Hi
I sent my Vario iii off for repair and it came back with Windows Mobile 6.1 installed. Now I cannot pair my netbook with the phone to use Bluetooth internet sharing.
It worked before on the original shipped rom with Windows Mobile 6.0 and it works on my HTC Touch phone, but now I cannot connect.
When it asks for the passkey it says it is incorrect even though 0000 is used on both devices. Then i put it in again and it seems to pair up but whenever I try to send a file or use internet sharing the netbook says it cannot access the device and I should pair again.
Anyone come across this problem?
Been trying again on this and read a few posts of people having problems and it appears that downgrading back to 6.0 the only option.
I have had a look around but cannot find a t-mobile 6.0 rom. Does anyone have one or should I contact t-mobile?
No problem here with a 6.1 ROM (the one in my sig) and several different PCs and other bluetooth devices.
Have paired it with a different phone (Touch Diamond) with WM 6.1 but a different build to mine.
The one on my phone is 19212.1.0.3
Have checked the Rom version and it is : 3.31.110.3 with radio 1.70.18.02

i thought to ope a new thread about this.
i tried to get bb connect on wm6 (at&t) versions 2 and 4.
i didn't get any of them to work.
did sombody succeeded in the meantime?
is there a new version coming up?
hope te hear...
Tried them both too on my 750C w/ WM6, unsuccessful. Right now I am on BBC 4.0.0.90, still not working, getting from: No Connection -> Network Available -> Data Tunnel Available (at this point gets an IP address) -> No connection. The PIN is never generated so BBC is unusable for now. I was following a thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294218 , tried to modify my AKU version (didn't try to modify the build in the ROM though) w/ no results.
In the mean while, Hermes/ATT 8525 w/ WM6 and BBC 4.0.0.90 works just fine. What are we missing here ? Anyone w/ a clue ?
I am happy that someone opened a thread for this, I hope we'll get a fix.
Thanks,
HC
i've upgraded mine with wm6 non attws , unable to connect on bbc4 as well
does anybody know the latest b uild of the bb connect software (and where to get it)
i have (downloaded from vodafone nl)
blackberry version 4.0.0.67
transport version 4.0.0.70
and does anybody has a list of new features in later releases
I have 4.0.0.90, check the thread that I posted above for links to download it. Also Google for "Blackberry Connect 4.0.0.90" and I am sure you'll get something. I think the 4.0.0.90 version is not specifically for Treo 750, it's rather for larger screen devices, like the Hermes etc. but it doesn't bother me scrolling a little bit in one or two tabs.
Good luck,
HC
i'm on 750v wm6.0 vodafone and can't get bbc4 to work
not even 2.1
argh!
pissing me off!
I recommend you just to wait a couple of days with the device switched off. I have a HTC Touch, vodafone, Germany. Downloaded Blackberry 2.1 and 4.0, didn't work. Never got a PIN ("PIN pending"). Read somewhere that it worked after a couple of days, so I switched my device off and was frustrated. I even wanted to sell it on eBay already. After 2 days I switched it on again, and, guess what, I had a PIN in the Blackberry software!!! Then I configured my Touch using BlackBerry Activesync Software, and it's now working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Version 4.0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So my recommendation: Try to wait 48 hours.
Currently no BB client is working with WM6 Treo, no matter if you use 2.1.2.52 or 4.0.0.67 or 4.0.0.90. Its always the same, as soon as you connect to the BlackBerry infrastructure you are blocked >>> no IP-adress >>> no connection. Sometimes you can connect one time and when you send the PIN via register now you lose the connection and never get it back again. RIM blocks all device/client/provider combinations which are not supported by the providers. So if you have a provider who supports BlackBerry on WM6 Treo you should be able to connect. I have not found a provider who is doing that so far. The same is with HTC S710. This device worked fine with BB connect 4.0.0.67 for some time, but now you are blocked by RIM if your provider does not support BB on the device.

Wrong. I have been using BBC 4 on my Hermes for months with AT&T and as far as I know the Hermes is supposed to be a "blocked" device. It's not that RIM is blocking it, it's that the software has to be HEX edited to work with WM6. No version of BBC will work on WM6 on the Treo until someone smarter than me can cook up a ROM that is HEX edited to run BBC.
Anyone succeeded in gettings this to work - I'm about to flash to Wm6 so better be sure...

