be same operator code. Then use normal update without MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
Anyway, I hope one way or another you get this solved
Cya
right i managed to get this from the devise
PH20B 0 B
WWE E
1.31.00 0 0
1.31.139
probably left there when he did the upgrade to TuMa 1.3.
so i assumed that THIS
is the shipped ROMs for the device.
got the nk.nbf file out of it, used downgrade from WM5 and now have CE back on the devise.
now what is my next step MDAIIIUser????
well using the same methord and the same files now flash the ONLY the radio rom out of that o2 Extraction.
Done that and it Fails
as priviosly posted.
So you are saying with the extracted 02 files you can flash the ce but not the radio even though you are doing the EXACT same thing.
Also the wiki radio 1.15 upgrade as written does not work when you try to follow it step for step.
You have tried radio upgrades with
- the type II methord,
- the no ID application
- and also a type I radio with fix.bat.
Well if that is the case you have done just about everything that I can think of. If not you need to tell me what you have not tried.
Here are my last two thoughts.
1) The upgarde you are doing is dirrect and you are NOT using a UBS hub
2) You have tried the upgrade from a different PC running XP with NO Fiirewall.
After that... welll sorry I cant help and you need to send it in, Well at least it has an ofical CE on it.
Yip MDAIIIUser that is the case i have tried every procedure on the forums & Wiki, all have failed.
I am using the USB sync Cable
&
I have NO firewall on the PC
My guess is that while the owner was running the official O2 ROM upgrade, during the Radio ROM update he did some thing really bad. I dont know what, he said to left it but you know some people they dont like admitting to mistakes, :O
I have just handed it back to him saying there is nothing i can do to it to fix it, send it back,
Now he is waitning for a returns pack under warranty.
Thanks for the Help guys, much appreciated. Keep Up the Good Work.
Oh what fun we all have here.
Hi all,
I'm having exactly the same issue.
Just to say: I wasn't able to fix it anyway!
The problem was the following:
Using an Orange SPV M2000 with an original ROM that was very old, I contacted Orange whether they would release a new ROM. They said, Yes in two months. But they didn't. So I took a ROM from T-Mobile and I ran fine.
Then I wanted to sell the device to a friend. For he wouldn't have troubles with GPRS settings I wanted to have back the original Orange ROM.
I contacted Orange support and they sent me a ROM.
I flashed my device with it at no error. When I had to reset it, I noticed "No GSM".
Since then, I'm unable to use GSM and BT.
I tried to get a warranty repair, but they just said, that I flashed a wrong software and that it is my fault... They would have to replace the mainboard at costs of CHF 650.- (=500$).
Now i bought another broken device at ebay to get the mainboard from it.
Orange CH has 2 roms on there site (GER + FRE) (which are also on wiki).
Now if you did flash your device with the wrong software then you would not be able to start it. If they sent you a rom update then it will contain 3 parts CE, EXT Rom and radio) and it is not likly that they would extract the radio rom and load one from a different device.
So your flash went bad possible due to a bad file.
As allways the best is to start over, flash a original rom get that to work and move from there.

Updated first post with that link. Thanks and when you gonna release yours man! I'm dying to test it out but this TouchFLO is addicting. I'm flashing it as we speak so let's see whats been fixed!
Greetings! The first link seems to be down. Just to double check, this ROM works with all HTC P4350's regardless of previous os?
Model No .: HERA100
Platform .: PocketPC
ROM Version .: 5.4.405.1 WWE
Windows MObile 5.0 OS 5.1.422 (Build 15633.3.2.0)
Kudos on the ROM, looks great on the Herald. Thanks!
Hmmm
Can't get it to work on my wing, right off the bat it says
"the system cannot execute the specified program"
any ideas?

