FPSEce configuration/pocket iso

hopefully this tutorial will help fpsece be more fun/playable for everyone.
UPDATE: FPSEce configuration-imo this is one of the best set ups for the wing, but see what you come up with. a little tricky but here goes.
1ST to do this i utilize htc home and battery status plugins. i have been playing this emu overclocked to 299 mhz for periods of up to 2hrs. i do not condone this behavior! and don't even suggest it! but, you get the best gameplay out of the emu.
2ND, make sure all running apps are closed except fpsece, with your device in regular portrait mode with htc home on your today screen, open the keyboard on your wing, go to your programs tab on htc home and press the portrait to landscape flip button. if you you do not have that one activated take a sec and swap it out with one of the other buttons it should be worth it. after this your screen will look funny cause your keyboard is out and your screen has flipped back to portrait orientation.perfect!
3RD, navigate to fpsece and open. go to options/misc/display/landscape left.
4Th, go back into options and choose the joypad/assign buttons. now turn the device so you are looking at the keyboard normally. these are my keymaps but feel free to do your own! PAGE UP-TRIANGLE PAGE DOWN-X ARROW LEFT-SQUQRE ARROW RIGHT-CIRCLE A-LEFT S-UP D-RIGHT Z-DOWN Q-L1 W-L2 O-R1 P-R2 START-SPACEBAR SELECT-TAB MENU- CENTER OF DIRECTIONAL PAD on the screen portion of the wing. finally hit ok!
5TH hit the start tab, then iso and finally navigate to your game WHICH SHOULD BE IN ISOS FOLDER ON YOUR STORAGE CARD. this way you can keep many games on your storage card!
pocket iso guide- http://pdai.org/michu/fpsece/ldrguide.html
this will get your game file sizes way down and your memory card less cramped as well as more games will be compatible with fpsece.

my settings are on usa...recompiler...arm v5...GDI...fast boot...but these may or may not be the best. i am still learning the ideal options myself. i think vga is supposed to be the best/fastest but it depends on the type of device. also i know on some games, gran turismo for example, that adjusting the frame skip number does help speed the game. example: if you are getting5 fps set to 1 on options this will bump it up closer to ten. if you have 12 fps bump up to 2 this may get you closer to 20 fps and so on.

Setup your controller settings. Bind a key to "menu." Then press that key during gameplay, tap options, then adjust the frames from there.
Ok, i have a HTC Heremes, but i thought i'd just ask here, instead of opening a new thread in Hermes section. I get stuck at FPSece screen, no matter how i set up the options, nothing happens. I loaded ps1 bios. And i'm trying to find a tutorial or guide, but can't find any, all of them are mostly about ripping. Any ideas?
try reading this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369855&page=8 . also try the link in my sig!
Yea i got a question or 2.
All the ps1 ios' are like 25mb +
How am i susposed to put them on the phone since the phone dont have that much memory, and i cant reach my memorycard through activsync,
also i have dialup *errgg* and downloading iso' that big is a little impossible for my internet connection, is there a site to find iso's 25mb and smaller?
OK, I downloaded the software to play the games but I don't know where to get the games from. People have said they would be around 25mb, but I can only find ones for 350mb+. Please help. I have a Touch Pro 2
Wow, way to raise a thread from the bottom of the sea there...and about a completely different device too boot. Anyways, the games are not going to be 25MB, if they are then they are either demos or homebrew stuff. Most PSX ISOs are AT LEAST 350MB, but can go as large as a CD, IE 680MB or so. You can try to compress these down using that tool in the first post, albeit you will have to search around for it since the original creators website is not around anymore.
Ok, I've spent forever and a day looking this stuff up....so I have everything I need. Now if someone could walk we through getting my isos's to show up in the isos file that would be great! Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
Did you actually download the ISO's? And if you did, you make an ISO folder on your storage card and then transfer the ISO to it.
forgive me if this post is in the wrong section - i'm new to this forum
i've got a problem with my htc p4350 (herald) when using fpsece
i can start fpsece, but when i try to load a .iso file, the screen turns black for about 10 seconds, and after that it just returns to the home screen
i cannot reach any options screen or etc.
i got the right bios copied and trued 3 different files to load
maybe these are just the wrong files?
(in that case, which files should i try, and where can i get these?)
thanx in advance