I just got this and it works perfectly on my S710. I had got wipe the device and do a fresh install of the application. Give it a shot. Make sure you have an Active Sync connection to your device before trying to install.

On the AT&T Rom you get Uncertified System Software detected on the install. I assume this is because the S710 is a smartphone rather than a WM device?
Strange thing today on my 750c - Got PIN
Hi all,
It seems that something is changing w/ either RIM or ATT. I installed again today BBC 4.0.0.90 onto my 750c w/ WM6 ATT leaked ROM, after the normal reboot, surprisingly, BBC service connected to the network and I got a PIN. Clearly it said "Connected" on the status tab. Well, I connected the device to my laptop and ran the BBC Desktop, the system was provisioned properly (I think ...), Notes Backend, but now it fails to connect to Blackberry, same symptoms as before, even after multiple soft resets, see comments above. I'll play around some more w/ it and let you all know if I get anything to work. In the mean while, if anyone else has any success, please share ....
Good luck
HC
PS. Posted this in the "Palm Treo 750" forum too ... hope I don't bother anyone

Still doesn't work. I tried to install/uninstall etc. w/ same results, no connection. I am using the leaked ATT rom which otherwise works fine, no strings mods, just the rom w/o any modifications.
Hope this answers your question.

Just did it, same result, no connection. I am uninstalling it right now. Too bad. Again, I think it has to do w/ the device type not the software itself. I have a 750C w/ leaked ATT rom
Anyone w/ other results ?
Thanks,

Installs fine. Gives me PIN and IMEI but no IP and no connection. IT says Network Available and tries to reconnect every few mins. I'll wait for few hours before unistalling it. Sometimes Blackberry Service can take little bit longer to register on USA T-mobile provider.

What kind of device ? 750C or 750V etc.
Thanks,

750V with Vodafone WM6.
Now it flashes with an IP for about a second.
For many of us having BBC running is imperative for our proper "being connected".
RIM choose to be strict on blocking "unsupported" devices and BBC client versions. There is 2 major releases of Blackberry Connect - BC client version 2.X is stable, but limited on features and version 4.X, which has few welcomed additions, but also introduces quite few annoying problems. In this thread we can share our findings, which are either specific to Kaiser / Tilt or do apply to any device.
As a thread starter, I'll bring in the good news for those interested in making BBC2.X running on Kaiser / Tilt - it's simple. In addition to my signature's HEXing of any current WM6 .nbh ROM files, one would simply replace the unicode string "HTC-Kaiser" to "HTC-Hermes" , reflash, change the Aku string to .2.3.0 and BBC2 will work as a charm.

And if you aren't comfortable hex-editing your ROM, the 4.x version of BBC is supported on the Kaiser and Tilt. See these threads for more information.

HELP!! Blackberry Connect NOT working
Hello I have tried to get the BBC 4 working on my kaiser without success, on the kaiser I get a Pin Assigned, service connected and all but I don't get ANY email, the lookups all fail, the email I send from the Kaiser don't get sent but I don't get any error messages.
When I check the Blackberry connect desktop I see that it says PIN: unknown type, if I sync the device again I get a success message but again an unknown pin type
I'm using:
HTC Original ROM
Blackberry Version: 4.0.0.84
Transport Version: 4.0.0.86
Blackberry Enterprise Server: 4.1.2
System Version 77.122.174.117
I am on a coporate BES, which officially doesn't support BBC, is there any way they can block BBC devices?
Please any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!
Vinny
Connected. You just have to get provisioned.

Does any have a bb connect working (BES) on any of the upgraded roms? Tried version .84 and .90 on helmis big storage rom and it would connect for a second and then disconnect. So i switched back to the HTC Rom.
by the way i'm using 4.0.0.84. without any problems.
HExing you should be able to make any BBC client to connect on Hermes or Kaiser/Tilt with any current WM6 ROM.

That is precisely the problem when aI try to provision my kaiser via BBC Destop I get a sucess mesage but nothing happens, and every time I connect the kaiser says your email is set up for pin "unknown" do you wan to chang it to pin XXXXX?
So I guess I'm not getting provisioned right.
Any ideas?