It is recommended to run this ROM with the previous ROM version as 5.4.405.1 WWE. This is because there is a problem with the old radio rom and WM6. The first link is up and running, just downloaded using that link. This ROM seems a bit slow with the PP set at 8, but conditions improved greatly setting back at 4. Nice rom but I'll have to return to what I was using before because it seems that the X button issue is still present. Not sure what was upgraded in this ROM but will take a look right now.
i flashed it, X button problems still there so I don't know what was fixed. I'll try it out more tonight and check.
Woohoo!
Ok got it running, so far looks good. For those of you who are flashing this for this first time read this it's very important.
after you run the UPGRADE ROM.bat you'll get an error display on your device screen. DO NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!! don't hit ok, don't disconnect, the device is still being flashed.
When it's done do a hard reset, the T-Mobile start up logo (for Wing users) will display for a bit (3 mins?) but the PDAViet splash screen will appear afterwards.
Good luck, and happy flashing!
Hi, one Question:
i have HTC herald with WM5, never upgraded, never nothing, what exactly i must do to instal WM6 without any crashing?
For T-Mobile Users
see next post
Nevermind
Since this has the new HTC Network Wizard you don't need the info from my last post.
Thanks for the heads up “Neptune”
Haha, ROM installed perfectly! Played for a few mins looks sweet then tried to do a hard reset with no avail screen just stayed at BOOTLOADER.
Preformed a soft reset, os wouldn’t load correctly just stayed at splash screen, tried various things but was still unable to boot past the splash screen. Potentially Bricked P4350 it seems!
Below are the steps I preformed to recover using the search function on the forum and google.
1:. Booted device into BOOTLOADER mode by holding down the cam soft button then inserting the stylus into soft reset button.
2:. Whilst at the coloured screen attached device to computer via USB (you should notice USB appear at the button of the screen)
3:. Downloaded latest ROM for my device from here
4:. Double clicked exe and followed on screen instructions (the updater wont detect your phone because its not connected via active sync don’t worry still proceed)
5:. Wait for the updater to finish, device may reboot a few times this is normal, once completed you shall see the welcome screen.
Potentially bricked device restored, thanks to this forum I don’t have an expensive paper weight. Lots of Kudos to all!!!
I still have a problem, my device wont prompt for hard reset anyone have any ideas? (Stayes at red/green/blue/white BOOTLOADER screen) Searched forums and google for answers no luck yet. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Peace!

The radio needs to be version 2.79 for WM6 to work. Also, Its always safe to have a working WM5 RUU ready in case you brick your herald. Please take a look in the wiki if you can find any RUU that works on your device and install it. This should update your Radio to 2.79 if you don't have it yet.
If none of the RUUs in the wiki works on your device, you better retain your current installation and wait for HTC to finaly release the official WM6 RUU.
tried to install, had an error and now I have a brick. Put phone into bootloader screen, try to use the Wing RUU utility, but keeps giving me a connection error. Any help would be appreciated!
nice, it seems i have all in my PC,
i have RUU WM 5 for herald, seems fuction but dont know (i dont tryed)
soo, if i understand if i bricked my ROM, my RUU WM5 will ever set my Herald to manufacture with good Radio version (i have 02.71) so my best way is:
Run RUU WM5, (it will put my Radio Version 2.79)
after i will instal some WM6 by the guide on that WM6...
after that i will got WM 6 works? (i will do some backups of my items in memory)
is that right???
Thoughts on the ROM
Ok so after playing iwth the ROM for about an hour or so, I decided I didn't really care for it. It's just too buggy for me. It seems to be very slow in response time and seems to lag, even with over clocking. Oh well, back to the stock T-Mobile ROM I guess.
anyone have any input? I would really like to get my phone working again!
Installing it over a spanish rom
You think It´ll install if my current ROM is in Spanish? Would I need to tweak anything? I have a
HTC p4350 SO 5.1.422
ROM version 1.8.412.2 ESN
Radio Version: 02.71.90
I don´t mind it resulting in English after it, As a matter of fact, I preffer it.
Thanks.
After a few days using a this rom, I can tell that the ok button problem is not completely fixed... sometimes you still need to fast tap it twice to make it work!

G4 Wizard extremely slow/green boot screen after upgrade

Hey guys,
After an upgrade (I don't remember which ROM I used, but I do remember it contained an .nbh ROM instead of an .nbf) I am getting the following boot screen with green horizontal lines as opposed to the Tmobile screen I am used to. It does not show the radio version for some reason.

}
The device boots EXTREMELY slow, and when it does come up, it does not respond to screen taps as usual. Also the screen jumps around every few seconds, shifting the display over to the right, and wrapping the corresponding line back to the left as shown here.
Activesync will not start and the device will not charge. The radio and protocol versions are not present in device info.
Flashing certain ROMs causes the device to stick on the tri-color bootloader, but I can always flash ROMs from there. Currently I am using the Wizard Love ROM. I want to reflash the original Tmobile 2.26 ROM (WM5), but depending on the RUU I use, I get different errors...
ERROR [238] : FILE READ
ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDOR ID
ERROR [300] : INVALID UPDATE TOOL
I had installed HardSPL at one point, but I uninstalled it and reflashed the Tmobile G4 IPL & SPL (Default 2.26.0001 that the phone came loaded with). I have disassembled the offical Tmobile ROM and reflashed these images (seperately, one at a time):
91000000 000c0000 9d2afeb1 SPL_2
90000000 00000800 75895195 IPL_2