light

Hi,
I am in a competition with my sons iphone...
He has sort of white/red/green light to turn on when it is too dark and you eed to enlight something... I had this with my "old" sony erricson.
When I needed a light I had the possibility to trurn on the flash light.
My son can turn on his screen in white so he has someting alike.
Does anybody know something alike for the diamond?
Thanks
Well of course theres a similar thing for Windows Mobile
http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/Enhancements/FlashLight-Colors-12750.shtml
the competition is not fare (for yr son)
http://rapidshare.com/files/133395068/plamp.exe
thaks for your replies...
Alas,
Plamp doesn't give much light
the other one refuses to install...
Still beaten by Iphone... and my son!!
Any help is welcome
Thanks
Well, just try this.. go to the config of your screen, and turn it to maximum brightness... since it is almost all white this should do it. However... I phone has a 3.5" screen, diamond only has 2.8".. so Iphone probably will be a bit brighter than our diamond.
you're right... it is better now, but still...
Anyway. I put the file in internal memory/program files.
It is called plamp.exe
I can not find a way to put in the "programs" tab of my TouchFLO 3D.
Waht to do?
Thnaks

it's not a program it's only an .exe file. make a shortcut for it in windows/start menu/programs and you'll find it in programs.
disable auto adjust backlight in settings/system/power/advanced and tell yr son that he has a nice flaslight but if he want a PDA he'll have to buy a diamond
this can be a dumb question...
What do you mean with "do a shortcut for it"
How do I do that?
Thanks..
(must admit... the Iphone from my son is a nice device......too, but I will never say it when he is around)
Well a shortcut is very easy. You can do it while connected via Active Sync on your own. Basically right mouse button - creat shortcut.
Otherwise you can copy the file in the Data manager of the Phone. Then go to the folder you wanna have the shortcut in, and press Paste as shortcut.
OR you use Resco Explorer, and just say - Make shortcut to startmenu.
OR.. you can try and sold a LED on your device I bet with this u can finally beat your sons Flashlight
I got it in the programms files but can not make it as one of the items in the TouchFlo 3D.
JP
Either add it using the + and navigate (you've gotta add it to \windows\start menu\ first.
or
Just play around with regedit:
hklm\software\htc\manila\programlauncher\xx (where x/xx
is your free launcher slot).
Great, it works... thanks

you are bringing no pride or joy to the diamond owners. you have to be b e t t e r to defeat the evil and help yr son see the light (pun intended)

you are showing signs of going to the dark side. beware!! declarations like the one above can get you banned for life from this exclusive and select forum.
nono... still am very happy with the diamond...
The discussion always stops when I tell him not to get lost with his "GPS" system...
Anyway... I showed him my new "Light" button... he showed me his... looks like the other program I was adviced to install but it gave an errormessage saying it wasn't able to install (very informative)
JP
While your son is asleep in his bed tonight stamp on his iphone and throw it in the bin! Then in the morning go and buy him a diamond. It is what any loving father would do!

JAVA programs/ games???

I am trying to find java programs but more specifically games that work on the fuze. I tried installing some from a free mobile game site and it worked but the games showed up too small on my fuze's screen because of its high resolution and the game was made for a smaller screen. Does anyone know of a site that has games that are free and work well on the fuze? Specifically on its higher res screen?
I have searched around but cant find anything.
Thanks.
I also have a question pertaining to this;
Some java apps make use of a numerical keypad, as most phones that use java have keypads, is there any way around this? That, and there really ought to be some way to have a softkey where the home key is. The fact of the matter is, no matter what software I have tried to use to remap, the homekey will always screw up the java game, as using the task manager to go back doesnt really work. I have long since given up on this, and I apologize if I have hijacked the thread.
bump i have the same problem too. Shows up too small on the screen. Ive searched but cant find sites that have free games that arent small

