Changing the font size for options under screen settings? - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone!
I just got my X1 and am loving it.
However, I can't seem to find an option for the today screen size font settings that I like.
Under System > Screen > Text Size
There are 5 options. The default option is kinda small. But the next one is too big for my preference.
Is there a way to hack the registry to change it to a font size between option 3 and option 4?
Thanks in advance for any replies!
Best regards
relazzzzz

I have changed the font size with Xperia Tweak or with sk tools.
Xperia Tweak is free from this forum, sk tools not.
dingolino

Hi dingolino,
Thanks for the suggestions.
It doesn't do exactly what I need.
The font settings in SK Tools changes the system font size, menu bar font size and the pop up menu bar font size. It does not change the size of the fonts on the today screen.
I realised that selecting the font size under systems > screen changes the font size of the today screen and also the sms inbox list.
My current selection is too small. The next selection is too large. Was hoping a registry key could enable me to select the size of the font under systems > screen. I had the same problem when I owned a Benq P50 and I had to tweak a registry key to get the option I wanted. Was wondering if anyone knew the registry key for WM6.1.
Thanks!!

HiHi,
I found the registry key:
HKLM > Control Panel > Stylus > 192 DPI
On the Screen settings, the options I was toggling between were XXXX, XXXX, 800, 1000, XXX.
I set the value to 900 and I got exactly the font size that I wanted. The today screen font and the sms inbox font has also changed to my preferred size.
Hope this is helpful for anyone else who can't get the right font size.
Regards

Notification Manager - Screen settings ?

I have a problem that my phone pops up notifications - but they are blank.
The phone is a Kaiser/TyTnII ( Used to be Vodafone 1615 )
I am pretty sure that this phone has been flashed with one of the XDA ROMs as i have just done a hard reset and i still have touchFlo and a bunch of other non standard looking utilities on the phone.
The about box for TouchFlo says version 1.0 ( Build 1818.3719 ) which i am pretty sure having read all about the touchflo project for the Kaiser on the XDA developers is a version created here.
So now that i have given some background, back to the problem... pretty much everything on the phone seems to work ok. But the really annoying bug is this notification pop up.
eg. Set a calendar appointment for a few minutes in the future, set a reminder.
.... few minutes passes ... notification pops up
whole screen dims and at the bottom i get the soft buttons of "dismiss" and "menu"
No actual message is displayed on the screen.
Now i flip to landscape mode, and i can see the top left hand corner of a pop up message - the rest dissapears off the screen.
So, what have i done so far to help myself ?
1) searched these forums for somebody having the same problem/question X
2) tried some registry tweaks for specifying what message should pop up X
3) renaming the notification manager.dll X
4) looking at all the notification *.png screen images in the /windows/
folder and confirming that they are correctly set for the QVGA screen size. X
5) tried downloading the notification manager.cab for the rhodium - elsewhere on the XDA site. - would not install
6) hard reset the phone.
I dont actually want the touchflo as i prefer the spb mobile shell. What options do i have ?
Do i need to just apply the correct registry tweaks and all will be well ?
Do i download a new notification manager from somewhere that will fix this?
Do i have to re-flash the phone ? ( least attractive option to me )
Can i somehow uninstall the notification manager and go back to a windows
default version ?
thanks, you_were_lucky
Notification Manager - pop up window size ?
So some developments since my post yesterday, I tried some registry tweaks to change the font sizes.
I notice that if i tap the title bar ( next to the wifi icon) i get the notification manager screen up - this has all the correctly sized and formatted .png images and functions correctly.
It is the pop up that appears due to a calendar reminder or a wireless network found etc. that is all wrong
When i go into landscape i can see the edge of this and even click on the wireless network found radio buttons etc.
So i figure that maybe the pop up window sizes are all wrong due to some mad font size someplace. I went into the registry and tried changing font sizes down from 800 to 12 and this did indeed change the size of most fonts kicking arround the place. Unfortunately it did not influence the size of the pop up box.
Any ideas people ?
thanks YWL

Increase system font size

How do I increase the font size on my Xperia system wide? I tried ING Change Font but the results are very minimul. Xperia Tweaks does not work on my system so I can't say if it would have had any effect.
I just got my Xperia today and as soon as I turned it on, I was shocked to see how small the font size is. The smallest font on my Nokia E61 seems large by comparison. I'm very near sighted so font size is very important to me. If someone could suggest another solution to my problem it would be great. I love this phone and would hate to return it for something else like an iphone.
dude the first thing u should do is go tru every single setting on ur phone and u would see it
aint this what a normal person do when they get a new phone?
solution is here:
Start>Settings>Screen>Text Size
I've looked around the phone before posting. And no I do not have the "screen" option when I go into settings.

Thanks for the help. But the text is still a bit small for me. I maxed out the text size and the menus and various screens seem to still have the same size as before

- Keep Auto Adjust Screen Tone "on" - it will save (small amount) of your Battery
- Touch key light duration determines how long your menu key and back key will stay "on"... I usually keep it at 1.5 Sec...
I think its better to manually adjust screen brightness and the touchkey 6 sec. is better

Notifications DPI settings

Hi,
I want to change the screen resolution of notifications to a less larger screen so more text will fit on the screen.
I'm on NULL_23 and have Xposed App Settings installed.
I tried changing the "messages" to different dpi setting, but it stays the same.
Anyone know how I need to set the dpi settings ?
EDIT : Never mind, I was on the correct path with the Xposed App Settings but ofcourse I need to enable the module otherwise it won't work

Lockscreen DPI

I changed my DPI systemwide to 560. The dialer, lockscreen and camera become off set. So I downloaded app settings through xposed and changed dialer and camera DPI back to 640 and solved the off set issue. However I can't find the actual file/app name for the lockscreen. There's 100s of system files/apps to choose from. Does anyone know what the actual lockscreen is called. For example com.android.security or something like that. If anyone knows it would be great. I don't want to edit 300 systems apps one by one until I fix my lockscreen. I've tried apps simular to security but nothing changes my lockscreen DPI back to 640.
It should be keyguard if memory serves me right
That was like the second or third one i tried. Didnt fix it

You were right. Thanks. there was 2 different keyguard entries and both together solved the problem

RESOLVED: Found another thread that talks about this and has the fix --> Make sure that "Apply res to widgets" is CHECKED in com.android.keyguard along with DPI 640 AND reboot. There is only one entry and not two. It is com.android.keyguard. See link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...anging-note-4-dpi-settings-to-change-t2923408
Hi budco2000, I am having the same problem as you on the lockscreen once I changed my system wide DPI.
Using Xposed's App Settings, I can only find one entry of keyguard (com.android.keyguard) and not the second one like you mentioned. I tried different keywords like "key", "guard", "pin", "lock" and still not able to find the second keygurad entry. So, my lockscreen's PIN pad is still not aligned.
Can you please tell me what's the second entry you are referring to, please? I am using the same T-Mobile's Note 4 on AT&T
Thanks