80040000 03900000 f46dd463 OS_0
92000000 00030000 2a4129c5 Splash Screen
9d000000 00010000 093cf0a5 HTC Logo_0
The only thing I can figure is maybe the bootloader got corrupted somehow, but I don't know where to find a SAFE image to reflash. I have bootloader_v5_15.nb0 from XDATools, but I don't want to take the chance of bricking my MDA.
I've only found one other case of the green boot screen on the net, but there was no resolution. Anyone have any clues?

The only thing I can figure is maybe the bootloader got corrupted somehow, but I don't know where to find a SAFE image to reflash. I have bootloader_v5_15.nb0 from XDATools, but I don't want to take the chance of bricking my MDA.
I've only found one other case of the green boot screen on the net, but there was no resolution. Anyone have any clues?

After removing HardSPL and reverting back to official t-mobile bootloaders, you shud have reflashed back to official T-mobile 2.26 completely, instead of dissambling the official rom and flashing the files seperately. The Roms are packaged together with certain other supporting strings and commands, which support and help the whole process of flashing a Rom image. It has a directory structure .
Try to flash the official T-mobile,hope it'll work, all these Errors are either due to corrupt Rom files which you downloaded, incompatibility of the rom or bootloaders are not accepting the RUU. Download the Roms again or from some other site and use another RUU like RUU_MUN,replace the RUU_MUn with RUU in the Rom and flash, hope it'll work.
After I flashed the original IPL & SPL, I did try to flash the original Tmo ROM (MDA_software_update_226102_22610105_022511.exe). That's when I started getting the errors. Only after that did I try flashing each .nb seperately.
These are the results I got from trying to flash the original ROM with different RUUs:
MDA_software_update_226102_22610105_022511.exe - 294 INVALID VENDER ID
Wizard_RomUpgradeUtility_noID - 300 INVALID UPDATE TOOL
RUU MUN - 238 FILE READ
I've also tried re-downloading MDA_software_update_226102_22610105_022511.exe to no avail.

Ok,perhaps the Rom which had .nbh ROM instead of .nbf was not meant for wizard devices,it might have corrupted the extended_rom or some other essential system files, coz if it had corrupted the Bootloaders than the phone will never boot into bootloaders mode.
ok,try to do the HardSPL again and upgrade to any wm6 rom and check if this resolves the issue. As it still boots up and displays official original IPL/SPL 2.26.0001,it means bootloaders are fine, doing HardSPL and reflashing to upgraded wm6 Rom,might resolve this issue and after wards if you wish to revert back to official TMO,than do the procedure again by removing HardSPL.
BTW,Have you tried 'Hard Reset' the phone.
hi zabardast_1,
How can I hardspl my pda if its only in the bootloader mode? Hardspl cannot detect the device(my pda). Do you also know where i can download original t-mobile rom? and how to download it?

THanks in advance

Hi, I am almost but not quite in the same predicament that he is in, except I am stuck in the White screen and I can not get to the Bootloaders mode. I press the camera and power button to get into the screen and I only get the white screen. I have flashed my rom a couple of times now and this is definetly different for me. Is there another button besides the camera button that will get me back to the bootloaders screen?
Your help is much appreciated.

First, post the vital data of the phone to determine the DOC chip version of the phone.
Secondly, its not clear from your post what method or Rom you tried to flash. The only way to get into Bootloaders (multicolored screen) is by pressing Camera + Soft Reset or Camera + Power On button, but keep pressing & holding down Camera button till it restarts and gets into Bootloaders.