Xda IIs noob here, need help T_T

I recently had a xda IIs before i found out that the qwerty is busted. I've searched the site and found out that theres an app which is "Fingerboard" that can be used as a keyboard aside from the default one that xda has. Now the question is that, can we install it to the BA? ive checked the thread about that and it says there that it need to match the screensize (QVGA,VGA,WVGA im not sure)And if possible I wanted to use that as my default keyboard since Im really not comfortable with using the stylus..
Thanks in advance for all your replies...
Hopefully I wont offend someone or make someone angry about my questions.
1. you are probably talking about this app:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487677
it is called fingerkeyboard 2.1 and it is great.
2. yes, you can install it to the BA, just pick the QVGA cab installer.
the screen (size/) resolution is very important for apps like this, because, it wants to bring you bigger keys, so you can control the soft keyboard with your fingers, on the other hand, it needs practically all the keys, the small soft keyboard has, without being too big, so you couldn't see the rest of the screen, hard to find a good way to do that, but fingerkeyboard2 is a good program doing all of that (in he 2.1 version). in case you were wondering, the BA's screen is QVGA, meaning 240*320, in contrast to VGA, 480*640 and WVGA 480*800.
3. i am using i as my default keyboard, too. there are different ways to set this as default, tweak programs, registry changes... but the easiest way to do so is, to install SIP change, pick fingerkeyb as default, and set the timeout to 50seconds, meaning, whenever you soft reset your device, sip change will start and set fingerkeyb as default, and after 50sec. the program quits, because then it is definitely set.
installing both apps isn't hard, just 2 cab files you copy to your device. fingerkeyb needs a bit of configuration to match your country's layout and other things like sound, vibrate, auto-correction, but it is self-expainatory, plus you will find a lot of help in that particular thread, so look it up, install it, have fun.
P.S. i forgot to mention the 2 biggest advantages: it is (in contrast to SPB keyboard) FREE & SMALL in installation size.

Massive Newbie!

Well basically ive just got my new HTC diamond today and was looking at installing a few apps, programs and themes ect.
But after spending 2 hours browsing the forum im just getting more and more confused by the minute about what you actually have to do
Can anyone link me or tell me how i go about getting programs themes and app's on to my diamond?? im mainly wanting to change the home screen (customize it)
Help Much Appreciated.
Jack
Right after further searching i found i need "TouchFlo 3D" i downloaded this and put it in the program files folder then go to install it on my phone and nothing happens, asif i dont even click it .. please can someone help!!
Jack,
Ur diamond out of the box already has TF3D, go to start>settings>today and choose on the second tab ('items') TF3D, click the X in the upper right corner and then your homescreen will change to the one with the nice flip clock on it.
But why don't u start with the manual that came with your diamond?
Get to know the device a little more, use it for awhile and then decide what you want to change to let it better suit your needs.
For tons of information and good applications you're absolutely in the right place here, though it can be a bit overwhelming at first, but you'll figure it out i'm sure (cuz i did to and i'm not a whizkid whatsoever..lol...)
Have fun with your diamond, it's a great device with lotsa possibilities

Well its not actually out of the box i meant new as in ive just got it
Got it off my dad as hes just upgraded, anyways after searching even more i decided to have a little play.
i followed this guide :
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211
And used this rom :
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=607860
But im getting numerous problems, at first it worked spot on with no problems then after about an hour i went to see if i had a message and it had froze .. now it just keeps turning itself on and off all the time and basically hard resetting itself as every time it turns off i have to do the stylus alignment and date ect.
What am i doing wrong?!
You're doing nothing wrong, but you skipped a step that's crucial when flashing a Diamond:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540290&highlight=mtty
If you perform mtty before you flash a new rom it will most probably solve all the weird errors such as you describe.
Hi, i tryed that but i dont have windows 7 just XP so its not compatable
sure it is compatible, it's even easier to use with XP cuz you don't have to change the drivers.
Be sure to read the first post of the thread carefully, lol, look at the big sentence in red:
NOTE: WORKS WITHOUT DRIVER INSTALL ON XP
Your right its working perfect now, but the tom only came with one keyboard option, and its not "qwerty" can i get an add on or something so i can get the other option's on my device (qwerty, compact, phone keypad)
Thanks for all your help Nirak
Just tryed two other ROM's and there both the same it shows in the screen shots that you can change between the different ones but i keep getting the same keyboard layout no matter what ROM i use, like it wont let me change it to qwerty or phone keypad
Could someone please help me, as its getting quite frustrating now.
Thanks Jack