Hello moisha,
i am a bit confused. I had Blackberry 2.1.x running on my Hermes with a patched WM 6 Version. Now I try to implement it myself on my new Kaiser (t-mobile Germany). So far I followd the instructions under
I have not been successful so far. You recommend just to hex HTC-Kaiser to HTC-Hermes. I tried with Hexedit but could not find the string in the nbh file. I use the HTC German ROM for Kaiser (KaiserHTC_GER_1.56.407.3Reconstructed). Can you give me some more hints, how to proceed ???
Thanks ...
I've made a backup with REsco backup, then upgraded my Kaiser to WM 6.1 (italian) got from HTC club.
After flashing, i've restored the backup.
Now everything is ok but the wireless connection. My kaiser wont find any wireless anymore.
Do i have to go back to 6.0? Or i can flash another ROM, maybe a cooked one to get rid of my problem?
I'm fairly new to cooked roms, so i'm also asking to you wich one, of those developed in the forum, is the preferred with most features? I prefer italian ones, but i've no problem with english.
Thanks
try changing the channels. after updating to 6.1 (official, english)i had to change from channel 6 to 11 for his highness the kaiser to find my wireless network.
there could also be other reasons, but for me this helped
The problem is... that i can't find a way to change the channel. The Kaiser isn't finding any wifi network even outside my home, where i know there are dozens of wifi networks.
The signal stay at 0
The SSID, BSSID, TX speed, TX speed are emtpy. Mode = Infrastructure, Channel = 11
all textboxes are not editable
maybe this can help you...
but you need pocket rar to use it so install that as well

If the backup you made was from a Windows Mobile 6.0 installation then that's a problem. That backup should only be used to restore a 6.0 installation otherwise you get problems.
FWIW my WM 6.1 (stock) installation WiFi is working fine - it's GPS thats gone to the pack with this official HTC upgrade.
My suggestion is to do a hard reset, then configure your WiFi and get it working. Then install all your programs from their original cabs - testing after each one to make sure no one program breaks WiFi.
My first post - so go easy on me.
I have an SIM unlocked vodafone v1615 (kaiser) tytn 2 phone.
It came with windows mobile prof 6.0
I use it with THREE UK (pay and go).
Everything was working fine until I upgraded the firmware with the official vodafone 6.1 upgrade - the upgrade went fine.
Now browsing the internet will ONLY work when I'm in a good signal area and the 3G kicks in.
Previously It would quite happily browse the net using GPRS.
BUGGER - I thought! - if it ain't broke don't fix it
Wishing I could just go back to the windows mobile 6.0 rom... I've spent hours and hours trying to get the HARDSPL thingy onto the phone (to stop me bricking the phone - in case a rom upgrade goes belly up).
I've since succeeded - it now has SPL-3.28.Hard on the tricolor screen.
So after all the waffalling....
my question is - should I just upgrade the 'radio' part of it and stick with WM6.1
Or should I tried and just flash the old Vodafone wm6.0 rom back?
My old radio was 1.27.12.11
My current radio is 1.65.16.25
Everything works fine on the phone - just not the GPRS internet browsing.
I can however browse any of the three startpages using GPRS.
eg.

Not sure how this has come about but I used to be able to connect to internet really easily through my work laptop when the TyTn II was connected by either Bluetooth or USB. Now I don't seem to be able to connect to either????
When connecting through USB I seem to be able to connect to the PC via 'Internet Sharing' which also lights up the 'Data Connection' icon but when I try to use IE it just says 'Cannot connect using current settings'. Thing is, I haven't changed anything and it used to work fine. Getting a bit fed up with the whole TyTn II at moment as I seem to spend more time fathoming why it's not doing what I want than doing it. Beginning to think a seperate phone/PDA may be best way ahead.
Unsure of whether the problem is related to the official 6.1 upgrade or the install of NoData (as I got fed up with accidentally hitting the weather and Quick GPS refresh and having the phone eat money).
Regardless of what I try I can't seem to get it to connect to internet albeit phone shows as connected via both Bluetooth or USB.
Short of solving this (and I'm not sure where to start) I'm temted to do a reflash and leave out things like No Data etc etc and just see if it works again. Bit of a nuisance really.
Tried searching all manner of related topics but no joy so far
It is a problem with the WM 6.1 official HTC update
I had exactly the same problem in reverse with my TyTN II when it was running the WM 6.1 (the same official HTC ROM that you have). By 'in reverse' I mean I couldn't initially do internet related things on the TyTN II using my home internet (either via USB or Bluetooth connection). It was fine before but after the upgrade thats when the problem occurred. I didn't have any additional software installed apart from Tomtom Navigator 6.032 (HTC Version) so I don't think your NoData install will be to blame (at least not solely). I did manage to get pocket IE working under these circumstances though after I had a fiddle around in the connections tab under settings - or was it Activesyncs settings.... I could never get the automatic Quick GPS updates to occur though, even under those settings and I still had to manually update (although it did use the home internet connection when I did this).
I remember that I changed a drop down selection from something along the lines of this device is connected to 'Auto' to make it 'The Internet'. Sorry for being so vague but I've now reverted to the original WM 6.0 ROM (more precisely I had HTC do it for free under the warranty) and none of the options I'm looking at now ring any bells. Perhaps someone else recalls more clearly what settings change is required.
I think the most important part of your post is:

Thats how I felt about the HTC upgrade that wasn't. I was quick to go down the upgrade path but since it's been back with WM 6.0 other than a few uncommanded resets in the first day or two which haven't since reoccured, the device is now rock solid again. Of course it'd be nice to think the latest HTC upgrade didn't introduce more problems than were already present but in my experience their current update is more trouble than it's worth (and you haven't even mentioned GPS). If you decide you want it reverted under warranty, I found the HTC Repair Centre (at least here in the UK) to do a fine job of it. I dropped off my phone in the morning, after booking it in over ther phone the day before and it was ready at the end of the same day.

Or you can always download the original shipped roms here off the wiki and flash it yourself. It only takes about 10 minutes. You dont have to download a special SPL for an OEM rom

I was tempted to do that myself (and even asked HTC for the downgrade file to do so) but there are a couple of issues for those of us that like to keep things 'HTC Official'. A big one for me is that since HTC was responsible for creating the buggy WM 6.1 ROM, they should also accept responsibility for fixing it (fat chance of that, I agree with what -888- wrote in the WM 6.0 vs. WM 6.1 thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432482&page=4 along the lines of the best developers being assigned to the latest and greatest products). If they're not going to fix it, then they should at least revert the device to a reliable state. I was in a fortunate position to be in the area of the HTC Repair Centre but if it means sending the phone away, I understand why some might prefer the DIY option.

There's alot to digest about ROM (and Radio and spl) flashing in the wiki and that takes much more than 10 mins. Although a special spl such as hardSPL isn't used with the HTC official setups, the spl does need to be reverted from the 3.28 version with the official WM 6.1 WWE, back to a 1.xx version with WM 6.0 for proper functioning. That isn't just a simple case of running the RUU program like the upgrade to WM 6.1 was - it has to be manually reverted (presumably using something like jumpSPL and the procedure in the wiki for restoring a device for warranty purposes) so it gets more complicated. I was expecting spl version something along the lines of 1.56 on my WM 6.0 setup (to match the ROM numbers) but they installed 1.93, presumably because it was more reliable or offered other performance benifits. Perhaps the ideal spl is in the package already but again this cant just be run like the WM 6.1 upgrade was so there's some jiggery pokery involved
I tend to agree. Not sure why I really bothered with 6.1. One of the first things I did was use Kaiser Tweaks to turn threaded SMS off.
I didn't realise that reverting to WM 6.0 would require more than reflashing so that makes it a little more problematic. I'm not near a HTC Centre. The whole device certainly seems more buggy under 6.1 than it did before and this internet through laptop problem is a nuisance. Being fairly unimpressed with Co-Pilot I don't use GPS that much and, withe the aside that i think I've used the keyboard twice since I had it (another 'essential' I'd put on my list for phone/PDA attributes), I'm beginning to wonder if return to factor state and sell it might not be the better option, reverting to a Nokia E51 and Ipaq 214 Enterprise combination
Post is an option.

Of course it's up to you but don't forget that even though you may not be near a HTC Repair Centre, you could still call them up on the phone to make the booking and post the device to them once you've arranged to have it reverted. They should do it for free but confirm this so you don't get any unpleasant surprises.