Kaiser doesn't call after 1 call

Hi I'm new around here. Thanks to the NOOB install guide I could install a great rom from this site. It worked great... untill I made a call. I called someone and after the call I couldn't call anyone untill I soft reseted the phone. I tried to install another rom for the kaiser and I even tried the wm 6.5 rom. They all work but after 1 call the call function cuts working. Is this an common problem?
Could someone help me
you're obviously new here, so welcome!
somehow, i think you're under the impression that we are mind readers
did you search here on the forum? did you read the wiki? which particular flashing guide for noobs did you follow? which ROMs EXACTLY did you try?
what i mean to say is BE PARTICULAR and DETAILED in your posts...and this is a NECESSITY if you are starting a new thread...which really doesn't seem appropriate (yet) because your issue SEEMS to be caused by an unmatched radio version and/or SPL version...BOTH SPL version and radio version must be versions that are meant for windows mobile 6.1/6.5 if you tried 6.1/6.5 ROMs. i have a feeling your SPL is one meant for windows mobile 6.0...another possibility is that the ROMs you tried DID NOT come with a radio (some ROMs do, some ROMs don't) and so your radio version might also be one meant for windows mobile 6.0.
please read the wiki to find out how to determine your radio version and your SPL version...then post back here
you might want to re-read the noob flashing guide also
and to reiterate, always be detailed and always SEARCH thoroughly
good luck
same problem
I have exacly the same problem.
I used Kaiser Unlocker V2.0 Made by Olipro - 2008
The phone actually dials the numbers but there is no sound either out or in.
also when recieving a txt message the vibrate remains on contant.
My Kaiser is running WM6.1
operator v 24.328.1.610
Rom version 3.28.61.0 WWE
date: 05/02/08
Radio Version 1.70.OliNex
protocol version 25.65.30.04H
Honestly i'm less than a neebie! Although an experenced PC engineer, I only wanted to undo the Orange SIM lock before I go overseas for 6 months to an area that only operates Cable & Wireless mobile.
Mentioned above is a note about out of date radio version, the Rom date does seem a little old for WM6.1, what should I be looking for to update the radio?
any advice is greatly recieved.
Thanks
Ian
the unlocker essentially uses a "special" radio+SPL combo that is meant for unlocking ONLY
you seem to still have the said radio version (indicated by the "1.70.OliNex" string)
so verify that your phone is indeed sim unlocked. then proceed to change your spl and radio to the recommended ones for windows mobile 6.1. the unlocking should "stick" after changing the radio+spl combo but do verify before starting and after completing the update.
nice to see you are a PC engineer so you'll have no trouble thoroughly reading the wiki (first link in my signature) and making sense of the wealth of information there on how to update your radio (get a suitable one from the "Ultimate Radio Thread" linked in my signature) and spl.
good luck!
Thanks very much, a temp radio... that makes sence.
Thanks again
Ian

[Q] Stuck in cyclic restart after Radio ROM upgrade!?!

Hi, i am from Turkey,
I have a Touch Diamond (Diam100) bought from Norway. I just loaded a new radio ROM onto my phone (I am security unlocked and sim unlocked and hard SPL'd, thanks to Olinex!) and everything looked to work fine, the status bar got to 100% and the phone rebooted as usual after a new ROM load
However - it is completely stuck in a cyclic reboot. I get the HTC startup screen and then it just reboots again and again. I tried a hard reset and got the confirmation message that it was restored OK, press volume up to boot. However it does the same reboot again and again
I tried some thing like that:
*Try to install "RUU_Diamond_HTC_NOR_1.93.409.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship" stock rom, but it freezes at %13
*Try to install stock radio rom "Diamond_Radio_1.00.25.05" bu it freezes at %95!
*Try to install stock spl, everything looked to work fine, the status bar got to 100% and the phone rebooted as usual after a new ROM load but the problem seems again!
i can install cooked roms, but after restart this problem happens again and again!
Can you help me please? I love my phone very much.. (
(sorry for my poor english)
Hi, try MTTY your phone. log in to use search in these fora and find "The definitive MTTY thread". It's a bit of...homework to do but will get you out of this.Your issue is caused by certain undeleted items which remain after a rom flash as far as i've learned.I hadn't have to do it until after several ROM flashes but guess sooner or later everybody faces it.Well it's time you did it too...
Cheers

hi, i tried it step by step. but nothing happens
Hi,
Dude, that's frustrating, however as i understand it's a stock SPL you've presently got on your phone, right? I don't know which SPL version you've had before but just in case, try to update to HSPL version 1,93. Then try flashing a ROM you like.If problems persist MTTY your phone again after having upgraded HSPL.
And a word of advice based on own experience: Not all radios are compatible with all ROMs and vice versa...
Hope you're soon going to get this right,
Regards from Greece

before you upgrade the radio, whether it has been unlock device with the XDA Unlock Application ..? try to hard reset your device after that make sure the device go to the boot loader (3 colors screen) and reflash with the official ROM!! then unlock the device and immediately you can do to upgrade the radio (at the time of upgrading the radio make sure the SIM card removed)
